HP Deskjet 2050 Scanner not Scan to computer

Product: HP Deskjet 2050 J510 of all-in-One (I don't know if it's a J510a or a J510c)

OS: Windows 7 64 bit

Error message: "Communication scanner cannot be established.  If make sure that your product is powered, check the connection and make sure that your network is working properly.  If these conditions are correct, restart the product and try to scan the image.
If you have installed it printed by IP address, you may need to update the IP address.  Use the IP address update for this printer start menu entry.
If you are running a software firewall, it can block scan communication.  Please visit www.hp.com/go/wirelessprinting for help to configure your firewall.

Changes to the system before the number: None.  Literally, Nothing has changed on my computer.

I had this printer/scanner for five days.  It scanned perfectly fine for the first three days.  And then I left it for a day.  When I went to use it today, it would not scan, which gives me the error message above.

The device is connected to the computer via USB.  It prints perfectly fine, so I know that the computer can communicate with him.  It will be perfectly fine copies, so I doubt that something is wrong with the scanner itself.  I have a theory it is drivers or do magic program scan.

I turned the unit on and off, disconnected and reconnected it, I tried to plug the USB cable in every single port on my computer, restarted my computer many times, uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and programs from the CD-ROM of original installation and on the HP website for driver downloads.  I tried J510a both J510c driver downloads.  I scoured the internet for some kind of solution and found none that I have not already tried.

I feel that I have tried every possible difficulty.  However, clearly I did not, because nothing has worked.

I'm at my wits end.   Can someone help me out here?

Thanks in advance...

Hello pcwizard,.

I used the Print and Scan doctor, and I was able to scan and copy.  The problem is that I don't know if this solution will last.  The first time I experienced these problems, the convenience store should check the firewall settings.  I did and allowed the printer using my firewall.  He scanned well, but next time I want to use it, it does not scan. Then, the store said to turn the printer off and then on again and check all connections.  I did and it scanned and copied at the time.  After that, it is to uninstall and reinstall, I did and it has digitized correctly only once after.  And finally, printing and the Scan doctor who recommended connect the printer directly to a wall outlet.  That solved the problem for now and I hope it will stay resolved.  Thanks for your support anyway.

  • DeskJet 2050 does not

I use a HP Deskjet 2050 with a laptop Asus SonicMaster under Win 8.1.

I used the Spy Hunter software because this laptop has been seriously infected with the pirates of browser and other malicious programs. The anti-malware software has done its job and the laptop is free of infection. Recently, I noticed that when I clicked on the HP Deskjet shortcut icon, nothing happens. Even when I go on the program itself, nothing happens. I can't call the HP printer/scanner software at all. I tried to uninstall, new download of HP software and reinstall. Unfortunately, it did not work. I've used several times HP Print Scan Doctor 4.5 and the test print and scanning test to get positive results. I can not even call software. Help!

    Hi @MikeyrInKY,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I read on your HP Deskjet 2050 printer and it does not not at all functions.

Have you tried to temporarily disable your antivirus and try the functions?

Protection against the Virus could block the printer communications. You can try to uninstall the software and reinstall it. This could help.

Please let me know how it goes.

    Thank you.

It will scan only with the attached USB cable. I uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version of the HP software. When I disconnect the USB it is said that the wireless connection cannot be found. Right now I'm going to guide you through some additional troubleshooting for this problem to scan wireless.

Step 1: Uninstall the drivers and software:

You must use other printers once the reset complete simply click on the (+) sign more to add than these other printers back into your Mac. Make sure they are connected via a connection by USB cable or network. Do not add your Deskjet still back in.

Please click here to know how to reset the printing system. Just follow the steps to "reset the printing in OS X Lion system"

Once the reset is complete, please select: uninstalling the printer software and race through the steps in Mac OS X v10.6, OS X v10.7, OS X v10.8 and OS X v10.9 for the method that you used to install your printer.

    1. click on the menu Apple and then click on System Preferences.

    2. click on Print & Scanand then check if the name of your printer appears in the list of Printers .

    3. If your printer is listed, remove and re-add the printer to check the communication with the Mac. Click on the name of your printer, click the sign minus (), then remove the printer. Hello

First, make sure you have the latest firmware installed as follows:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-OfficeJet-Pro-8600-plus-e-all-in-one-printer-series---N911/4322915/model/4323647/document/c02919168/

    Then, try the following:

    1. Of the printer, click on the right arrow / left and press the ion of the configuration of the printer.
    2. Select Network Configuration.
    3. Select direct Wireless Configuration.
    4. Ensure the Direct wireless is enabled and take one step of his password if such a value.
    5. Click on the WiFi icon from your Mac and connect to the SSID 8600 spirit "live / Print" in its name.
    6. Go to System Preferences > print and scan and click on the plus sign to add the printer - you see it listed as Hello via the direct wireless connection?

Please let me know the results, if it not listed as Hello with Direct wireless, which clearly show that the new router interrupts the multicast connection, this is the same as the connection through a different router.

On your screenshot, it seems that your router do not transfer packets to multicast to the need...

Now, I've worked on how it's done!  For the benefit of third parties...

Scan your document, but do not save, or done.

Replace the page scanned with the second page and click Add page.

Repeat the process for additional pages.

When you have analysed everything, now, click Save.

What you've recorded is a pdf, but with several pages.

At the printer for a few years. Started by, scan to computer worked.

Then it would work after a reboot of the pc for a period of time before stopping.

    Destin, FL

    Hello Robin,.

Thank you very much for your answers and your efforts! My sincerest apologies for not knowing that Windows 7 Professional 64 bit rested not with the tool! I learned something new from you and thank you so much for this!

We can try level 3 or 4 uninstall manually, instead of running the tool. I understand that the tool would be the easiest method. Here are the steps for you.

There are 2 ways you can run levels:

    Of the Original installation CD:

    1. Insert the CD in the drive and then cancel Setup

    2. open "Computer", and then right click on CD drive and open

    3 open the Util folder

    4 open the CCC folder

5 If you have an HP computer, run the L3uninstall.exe. If you have a computer not HP, run the L4uninstall.exe

    6. once the uninstall is complete, restart the computer

7 run the Accessories\ System Tools Disk Cleanup

    8. perform a clean boot

    9. run the download to reinstall the printer ( HP Officejet Pro Full Feature software and driver )

If the software has been downloaded and extracted the download of the driver for your system:

    1. click on start and type %temp% in the search box, open the folder

    2. Locate and open the folder starting with 7z (example: 7zS2356) (if there is more than one, choose the most recent folder)

    8. perform the clean boot

(9 download drivers and full software features HP Officejet Pro Full Feature software and driver )

I really hope that does the trick!

    Happy Thursday

    Hello

I have a HP Photosmart 7510 connected wireless to my home network and I can't select my computer when parsing the list for the computer on the printer.

    I use a MacBook Air with OS X 10.8.2

I've updated all my drivers, reinstalled the software and disconnected/reconnected to the network several times.

I can print to the 7510 my computer.

I can scan the 7510 using the HP software on my computer

I am unable to find 'activate Scan to Computer' in the settings on my computer (and all instructions on this Web site are for Windows)

We organize also several computers window on our network, and these show all in the analysis of computer selection and can be analyzed successfully to. (without going through the HP software installed!)

    Thank you

    Hi Emma,

If the Scan of the computer does not appear under the HP utility, more liekly something went wrong in the HP installation wizard.

Try these steps and let me know if that can help you:

First reset the system as follows:

    * Be aware that reset the printer system will eliminate any existing queue and reset all custom settings driver.

Click on the Apple menu and then click on System Preferences.
    Select Print & Scan.
Right click (or Ctrl + click) your product with the Printers list in the left panel and then click on reset printing system.
Click OK to confirm the reset.
Type your user name and password.
Click OK. The printing system resets.

Then, go to Applications\Hewlett - Packard\Device Utilities and follow the HP installation wizard.

Now open the HP Utilitiy and search the computer Scan in the scan parameters section.

    Kind regards
