  Sorry for the problem you are experiencing.

  This blue screen is called BSOD - Windows self-protection function sort. If you received a blue error screen, or a stop code, the computer stopped abruptly to protect against data loss. A hardware device, its driver or software might have caused this error. What you describe could be incompatible with the Windows driver (more often) or because of material issue (rarely).

  According to your description, I understand that when you use Windows 10 on the same device there is no BSOD, but when you use Windows 7, the BSOD occurs regularly. But you do not want to use Windows 10 and prefer Windows 7.

  If this is the case, I suggest you uninstall all software 3rd party (such as antivirus/security programs, for example) and also to update all your drivers using HP Support Assistant - this is a useful free tool from HP. Here's how:

• Yoga 2 - 1050 screen Dim/book icon w / stars arises just before

  New show with my Yoga 2-1050. No idea if this is a bug or a setting I find more hours of trying. Only since yesterday, the screen greyed out in two steps and white have something of a brownish hue now. No idea where it would not be in the settings, but I spent a few hours trying to find it and can't. My stuff Adaptive everything stops. Just before the screen fades, a little icon of a book with stars jumps to the top of the bottom, then the screen becomes dim. No option to click on it. I checked my document readers and none of them have an option for this. Only applications that disables what are the camera and Gallery, but at the point where I support out of them, the icon comes back, screen fades. What is the story here?   The little book you make refers to is the smart switch to Lenovo. It is controlled through settings or via the drop down menu on the main screen central. You can ignore it so that you can control brightness levels. When in mode auto, it is a bit erratic, but I find it seems to respond more to the position of the stand that the rotation of the screen.   For the issue of the brightness, there should be two key that looks like a Sun. Press FN + brighten or dim your screen. For your power options, go to control panel and select Power Options and see what choices are available to you.

  I think I might have made some progress with this problem. I had a friend call me and he suffered from these same questions. The partial solution (and probably most) I've discovered is that there is a critical update of the BIOS that had not been done. Because Windows 10 was already installed, it didn't appear on the page to Support HP or HP update software. The way I had the time it was to say the HP website that I had Windows 8.1. The update then appeared. I downloaded the BIOS for its model was last updated and installed. (BTW: it worked great in Windows 10). Once I've upgraded, the dark screen problem has been resolved. However, as long as the screen saver, night light or auto Hibernate still does not work. You can manually put the computer to sleep via a button or the start menu, and he returned very well. His was an AMD based all-in-one and I don't remember not if someone had problems with the Intel based platforms.

• Computer laptop screen dimmed permanently

  I have a HP Pavilion dv6 laptop. At startup, the HP logo and start windows, screens are normal maximum intensity, but as soon as the desktop shows that it is remarkably low. Brightness is set to full.
