You have not because QuickTime Player does not support the xvid .avi formats or dvi. You can download the free VLC media player and she plays very well this .avi.

HP20-2000: how to read a dvd
cannot read a dvd, either, not least dvd in computer hear a humming noise, wait for the message to find what you want to do with this camera, a few weeks later I'm still waiting. as new computers about 15 months you would think that I would like to know something to try, not if the 1st series of 2000 I had made me bad, yes put error, most of the time, but when she died after 10 months and I was told that a partition has been absent explained perhaps it wasn't all my lack of skills. He was replaced by another set of 2000 in respect of the extended warranty, and with the last 2 months he turned out to be as slow as the first, had a few hiccups, but how can it be so difficult to put a dvd in to play or is the dreaded partition up to his tricks.
All joking aside could some alwyn7 one help, he needs.
have tried suggestions again, got on microsoft fixit, clicked on the problems of cd/dvd, traveled to green up coming this, convenience store lines does not apply to your system? then another don't attempt on fixit troublshooter no problem detected there for not applied hotfixes?. DVD well inserted again and something has changed much whirring little upward on tab to the right of the screen that you want to do, so busy 2 games work thank you very much for your help.

Re: My driver TEAC DV-w28ECT used to read DVD and CD now it reads only DVDs
My TEAC DV-w28ECT driver used to read DVDs and CDs, now, he reads only DVDs. What's happened and how can I solve this problem? I have Windows Vista
Try to remove the CD/DVD filters in the registry.
When the associated CD/DVD (such as iTunes, Nero, virtual CD software), the software is installed, they install filters in the registry, which can cause compatibility problems.(1) run Regedit (start-> Run-> Regedit)
2) navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
(3) in the right pane, delete the "UpperFilters" key and delete the key "LowerFilters".
(4) restart.If your CD/DVD programs stop working, you will need to reinstall them (preferably with an updated version).
This utility can remove the filters for you:

I finally got my DVD burner to work, but now the drive will not read the DVDs I burned, which, of course, defies the point of having a dvd burner in the first place... When I insert my dvd recently burned, "working" light lights and stays on. Same thing happens no matter how many times I take it out and put plug back in, restart my computer, etc... any ideas anyone?
Hello
@Magnus:
Sometimes, CDs and burned DVD cannot be read with no closing sessions of engraving. You should check this option.
In addition, this burning program did you use?
I use Nero. Form is the program better combustion and I never had a problem.
What you need to do is to test several DVDs. not all media work on the disc. -

Cannot read a cd or dvd to print
Hi WayneMarkland,
· What happens when you try to play an audio CD?
· How do you print DVDs?
· When exactly do you get the error message?
I suggest trying the Microsoft Fixit and/or manual steps from the following links and check if it helps:
Diagnose and repair Windows files and folders problems automatically
You receive an error message when you try to start a program that has the an.exe file name extension
How to change or choose the program that starts when you double-click a file in Windows XP
I hope this helps.

http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Format_Factory
(the 'direct link' is faster download)
(the file you want to download is: > FFSetup280.zip<>

and drop it on your desktop. To install left click.Next, after the download and installation of Format
Factory... you can open the program and
left click on the toolbar, the "Option" button and
"Select an output folder to" / apply / OK.

In the left column of Format Factory... go to...
"ROMA Device\DVD\CD\ISO" / DVD to the video file...Open the DVD menu and select the drive
