  I have all my fonts to a folder on an external hard drive. How can I use font book to manage these fonts? I want to keep on the external hard drive, not book fonts move them to my main hard drive. For some reason, font book does not know where are the fonts and as soon as I show, he sets in motion all the fonts on my hard drive in a folder/library/fonts. NOT what I want!   Font book handles only the fonts that are present in one of the folders of fonts on the startup disk. It can disable these fonts, but it won't work as a custodian of the fonts installed also. I would have suggested using a symbolic link to the folder fonts on the external drive to ~/Library/Fonts, but apparently that no longer works: allow to use symlinks in ~/Library/Fonts

  Technical support is not useful at all. I paid $60 for some recovery disks recover my accidentally formatted Yoga 2 Pro. The disks came with no instruction, and their use is weird. First of all, there are two disks of 1, disc 2, but there is a disc 3 and 4. Support has confirmed that this is normal. There is also no prompt between 1.1 and 2 disks, so that it my best guess when spending, I can't confidently say I'm not screwing things up.

  When the process is complete, the bios can not find a bootable media.

  Tech support confirmed that I'm missing a small step, but won't disclose what it is, unless I pay for premium support.

  Can anyone provide instructions for the recovery media? Tips or pointers you can remember when you install?

  Well. It seems that I solved it. Significant progress will now on recovery. The missing piece for me was that I had the bios mode of existing startup instead of the UEFI. I don't know much, other that it's another way to start, but I started Windows in this mode before. Apparently you just cannot restore in legacy mode.

  What really irks me about the Lenovo support, is that the person on the phone today spoke with the technical team and immediately identified the problem I was seen as "a small step of missing", but would not disclose what it was unless I paid them an extra $60-100 (I don't remember the exact amount).

  In any case, for those who are like me - here are my steps:

  1. turn off the machine

  2. press the Novo button (the small button next to the actual power button)

  3. go into your bios and make sure the UEFI boot mode is selected instead of the inheritance

  4 F10 to save and exit

  5. If you have a DVD - ROM drive with the recovery media, ensure that it is hooked to restart

  6. start with Disc 1 (or the other apparently)

  7. When you've waited long enough and the progress bar seems to be not to move and your DVD - ROM drive has stopped turning, insert the other Disc 1

  8. Repeat step 7, and then insert the disc 3 to the end

  9 Disc 3 will ask you when it's over

  10 insert the disc 4.

  The rest of the process will occur at startup, and I am currently going through it now.

  Thanks a lot for your help guys, and I hope that Lenovo reads this, because it was a terrible experience. The hardware is impressive, but I can't justify a future purchase where I have no recourse if something happens to my machine

  I have the plugin Photomatix Pro 3.2.9 for Lightroom 3.3 and you can't make it sucessfully validate an image.  When I select camera 3 bracketed images into Lightroom and export to Photomatix Pro to do HDR the image seems to export them all right as I see the LR progress graphic top left showing the process of the images until the end, but then nothing happens.  I'd guess no image has been registered but simply exported to Photomatix, but then nothing shows and do not open or handle anything. Can I still use Photomatix successfully on its own without the use of LR but as I use LR as my image browser it would be beneficial to use it.  Any help please?  I'm on Mac OSX.

  Please try to check the rendering under Edit menu options > Preferences > Page Display.

  Check if in smooth text field "for computer/laptop LCD screens" is selected.

  Microsoft does not sell Windows 7 with a downgrade to Windows XP and a valid key. You will need to provide your own key. This option is only available with OEM Windows 7 Professional systems. If you wish to continue using XP you will need 2 keys as indicated by JW.
  Windows 7 offers XP mode and you can use it if you have chosen.

I can use the installation of the Page or simply print. But if I close the preview, this temporary image vanishes and I'm back on the page where I started. You see something different?
