HP DV7 Envy

My dv7 HP ENVY will not start.  I turned on my laptop this morning and nothing happened.  The screen remained black and no lights, turn signals, or static, showed on the keyboard.  I plugged in the charger and still nothing, light does not come one battery charge.  I tried to take the battery, now the button for 30 seconds and reconnect but still dead.

I think that yesterday the laptop was left on and battery to completely discharge.  All tips are greatly appreciated.

I have 10 Windows on my HP DV7 envy.  When I turn it on I get the error "Your PC need to be repaired a necessary device is not connected."

None of the keys work, which means I can't select startup options or select System Restore.  It just brings back me to the blue screen with the error message. So I can not try all options, I found on the internet that are made not boot master book or disable secure boot record.

I ran the tests of memory and fast disk, as someone else suggested that memory may be bad.

(HP please don't answer back Windows 10 is not supported.)  Microsoft has given to all customers of Windows 8. Besides it is not at all compared to the question, since the system cannot not even load the operating system.)

I fixed that basically like this:

    1. safe mode in the bios
    2. change the boot order to put USB in the front
    3. Install Ubuntu from USB, so erase Windows

I got stuck because I had copied the Ubuntu ISO was not a complete file.

No doubt I could able recover if I asked HP ship me a replacement disc for Windows 8.1

Also, I learned that you press f8, f9, f10 or f11 when you turn on the computer.  You must wait until the screen goes to sleep again and repower the computer to switch to another option.  Now key people will work until you do this.

  • HP DV7 ENVY: USB 2.0 Port does not

    Hello

I have a DV7 HP ENVY with 3 - USB 3.0 ports and 1 - USB 2.0 port. The USB 3.0 ports are working well but USB 2.0 does not work. When you plug a USB stick to the USB 2.0 port power led on the memory stick lights up but the led data is not. The computer does not at all to the inserted USB memory. The USB works fine in other 3.0 ports. I tried also to connect other USB devices, and it's the same thing. They work well on USB 3.0 ports, but nothing happens when you connect to a USB 2.0 port.

I was looking at the USB drivers in Device Manager and haven't noticed anything that seems strange.

I have run the system test diagnostic USB to start the system and got the following codes:

    Failure ID: 9BXQGK-6JK858-QFPK0K-8D0G03

    Product ID: C1W26EA #UUW

No idea if this is a hardware or software failure?

    Try the following.

Tap here to f11 as soon as you press the power button until you see a message "Windows is loading.

On the next screen, select your Keyboard Layout and on the next screen, select Troubleshooting.

  • problem of battery and charger dv7 envy

Please I need, as much about as soon as possible, because I have to decide whether or not I come back on this purchase, or that must make the seller about it)

    is the model name/number: HP ENVY 17 - E1P13AAR.

(under the battery, further it says E1P13AV)

    (pavillion dv7)

    the specifications are

16 gb 1600 mhz RAM memory

1 TB 5400 sata hard drive

    Intel i7-4700mq (2.4 to 3.4)

    screen 17.3 "to 1080 p

a bluray (hp DVD RAM UJ8C2)

the video card is provided by the chip (intel HD 4600) despite saying nvidia gforce in an external thumbnail

no movement of jump and no screen smarttouch

I get always the message asking me to get a powerful adapter plus and despite summer again, the battery life claims to be 195 days

so I think that the seller could have confused the game of battery/adapter that ought to go with my laptop with a lower card value or used an old... I do not know.. can you confirm or deny this theory?

the publication has mentioned a battery 9 cells and a charger 90w, and this one is clearly a 65w one, I was thining... I'm still waiting the answer of sellers, but I thought I'd get a second point of view here...

also the battery status screenshot there is only 4-cell, which is in power anywhere, is this ok?

    Thank you!

Edit: I have removed the battery and found quite an unpleasant view I guess...

The computer is not compatible with the 9-cell battery. Maintenance and service guide provides this information. The guide will also tell you the part number for the adapter, you should have, but also the other part applications.

The number of days of battery is essentially how many days the battery has been used for over a total cycle of 'true '.

  • Flickering line on monitor dv7 envy

This is a repost from yesterday. For several days a thin horizontal line appears in the lower part of the screen on my envy laptop computer dv7 - Windows 8, Intel i5 processor - I bought in January 2013.The line flickers in various colors and is very annoying. I pulled the top of the screen of the BIOS and the line does not appear. I do not have another monitor to plug, so I can't run this test. Everything else works normally. Any suggestions on how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

When I install Samsung 850 EVO 2 TB SSD, I will have the advantage of SATA 3? Or do I need other drivers or software?

    Hello:

The 7 series Intel chipset supports sata III, and I believe that the dv7-7xxx series have the drive connected to the sata III port.

However, the BIOS isn't set to RAID, AHCI.

Install the latest version of the Intel RST for TOPPING driver support in RAID mode.

The W8.1 of Intel driver will work on W10.

  • HP dv7 envy will not allow me to enter the administrator password after factory reset

I did a system restore on my hp dv7 desire, it has windows 8. Now when he goes to the login screen it says disabled system administrator & does not allow me to enter a password. How am I able to access a screen where it allows me to enter a new administrator password that I just bought this computer? I bought it used but still in the box with everything

    Hello

Look in the box that was delivered with your PC being used and if the owner had created a Windows 8 password resets a USB flash drive or CD.

If password reset media are not available, use external recovery support HP which should have been created on DVD or USB stick. You have the external HP recovery support?  Before using the HP recovery media, be sure to boot into the bios and disable secure boot and turn on legacy mode.

If you don't have the external HP recovery media that her you should be able to start in the HP Recovery Manager and create the recovery media if it has not been previously created.

If the tips above are not viable, then contact HP support and ordering a set of HP recovery disks.

HP support number is 800-474-6836 or 800-HPINVENT or online here.

  • Dv7 envy: return to windows 8

Well, that should get some laughs!  I wasn't real happy with the Windows 8 that came with this computer, so I'm fine support from some of you and "returned" to the Windows 7 Enterprise Edition w/SP1.   Now the funny part.  According to the Microsoft support page, Windows 7 Enterprise is not eligible for "FREE" upgrade to Windows 10... so now I wonder how to "re - install Windows 8" that came with this machine.  I think I did the "backup" drive before I returned to 7 as I have 6 or 7 DVD with the original operating system.  Any suggestions on how to get back to OS 8?  If I do, I lose all my programs files and data?  Have to reinstall?  Key findings of release for what will be difficult.   OR do I just stay on OS 7, pull the stupid thing, or?   Conducive to fine suggestions.

    Jerry

IF you did the recovery discs using a utility provided with the PC, then the procedure is to start from the first recovery disk and follow the directions - but this will erase the hard drive, reformat and reinstall the OS original, complete with all the drivers and applications provided by HP.

I haven't used Acronis years - since I had a PC crash and Acronis refused to run the restore - but at the time, I remember you need to create a boot CD to run the Acronis restore - because you could not restore the machine while windows is running.  Perhaps that things have improved over the years - then your best bet would be to contact Acronis and see what they would recommend the practice.

  • Envy of HP DV7 - 7233nr: decommissioning victory 8.1 for win 7 computer hp laptop dv7 envy

I've recently upgraded to win victory 10 8, I am not satisfied one or the other. I bought Win 7 Professional SP1 64 bit generator system "OEM" the other day. I would like to erase the hard drive and install Win 7 pro.

I don't know if it's easier to re - install win 8 on one partition and win 7 on another. I have the factory restore disks for win 8, which came with this pc. Have never created two partitions, I'm sure I could handle it, but I have now that I won't have the drivers for win 7 on this computer.

I think I can do this with good help and I ask for this help PLEASE.

    Sincerely,.

    John "stuck".

I'll keep my fingers crossed and go from there. I'll look around for other similar situations. As I sit here and ponder this object I'll probably imagined more questions to ask. But meanwhile your top shelf and we will no doubt talk again.

  • HP Pavillion DV7 Envy

18 months ago, I bought my computer and the hard drive failed 6 months ago.  I bought another hard drive and I bought a recovery kit.  I have a Windows 8 Pro installation disc but when I try to use that he complains about not finding correct device drives all the time, which is odd when its a real Windows 8 Pro installation disc.  When I try to use the disks in the recovery of the latop kit wouldn't even boot from the disk operating system and instead just tells me the disk hard is not subject to any operating system and displays

"Please install an operating system on your hard diskl

    Hard drive (3F0) '.

But this isn't what I'm trying to do with the recovery Kit?

The replacement hard drive I bought is a 1 TB hard disk Samusung with the same specifications as the original hard drive WD Blue:

    1 TB

    2.5 "

    SATA 3.0Gbps

    5400 RPM

So I don't understand why the computer has a problem with it.

Please can someone shed some light on the problem?

    Hello

Thanks for the list, but I solved the problem myself with online research.  Here is how I solved the problem.

To stop the error 3f0 I had to activate Reader inherited in the BIOS and place the DVD as the first boot drive in the boot legacy command section. This solved the error 3f0 and enabled the recovery disc start.

It's that simple although I can't seem to understand why he needs the legacy driver activated as it is a good drive hard modern. Anyway now I have a fully operational system once more.

One thing you might consider adding to your website is a feature where those who had lost everything and hard disk failures can recover their original windows product key. After all, it comes with the laptop when you buy, so you should be allowed to get somehow where you need it for circumstances like this. In my case, I had upgraded to Windows 8 Pro and had this available upgrade product key and I didn't have my original key it would not allow me to record the original windows in order to get my upgrade on. If you really need to include a writing down the product key of windows with new laptops or allow people to get by other means when their computer decides to self-destruct.
