HP 1110 p7: nVidia Gt 720 help

I have a p7 1110 with Carmel 2 motherboard and I installed a 720 Gt GPU. The computer boots fine, the rotation of the fan on the gpu, but I can't get the video to show the GPU, but only from the integrated graphics card.

The Gt720 is in the computer at the present time, the fan spinning and everything. The MB is even compatible with this card?

I have a power stronger and running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.

Thank you.

Hello @saabovich,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you have a problem with the graphics card and tried to help you!

Product Specifications of your office and the GeForce GT 720, the motherboard should support.  The motherboard supports PCI Express x 16 graphics cards.  The GPU has supported PCI Express 2.0 Bus, and the motherboard is Gen2.0 supported for all PCI Express slots, except the Mini card slot.  The graphics card requires a minimum 300W system power, where as your unit has 250W.  I do not understand that you mentioned have a more solid food.  You can consider verification of the graphics card to see if it is properly installed.  This is because, in the integrated graphics subsystem should not be available if a graphics card is installed.

Please let me know if this information helps you solve the problem by marking this message as 'accept as Solution', this will help others easily find the information they seek.  In addition, by clicking on the Thumbs up below is a great way to say thank you!

Have a great day!

  • T61p - on-site warranty just installed new fan/radiator - time of Nvidia went Up - help please

Someone please look at the pictures below, tell me if warranty Onsite installed the fan/radiator bad for one of my five T61p units earlier today that the Nvidia chip runs a good 15 ° C warmer than before (the other time watching normal using HWMonitor v1.17).   BTW, this chip from Nvidia is a good one dated 2010 (1043A 2) and came from a previous motherboard warranty Onsite replacement thanks to the Nvidia bumping because of the failure of materials (on a machine end July 2008 08/07, no less).

I have included photos of one of my other unit for comparison T61p fan/heatsinks (in August 2008 08/08 of the machine) and my other units from Nvidia are still with a tube of heat very different to running the Nvidia chip research more a heatsink very high above the Nvidia chip, which has a gray cushion vinyl top (see pictures).  Replacement of today appear that it may have an elbow in the naked heat tube running to the Nvidia chip.

The technology installed also wrongly a long live in the lower left corner of the processor heat sink... I found it when I went later to remove the KB and palm rest to see why the Nvidia chip ran more hot (because screw KB was previously a long screw, but it was released as a short screw, so I thought he put a long screw inside a place where it shouldn't be).   Fortunately, I found the corner of the CPU and the swap of screws but that has not solved the Nvidia chip running more hot.

Here is the part number of the thermal fan they sent him: 42W2823

Could this be a fan/radiator T61 Assembly which was sent to him by mistake? That would explain a lot and can easily be corrected by a return visit in the future.

    Thank you all.

I am pleased to announce that people fine and courteous to the warranty Department Lenovo delivered the good fan/radiator directly to me on their own (apparently so I could check for my part it was OK), then a different tech called the same day, set up an appointment for Friday, August 3 between 12:00 and 17:00.  He showed up at 12:00 sharp, not less.

This second tech (of the same service contract company) was superb, and he even used a buffer of anti-static work! ... Unlike the first tech.

He also spent more time to ensure no damage has been done the first tech work and as I looked at the time after starting for a while (unlike the first tech who almost had a foot in the door before I could not even start until time to check).

So now my second (out of five) T61p units (unit very late July 08/07) runs once more in good time, after the good fan/radiator was installed.   The second tech stopped even without any complain for me to take a couple of pictures correctly targeted its current NVIDIA GPU... a GPU of 2010 with a 1043A 2 code a replacement motherboard Lenovo warranty in 2011 for my file date!

Thanks to Lenovo warranty Department and the 2nd technician for a job well done.

  • My laptop is slow and uses up to 100 percent of the disk

Hello. To start things, I want to confess that I am not the computer geek. I know how to handle a thing or two, but if you want to help, please describe each step to solve my problems one by one. I would like a clear and detailed explanation and thank you for spending the time trying to help me.

Well, I use a X550L from ASUS. Purchased 3 months ago and used it quite often. It has a 4 GB RAM, OS of Windows 8, although I tried to install the free Windows 8.1 it never change. It also has a NVIDIA GEFORCE 720 m. All parts was original I've ever hardware upgrades. The last two days were a nightmare for me. I couldn't sleep thinking about the problem I have with this laptop. It's new, and this problem worries me because I'm looking at a laptop that I would use for another 3 years. If the question was:

    1. as if the title has not made clear enough, my laptop runs very slowly. Let me describe how SLOW is. I start up my laptop and open my utorrent then I'll check my disk usage in the Task Manager, it shows 100%. Don't tell me Defrag, adjust my virtual memory, disable superfetch and microsoft service because I did all this and nothing changes. Well actually it changed for some time, but whenever I open utorrent as soon as I turn on my laptop, the disk usage percentage increased up to 100%. Also sometimes it drops as all methods suggest he would.

    2. my second question is that because of my laptop uses all available RAM, I can't open any files or applications or even Chrome without having to lose 5-20 seconds of my life waiting. Sometimes even more which is very frustrating for a daily user like me. Believe me I never open too many files to work in one, but it happens as if I did.

I can sound crazy, but I'm not. I'm just frustrated by this I'm having problems. I'm not rich guy immediately buy new laptop. I'm very sentimental. I want to solve this problem and to let go of this problem that seems awkward to me. Please help guys.

    Thank you.

  • Source and program monitors crashing in the first

    Hey all.

So, unfortunately I seem to have problems of stability with Adobe Premiere CC 2015 (to date).

The source files are H.264 in a .mov container.

I am running Windows 10 but have experienced the same problem yesterday in Windows 7.

    I use the EMT.

So here's the deal. I was running really slow and repeated performance crashing (just the program monitor and source and also of the whole program). I was pulling my hair out with frustration and decided to pull the trigger on a new computer. (Yes, I know... the upgrade to solve problems of crash was probably not the best idea, especially without the problem of the first widely).

    My old computer:

    Windows 7

    AMD Athlon II X 4 630 @ 2.8 ghz

    12 GB OF RAM

    NVIDIA GTX 460 768 GB

    New computer:

    Windows 10

    Intel i7 4790 @ 3.6 ghz

    24 GB RAM

NVIDIA GT 720 1 GB (the OEM mobo dislikes my GTX 460 [known issue] and I plan to get a GTX 960 or GTX 970 tomorrow)

I've been editing, completely blown away by how smooth first and After Effects were running; a pleasure to scrub through the timeline in PP and time real AE RAM previews. Then, just before you go home at night, the program and the source monitor crashed.

On my old computer, it meant that they became black. On the new computer they're going grey (sometimes the source monitor panel displays "media forward"). On both computers, the playhead moves and audio isn't yet.

I do not regret my upgrade, I know that it was overdue. However, it is a bit disheartening that I expected the upgrade of instability to do a thing of the past (I do not claim that it was smart thinking lol).

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

PS. After the program monitor and the source of watching the crash, the program does not freeze. I tried switching back and forth between Composite and Mulitcam (in the program monitor) or Composite and Audio Waveform (in the Source monitor Panel) to try to jog it in work and that does not work. On the old computer, when I was finally closed PP to relaunch a dialogue accident would seem, but not up to what I chose to close the program to reboot (little strange, right?). On the new computer, the only time where he arrived so far (less than 90 minutes to play in the first), it didn't pop up with a dialog to crash, it just closed as usual. I don't remember if the dialog crash on the old computer had an error code.

Change the name of mov to mpeg extension and see if it will help.

I'm not upgrading to W10 and have no problem with the nikon files and cc15. I'm a little skeptical W10.

  • P100-115 linux / gpu question

Yesterday, I installed suse 10.1 on my P100-115 (T2300, nvidia 7600). Installation went smothly and everything works. But after a while I noticed that the fan on the left side never turns (I guess that's for the graphics card). I thought this nvidia driver will help, so I installed. After that I installed the driver I could see the temperature of the GPU, and it was 85 C I tried a game and he climbed above 90 C. I started to go back to windows and the fan on the left began to blow immediately with a max speed, so I guess it was a little warm inside :). Now, I would like to know if anyone had similar problems on linux (I hope that someone else is using linux). And also I noticed that the rear fan starts running when the CPU temperature reached 65 C. Isn't this a bit high. Anyone know if it is possible to check the temperature of the GPU in windows. I tried a few programs, but they all only to see CPU temp (ACPI)

    Hello

The nVidia Driver indicates the current temperature in Windows.

  • Don't update the graphics drivers Vista 64 ('Access denied' / 80070005)

This has been quite a problem persisting for a while now and I'm not about to set. I have two points of Dell (a desktop and a laptop), both using Vista 64 and nVidia Quadro graphics cards and both have same problem. Earlier, a driver update attempted to settle on Windows Update, but it failed, citing the 80070005 error. After the next restart, completely graphics card drivers did not work at all, forcing windows to return to the graphics compatibility mode. New attempts to update or reinstall the drivers of graphics cards were just as futile. I tried both Windows Update and a downloaded version of nVidia drivers but none worked (the more I get in the way of error messages, it is "Access denied"). I also tried to completely uninstall the drivers and by removing the device in Device Manager, but still no luck. At the end of the day, I did a system restore, but this is not ideal, because the recommended update reappeared in Windows Update again and I have to keep it from settling each time that manually.

After fishing trawl the internet for advice, I tried all sorts but in vain. I tried to disable my Anti Virus, using subinacl (and others) to restore registry permissions, rename the softwaredistributions folder, run in administrator mode, check the permissions of the update service and checking the status of execution protection. Nothing helps, so any suggestions are appreciated.

  • HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-ab06: updating graphics card?

Hi, I'm practiacally again the hardware upgrade on computers.

I just had a question about how to upgrade the graphics card.

Currently, I have an AMD of A10 image (1.8 to 3.2 GHz) processor with Radeon graphic card and shared memory.

I bought this computer in the hope that I could add a Nvidia Geforce to help with my games and 3d modeling/design.

But recently, I came across another post here with basically the same problem, except that the client had an i3 with graphics card intel shared.  He had the same question as me, but I was told that there is nothing that could be done, because the graphics were integrated into the CPU. I'm almost posotive that it's the same for me. Is it possible, however, to do this disable in the BIOS and add material? Heck, I don't know yet has baseboard to a slot for it, or if the case can fit the card.

Please, I would like to know if it's even worth my time, or if I should just put up with what I have.

    Thanks in advance,

    -Ryan

Your thought is correct. The video is part of the processor in your AMD A10. It is called a "APU" because it contains the processor and the video. You have the APU albums available for your model, so there is no possible upgrade. And you also have reason to question where you can even put a kind of video card. There is no slot on the motherboard and no place in the chassis for such a thing, even if it was of a 'thing' that is not. Stick with what you have.
