  and then I tried to enter the following command at the command prompt run as administrator

  I hope someone here can help me. I tried everything I can.

  Here's the situation. My connection was fine, when suddenly my computer turns off (it's happened). When I turned it back on I had no connection. I ran Network Diagnostics and tried every suggested repair. So I called At & t tech support and we checked everything he could think of. The last thing we did was an "ipconfig" and found that my ip address has been starting by 169. He believed meant that my network card was bad.  Also, after running the network diagnostics, he said "there could be a problem with 1 or more network adapters on this computer.

  I did everything that is obvious.  I ran the ethernet cable directly to the top of the tower.  Ive took my laptop to the library with a free internet connection.  It certainly is a problem in the laptop, not the router or cable or internet service.  I tried a system restore - but he said no changes, I downloaded and reinstalled the driver, I checked that the parameters of intellectual property have been updated with automotive and DHCP is enabled, and I have disabled the firewall. I went to the store and got an adapter wireless usb - no difference.

  Someone on another site recommended I try this: I did an ipconfig release & renew, I also did winsock.

  I haven't downloaded service pack 1, but I had to update automatic, put in place all the time, that ive had the computer.

  Anyone have any idea what could be the problem?

  If 127.0.0.1 shows a timeout of the request then the problem is with the NIC itself.  There are a few steps I want to confirm, however, because I want to make sure that everything in this information also indicates this issue.

  1. To answer your question from the previous mission, you have a NETWORK adapter for the WIRELESS CONNECTION and a map NETWORK DISTINCTE for setting UP a CONNECTION.  We will work on the 1st wireless.
  2. High without cables connecting the set UP a CONNECTION to the router from a command prompt type PING 127.0.0.1 and check if you get a request to the time again.  Let us know if you get a different answer.
  3. Click on the ROUND of Start / Select NETWORK / NETWORK and SHARING CENTER / manage network connections / - you should see two listed WLAN cards - one is the wired network card and the other is for the wireless network connection
  4. Double-click the wired connection of card - on the tab general it is an option for more details
  5. What we need to put you in this information is Description - which should be the manufacturer of the card DHCP active Yes/No - what the address next to the IPV4 IP ADDRESS: something similar to 192.168.1.7 We also address of IPV4 default GATEWAY; and the MASK of the subnet IPV4 address

  I would check the cable carefully.  Sometimes, some of the wires are loose from the plug.  See if the laptop can connect to cables in other places.  If possible, the problem is with the cable and not on your computer.

  Hello Andrea,

  To me it seems that you don't have an Internet connection so you always connected to the router but if you can access Internet t. You should look in the router configuration to see if it s is connected correctly.

  Try also updating the firmware on your router and disable security features to test this situation.

  Last but not least, you should try too update the wireless adapter driver. It can be downloaded on the official page of Toshiba. :)
