HP c6180 printer: wrong cartridge on c6180

I have HP printer c6180 and I put new cartridges and now it says "wrong cartridge". What can I do to solve my problem

Hello @Yasss and welcome to the Forums of HP, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I see that you have problems with the cartridge.  I would like to help!

I recommended to remove cartridges from the printer and starting by a power reset.   Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug back in the printer. Make sure that you connect the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any surge protector or power bar.

I would also recommend following the steps outlined in this document:

The "Unjust of the ink cartridges installed" Message appears on the screen color graphics

Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting operations. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

  • HP Office jet Pro 8600 Plus: wrong cartridges

This has probably happened to other people here so take it. I have the printer for use of home business and I need to print all digital records I make to make sure they print to the top right. I can be a bit of a pig to ink with printing with color etc.  I usually pick up my local Walmart cartridges and always get the size XL color and black ink cartridges.

The local Wal-Mart stopped carrying cartridges XL last time I checked.  I usually get the 951. I didn't pick up the ink, one of the last moments where I am gone shopping there but thought that I should get back up and I chose the cartridge wrong 952 number and he wasn't XL.

He was sitting in the drawer a few months until what I needed. I just opened and realize it does not fit well and I got the wrong cartridges.

I try to take it back to Wal-Mart, but they have a policy where they do not accept the things that have been opened. I don't see why they wouldn't take it because there is no way they can say I'm scammng them and have used ink. I know that HP has the opportunity to know the ink levels and call them.

I called HP and talk to two people of different media. I asked for the money, I want just the right cartridges. An Exchange. I am also looking for what a better provider of XL size cartridges. Remember these 952 cartridges cost 59.99 so not a small loss. They speak to a supervisor and they say that if I bought ink HP of them directly they could make an Exchange if I got the wrong cartridges, but since I bought their product from another retailer I'm just out of luck.

So I'm about to even consider buying cartridges directly from HP right now? Little. They also have even tried and there was a huge opportunity missed with all of this. My computer would constantly than me on the purchase of HP ink cartridges and I would decline and now they finally on the phone, and they blow it.

I'm sure a lot of people have caught the cartridge wrong given that many of them with different numbers. In the past, there no info on the boxes to help understand you which printers work of cartridge. I have never caught the cartridge wrong before, but there's always a first time. After looking closer, I see there are the numbers on the side of the box that list the numbers of the printer, but it is small and I think the best place would be in the front or the back. But who would cross the space that they occupy the space with the sale.

If one does not buy a 952 that has three colors within me? He has three new never been used color cartridges regular size Magena, Cyan and yellow? Also I would ask where people buy their size XL HP cartridges, and who has the best prices on them?

Thank you for sending this customer support. They solved the problem for me and once I got to the right person it has been much more quickly that I never thought I'd fixed! Thanks for listening.

  • Wrong cartridge scam

I can't find a good reason why a compnay like HP would go this far to make my printer doesn't work does not correctly if you use cartridges no HP or reloaded cartridges?

Others are so... HP puts money before the service customer that obvious.

HP puts a magnetic strip on the cartridges, which tells the printer how many prints. Once he has published more than 100 prints, it is designed to send messages of error on your pc, which in fact stop printing when the printer ink is fine.

For example: I have a wireless printer. It appears under the USB and wireless as 2 printers. I deleted the USB version so I was using just the wireless version.  After the first day, everything was fine. The second day, my printer is offline? I get that right then error message wrong cartridge? I am newly recharged genuine HP cartridge out and put it again. RE electrifiy load the cartridge. Print a test page, the scanner. Back to printing. Little prints error messages later cartridges counterfeited and he stops to print again.

I simply plug in the usb cable it sees as a new printer... says the driver's... I got the impression it prints without a problem... Now the USB works without problems. MY PRINTER WAS NOT WORKING PROOF OF THE GROUNDS IS THE SOFTWARE OF HP DC?   in any case, I ended the day to print using the usb cable.

Next day, I'm still hanging to the usb cable and did nothing else that turn off my printer... I try to print get error message false cartidge and he stops, impression again now on the usb cable.

I go back to turn on the wireless printer go online again and you know it print without any problem... MY PRINTER WAS NOT WORKING PROOF OF THE GROUNDS IS THE SOFTWARE OF HP DC... It prints a page flawlessly while you know the error of HP again wrong cartridge...

I can get the printer to work again by charging... RE install... Reelectrify... But if HP does not stop to manipulate my printer to operate through software, it is only temporary.

I'm so sick and tired of playing with this printer, I'm ready to throw it all away if I don't kick first.

But this isn't SOFTWARE DOING THIS ON PURPOSE to the printer HP SOUND!

A COMPANY THAT CREATES SOFTWARE TO MAKE IT PRODUCTS OF DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY ON PURPOSE.

YOUR CUSTOMERS KNOW THESE MISTAKES COUNTERFEIT CARTRIDGES ARE MADE EXPRESS BY HP.

    * HP MANIPULATES ITS CUSTOMERS THROUGH SOFTWARE *.

Your making millions off of this but it costs customers millions of hours of frustration when he printers does not work when then need them for... and to know that it is on purpose by HP. SHAME ON YOU HP!

Are you able to OK the msg? If this isn't the case, it could be a problem with the reloaded ink, you may have to return to the store.

  • HP Laserjet - 100 MFP M175 NW - error message "wrong cartridge in the yellow location.

Can you help me? I got a HP LaserJet 100 color mfp M175nw for 7 weeks - I bought new cartridges of HP spare. During the existing rotation of the cartridges. I got the error message 'wrong cartridge in the yellow location', but I was able to replace others (3).  I did not remove the yellow, and the printer was working fine until I started the replacement operation.  The HP refuses to allow me to remove the exisiting yellow cartridge - it will turn on (it seems to stick to the BLACK), after giving me the error message.  She now refuses to print anything. What is the solution?  I had a printer in working order very well suddenly dislike the original yellow cartridge and will not be printed.  Online technical support was helpful but confused and can only recommend a procedure in which I turned off and manually remove ALL the cartridges, using a screwdriver to force to rotate the cartridge door.  Someone has successfully resolved this problem, or have an insight into why it happened?

I'll try to do a hard rest to the printer in an attempt to clear the error message and return the printer to a known working state and clear the error message. After that, I would try to access the cartridge and see if the printer will allow you to remove and then replace it in the printer.

    1. press the Power button to turn off the product.
    2. unplug the power cord from the back of the product.
    3. disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet.
    4. wait at least 30 seconds.
    5. plug the power cord into the electrical outlet.
    6. reconnect the power cord to the back of the product.
    7. press the Power button on o turn the product.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600: Changed the wrong cartridge

I changed the ink wrong cartridge.  One that I used didn't need to be changed.  Once this cartridge is inserted in the printer it breaks a seal?  Or I can put it in the box for later use.  He was not in a sealed box.  It dries?

Oops - I thought the cartridges 564 style rather than the 950/951 (I have printers that use each here...).  To avoid any problem with cartridges 950 or 951, but you may be putting them in a bag for extra protection.

  • Artifacts and print wrong colors Deskjet D4160

My Deskjet D4160 print colors wrong in Normal mode. It prints correctly in optimized mode. For example, it will print rose instead of orange. I saw him print pink instead of blue. It prints very well when it is in optimized mode, but not in Normal or fast mode. I installed the brand new HP inkjet cartridges in the printer of the brand. Also I sometimes get artifacts on the page when you print in Normal mode. At first I thought it was because I used off the coast of brand cartridges, but the same problem occurred when I installed HP cartridges brand as well. If anyone can help me with this problem I would be very happy.

I'm sorry that you are experiencing this issue. One thing you can do is to clean the head of printing and cartridges on the Solution Center.

You can also uninstall and reinstall the software and drivers.

It seems that the communication between the printer and the computer is not on the same page when it comes to color printing.

I would like to know if these steps help, or what is happening.

  • DeskJet D2360: Deskjet 2360 - prints wrong colors, even if the test page seems well

In 10 (64-bit) Windows, Deskjet D2360 prints the well test page, but the colors aren't any application (documents, photos...). Cyan looks like dark blue. Green also appears dark blue. I just updated the drivers from the HP website, but the behavior remains the same.

The problem appeared after Windows 10 updates (January 2016 and later versions).

Print and Scan Doctor couldn't fix it. Help!

(Suggestion: If your printer prints the test page, why not propose an image file with what the test is supposed to look like.) This is useful especially to confirm colors. If I have a print test and see a few squares of color, how could I know if they are the correct colors?)

After a long period of frustration, I found the non-professional magic solution:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/inkjet-printing/printer-prints-wrong-colors-after-Windows-10-update/TD-p/5242565/highlight/false/page/3

Print a test page with HP print and Scan doctor. Once the problem is resolved.

  • OfficeJet 4630: Install new printer - ink cartridge problem

I'll put up a new HP Officejet 4630. I installed two cartridges of HP61 that came with the new printer. The menu of the poster printer "ink cartridge problem, the following ink cartridge needs to be replaced" followed by a black circle. How a new cartridge would be acceptable?

Follow-up of your steps. Cartridges still a problem in the printer display.  Took printer at Staples. The store manager confirmed my status then loaded 2 new cartridges (free) the sales basket - printer worked.  Staples deals custormers good!

  • Kodak ESP5AIO printer ink cartridges ok but print very faintly

Printer ink cartridges ok but feel very low, troubleshooting says everythings ok. Any ideas?

    Hello

    1. which version of the Windows operating system is installed on your computer?

2 have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

3 are you facing the question with any specific application?

I suggest to print a test page for the printer and check.

    Reference:

The printer prints part of a page, prints blurry ink or prints faded or inaccurate colors only: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Troubleshoot-printer-problems

Since you are faced with the question with the printer cartridges, it would be best to contact the manufacturer of the printer.

  • C6150 HP: printer color cartridges complains, but I only need to print in black!

This printer color cartridges complains, but I only need to print in black!

I don't use any color. Dungeon of color cartridges expire. Why should I not be able to print in black while my black cartridge is full (I just bouth it)? I am very disappointed with HP...

The information here surprisingly solved my problem:

  • Fill out and return to zero problems with Deskjet 3052 has printer and cartridge 61xl black

Yesterday, my new 61xl OEM black cartridge ran out of ink. I had it only for a few weeks, but this cartridge made of course go fast (faster than the startup cartridges, I swear!). This is a printer at home that is used only by me for personal use.  I wonder how much ink was in it when I bought it. Of course, they don't disclose the ml on the packaging more... how convenient for them, huh?

In any case, I decided to fill up again. It was my first attempt for this printer and a total failure. I did some research. I used 2 other cartridges to fool the technology of memory without result. Online instructions for which parts of contact on the Strip are either nonexistent for this cartridge or are as clear as mud so I couldn't try it again... This is where it would have been a picture is worth a thousand words.

It would be a very good alignment page printing. So I think it was successful. But when I tried to print or copy something, it would print the upper part and act like it ran out of ink down. The same thing with trying to clean the print heads. He will start the black stripe and stop about two thirds of the way through. There was less black to have with each successive cleaning, I've tried. If I started on the first cleaning would have the same generous amount of black ink, but decrease as before. I was losing the ink in my brand new color cartridge so I stop messing with it.

I received errors to gogo (not OEM! False! The sky is falling!). The ink is obviously coming out of the cartridge, so it's not the problem. All I know is that I have a good full of the same black refill ink oem cartridge that I use in HP cartridges for years.

I don't really like what is happening to this piece of crap cheapo printer so I am not interested to hear how HP has my best interests at heart. What about someone gullible. If I mess up with cheapo ink, then what? And counterfeiting BS is a bogus excuse too.

Yesterday I had to go out and buy a new cartridge. So today, I found a printer as I used to have (1315) for $20 on Craig's list. Heck, I have tons of cartridges 56, 57 and 58 for this baby and you can charge for this printer throughout the day. I not picking that up next week but then if someone knows how to bypass attempts to be GREEN with this printer and cartridges, of course I understand the help. Maybe who contacts on tape cartridge? Or the head of which HP exec throw this printer to? I'm open to suggestions. Otherwise, the next cartridge runs out in this waste of time and money, it just goes straight to a landfill where it belongs so it won't be wasting someone else's time or money. Thank you!

It seems that you have introduced an air bubble in the cartridge drain pipe, resulting in starvation of ink you print.

Pageyield of HP's site lists the 61xl 8.5 ml cartridge.

  • How to take the printer ink cartridges OfficeJet 6700 cart

I have a printer of HP all-in-one OfficeJet 6700.  When I inserted a new cartridge, there was a false message that says the cartridge was exhausted and cannot print. I tried 3 times with 3 new cartridges with the same result, so I called HP Support. They sent me another printer parts and missing parts had to come from my old printer.  I need to remove the old printer ink cartridges carriage and install it in the HP an Envoy.  I can't seem to understand and am afraid to break if I push or pull to hard.  Does anyone know how to do this?

HP technicians two first talked on the phone told me there was a lock on the side to get (that I never found).  The third stopped in the middle of our conversation, he looked up and said that HP 6700 printer ink cartridges carriage is not removable.  Thanks for your advice and I hope that this information might help someone else. - Paw - Paw
