  • Updated the Windows 10 Qualcomm AR9485 Atheros Wifi Card Driver

Currently, I encounter a similar problem with my HP Envy 17 Qualcomm AR9485 Atheros wifi adapter. The ethernet connection works but not WiFi. I can only connect to wifi after I immediatnly reset my router. All other devices work with the router. If the HP Envy 17 goes to sleep or stay on for an extened period, it disconnects and is not able to reconnect to my network. I had a similar problem to connect to another wireless network.  I've updated, restored, disabled and reinstalled the drivers from the adapter to any wifi avil. I returned at various points system retore. I tried everything except uninstall Windows 10. The HP Envy 17 is longer under warranty. At this point, should I open the laptop and replace the wifi card, or is there something that I have not tried?

Thanks much for the reply, EmeraldAvenger. Yes, I tried all of your suggestions. It was never a red X in Device Manager. I tried different sleep mode power options and channels (1-11) on the router settings. I have reset the BIOS. I even contacted my ISP, who assured me that the issue was with my laptop, not the connection. The only way I could solve this problem was to remove the Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 wireless adapter and replace it with the wifi Intel 7260 inside my laptop adapter. I had no problem since since the swap. In fact, my connection is now faster and more reliable. I suggest to all who encounter this problem to just go ahead and replace the Atheros AR9485 Qualcomm. It is unforunate that HP has saddled 17 envy with this apparently faulty piece of equipment, but they have several useful videos on their support site to guide users how to disassemble their laptop.

  • Qualcomm AR9485 Atheros Wifi card driver updates?

    I have a laptop of HP2000 running Windows 8.1

I was hoping an update for this network card because I had problems with connectivity network for several weeks and several times the windows diagnostic resets this network adapter.

I get the notice via HPSA that there (2) updates to this network adapter.   I can download updates, but the installation failed on both and I don't know why or where to look to find out why.  Study now has me completely confused.  Here is what is currently installed on my laptop:

    Qualcomm-Atheros 802.11b/g/n WiFi AR9485 adapt

    SoftPaq number: SP65428

    Driver date: 12/11/2013

    Driver version: 10.0.0.274 (1.00Ap7)

This update of the driver was JUST installed on 14/04/2014 (3 weeks)

Here is the info on what HPSA watch are updated for this card-

Important updates, note first received Saturday, April 26, 2014

Updates download but would not install.

    * Qualcomm Atheros AR9000 series Wireless LAN Driver for MS Windows

    SoftPaq number: SP63802

    Version: 1.00Ap21

    Size: 73.89

    * Qualcomm AR9000 Atheros Wireless LAN Driver for MS Windows 8 series

    SoftPaq number: SP62425

    Version: 1.00Ap17

    Size: 38,27 MB

(research on hp.com for SP62425 the date this update 26/06/2013)

Both of these driver updates seem to be more OLD than what I currently installed?

If I go My HP account have my system scanned for updates, the SP65428 I have already installed is displayed. Neither HPSA showing that I should install appear on my updates.

I guess the question I have now, it is what is the most current, correct pilot and working for AR9485 of Qualcomm Atheros 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter?

And if that's what I have already installed it, why I received this notice am updates HPSA?

    Thank you.

By a post elsewhere in the Forums of HP, current updated driver are available at http://www.station-drivers.com/ .

    I downloaded and installed

    Version: 10.0.0.287

    Published 25/03/2014

and from this moment, everything seems to work properly.

I would still like someone to confirm that it is suitable for the AR9000 Qualcomm Atheros driver series network adapter for Windows 8.1.  And if I NOW the current driver is there a glitch in HPSA to send assignments to update driver irrelevant?

    Thank you!

  • PROBLEM with Atheros WIFI

    Hello!

Recently I bought the Acer Aspire V3 - 571G (production code: NX.) M67EL.002 / / I5, GT730m... ATHEROS!) and intalled OS Windows 7 64 bit and the drivers from the original DVD - wheres the Atheros driver version is 10.0.0.38.

Problem is that Atheros barely able to connect to my WiFi when I turned on the PC: 1 in 5 times it is connected as should be (without a problem, automatically); 3 of the 5 I needed to manually connect AND try up to 3 times (more than, I got the message error "Windows could not connect"); and 1 of 5, I had to restart my PC AGAIN!

Then I upgraded my drivers to 10.0.0.221 from HERE and he helped (I also enabled "11n" mode in the device - atheros for some reason Settings Manager, it has been decommissioned).

For 2 days, I had good connection! But yesterday, I sent my laptop to "sleep" so that I can easily turn it on before you go to work... and that was a bad idea - the problems came back. On my laptop, I had only 10.0.0.225 drivers 64-bit of Windows 8, but they have not helped, AND for some reason any my laptop not able to connect to internet with the wire! (although I did not test before connection cable)

Maybe someone had a problem like me and it is resolved?

And that means can't send my laptop 'Sleep' mode to turn on fast?

    Thank you!

    Hello again!

Recently, I was forced * to reinstall Windows 7 and the problem appeared again of course! God * beep *, I needed 1 hour just to install the network card, but I managed to do this: install 'WLAN_Atheros_10.0.0.225_Win8x64' drivers-> go to Device Manager and updated for the drivers Atheros AR5BWB222 win7 - 10.0.0.221 ! After this computer needs to be restarted AND everytime when the laptop cannot connect to the wireless network - you must go to the Device Manager and disconnect of the Qualcomm-Atheros - network adapter AND connect again!

These steps helped me - so I hope this will help others! Because I've seen a lot of reproach to the stability of the Atheros driver.

    * The reason was that CPU drivers (I hope not CPU itself) gone MAD! thread 2nd 2nd carrots went 100% usability (after about 30 minutes after the tunding ON Windows) and then blue screen of death Windows appeared (and then nothing could be opened and even Windows couldn't stop!)

  • Replace the Atheros WiFi card in HP G60T-500

Hi, several other users pointed out that there are questions compaitabilty router with the internal wireless card of Atheros who came into the HP G60T-500 and N Wireless routers so I thought I would replace the WiFi and I would appreciate your help.

HP requires whitelist cards only will everything work internal WiFi card in the G60T-500?

    Thank you

I have a modem router from Linksys WAG320N but expected something better. It is easy to configure for a connection high speed and have a lot of adjustment possibilities but a transmission of the signal is very poor. It is said that there are 3 antennas (internal I guess, don't see them) and I had trouble with a bad signal within a dish a few meters from the router. Genererally is not a bad router. I've seen a lot of recommendations for billions routers (modem router)...

The name of Cisco on Linksys products not always means reliability. I do not know which router I will buy as a replacement for the WAG320N in the future, but it would not be a Valet or Linksys. This D-Link good mine:

I have personally installed a new combo entered only the material of a third party wireless card

Both wireless and Bluetooth work as expected and the problem happens when I put the machine power off or reboot the system, Hibernate does not affect the operation of the device. When the system is rebooted / turned from cold start. Windows 8 displays a red X on the wireless icon and Bluetooth does not work. troubleshooting tool and Device Manager act as the device is installed correctly. I'm looking to solve this problem, I didn't notice any problem yet in the operating system other than windows 8.

I guess the problem with my card is out dated drivers for my wireless card.

    (SOLVED)

I at first sight, that this would not help, as it does not address the question, or the other.

1st stage however was a yellow triangle! Sign up for troubleshooting. reboot and I checked for internet/bluetooth. I got my net upward and did two step, windows told me, he had the best drivers for the device. I went to the menu where you select wireless cards then. and it occurred to me, for some reason my wireless card had been cut, and troubleshooting of windows didn't catch it. My G74SX, so now like with most laptops, has a Wireless on and off function, I pressed the button for this and then on my bluetooth and windows wireless. I then tested the function of these two, and did a reboot and shutdown, test market and the system works perfectly. Now, I wonder if that was the problem at the beginning.

  • Satellite Pro A40 - Atheros WiFi card can't find any network

Looking to correspond with anyone who did it successfully this device works. I repeatedly got messages that the system cannot find any network. With my PCMCIA card, wireless works perfectly.

    Advice requested

    Hey Buddy,

What is your WiFi card listed correctly in the Device Manager? Perhaps only the driver must be reinstalled and then you can use the internal WiFi card again. Here you can download the latest drivers:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

By the way: what OS are you using? If you install OS preinstalled Toshiba using the Toshiba recovery disc are all the drivers already installed, and you should be able to use the internal WiFi card.

  • HP 15-f039wm: Re: qualcomm-atheros wifi adapter does not work with windows 8

    Hello HP support.

I have a HP 15-f039wm, product J8X12UA #ABA, running Windows 8.1.  I like it, but I thought I could improve it by upgrading to 8 GB, installation of a 240 GB SSD and move the 500 GB HARD disk to an external USB adapter.  So far, so good, so very jolly good.

I also wanted to upgrade the Wi - Fi adapter to a faster power adapter with Bluetooth 4.0, but instead to get the AC7260 from Intel, I settled for a Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 with the Bluetooth BT3012 device, which belongs to a HP, I think.

I shouldn't have paid.  Too late, I learned that the Atheros AR9485 has major compatibility problems.  Microsoft compatibility survey shows that some 530 speakers, 357 note as incompatible AR9485.

This pair Bluetooth adapter and connects with my cell phone, but it remains connected for less than a minute before it disconnects.  It does not connect with something else I have.  It does not recognize my Bluetooth phone earpiece, and he recognizes that rarely my Bluetooth keyboard, with which it will pair but it never connects.

The keyboard is a deal breaker - a must - have - and something really nice.  I tried the same Bluetooth keyboard sold by comb and Arteck jelly and a similar one by the EC technology, which has the top two rows of keys merged into one.  They connect immediately with an IPhone 4, but none of the three would be in contact with the BT3012 in my HP 15 - f039wm.

Microsoft recommends the most recent drivers as a fix for incompatibility issues.  I downloaded the NIC drivers and card with Bluetooth Bluetooth drivers for the AR9485/BT3012 of http://www.station-drivers.com .  That updated the Qualcomm Bluetooth driver version 8.0.1.273, date from mid-2013, that came with the BT3012 (AR9485) Microsoft version of the driver 8.0.1.344 card, day 23/04/15.  Even still, it connects to my cell phone but nothing else.

"Allow Windows to turn off this device to save power" is not checked for the adapter.  I also ran the 'netsh' command to clear the TCP/IP stack and reset the Winsock Catalog.  I have no intend to restore Windows to the factory; before that I would, I would get the Intel AC7260 more expensive card - that I probably do anyway, given the record of the incompatibility of the Qualcomm Atheros AR9485/BT3012.  I do not expect to change this folder, no matter what I do.

    But I'm open to suggestions.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to investigate this problem.

    Hi @gospelmidi,

    Thank you for your inquiry.

I take that you have swapped the hard drive and replaced the original card wireless and Bluetooth with the Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 with the Bluetooth BT3012 device and cannot associate with something other than your cell phone.  You tried to reset the TCP/IP stack, but there was no change.

Did you run HP Support Assistant to ensure you have all the updates from HP?

Have you tried to run the troubleshooter in Windows?

Alternatively, you can try the following steps.

Step 1. Go to Device Manager
Step 2. Right click on "Bluetooth device" you want
Step 3. Select "update driver software... »
Step 4. Choose "Browse my computer for driver software".
Step 5. Choose "Let Me pick from a list of drivers for devices on my computer.
Step 6. Select "Ports (COM & LPT)"
Step 7. Select "Microsoft" to the list of "manufacturers".
Step 8. Finally select "Standard series via a Bluetooth connection.

If you are unable to connect to a Bluetooth device, try the following:

Step 1. Search for 'Change device' in the start menu in Windows 8.
Step 2. Click on where it says change device installation settings.
Step 3. Select No, let me choose what to do option.
Step 4. Check the automatically get the device app option
Step 5. Click on save changes to save the settings that you select

    So, you can try this

Step 1: Go to RUN (Windows Logo + R) and type "services.msc" and Enter
Step 2: Now find 'Bluetooth Support Service' and double click it
Step 3: Now click on the Log on tab and type "Local Service" without the quotes
    Step 4. Click on "account".
Step 5: Now remove any authorization of passwords the password field blank
Step 6: Below the upper left title should be a hyperlink 'Start' click

If the problem here is a link to HP 15 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service of Guide for your laptop.  Please note Chapter 3, page 17, section 17 for recommended replacement cards.

  • Qualcomm-atheros wifi adapter

I recently went down to 8.1 Windows to windows 7, after doing this realized I could only connect to WPA personal networks, but at school were ihave a username and password for access to the network, I can not connect. When I went down just I had to download the driver for hp but I don't get all of the features I got when using windows 8

    Hi Peterson,

    Thanks for the reply.

It indicates there is an incompatibility of drivers. When I checked the drivers for Windows 8, I see two drivers Ralink and qualcomm Atheros. I also checked the drivers for Windows 7 64/32 bit, I see Ralink drivers available. As you downgraded to Windows 7 Windows 8.1 system, I suggest you to check with the two drivers, if you are using another system. If please download the two drivers and keep it in a player flash then uninstall the drivers for Windows 7 and try to install the USB drivers in Windows 7 and check. Once you have finished, try to access the internet and let us know if the problem persists.

    Thank you.
