BlackBerry Smartphones Vodafone Branding / possible no. E-Mail Setup

Hello

my friend gives me a BB Curve 8310 older Vodafone. In the documentation was written, it was very easy to add your e-mail accounts. But I only have the possibility to use the BB Enterprise Server.

Can someone help me?

Do I now install the software from the manufacturer one another and where can I get them?

Thanks for your help! :-)

Do you have a data Plan BlackBerry enabled on your account with your carrier or mobile provider?

You have to, to get the push RIM email functions you are looking for, as well as services of BlackBerry data such as the Web browser, Facebook for BlackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger and much more.

Then call your carrier and you learn about to have added to your account BlackBerry data Plan.

Good luck.

  • BlackBerry 8820 Blackberry Smartphones is missing its icon "e-mail setup".

My wife is this BB online, unlocked.   We live in an area that is a little behind the curve and our data GSM service is almost useless.  8820 was chosen because of the wifi which can connect to most of the places she goes.

I had a few problems of implementation.  The phone ' 100% brand-new "which has been listed as if by magic on ebay got some inside information.  The seller swears that it was due to a careless technician during the unlocking process.  I don't know if the problems I have now are remnants of the unlocking process.

That being said, here is my question.  I'm new to the BB so patient with me.  We do NOT use data of moble data GSM from our supplier.  As far as our carrier is concerned, it is a phone.  We use wifi to browse in the House and we would read our email POP of our Web site.  I have configured outlook for these e-mail accounts.  We are NOT a large company and do NOT have that one full IT Department to keep this thing running.

I have no icon for 'email facility.  I have read many posts on the issue and have had little result.  I checked in options-> advanced-> applications.   It shows 'installation application 4.5.0 email' but I have no way to setup e-mail account a simple POP.

The basic software and Blackberry system is 4.5.0

    Where is my icon!

I'm saying this is a simple request, lets get this work so that we can for the really difficult things.

    Thanks for your time

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

The icon, what you are talking about is the interface for device for BIS. BIS is BlackBerry Internet Service, a service offered by your operator, to build a bridge between your BB and e-mail systems connected to the internet. BIS is a service provider that comes with the data of your carrier plan. Your carrier think your device is just a phone, they are not then providing data on your phone, which means that the icon is not there since it is linked to your provider data services.

Which, therefore, it must be, isn't the e-mail provided by BIS services. You need something else... a 3rd party email, compatible with your BB app, which will allow you to email (via their interface - without going through BB messaging interface) on your WiFi only and never on the cover of your company's data. Frankly, I don't know quite how to do this, especially for your email private pop There are probably some solutions out there - you should dig for those rather than a method of configuring e-mail on BIS.

GMail offers an add-on app, compatible with a lot of BB, which manages the GMail e-mail. I don't know if it works on WiFi only, but you who could give a thought. You would have to do something to get your e-mail to GMail, but at least you will be able to validate if an app of the add-on can exist without a data network of carriers being required. If you want to try, just use your BB browser to go to the GMail login page and there will be a link that says something like 'More quickly get the GMail'... click on that and it will install the add-on to GMail for your BB. Make sure that you already have a GMail account set up to configure it in the app and run the test.

You can also try to configure your e-mail account webmail interface... then you might browse their via WiFi using the BB browser.

    Just some thoughts...

    Good luck!

Hello and welcome to the community!

With a strong carrier network (for example, not only WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message from your BB... Please wait just before moving on to the next step):

    1) register HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    2) Remove and return Service books

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    3) restart

    • With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes.
    • See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you should try remove and re-add your configurations for the relevant accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile provider to support formal... consider that you pay for your services and official support and now they seem not to be to deliver. They have even the power to escalate your case officially until BlackBerry if they can't solve it, but you have does them not you fob off the coast with things like "it seems" good on our end... they are responsible for the provision of services to you, you pay for it.

    Good luck!

    Hello

    Help me!

I want to restore the mail which is missing, because I did not know that after the passage of 30 days, email is eliminated.

Are there methods to restore it?

I use BB to the Japan.

I visited a few special restoration contractor, but I can't find anything.

I am involved because I wonder that there may be some methods.

    Hey sakimono21,

Welcome to the community of BlackBerry Support Forums.

    Thanks for the question.

My apologies, without a backup there will not be a way to restore e-mails.  You have e-mail messages saved on your computer or your webmail?  If you do, you can send to yourself and they will be received on the BlackBerry smartphone.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

    See you soon.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones missing BIS on the e-mail configuration option

When the phone started there was an option to configure the e-mail via BIS or BES. I had to cancel because I wasn't sure of what was our e-mail configuration. Now that I'm going through the Setup Wizard > e-mail setup only 1 options appears for the email of the company. How and where can I I install this feature for BIS since we do not have a company server.

    Thank you.

You can try to restore the missing option by the reinstatement of your device. Go to Options | Advanced options | The host routing table. Select the "BOLD" in the list entry, hit, you're menu button, then choose Save now. Subsequently, reset your unit by removing the battery for 1 minutes and replace it to let the device will restart.

If that is not to bring the options you can configure a BIS account via your BIS carrier Web site: http://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim/board/message?board.id=8300&message.id=13773

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BB of replacement, now e-mail won't install.

    Hello

Is owner of a BB since last May. I just had to get my deviced replaced due to hardware problems. I've been able to restore most of my data by using a backup file I created in October, so I only lost the last three months of a value. I use my BB for the better part of my email contact with my Yahoo Email account. Now that I have the new device, I can't email to work.

I went into the Setup Wizard and click "e-mail settings."

I choose the option to use an existing e-mail account. It opens then the internet "e-mail setup. I have two options, "New users" and "existing users".  New users option gets me nowhere exccept a screen that says ' you have already setup an account with this device. The existing user option requires a username and password, I give my Yahoo account. It says name login/password invalid. I am at a loss.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

What you need to do is get your BIS (controlled by your operator) shifted from your BB old account to the new. Your control of your BIS account provider - I suggest that you contact to see when they complete the shift of this account for you.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones without the possibility to add 3rd party mail the storm 2?

Had a storm for a while, just a storm 2 on Verizon using BES. On my storm, I had the opportunity to bond with my yahoo email account by adding a new email address - even on the 2, the option to add that a 3rd party mail program's gone - and can only use the BB internet service for mail. No there is no way to add 3rd party now mail without using their direct shipping service?

Welp - I can do this by forcing of the BIS to connect to this account, that is the result I was looking for, rather than installation of message.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones cannot send or receive e-mails from 10/23

Lost all connectivity e-mail to my e-mail account on Roadrunner (socal.rr.com).  Tried to validate my account from the smartphone and also on the Blackberry site.  The email validation fails - has provided no further details.  Have made several unsuccessful attempts to validate the account and have checked that I provided correct email account information.  Also have restarted the unit several times.  Don't know what I can do.  He had to deal with that.

You can try to delete the email, removing the service books so that e-mail, then put in place again.

Another idea, if you use a password to connect and the service has two factors optional security, go to that and the new.  Alternatively, if you use the method of the two factor, shut it down and test.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones help set up personal e-mail accounts

    Hello

I am sure you have answered this question than a gazillion times, but I just bought a second hand Curve 8900 after losing my Bold 9780, I restored my last backup to the phone that's fine, but I don't get the emails.  When I go in the Setup Wizard, the only option I have is "using a professional email with Blackberry Enterprise Server account."

I myself have snookered by my last backup is restored and now it won't let me "add new accounts?

    Thank you

    Kate

You need a plan of data at the appropriate level of complete BB... generic data plans do not include the services of e-mail on a BB. You need to talk to Vodafone.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones a messege file per e-mail account

I have 2 email accounts set up on my BB. My personal account has its own folder, but my work account (outlook) shows my staff and prospects. How can I delete my personal account of this folder?

    Thank you

You can not.  The "Messages" icon on the home screen opens also all e-mail accounts and possibly SMS messages.

You can buy a small application called empower a BES mailbox for about $20.  A free trial version is available for OTA installation at http://ota.getempower.com

Personally, I prefer to have a place to display all of my email with a single press of the M key.  This helps home screen hotkeys (QWERTY devices only), and when I want to watch messages for an Inbox (on SIX addresses sent to my BlackBerry) or just my unread messages, I use a Saved Search to display exactly that!

Thanks for the info. you're right, I probably have a Blackberry account through my provider of the support cell. I didn't know this until I bought this phone. I love on the phone, except that I wish RiM would have included courier pop and internet through the cellular provider without the need to have a special account. It's expensive and with the extra cost, I don't want to activate the account. Thanks again for the info.

    Hello

It is unfortunate that you did not know this before purchase... a pity indeed. But, be aware that BB provides some unique items that are for the customer BB companies don't. For example, carriers must install and maintain a unique infrastructure that is only for their BB customers. As a result, they may charge extra for these services. It is regrettable that they have not revealed these facts you advance... oh, it's the companies that control the price... no RIM.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones how turn off the e-mail attachments?

I have been informed that it is possible to do, and it'll be important for me when I travel abroad: I don't want to incur large download of attachments when I don't want to.

Attachments are not downloaded in the default BlackBerry. They are downloaded only when you specifically choose to do. There is nothing that you need to configure to do this.
