How to remove fasteners of the persistent disks that do not have a desktop computer?

Hello community,

We have a small problem in our society. We use VMware View 4.5 and really like it. Our office is based on Win7 and everything works really well. But for some Ford, we managed to create persistent discs attached... without a desktop computer?

As you can see on the capture screen, desktop computers are used with persistent records. Five of them are assigned to a user, but do not have a desktop computer. Users can work, because they have a new drive persistens, created automatically. But the 'old' are now and can not be spare, cause her are not attached! But without disassembly, we cannot delete it. Just posted discs can be deleted... it's a doom loop

So maybe someone has already had the same error? I mean... the files do not exist on our storage and users can work, there is no problem with this, but it seems that the database of the vmware view do not know, that the files have disappeared... is there a way to delete the entries in the database for this five-disc?

We have tried to export (with the tool on the server) and re-imported, but it doesn't work, cause, you are not able to remove things when importing data backups... What can do us?

Hello
Take a look at the link:
In the other discussion, the solution was: connect with ADSI, go to OU = data disks and remove entries

  • Force the persistent data that is not retained on App upgrade

    Hello

I'm developing a new version of an existing application. The earlier version of the data stored in the persistent store of the device. When a user installs the new version of the application, they get a prompt saying something like "the persistent data is stored on the device. You want to keep these data? ».

If the user answers Yes, the application will continue to use the old data which has been made persistent by the initial version of the application. This isn't what I need to happen.

If the user answers no, the app will wipe the old dat and rebuild the store persistent with my current data. It is the course of action I want to request each time.

Since there is no way to guarantee that each user will select 'NO' to this prompt, is it possible to configure the new version so that the data is not retained automatically?

What other options are there for dealing with this situation?

    Thank you

If the application can access the old data, why not just remove them when the application runs? In order to distinguish, again, you can design new data to contain a signature value that is not present in the old data. (For example, you can set your local record store to have record 1 always contain version store data, in a format that is not likely to be present in earlier formats.)

An upgrade does not (usually) follow the same procedure with regard to the persistent data as a sequence of uninstall/install. However, there are occasional messages here on updates apparently lose persisted data that was supposed to be preserved. I did not understand everything exactly what are the causes which, but it has not considered the norm.

P.S. If you use RecordStore instead of Persistable, custom classes are not relevant. The record store is deleted when all the MIDlets in the MIDlet suite, who created the store folder is uninstalled.

    Dear,

I bought a new Satellite A200 - 1 M 5 1 week there are, but I have noticed a noise coming from your hard drive that is not regular, whenever the drive is currently in use, there is a noise from him. It's weird, I had Satellite phones precedents and never faced that.
is this normal in this series of satellites? or damage my hard drive? Although it works very well so far.

If anyone has an idea about this, please let me know it.

    Appreciate it.

    > Whenever the drive is currently in use, there is a noise from him. It's weird
Who is normal behavior that the HARD drive makes sounds while working.
On some disks, the sound is louder and some drives are quieter.

My laptop comes with a 100 GB HARD drive and I noticed that this HARD drive work harder than the previous 40 GB HARD disk.

I don t think that there might be a problem with your HARD drive. It of new.
So, in my opinion you should t be worried.

and if the HARD drive is going to die your warranty covers the replacement ;)

  • How can I recover data from a disk that does not open?

It is connected to a USB port, it is turned on, indicated on the workstation dialog box and the wizard says that it works correctly, but no data can be retrieved. It is a 500 GB NOONTEC external drive.

    Hi Joe Barna,

If please see this thread and follow the troubleshooting steps listed by Syed N.

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-hardware/Windows-7-says-my-external-hard-drive-is-empty-but/b756d646-936a-E011-8dfc-68b599b31bf5?msgId=68f65ecd-096b-E011-8dfc-68b599b31bf5

As long as these files are not damaged or infected by a virus or malware, there was no damage on the new computer. I think that the files could just be hidden or something like that. Just reply with the results of the steps listed above.

    I hope this helps.

  • When file/collection, how can I delete all the related items that are not on my last composition?

Hello, I have a great difficulty using the file/collection a large file I did months ago, because when I use it, the file is created, but it takes 2.5 to space! compared to others of my works, taking almost 1 TB of files, this one is too big and I think by deleting some files, but I don't want to make a mistake, so I wanted to ask here, if it is possible to take a main composition and only do a file/collection of this composition, objects and elements that serve there (the last I made on my account at least, with the elements used on that, because I think that there are many (if not a large part of them) files and elements that are not used in the final version, as scenes of the version beta of my work, the problem is the composition is too long and have a lot of different archives or drop movies then it could take forever to do it manually...

Thanks for reading me! I hope that this is a solution...

    It's a two-step process:

    1. reduce your project to the desired composition.

    2 recover your files.

  • How to remove or disable the icon/thumbnail that floats above the pointer when you drag a file or folder in Explorer

When you do a drag-and - d├⌐poser in Solution Explorer, a very large icon/thumbnail floats just above the needle during the drag and a message "Move to .  The icon corresponding to the type of content of the file or the moved folder.

Unfortunately, it is difficult to see the destination of drag.  Really annoying.  The message "move to...". "or" copy to... ". "relatively small is fine.

So the question is, how to reduce the size (preferably 0) or to increase transparency (preference to 100%) or gift away with just the icon/thumbnail altogether?

    Hello

Unfortunately, this is an of the by design of Windows Explorer functions. There is no way to solve this problem I know.

You might want to consider simply cut and paste them instead.

    I hope this helps.

  • access to the "My Documents" folder on the HARD disk that does not start

Recently, I got 2 hard drives put in place into a monster of table (SATA) on me. I had an IDE hdd hooked that I had just never deleted. My "mirrored array' failed me so I ended up replacing my MB & CPU and started from scratch. The IDE hard disk has some very relevant info, I need to recover. I can get to basic files in there, but my most important stuff is in my folder 'My Documents' but as far as I can get is to open "Documents & settings". Another thing I try to open fails. I made a password but have no way to enter (at least AFAIK), I would appreciate greatly any help on this problem. Thank you

I sell desktop computer and need to know how to remove all of the pc?

The most difficult part of the first paragraph is to create the boot floppies - which can be complicated and requires installation of Windows disks.

Perhaps a third simple but effective alternative is simply to re - install Windows on your computer from the disc that came with your computer or from the recovery partition.  Resettlement will delete all files on the disc and replace them with the New Installation of Windows.  At this point, the fragments of your old files may remain on your hard drive.  So once relocation complete, download and install the freeware 'Eraser' software, run it and you want to specify the "free space" erased on your hard drive.  This will overwrite firmly all the data remains that has not already been overwritten by the Windows Installation.

Get a partition manager and use it to format the local disk drive holding the BONE you want to delete. After you're done merging now empty partition with the local disk that contains the OS Win XP Media Center.

the hard drive of my computer is purchased full.i a drive.how external hard change outside the primary disk so I can download music easily.right now my external backup just my computer that isn't doing me good

    original title: external hard drives

You don't want to change your external drive to your main drive.

You can move your music files on the external drive - or you can move other data on the disk to make room for your music on the internal drive.

What applications do you use to play music?

As described in the first link below, you can move your full "My Documents" folder on the external drive.  Alternatively, you can simply move your music files.  If such an arrangement would give you a satisfactory performance, however, depends on how your external drive is connected (for example, USB 1.1, USB 2.0, USB 3.0, eSATA, Firewire, network) and other hardware features of your computer.

Not all of the following conditions will be applied to you, but some of the tips can be useful.

There are a number of things you can do to- temporarily - free up disk space.  The only real solution, however, is to get a bigger internal hard drive.   You can move the data to your external drive, but if it's the data that you use frequently, slower access times may annoy you.  Therefore, I do not recommend that you move your My Documents folder in its entirety on the external drive, but you can certainly do this by following the related instructions.

    • You can run Disk Cleanup (start > run > cleanmgr > OK)
    • You can reduce the size allocated for the restoration of the system to about 1 GB (right click on desktop > properties > system restore > settings)
    • You can disable hibernation (if you don't use it) (right click on an empty spot on the desktop > properties > screen saver > power > Hibernate)
    • You can disable the indexing of the drive, which will also speed up your computer a bit (http://lifehacker.com/031440/turn-off-indexing-and-speed-up-windows-xp)
    • You can reduce the size of your Internet browser cache (depending on the browser that you use)
    • You can remove most of the $NTUninstallKBxxxxxx files $ following the directions here: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Hotfix_backup.htm (read the warnings in the gray box first)

But none of these answers you will earn really large amounts of space for very long.  The term solution time is a bigger hard drive.

In the meantime, download and run JDiskReport, that will show you graphically what files take up more space and seem to so indicate what files you must move it to your external drive.  If you want to move an application, you will need to uninstall and then reinstall it specifying your external drive as the installation location.  You can not simply move the files.
