Hi, I own a Toshiba 47L7453DB, when I turn on the TV sometimes the screen just a logo in red and sometimes not TOSHIBA.
What could this be? If anyone can help please.

Toshiba Satellite A85 Celeron with XP Home edition. Windows does not start. I have Toshiba logo screen, then it turns into a black screen with the upper left corner of the cursor. I have the recovery disk. Is it possible to record HD without re-formatting and losing all data?

If you run the Toshiba recovery application, you will lose all your data.  As indicated in the warning, this application will restore the computer back to wherever it was when it was first delivered by the factory.

Without other complementary diagnostic information, it is difficult to determine what is happening.  Pressing the key (do not hold) of F8 beginning immediately after that the sequence of power should bring you to the Advanced Boot Options menu.  Try again then press repeatedly the key rather than pressing on and now.

The recovery CD Toshiba, you have probably does not allow a "repair installation".  Contact Toshiba to see if they will provide you with a suitable CD.

Given the fact that you can get a useful place when you start with the Toshiba Recovery DVD, my guess is that the computer is OK but that the hard drive has failed - or maybe more likely - the startup information is damaged so that it does not start.  If you have access to a computer equipped with a burner, download and create a bootable Windows CD.

There are a number of available bootable CD which include various recovery and diagnostic tools.  You'll have to do some research to find out how to use the tools.

    Ultimate Boot CD 4 Windows
    Ultimate Boot CD
    Hiren BootCD

If you feel overwhelmed by the tools and I just want back the data, and then use the Toshiba Recovery DVD, make you a Knoppix CD and use this key to your data, preferably on a network connection.

If all this sounds like too much for you - and there is no shame in admitting that--take the laptop for a good local computer repair shop (not a type BigBoxStoreUSA or rather GeekSquad) and ask them to check it out and make sure to recover your data before anything else.

  • Satellite L350 not dΘmarre but toshiba logo and windows icon appears

My husband used his laptop (bought new about 13 months) yesterday without any problem at all, but when he tried to start it today, it would not.

The toshiba logo appears, like the icon of the little window at the bottom of the screen, but then the screen goes black and nothing happens. Anyone know what could be the problem and how could this problem be solved?

Nothing stranged happened at all, only windows made an update, and we bought a renewal for McAfee anti virus software it has downloaded... It would be great if someone would have a solution for us, because we currently reside in different countries at the moment and our laptops are basically our "lifeline"...

The laptop came with windows vista on it btw.

Try to start Notepad in SafeMode (F8 at startup) and attempt to restore the operating system to an earlier time using System Restore tool.

You can start a computer laptop in safe mode?

As you can see this pictures shows different readers. On this point, you can choose which device should be used as first boot device.
When you start your laptop and when these symbols appear to press the right arrow several times (the red line of the brand will be moved to the right) and you will see how you can choose the right device.

When the device is marked just press the ENTER button.

  • Satellite Pro L870 don't stay on the Toshiba logo forever - no start

    Hi all

Does anyone know of a problem that could cause a no boot (a few stays on Toshiba logo forever) followed by starting on the second try almost every time on a Toshiba Satellite Pro L870 (Windows 8)?

    Thanks in advance

The laptop usually performs the POST (power on self-test) while the Toshiba splash screen is visible.
In power in the self-test, the essential components card mother (i.e. RAM) is enabled.

I think the POST should not be spent properly and so the laptop hangs at the Toshiba logo screen.

But unfortunately, I can't say with certainty what part could be affected it could be a RAM problem or a motherboard problem.

  • Portege 7010CT shows Toshiba logo then the screen goes black

Help! When I turn on the Toshiba logo comes up then the screen goes black and I find myself with a cursor blinking in the upper left corner. Nothing seems to work, keyboard seems locked even though CTRL, ALT & DEL it restarts. Was working perfectly one day, so that the next. Any ideas?

    Hello

You can start the machine in safe mode? Which operating system you are using? Are you using it for a while or is this first boot after installation.

Please write a little more. If you give more info and detailed description, it is easier to understand what may be the problem.

  • Satellite A500-1F7 - after Toshiba logo screen turns off completely

    Hello! C:

Does not start my Satellite A500-1F7 up more - when I try to turn it on, the Toshiba logo appears, but a few seconds later, the screen is completely blank. If I press F2, while the logo is displayed on the screen, the Setup menu opens. F12 also works well.

At first I thought that my computer laptop just needs a battery new, since she had been asking me to change it for a while and directed by the battery was out. Now I got a new battery - still does not work.
If anyone has an idea, what could be the reason or what I could do to fix it please help me!
Unfortunately, I'm a total noob to computer.

Thank you for taking the time to read all this!

  • Re: satellite A300 screen turns off after the toshiba logo, will not boot from the CD/DVD

Hello, I have this problem with Toshiba satellite A300.

I deleted several files and folders of my drives C and E. To restart the computer, it only shows the Toshiba logo then a slightly gray white screen on a thorough inspection. Whenever I press CRL + ALT + DELETE, the computer restarts and behaves in the same way.

I tried to use an external monitor, but there is no difference. The tent to start using a CD/DVD, same behaviour occurs, it does not start and screen remains blank after the Toshiba logo, I tried even to change g the order of boot, but in vain.

    What could happen?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

It seems that you deleted system files and Windows no longer starts. Have you tried to restore the disk image factory settings or hard drive recovery? Or do copy the Windows installation... It is easier to reinstall rather fix the problem.

  • 2430-101 stops at Toshiba-Logo (BIOS Setup/Boot-selection products deadloop)

    Hello.

I have a serious problem with my Satellite 2430 101:

The system stops at the start after reaching the TOSHIBA Logo. Pressing F2/F12-key appears common waiting messages ("enter in BIOS-Setup" / "entering Boot Device selection Menu) "), but the system hangs and then upward in a deadloop (you can hear the fan turning after a few seconds). Restarting with Ctrl + Alt + Delete system works perfectly, but as soon as it happens

This is what happened before the last stop:

I simply restarted the system (OS: Novell/SUSE Linux 9.3 kernel 2.4.xxx) and usual stop messages appeared. Then there was strange messages, which resembles BIOS-output (I'm sure it's no message-Linux)-I remember only something about "Boot PXE" and that it was an error message. After waiting some time (about 15 minutes), I rebooted manually by pressing the power button.

I tried unplugging everything which has been connected to the system (including ModularBay devices) - without any result. I use the old BIOS 1.10 because there is no BIOS-update to the 2430-101 available in the downlads (maybe that was the problem). I also tried out the hard drive - even without a hard drive, the system displays the same behavior (if the hard drive is not the problem)...

I hope someone can help me with this, because I need my laptop for my work...

    Thank you

    Hi Rico,

Have you tried to boot in SafeMode (PF8)? This should at least help you in your system to check for any errors.

You can also try pressing them ESC when starting so that you can see the progress of the BIOS and the error messages.

  • C satellite will not start - only toshiba logo appears

My laptop is only 1 week and will not start.
All I get is the toshiba logo and the screen becomes a pale bluish color.

    Any ideas?

    What is your laptop model?

You are able to access the BIOS?
Turn on the unit button and press F2 to enter the BIOS.
    The BIOS screen is visible?

Another idea: the laptop turns on, press the F12 key.
Usually, you should see a start menu. Here choose the last option called HARD drive recovery.
This option allows you to recover the computer laptop back to factory settings.

  • Satellite P200-140 - Toshiba Logo appears for a few seconds, then disappears

    I have a problem simular with a P200-140.

When he starts the Toshiba Logo appears for a few seconds, then disappears, if I tilt the screen I can see that the image is there but the screen does not light.

I used my projector SVGA output and which works very well. Sometimes after having started a few times the display returns and will then work fine but disappear again without warning especially if yiou closes the screen.

    I don't know if it's maybe a switch problem?
Y at - it a contact microphone that could stick when you close the lid?

I tried deleting and reinstalling display drivers and booting in safe mode, neither makes the difference.

    Hi Mortiss,
Maybe the backlight of the lcd screen went... (I don't think)
    or broken wires... (!)
or the lid switch is defectiv (rare)

  • Ubuntu on Toshiba Satellite U940 - startup of: SSD

    Hi guys,.

I think buy Toshiba Satellite U940. The reason is that he a dimmable-up ultrabook so I'll buy 16 GB of ram and a 120 GB of msata SSD. I'm going to install ubuntu. But because I'm not sure that two important things, I would ask you first.

    1. can you the msata SSD was seen directly from the bios? I want to install ubuntu on it and also to have my case start and all programs there. I ask this question because I read somewhere msata SSD it is only for the purpose of the cache and cannot be seen directly because it is in RAID mode. So can we get around this thing from the bios? I just only to manipulate the msata SSD as a disk driver normal in my bones. It is this possible?

2 are all drivers for Toshiba Satellite available for ubuntu linux U940?

Thank you guys for your time.
    Harry

    Hi Harry

Good to hear about your projects!

I can't answer your question exactly since I don't have the necessary information to do so.
However, I can tell you some things that can help!

The RAID configuration is purely software-rendering. So it can be removed from f.ex Ubuntu disk-tool.
I installed Fedora on the U840 and U940 that have the same RAID on an internal SSD flash drive and internal HARD drive.

The RAID can easily be removed and that make storage devices appears as installation targets unique (e.g. SDA and SDB).

However, I can't tell you if any data 3' rd party SSD will work in the U940.

My Setup was when I used the 32 GB SSD as a target for the OS - which is actually a LOT of space for an OS Lnux.
The internal HARD disk has been mounted as HOME.
In this way, I had the speed of the SSD for all operations of the system (boot, updates...) while having massive storage HARD drive for personal data.

Regarding the drivers, I think in addition to the basic features should work (WiFi, screen, sound, etc).
In my tests, I noticed (but is no intensive testing is) no problem don't except the backlight on the keypad was not working on older kernels.
