@ printdoc

Thanks for the heads-up on the WPA key!

.. had this email support: (for anyone interested in this problem):

"The printer will remember the WEP key until the IP address of the printer is changed.
That is why its recommend to do the static printer IP address, please follow the below mentioned steps to assign the static IP address for the printer
Assign a static IP for printer
Once the printer is connected to the network, open the built-in webserver (EWS) link to enter the IP address.
Step 1: Print a Network Setup page
On the front panel of the printer, go to wireless > Wireless Settings > print a network [Ok] Configuration Page
Step 2: Open EWS of the printer.
· Open internet explore
· In the address bar, enter http://192.168.1.2 text where 192.168.1.2 is replaced by the IP address of the network printer configuration page.
· Go to the Networking tab
· Click on 802.11 wireless
· Go to the tab of configuration IPV4
· Click Manual IP address
· Now enter the same IP address, as shown in the network, the same subnet mask Setup page and the same default gateway address.
· Click on apply and OK
Once you have set the static IP address the IP address of your printer will remain constant where the printer will not lose the connection and the WEP key. "

ADDITIVE - SHOULD BE READ:

  • connect a printer wireless - need 2.4 ghz band of timecapsule

    Hello

I am trying to print via WiFi wireless and my new printer says that it cannot connect to a 5 GHz signal.  It can only connect via 2.4 ghz.  Can configure my TimeCapsule for dual band?  While I can print wireless?

I appreciate any help!  Thank you! Gracias!

    I am running the following:

    MacBook Pro (to 2011)

    El Capitan OSX 10.11

    TimeCapsule (to 2009)

    Printer: HP ENVY 4520

Can configure my TimeCapsule for dual band?

A Capsule of 2009 may or may not be a simultaneous dual-band model.  To find out what exactly what you might have, please look on the bottom of the time Capsule to locate the model number. Probably, it is integrated in the base of carpet of MOSS.

The model number starts with an 'A' follow-up of four digits. Post back with number and we will continue.

  • Is it possible to have a connection to printer wireless and wireless Internet at the same time with Windows Vista?

I'm trying to connect my wireless printer while maintaining my wireless internet connection. Is this possible?

    Hello ScottWatt,

Thanks for your post.  Yes, however, there is a specific way to go about it.  Since you have wireless internet, you probably have a wireless router.  In this case, you must change your printer settings to connect to the router. You can find information on how to do this either through your manual, or online from the manufacturer's Web site.

Then you would connect your computer to the Wireless internet connection as well.

From there, both your computer and the printer would be on the same network, just install the printer on a network and you can surf the web and print wireless.

  • How to connect a printer wireless to my laptop

I have a printer HP Officejet wireless 6500 E709n Series and I'd like to connect wirelessly to my Acer Aspire 5734Z lap top. Please notify.

The wireless printer is already connected to your wireless home network?

If so do you have installed the software from the manufacturer of the printer wireless on your computer Win 8.

    For example...

When I installed my camera HP J4680 AiO (print/fax/scan) on my Windows 7 computer, I did these steps...

    1. Creates an ad hoc connection between the J4680 and my laptop Win 7.
    2. Configured the J4680 manually with my network SSID and the encryption type and encryption key. I did steps 1 and 2 because my random 63 character ASCII encryption key contains characters that are not available in the network control panel on the J4680 wireless. If you use a key encryption without special characters, you should be able to configure just the network settings from the printers Panel Wireless.
    3. The provided HP software, including drivers on my laptop Win 7 installed. The HP software went out and found the J4680 on my network.

The steps should be similar for your device HP OfficeJet 6500 E709n, IE. Get it on the first wireless network and then install the HP software on your machine, Windows 8.

  • Photosmart Wireless B109n-z: Impossible to connect the printer wireless to the new router

I just changed my wireless router and can not get my printer to recognize the new router.

When you try to reinstall with the disc that came with the printer it keeps "quit unexpectedly" at the end of the installation, but before I get to connect to the printer.

The drive indicates that it is for use with Mac OS X v10.4; 10.5, but I can't find an option to update the web site HP despite it stating that my printer is still supported.

I can still use the printer with a USB cable connected directly to my table, but this is no help for the other devices I have.

    Hi @Paulwrow,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you are unable to connect your HP Photosmart Wireless B109n-z to your new router wirelessly. I'd be happy to see this with you and don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

The CD/DVD software will not work with newer versions of Mac OS X. HP doesn't have the drivers for this printer in Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan. The last driver out of this printer is for Mac OS X 10.6. The only driver available that uses the driver update from Apple. This causes a problem when reconfigure the wireless, as this is the software for help. It would be easier if you have another computer running an operating system that is supported so that you can install the full feature software to configure the wireless.

As an alternative method, you can try doing as a guideline to connect the wireless printer. We will use the ad-hoc connection. With the ad-hoc connection, you can launch the built-in web server (EWS) to access the wireless configuration wizard.

Use the following steps as a guide:
Restore the default settings of the network:

    1. Press the button next to the wireless Menu.
    2. Press the button next to wireless settings.
    3. Press the button next to network by default.

Once the network is reset, the printer should disseminate the ad hoc connection. It should look like "hpsetup" or "HP Setup (and part of the printer name or MAC address). With an IP address like 169.82.12.44.

Then, connect to the network printer, that is broadcasting.

    1. On the Mac in the upper right corner, click on the wireless icon and connect to the network "HP Setup" or "hpsetup".

    Print the wireless test report:

    1. Press the button next to Scan.
    2. Press the button next to the wireless Menu.
    3. Press the button next to wireless settings.
    4. Press the button next to run the wireless network Test.

Browse the test report wireless IPV4 of the printer (IP address) 169.82.12.44.

    1. Launch your internet browser and enter the IP as shown. This should load the printer EWS.
    2. Click on the tab network across the top.
    3. On the left side, click on wireless or network.
    4. Run the Wireless Setup Wizard.

This is the only way to reconfigure the wireless, unless you have another computer that has supported the software.

For more information on the ad-hoc connection, see the User Guide.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. I can't wait to hear strings attached good luck!

  • Unable to connect a printer cable wireless PC networking wireless/wired

We have a HP Officejet 6500 a more printer (E710n-z)

Wireless router with 4-port ethernet (2864 SAGEMCOM) - some PC to connect wireless and we have 3 connected via ethernet (network has several printers, 2 netbooks, IPad, 2 laptops and 4PCs currently configured - but with 5 active users change frequently)

Can't connect the printer wireless to personal computers, laptops, etc.--but could not connect cable PC (running version of windows XP-Edition family)

I would like to avoid forcing the IP address for printer (everything else is automatic) - is there another workaround solution?

I have another printer connected wireless two wireless and wired PCs

Installation / troubleshooting software assumes that all or all wireless's cable network

I don't mind uses the fixed IP address to install it, but prefer not to use for the current connections

  • HP Deskjet 2540: My printer cannot connect to the wireless network (SSID is not found)

    Hello

I have a HP Deskjet 2540 printer that is configured to print using the USB cable, and I have no problem printing through it. I just bought a router (D-link DWR116) and I'm trying to set up the connection to the router wireless to my printer. When I use the printer setup & software and select the option "convert a connected USB printer wireless", I can choose to enter into the setting of the printer access the router automatically or manually. These two will come with the same problem where the program is my name SSID of the router successfully but then failed to connect to what the SSID is not found.

It comes on it comes up with the error message:

Question: You have manually entered the name of the network (SSID) cannot be found.
Solution: Check that your wireless router is powered. When to manually enter the name of your network (SSID), make sure you enter exactly including upper and lower case and spaces.
    ============================================================================================

Which is meaningless because it came with the SSID earlier and I chose what options the wireless network available. I tried to manually enter the SSID, but after entering the password for the router, the same error message appears.

    Help, please.

    Thank you

In fact, I solved the problem. Something about the wifi light on the printer. It can not be flashing, I don't know what the blue light flashes on the wofo of the printer, but I don't think that it means that the wifi is on.

  • C309g-m - unable to connect to the wireless network, touchpad hangs

    Hello.

As PrintDoc has suggested, it's a new thread in the suite here, where I jumped in with a diversion to the station 23.  I'm sorry.

    Here are the details:

    (1) system:

Router is Thomson TG585n provided by ISP O2/Telefonica.  Download high speed ADSL to ~ 9Mbps.

    3 devices connected and stable:

-L' computer running XPSP3, connects to the router via homeplug (Ethernet on electrical wiring).

-Laptop running Vista Home Premium, connects wirelessly with WPA2-AES.

-Mobile phone runs Symbian 60, connect wirelessly in the same way.

Router is configured to operate on channel 11 g wireless and accept new devices automatically with the appropriate security password.

It is a House of 3 floors - router on the top floor has always worked. computer bureau on a middle floor with printer; laptop and the phone can be anywhere.

    So far so good.

Now, I want to add the wireless printer and I'm really bad.

    (2) summary of symptoms:

I bought the C309g-m on Amazon UK in January 2010.  USB connection with assistant easily.  Migrated to wireless via the front panel.  Easy. Then tried to add a 500 GB Freecom Network Drive (NAS device connected to the router) and has failed, because I didn't RTFM.  After removing the FND, I get an error message of HP to the effect that I have "tried to set the printer's IP address" and lost the connection to the printer wireless.  Have not seen this message since then, so I can't reproduce.

As I said, I removed the FND, who never appeared on the network in any way.  However I still can't connect to the printer wirelessly.  The wireless connection wizard crashes after asking to specify a password.  The wireless network Test report that the radio works, but shows FAIL the entrance of 'No filter '.  I looked into the console of the router and there is nowhere to set the MAC address filtering, so I'm stumped.

I tried to 'Add a device' CD, for network via USB settings.  It takes forever (30 minutes?) to come up with the same error "MAC address filtering.

One last thing: if I leave radio turned on (the default lighting) will lock the touchpad after a few minutes to the home screen.  If I disable it, it's fine.  Once locked, the only way to stop is to unplug the power supply.

Finally - all the base printer functions very well.  I can print and scan through the USB port and can take copies.

    Thoughts:

    (a) I think my router settings can be screwed.  I don't see a way to set limits to the DHCP pool, I should be able to.  However, since I was 3 devices that connect to the Internet I am reluctant to do a factory reset in case I lose those!

    (b) there's something wrong with the printer - but I don't know what.

    c) I could try temporarily move the printer to the i) door ii) within reach of hardwirable of CAT5 and wireless range

    (d) the fact that I can connect the printer (wireless) or DNF (cable) makes me suspect the router.  However, I have not received any support from O2: they said it was an internal problem of LAN/WLAN and nothing to do with broadband, therefore, were not willing to help.

I spent hours on this and get nowhere.  Help, please!

    Tim.

BTW - I'm in the United Kingdom.

Well, I think that there are many more problems with 'atypical' routers and HP software as there are with HP printers.  I see not nearly as many problems with certified brand routers WiFi (like Linksys, Netgear and D-Link), as I do with large brands and Belkin.

The worst offenders are rented modems/routers that your ISP provides.  For some reason, they have a lot of industrial property settings and firmware that simply don't play well with HP printers (may be others, but I would never buy another printer HP - I know way to much about printers after their design for 25 years).

A reliable and good solution cheap is to go buy a $40 or $50 Linksys router and replace stuff not expensive you have (or paste according to your router/modem rented).   Time and time again, I've seen problems disappear just after installing a standard router.

You can reserve an IP address for a wired connection, but because parts wired and wireless to the printer have separate MAC addresses, this IP address is not available for the wired connection.

Read the thread if you wish.  Discover the solutions on this website if you want to, but I still think you have a defective printer.
