• 2007 Mac Pro screens with pixelated strange habits travel & can't access files or applications.

  Have a 2007 Mac Pro 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon (OS 10.7.5). Today both screens started having strange pixelated, modes of travel, and we can not access files or applications.

  Thought that maybe the video card went bad, but would not be prevented from using the apps, or click files would it? Have to keep restarting the box. Working temporarily, then pixilation and locked files races again.

  Ideas or suggestions?  Don't know how to solve problems

  I suspect that the pixilation is due to a video card problem.

  Open the cover, with Mac off nd unplugged and clean inside. If the map includes a fan make sure it turns freely.

  -What do mean by "we can't access files or applications? What is going on?

  So, I can't decrease or brighten my screen with function key. Although things like the volume and function key still works.

  Someone at - it suggestions that I could try? I can't see all the options on how to resolve this problem within the program of 5500 intel HD or in my AMD catalyst thing.

  Can you please tell us which model of laptop and operating system do you use?
  Are you using the original operating system that you got with your machine or you have installed the clean version?

• Laptop battery and screen Dim

  Laptop is Vista Dell Inspiron 1420. My adapter/load came out. I always plugged in b/c my screen was so hard to see dim. When it is plugged in, the light was bright. Got new adapter/charger and in a clogged filter still dim and the battery icon does not load. It says "42%" and your current plan may reduce the battery life. What does that mean? What should I do on the issue of the brightness?

  For the issue of the brightness, there should be two key that looks like a Sun. Press FN + brighten or dim your screen. For your power options, go to control panel and select Power Options and see what choices are available to you.

  When I turn the brightness down on my screen on the left side of the screen fades more than the rest. Its really noticeable. One side of the white screen is white, but on the other hand, looks like a dim gray.

  Is this normal when brightness is rejected in full, because when the brightness is enough it seems level across the screen. Or is it a sign that the screen is endangered?

• Satalite 1110: Screen dimming because of the cover button

  I have a portable Satalite 1110.

  It's old but works great but the small switch that is there to detect the lid being closed cheek upward...

  It the screen keeps going dim (almost extinct) trying to save energy when the lid is closed... but of course the cover is not closed!

  If I press the button several times, the screen turns on but it's very tedious...

  I'm afraid that you can't say anything but may cut the cable and disconnect this button but please do not ask me how.

  Otherwise you can try to disable using the Toshiba power management utility. Check if the option when I close the lid has option no action.

• Yoga 2 - 1050 screen Dim/book icon w / stars arises just before

  New show with my Yoga 2-1050. No idea if this is a bug or a setting I find more hours of trying. Only since yesterday, the screen greyed out in two steps and white have something of a brownish hue now. No idea where it would not be in the settings, but I spent a few hours trying to find it and can't. My stuff Adaptive everything stops. Just before the screen fades, a little icon of a book with stars jumps to the top of the bottom, then the screen becomes dim. No option to click on it. I checked my document readers and none of them have an option for this. Only applications that disables what are the camera and Gallery, but at the point where I support out of them, the icon comes back, screen fades. What is the story here? It's now my second yoga 2, due to a bad screen on the first and the bugginess and poor documentation is pretty boring. Every day something new appears. PIC of the icon.   The little book you make refers to is the smart switch to Lenovo. It is controlled through settings or via the drop down menu on the main screen central. You can ignore it so that you can control brightness levels. When in mode auto, it is a bit erratic, but I find it seems to respond more to the position of the stand that the rotation of the screen.   I think I might have made some progress with this problem. I had a friend call me and he suffered from these same questions. The partial solution (and probably most) I've discovered is that there is a critical update of the BIOS that had not been done. Because Windows 10 was already installed, it didn't appear on the page to Support HP or HP update software. The way I had the time it was to say the HP website that I had Windows 8.1. The update then appeared. I downloaded the BIOS for its model was last updated and installed. (BTW: it worked great in Windows 10). Once I've upgraded, the dark screen problem has been resolved. However, as long as the screen saver, night light or auto Hibernate still does not work. You can manually put the computer to sleep via a button or the start menu, and he returned very well. His was an AMD based all-in-one and I don't remember not if someone had problems with the Intel based platforms.

  So, to summarize... If you have not installed 10 still make sure you BIOS update first. If you have goto, the Web site and enter your model. Replace the Windows 8.1 operating system. Download and install.

  Thank you for the information. You have enabled Developer options? The thing that comes to mind is the setting "Force RTL direction" via settings > Developer options > Force RTL direction.

  If you don't have the developer via parameters options go to settings > phone comments > press Build number 7 times and it should appear.

• Computer laptop screen dimmed permanently

  I have a HP Pavilion dv6 laptop. At startup, the HP logo and start windows, screens are normal maximum intensity, but as soon as the desktop shows that it is remarkably low. Brightness is set to full.

  It is not a question of monitor as a second monitor also shows that the same brightness. I tried to change options of PowerPlay of CCC and all the power plan settings in the display settings. Nothing has changed. Nothing changes on a restart. I've had this problem before, but stupidly did not record the solution once I found it.
