I have problems with my laptop HP 2000. The screen stays black, even if the computer works properly. I can get the computer to function normally on an external monitor. I have problems of determination of the root of the problem, based on my research on the internet. The laptop has an LED screen, so I'm blends information on the question of whether the laptop has a faulty inverter. I didn't have to go through the trouble to buy and install a new LED screen if the problem is simpler than that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The laptop is 2 months out of his factory warranty, so I hope to buy part and do the work myself. Thank you.

  • Pavilion g6t-2000 black screen & Sleep Mode problem

    Features of the laptop:
Name: HP Pavilion g6t-2000 CTO Notebook

    CPU: Intel I3 - 2370 m 2.4 GHz, Intel HD 3000

GPU: AMD Radeon HD m 7670

    OS: Windows 7 64-bit

So over the past two weeks, I have been having a problem with my laptop after installation of an update to the beta with my GPU driver. Whenever I put my computer to sleep mode and turn on I get a black screen. The computer is turned on and set to lock the screen, so if I typed my password, it'll make the connection noise. Also, if I look at the right angle, I see a very dimmed screen which is there before I moved it in mode 'sleep'. Strangely when I put the laptop in hibernate mode and turn back on the screen is fine.

    Things I've tired:

    • Removed the beta driver and the GPU of HP drivers installed via the HP website
    • Update BIOS f.25 (latest driver)
    • Changed the power of options such as checking to see if hybrid sleep is turned off
    • Check the BIOS, it is very little options and none has to do with my problems. Only thing I can see on BIOS is to change the boot priority and enable and disable the little features like "fan always on / off", etc.
    • Running sfc/scannow

On a side note, my laptop has been dropped about a week BEFORE the update to the beta GPU on a foot of my bed. "Sleep" mode was not affected by what I know. I was also reading autour on a power inverter and there may be possible that it has been damaged and if you think it is maybe it how can I test it? Thank you.

I finally got the time to do a restore on my HP Pavilion laptop factory g6t-2000 settings and after doing a test with the AMD drivers, I discovered that drivers AMD were the problem holding my laptop to wake up full-screen mode 'sleep'. Thank you very much for your help AxshunJaxun.

I recommend to not install the AMD drivers and once you do and that you do not have a restore point the only solution is a factory restore settings.

  • Portege 7220 and windows 98. Black screen installation

    Hello

I am facing this problem when I try to install win98 on the machine above Portege 7220 (/ PIII650/64/12/13 t/M), following on its docking station...

I boot from a floppy disk and cd rom (e:\) access in order to run the installer of windows 98SE. Once I typed e:\setup.exe I get a black screen and the computer crashes. However I can install windows NT or 2000 on this machine, and also the windows 98SE cd works ok on other computers, i.e. no black screen!

No idea what is the problem?

    Thanks in advance,
    Bar

    Hi Bar

Please do not be angry on me, but I have to ask you something. Did you use Win98SE full version or simply update CD for Win98?

It may be that your CD is scratched! Then please try another new CD or another OS as W2k!

  • Satellite P200D - black screen and does not just by running

    Hello everyone, I have a Toshiba Satellite P200D - 107 PSPBLE with configuration set-aside:

    Processor: Turion x 2 TL - 52 64-bit clocked at 1.6 Ghz
    Display: 17.3 inch
Graphics card: Ati radeon x 1200
    RAM: 2 x 512 MB ram (1 GB total) which I upgraded to 1 x 2000 MB and 1 x 512 MB (for a total of 2.5 GB)
OS: FACTORY CD WINDOWS VISTA HOME PREMIUM 32-BIT
Power: Running on the direct power without the battery cable

Although the pc is quite old sound fundamentally new barely there 1 year of normal use on it.

    PROBLEM:

The screen goes black (no), even if the screen still has the backlight running, the laptop is still under tension, but its basically in a kind of deep hibernation with the fan running yet.
The laptop screen turns off 5-10 minutes after windows loads, even if in idle, it also stops during installation of the operating system.
I tried to run the music and the music stops when the screen goes black made all the hard disk activity which I believe indicates that it is not related to the video chip.

    TRIED SO FAR:

    1. open up the computer laptop and cleaned all dust processor, now CPU temp is 50 max, even for hard disk
    2. update the bios to the original to 1.70 - did not help
3 connected external monitor also stops it the same time as the laptop screen indicating it is not not a screen issue
    4 reinstall OS several times
5 tested memory with memtest64 - no error
    6. test the hard drive with hddregenerator - no error

    What I've noticed:

If I leave just a 512 MB of ram in the laptop then the laptop stops not at all even in windows applications, tried to launch a game to remove video card and it works without problem for hours, but as soon as I add the stick of 2 GB or another origianal 512 stick it will go inside the black screen 5-10 min (or earlier) to get into windows.

He never stops in dos mode (as in memtest, hddregen) even with 2.5 GB of ram.

After that the screen goes black, if I stopped and then try to save, it it won't work at all, the screen stays black with the fan spinning and boot CD, I must absolutely disconect the power cord power and re - set before it starts again.

Anyone has any ideas, I am experienced with the pc, but have never stumbled upon something so weird that I have just can't explain this problem that came straight from heaven.

Toshiba to wake up, this forum is a total joke, you would think that you would be able to afford hiring a bunch of technicians to actually help people rather than rely on the users of the forum to do your work for your, you don't need to have a forum, if you don't have the staff to actually help people solve their problems.

  • I'm not like WIndows 8 on my new HP laptop 2000-2c29WM

I just bought a HP laptop 2000-2c29WM with Windows 8 64 bit OS on it and I don't like it at all. Can I downgrade the OS by the reinstallation of WIndows 7? I have a full copy I bought for my last laptop that has been destroyed. And where could I find the hardware drivers?

    HEY Jf,

You can certainly 'back' to Windows 7 - some people and in your case, the drivers for your computer are still available for the change is possible without pain.

If you think about some of the reasons to stay with this new great operating system, please take a look at some of the ways you can do Windows 8 a little more comfortable while you "make friends" with her.

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Windows 8 has many new features, many of which are visible on the 'front end' where the boot screen took the place of the Start Menu button.

There are some immediate things you can do that make it easier to navigate in this start screen:

    • Whenever you need to find something - a program, application, or a file, you can go to the screen start dragging your finger (for touch screens) or your mouse to the lower left corner of the screen.  Once the splash screen is up and running and you can see your 'charms and tiles' (large icons), just start tapping anywhere on the screen for the 'thing' you're looking for.  It's your new method of ' search and type ".  You can use whole words, of words, any pieces that you think you need.
    • Consider using the Windows key to make things easier to find and easier tasks.  The Windows key by itself displays the splash screen, the Windows key in combination with other keys do all kinds of cool stuff:

    Keyboard shortcuts in Windows

    Windows key + X

    • If you like the start screen and think you want to do even better, then you can customize it!

Tiles and charms of Windows 8

    • New Windows 8 Connection Options include the choice to open a session in Windows 8 using your password to Microsoft Account OR the standard 'Stand Alone' connection to the personal computer.  On the surface of things the Microsoft Account login account synchronized sounds wonderful; a lot of people want to take advantage of the opportunities offered.  BEWARE OF USERS!  If ever you thought maybe it's time to use a better, intelligent and more secure password, it is at this time.

Understand that if you do not use the Microsoft connection, you can ALWAYS easily connect to your Microsoft account later when you need access to the Microsoft store.  If you use the Windows 8 connection depends on how you decide to use the home screen (sometimes called 'Metro' screen) the installation program and the level of connectivity, you need for your Social Media environment.

    • If you like most of the charms (those little smart bar icons popping up with you poke your mouse in the corners), then you can use them as intended.  If it makes you crazy that whenever you move the mouse (finger) in the corner of the screen the charms rise and get in the way, then you can disable the feature:

    • Email POP3 is a little weird - not everything works the way it has in the past.  However, some of them does not work, and it helps to understand what is available:

    • It is therefore important to have backups!  So many people wait until it's too late.

HP - backup of your files (Windows 8) computers

    • The 'file history' backup in Windows 8 is a new very cool feature you can easily configure to save backups of your data on an external drive.  For example, you might have a mini-tower, a Pocket Player or a USB drive connected to your computer that you can use for backups.  You can use a NAS (Network Attached Storage) system, if you have one in your office (home).

Example of a network address NAS drive would include the IP address of your local NAS drive, the main folder available for backup and maybe a local folder dedicated for your own files:

    \\192.168.0.1\Data\Dragon-Fur_History

The backup of default history file intercepts files in your "libraries", contacts and favorite settings and runs a new backup to update every hour all that has changed, i.e. "changed" since the last time that the data has been added to the backup.  Nice.  Under "Advanced settings", you can change the duration between two backups in different groups of ten minutes to once a day.

You can easily add folders to the history of the leader, by adjusting, files that are in your 'libraries' setting.

NOTE: If you have a number of files in "libraries" that you maintain for your convenience, and you do not require these files to save to history files, you can always "exclude" these folders of the backup by using the feature "exclude".

If space on your external drive is at a premium, consider reducing the number of versions you want to keep.  Under Advanced settings, just to the right side, under where you decide how long to keep your backups, click "Clean up versions" > remove anything, you can live without.

Creation of recovery disks or saving a recovery Image on a USB drive (Windows 8)

    • After all what you know on the screen start, made you want to live without it?  Do you think this "feeling of Windows 7?

    6. Start Menu replacement for Windows 8

    • Don't forget that Windows 8 start faster, too - you'll be operational more quickly with Windows 8 and on your way to what you want to do!
    • All new software coming out - HP and Microsoft will be in the future, be centered on Windows 8 and beyond.  When you are looking for support, most of the applications, the most recent printing software, even the possibility to connect your computer to the rest of the world will depend on more a updated, connected and secure environment.  Windows 8 helps provide this path to the future.

  • Microsoft Lifecam VX-2000 shows black video when the software is installed

    Original title: Microsoft Lifecam VX-2000

I just bought and followed the installation instructions to install and operate the lifecam vx-2000.

I tried first to find this product on the support webpage itself, but it has not been listed with the other lifecams. I have no idea why, because he is supposed to be a site of support for their products...

My computer meets the requirements for the software.

However, after the installation, I opened the microsoft lifecam software, the program screen is black.

There is no error message. Just a black screen.

I uninstalled the program and tried to connect the webcam without software and when I opened it upward through Skype video settings to see if she would recognize the camera - he did.

So I'm a bit puzzled as to why the software will not work with the camera.

Thus, once the software is loaded on the computer, the video from the camera stops working, until the program is removed once more my computer.

A little disappointed and do not know how to solve this problem.

Any suggestions or methods to solve this problem will be appreciated.

  • Black screen and 3 beeps

I need help my dell inspiron 3520 attachment. After that I had windows 10, at the time wherever I turned it there is black screen. I did what I found to help out, but it never really helped and continued. I finally had a moment off the coast to come so I have this chance to restart and clean my data. The next day, when I pressed the power button the laptop not only just but black screen beeps 3 too.

I solved the problem... Well, it's a solution that worked...

First of all, ignore the stupid answer from Microsoft Engineer.

It's a logic problem, and I have a solution! I thought that an update or a function of Windows 10 had done something to the Bios through a reboot of the update or driver. No mater what you do it is the cold death of Pierre. I remembered an old trick on the servers of HP to bring back them to life after a Bios update has failed.

    1. On an other PC Download the last update of the BIOS I think it was A10 (you need as soon as you get the brick working again)
    2. Now it's time to bring him back from the dead - you need to clear the CMOS data that has BEEN CORRUPTED by windows update 10. It is not for the faint hearted however.
    3. The laptop, if you don't know how to ask an adult to the top of the band or the search you tube.
    4. Remove the memory (as an option, but I did it in all cases), laptop PC battery, power supply, HD and finally the CMOS backup battery.
    5. Now in the old days we used to short-circuit the battery terminals to clear any residual capacitor each; but now it seems you can just hold down power button for 1 minute to throw the capacitors.
    6. Resemble the laptop, don't button it just yet as it has a few attempts to get it to stick.
    7. It lights up!, be patient as it takes time to set the BIOS. After a few minutes, you should see the Dell boot loader (if you don't try power cycling a few times. If it starts with 3 beeps and then repeat step 4-7 again.
    8. If she comes back to life let it boot into windows and connect with admin account.
    9. before you do anything for another update of the A10 bios (I had A03). It will force a reload and start to update of the BIOS routine. Follow the instructions...
    10. Let it boot into Windows and do a test charge, it should be OK with Windows 10 and as long you do not did something stupid already trying to solve this should be ok.

Notes: I found the BIOS to fix this problem, after a few false starts. I had the laptop work and on each turning off the BIOS was screed by something W10 wrote. As soon as I updated the BIOS, it was fine. It's a new one on me; but I'm not technical more so don't know how windows starts now from Windows 2000.

Hope this helps, my son is now happy and I was reinstated as omniscient God IT in our House, I told him, he thinks he knows about computers. but I forgot more than he knows. Old school rules :-)
