  So you took out the hard drive and put in a new hard drive?

  Our laptop Elitebook 8540 P gives a terrible warning about the imminent demise of the hard drive.

  The warning is a good thing - in a bad situation. The hard drive is under surveillance and warning is always a heads-up before he finally dies on you, so you can get a backup.

  You can buy a Mobile SATA Hard Drive to install and then start with your repair disk to restore the Image of detail. Just be sure to get a capacity at least equal as the 320 GB or more.

  Mine doesn't have a touchscreen, webcam and I do not use the fingerprint sensor, but the rest of the machine works fine.

  I'm sorry to say this, but your drive has failed and you need to replace it with another, which is the meaning of this error code of 24 characters.

  You always have access to the data stored on the disk? If you do, then save as much information as possible and look for a replacement drive. • L/R 4.4.1 Photos on external hard drive (now broken)

  I use L/R 4.4.1 on a former Mac Air (where the old version)-on this version, I can't change my photos or view the history of changes, if the original files are on an external drive (which is not connected currently).  A large part of my library is currently on an external HD that has a broken USB3 microphone port, so I can no longer connect to this laptop.  I backed up all the files on another HD, but I don't know how to move the directory (or get L/R to recognize that these photos and all its amendments) are passed without plugging in the unit and physically moving through the software.  Is there a way to get L/R to recognize the photos (with all existing data, changes, etc. - I don't want to import as new files, unedited) are on the new HD?

  Help, please.  To try to free up space on my MBP with 128 GB SSD, I moved the file 'Lightroom' of my 'Images' folder to my DHM.  When I open LR could not find all the pictures, so I moved the file to my MBP and back in the folder "Images".  Only problem is now there is a charge of missing images last year.  I have all my CR2 files on my DHM so, luckily, I still have the physical copies of the originals, but all my changes disappeared.  I spent dozens and dozens of hours editing family shots and other photographs and I'm very nervous that I may have just lost all?

  I can't answer the question about missing images. However, after you move the Lightroom for the EHD folder you open that folder and double-click the catalog file in its new location. After that, if you have preferences in Lightroom configurΘ for the most recent dΘmarrer Lightroom Catalog use the catalog located on the EHD.

  305 error code is a failure of the complete (Full) disk Self Test (DST) and would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.

  You said that you have restored your PC using a DVD, but HP recover media consists of a SET of DVD, not a single DVD - so I have to assume that it was NOT a support of HP recovery.

  Ordinarily, I advise to use HP recovery media to restore your PC to its original state. That would erase the entire disk, format the drive and install the operating system, drivers and utilities HP.
  
  Unfortunately, there is no support of HP recovery related to HP for your PC Product Page. This could be an oversight by HP, or it could also mean that HP stock is no longer the recovery media for your PC. They store any long recovery media for older PCs.

  To be honest, if your hard drive has bad sectors it s time to replace because it s not advisable to save all data on it.

  With regard to the new HARD drive: you can install all models I think. Is important that you buy a model of 2.5 HARD drive SATA interface but each HARD disk will work so it s not making not specific.
  So, you can buy the Toshiba MK2565GSX you found :)

I restarted and went to the utility disk on my office and made the same thing. This time around the first aid took a little longer to work so I thought I had it, but these 50 GB are still missing.

  Anyone know how I can return these 50 GB? I prefer not to format my hard drive and start over. I just want back the 50 GB. Also, if anyone has the answer as to why he closed Middle partition would be great as well so I can make sure I do it correctly this time.
