  Someone at - it advice on obtaining this support of last year this laptop has been serving 5 times.

  This last time it took me a week to get a box to ship in return.  Total since I opened the ticket back has been 2 weeks and then he comes back not working!

• EliteBook 840: F4 key takes computer to lock screen [number of absolute reference in Excel]

  Hi all

  Here's the question I have that I noticed on my laptop Elitebook 840, Windows 7 64-bit business management.

  When I click on F4, it takes the computer to the lock screen. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but there is a problem, because the F4 is the key in excel which is supposed to provide absolute references to cells or the "$", as many know. It has all the ineffective because now I have to type the $ manually and I do not know why it is like that.

  I already tried the bios for the Fn keys option, but it just made my Fn key wont work at all, so I had to undo this change. I looked in the bios, but could not find anything else specifically associated with the F keys, let me know if I missed something.

  Just knowing this is what happens:

  F4 - any application/program - sends me it to the lock screen

  FN + F4 - give me the prompt to a different display for multiple display configurations configurations - works as expected.

  CTRL + F4 - closed the active window (yes I did completely during this first strike), as expected.

  ALT + F4 - same as ctrl f4, also as expected.

  AFAIK there is no any other combination of F4 there, and I really prefer not having to press something with F4, whenever I make an absolute reference. I also looked in excel, but saw no option.

  Finally, it is a work computer, but I guess that our IT guys do not always use Excel, as he seemed to have little interest to fix the problem, but I don't have the ability to actually download things (like a hotkey regedit) or the software assistant HP, nor I would want to take the risk of malware (from a 3rd party) or addition of bloatware (from HP) on my new work computer.

  Any help that can be offered would be appreciated.

  Hi all

  I found a solution, which is probably pretty specific to my business, but in case someone of another company uses HP laptops with the following software, it might be something interesting to look at.

  Our company uses Imprivata Agent as a single sign - on a keeper and there was a glitch or user access issue which eventually cause F4 lock the computer screen. Once my COMPUTER service has been able to reinstall and reconfigure my rights on Imprivata the problem disappeared after a few business days, and F4 is finally working right.

  So if you're having for my specific problem and typical bios option does not work for you, then perhaps check some other incompatible software.

  I bought 2 Kingston 8 GB of Ram for my HP Elitebook Folio 9470 m (Windows 8 Pro) be upgraded to 8 GB to 16 GB. According to "Memory search" of the Kingstons the RAM I bought should work with my laptop:

  Module 8 GB - DDR3 1600 MHz

  Weight: KTH - X3C / 8G

  Yes, it should work. I checked the site of Kingston and memory is specifically recommended for your model. I try every Kingston module separately with the HP module and run a comprehensive test of memtest on it.

  Create a bootable usb stick with memtest cd and run it on each module. I suspect that you got a bad stick of RAM. At least if it doesn't not Kingston is very reputable, and they will refund your money.  This is proposed by Crucial memory:

• Display brightness with EliteBook 8460p function keys

  I'm having the same problem with my brand new 8460 p which was much discussed here: the brightness of the screen cannot be adjusted using the function (fn + F keys) then under Windows. In other threads, the problem has been resolved by installing the latest drivers for chipset (which was not provided by HP), but in these discussions, the computer was an earlier model. 8460p has the new QM67 express chipset and currently I use the latest drivers for it (according to the website of detection of intel).

  So, does anyone have a solution how I might be able to fix this annoying little problem?

  I'm running a new installation of Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit with all the latest drivers.

  Is there a a way to disable the touchpad while leaving the switch toggle active?  My hangover inches the touchpad and inadvertently touch that takes place not intentional.  He drives me crazy!  Can anyone help?

  Hey guys

  From time to time my driver wireless Intel Centrino Advanced - n 6235 got disabled. I had to re-activate manually.

  The Error Message I received:

  "The driver failed to load for the device ACPI\HPQ6000\3 & 33fd14ca & 0 \Driver\WUDFRd."

  What I did was download the new driver directly from intel (HP has an older one on the site of drivers)

  Hello, problem with drivers for on windows 8.1 wwan module

  my laptop has two OS - wndows 7 and 8.1 of windows and HP module HSPA + hs2350

  on windows 7 ADSL module works very well, with 'hp connection manager' and 7.2.8.1 drivers

  but on windows 8.1 after install 7.2.8.1 device drivers marked "yellow triangle" in the Device Manager and did not work

  problem solved with unistalling all network drivers and reinstall it again, now working under windows 8.1

  I know that this is a trivial question, but bothers me so this is:

  I had to reinstall Win7 on my laptop. There are two buttons lit in the corner at the top right of the keyboard: one for staff and one for audio. The wifi button turns orange when I turn it off and back to white when, but the audio button will switch colors, it remains white. It works for example. I can cut or activate audio on with her.   One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

  When the Chipset resettlement has completed, reboot the laptop and let Windows load completely-, it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, restart the laptop again before checking the function of the button mute conduit.

  You need the driver for the base system device JMicron card reader.

  The media JMicron card reader driver allows the card slot multimedia integrated in the laptop models running a supported operating system.

  This would be the only issue that I can help you.

  You need to contact HP technical support to get a sort of BIOS file they will send you to unlock the BIOS P / w.

  I forgot what they call it.  Explain the situation... you need to unlock/reset the BIOS password you forgot.

  There is a history tab of revision on the file of the mouse driver that displays the newer versions you may want to try...

  I have a folio elitebook - 9470 m HP and today I formatted diskpartitions all with command prompt (ntfs) because I wanted to clean the SSD to re install Windows 10. After a reboot, I get the error message: "can't find any bootable image, notebook will be stop.

  I tried to select the USB drive as the start number one option because I have a picture of 10 Windows bootable on my USB key. I can't the computer to boot from the USB - stick to install Windows. It makes me really mad because I never had problems like this, and I installed Windows several times on the same notebook. (But never formatait all the diskpartitions)

  So if anyone could help me it would be much appreciated!

  What you can do is to go to the Microsoft website and download the Windows ISO file

  You can either using their all-in-one utility to create a USB flash drive or choose to save the ISO file and then run Rufus to create the USB key.

  I have a laptop HP 9470 m and it keeps a malfunction. Once I connect to my laptop and everything is started, if I move the laptop to quickly or set it to hard, WiFi turns off and the keyboard goes crazy.   Hello I have an Elitebook 9470 m ultrabook with a mechanical hard disk of 500 GB and a cache of 32 GB mSATA player.

  My ultrabook is still in warranty, so my question is can I take it to a service of HP to replace the mechanical HARD drive with an SSD or mSATA SSD? If so what I have to pay the full price of the new drive or can I get a discount from the original disk?

  Or if I replace HARD drive myself what I lose the warranty?

  OK, here's the solution I got from HP support:

  Go to the BIOS Setup F10, select System Setup, disable "Secure Boot", then select "Legacy", as "Startup Option. Save and restart, now you are able to boot from a bootable Usb key.

  I have a new and pretty HP Elitebook Folio 9470 m for the test - it came with the operating system Windows 7 preinstalled. I wanted to check some things, play with it and as a careful user I wanted to first create recovery media. I have a 65GB flash drive which I previously used as a recovery media for other laptops, and (as this model does not have a CD/DVD drive) I wanted to use this time as well.

  First I searched on the web to find out how to create a recovery what USB for this laptop but the HP Web site gave me the info to use Recovery Manager, which I have not installed on this laptop - when I search for "recovery", I get something like "create HP recovery CD. And when I try to use it I get an error about no writable media (even the flash drive is connected).

  I came across a tip to the laptop F11 before starting, but I do not get the Recovery Manager or the other.

  Should I download and install from somewhere or there at - it another way to create the recovery key for this laptop?
