HP C4580, Vista to 7, uninstalled

Hi all

I'm having some problems with a printer, and after countless hours of slope on the internet of information, try solutions and failing, I'm frustrated. So, I thought that I would post it here and I hope for more help. Please, keep in mind, I'm not tech savvy when it comes to any type of device to questions or really any thing related software. I don't know enough to hold my own and make most 40 + non - tech in fear. This, unfortunately, is simply not reality.

The printer worked fine (print and digital) while the computer to which it was connected using the XP Pro operating system. A change to the brough of Windows 7 problems. When reconnected (computer parents, they have outsourced the upgrade) always printed, it would fail to Scan to PC. He reported the error to the screen and said to ask for help. I found a lot of people have had the same problems and looked very thin, I could find but were not able to fix it again. I uninstalled and tried a reinstall that failed because the Windows 7 operating system is not supported.

I took contact with the USB and the device attempted to remedy the situation itself, but once again, impossible to install and run all the updates (critical and not) because the OS is not supported. I know this may be easy for some of you guys and ask for help, everything you can give me and tons of patience. If you can help, let me know. I know, it can be tedious, but also detailed instructions you can give me (files names, records and links to appropriates them updates etc.) would be much appreciated. I'm being stalked relentlessly that my mother uses the printer to scan old family photos and scrapbooks of the company and its company. Frankly, it makes me crazy with his incessant calls, and it irks me no end that I can't fix it. I don't know that it's probably something simple I'm missing.

If you can, give me a helping hand with as a possible blueprint.

Thanks in advance,

NotTechSavvy

The driver of Windows 7 can be downloaded from HP here.  Before you install the driver, unplug the USB cable and do not reconnect it until the installation program ask you to do.

  • Cannot use or restore Vista after SP1 uninstall

    original title: cannot use or restore after uninstalling SP1 Vista - please help.

    In order to perform an upgrade of Vista installation to repair the damage caused by a virus recently, I uninstalled Service Pack 1 (because installation upgrade will not work with SP1). I know there are other things I should have done (a sfc/scannow in theCommandPrompt) or SP1 slipstreamed DVD, but I did not know them at the time, nor did I think there will be problems as a result of an uninstallation of SP1. As the title suggests, I got kind of wrong.

    It all started after uninstallation, which seemed successful. I rebooted, and instead to get Vista without SP1, I get an error code of the variety of the command prompt (just the black screen with white writing). This continues for a couple of times, and after a few remedies attempts that fail miserably, I decide to systemrestore(using the Vista CD, of course) at a point before uninstalling SP1. I think it will work, but the first time, as it gets to the "development of restoration" and how he hung for three hours before, I decided to turn off the computer because he was of course not moveable anywhere. I restart and let the boot from HARD drive upwards to see if maybe something worked, and I get to the login screen of Vista, how I notice none of my devices work. The mouse or the keyboard responds (both are USB) and the attempts with the PS/2 versions don't either. I thought maybe it was a driver problem, so I reinstalled the driver chipset at the disk using my laptop (took thedesktopHARD drive, put in a box outside, then executed the installer of the chipset on my laptop and said to install outside driver), but it could not solve the problem. I also tried other restorations, but invariably they fail after a certain point, which gives me an error message:

    "System restore failed due to an unspecified error. The file could not be opened from a transactional point of view, because its identity depends on the result of a unresolved transaction. (0x80071AA7).

    I googled errormessageand see that most people encounter it while trying to install a service pack, I thought it was a problem with restoring Vista without SP1 to Vista SP1. Thusly, I used the command from theVistaCD command-line option to read my Windows Update log and got the following:

    I can't interpret it, although it seems to confirm my suspicions the transition from other than the SP1 and SP1 is causing issues. If someone else could interpret this?

    Basically I have a non-functional operating system, I can not restore it to a State of operation, nor access the input devices because it does not work on the login screen. Anyone all proposed solutions to the problem, short of a clean install of Vista? I don't want to reformat unless absolutely necessary.

    This is the forum Vista install.

    http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/vistarepair/threads

    You can try the repair Forum.

    Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

    They will tell you how to do this.

    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, Acer, recovery disk/s etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    1. do you have dual boot at startup options when you try to start?
    2. are you still able to boot to the old version of Windows Vista that is installed on the C drive?
    3. What do you mean exactly when you say that you want to uninstall?
    If you have installed Windows on another drive, you will have a dual-boot option. You can uninstall Vista by reformatting the drive. You can refer the link that will give you information about this below:
    When cleaning a Windows Vista laptop, I uninstalled the print driver for the HP Deskjet 920 because I thought it was for a different printer is no longer used.  Usually, you can just download a driver from the HP website; Apparently, this was included in the software for the computer when it was purchased and cannot be downloaded.  There is no way to re - install or I'll simply use another printer?
    Hello IworkForTheCat,
    Note: the REGISTRY settings change incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the REGISTRY settings configuration can be solved. Changes to these settings are at your own risk.
    Go to start. In the start search box, type Regedit.
    Then, in the Menu bar, go to Edition and select search. In the find what box, type the string value you want to search.
    Please make a backup before you make any changes in Regedit. If you are not comfortable making changes, then please take it to a qualified person who can help you with your problem.
  • Can not remove fonts - application for leave to administrator in Windows Vista
    Original title: why did Windows not recognize me as an admin even if I am the only user and 'Administrator' is even named right after my name?
    I'm having this problem on this Vista laptop that I am now on and on my desktop which has been upgraded to Windows 7.
    In the particular case on this laptop, I'm trying to reduce my list of fonts to eliminate those I do not need or use.  I selects a font to delete, press DELETE, it says that windows needs the permission to delete this, I give permission.  Then he said that I need permission and that it only gives options of "Try Again" or "Cancel".  I have this problem with all types of files and I'm really tired of this garbage.  Help, please.
    Hello
    ·        What do you mean by all types of files? What are the other files are you trying to delete, they are system files?
    A font is a system file and to delete a system file, you must disable the UAC (user account control) and check if you are able to delete the file on the system. Follow the steps mentioned in the article below.
    Note: Turn on UAC, once you did delete the files.
