HP Chromebook 14: Chromebook 14 HP screen

First known randomly on green screen with purple vertical lines, and half top of my screen is now completely gray. Variations of gray, light gray to a black almost cold.

I haven't touched the laptop against what, whether it's strictly a laptop home so he has not disappeared in my bag, and hit on at all, and I didn't quit at all. Just a mobile home where he is on a block of cooling on a desk and little away here, I do not know what is due. I have insurance on this point, so can this be corrected? Or what I need to send help?

@KikiLaBrat ,

Hello and thanks for the display on the HP support forums.

The only thing you can do with a Chromebook is to a Powerwash.   This will reset back to the configuration Chrombebook original factory.

PowerWash: Perform a factory reset on your HP Chromebook or Chromebox (Google Chrome OS)

If this fails, you will need to send to HP for repair.

Please contact our technical support at the 800-474-6836. If you do not live in the United States / Canada region, please click the link below to get help from your region number.

  • best chromebook?

What is the best available in 2016 chromebook? Ive been watching chromebook review but I would like more input before making a decision. I got an old hp14 chromebook but the screen was not very good. I noticed the new 15-inch models an IPS display, but there is also a regular panel which is less expensive. Is it useful to make the IPS model? I don't need necessarily FullHD. Any help on this would be appreciated.

They are experts. Normally many sellers send new products for them to see. We are here, don't have the luxury to consider many new products so we can say only one or two.

    Hi there @DavidHPCB

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! It's a good place to find the help you need, so many other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff.

I understand that you have a problem of glare with your screen. Can be a little more specific? Is this a problem of brightness, or more info about reflectivity?

For your convenience, here is the support page for your Chromebook, as well as the user's guide.

    HP Chromebook 14-q070nr (ENERGY STAR)

    User Guide

If it's a matter of brightness, you can try to adjust that. If it's a problem of screen reflectivity, based on where you use, you might consider an anti-glare screen the screen.

    Let me know.

  • Screen is pink on Acer Chromebook 15 CB5-571. How can I fix it?

The screen of my CB is washed in pink,

Yes, the repair was covered by the warranty!  I contacted the manufacturer, they began a repair ticket, I shipment to Acer for repair and within 2 weeks (maybe less), he was shipped back and fixed!  It still works perfectly and I am very happy with my Chromebook.  Call Acer and follow their instructions for shipping back for them to fix.

  • Chromebook 14 q003sa: Chromebook screen problem

Hi, my daughter has a Chromebook about 18 months, this morning, when she turned on them was a lot of vertical scratches to the bottom of the screen, which looks like a blank page open on half of the screen and a black spot. Everywhere where I look at it mentions powerwashing machine, but the problem I have is that I can not connect as that part of the screen is too messed up and I can't click on it. I tried without going through the page of connection by doing, ctrl, alt, shift and R and I see about the box that says "powerwash" on it and I click on it but then something else has just joined! Grrr! its very frustrating. Does anyone have ideas that I could try, maybe restart somehow without having to click on the screen? Thank you very much

Had planned to use the HDMI port to connect an external display (even a TV high definition) for the Chromebook? By doing that you will be able to isolate the problem to the solution of output video or LCD of Chromebook display.

You will also be able to powerwash the Chromebook if you are able to see a normal browser.

Another option is to create a recovery key and use it. This is one of the options described on the web docuument of Google Chrome at the following address.

    https://support.Google.com/Chromebook/answer/1080595

Take a look at the document of support following on display problems to see HP web if the display looks like one of the images.

  • Chromebook 11 g5 touchscreen: new Chromebook 11 g5 touch screen hanging randomly

My chromebook is greater than 60% charged and began to stop at random (scren goes black, is off until I hit the POWER ON / restart key).

He did it twice in the last hour.

I got this new chromebook for less than a week and have used it only a few hours that day.

Any thoughts on why it is occurring and how to prevent?

It was too difficult to find any kind of response to this problem so I returned the Chromebook at best buy and bought a replacement. Too bad, that if a response has been easily available it would have saved me time and money of HP or Best Buy.

  • Windows 8 Setup(on USB Drive, but I didn't actually install it just tested out to check if valid) causing constant reboot can't even get to the start screen where I have connection on my Chromebook (AcerC720)

Also if you're wondering why I'm posting on this forum about microsoft, it's because you guys would probably well informed of the problem.

You can start by unplugging all non-essential devices you may have connected to the computer.

    If the problem persists.

Start the computer before Windows starts to load, press F8 repeatedly until the recovery environment is responsible.

    Click on repair computer

This will load the advanced Recovery Options

    Click on solve problems

    Click on startup repair

Follow the instructions on the screen.

  • HP Officejet pro 8600 & chromebook problem

Chromebook and connected to the eprint but printer does not print. Screen shows printer dialog box and says it is printing.

I understand the printer now says print and is not so make sure the printer email address is the same as defined in the registration of HP on the Web Google print site page.  Press the ePrint icon in the upper left corner of the touch screen of the printer to display the email address of the printer.  Make sure you type this email address to this Web site.

If your printer e-mail address looks like random numbers and letters, you can go to www.hpconnected.com to customize the email address, but be sure just that go back to the HP registration page to enter the new address.

-Click here to access the Support page of Cloud Google for further information-

If this does not help, you have customized the printer email address?  If so, you get the www.hpconnected.comerror messages?

  • Chromebook 14: 14 Chromebook accepts more power

    Hello

I bought a Factory reconditioned Chromebook 14 several months (24/03/2016).  Today, I plugged the chromebook for a bit of extra power (battery to 64% at the time). I noticed that the charge indicator on the battery icon in the lower right corner of the screen comes on.  Then I unplugged the power cord and plugged in. The indicator light on the side of the chromebook (next to the electric cannon) is a turn on.  After moving the cable of load at 3 different points of sale in the House (which have been confirmed working by other devices with the help of power), I determined that the problem is indeed with the Chromebook (or the power cable).  At this point, the battery is still around 60% and I chromebook turned off where the diagnostic data are needed.

Other forums, I looked through so far have asked for the release of crosh on a battery test, I ran. The output is below:

Welcome to crosh, the developers of Google Chrome OS shell.

If you got here by mistake, don't panic!  Just close this tab and operate.

Enter 'help' for a list of commands.

    crosh > battery_test
No test of specified length. Default value of 300 seconds.
    Battery (64,98% left)
    The battery: 94,36%
    Please wait...
    Battery of 0.69% in 300 second (s).
    crosh >

Please help.  I don't know if it's the charging cable, or the chromebook himself.  The battery seems fine. It just seems to be a problem with the entrance of power between the wall and the machine itself.

Here's the whole problem, end-to-end.  I spoke to a Google Chromebook support Member who accompanied me through a hard reset-both with the power cable connected and without. This term did nothing. They me transferred to HP support. He checked that I didn't have another device to test the power cable, or another power cable to test the powered chromebook.

While on the phone, we talked about how this was a buy refurbished with a 90 day warranty, and given that it was day 91 (Yes, the problem started the day after the expiry of the 90 day warranty), I had 2 options - pay $43 plus taxes and delivery for a new power cable , or pay $229 to send in the chromebook for maintenance.

At that point, I decided I think about my options and call later with a decision.  In the meantime, I went and read amazon.com for power cable options and came across this:

    https://www.Amazon.com/replacement-adapter-Chromebook-laptop-computer/DP/B00IZQSP8K/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&QID=1467039372&SR=8-2&keywords=Chromebook+14+power+cord

It came in the mail yesterday, and I was able to verify that it works with my chromebook (model 14-q039wm) and load the chromebook very well indeed.  My problem has been resolved with a new feeder from amazon for $15.99 + shipping costs.

Thanks for helping make me the representative of Google!

    Hello

    CAN ANYONE HELP?

I HAVE A NEW HP CHROMEBOOK BOUGHT 14 AT HP SIX WEEKS AGO.

I ONLY GOT TO LOAD SEVERAL TIMES BUT EVERY TIME I PLUG IN THE CHARGER AND PUT THE FINGER ON THE TOUCH PAD THE ARROW/POINTER JITTERS AROUND THE SCREEN RANDOMLY.

I RESORTED TO THE USE OF A WIRELESS USB MOUSE WHILE LOADING AND IT DOES NOT SUFFER THE SAME PROBLEM.

ANY IDEAS? OR SHOULD I CONTACT HP I HAVE A THREE YEAR WARRANTY.

    Thank you very much.

    Hello Brioche-e-rabbit,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that your Chromebook is problems with the touchpad when charging. To be honest, you are more likely to have a hardware problem. Chromebook does not have a list of hardware drivers for me to direct you, so your best bet, as you already said, would be to contact support phone for service options. You can contact HP Technical Support at 1-800-474-6836 in North America. For all other regions click here.

    Hope this helps!

  • HP Chromebook 14-q029wm: cannot connect to Chromebook

A few weeks ago, my Chromebook began spontaneously turn off. Initially I thought that it was because of low battery, but after a few days I could not log on, even when the battery is fully charged or machine was connected to the AC.

Get the password and be able to enter the password very well, but then the machine would lock. Slider still worked, but nothing has responded, even not the button on the "Shut" Off screen. Only way to turn off the machine had to close the lid or use the power button on keyboard.

Is it possible to fix this, or this machine is now dead?

    Thank you!
