HP ENVY 17-K201na: HP Envy 17-K201na - possible error of 850 m Geforce GTX... Please, help me, I'm at my wits end.

This has been a rough 48 hours.
I currently have a laptop that I can not use for games or work, which is the main reason that I need this laptop for...

I get errors or hangs when there is any attempt to access the dedicated, either through the graphics card simply open the application experience of nvidia, trying to play a game, using after effects/cinema 4 d or even try to use dignostic toolsto test problem. I tried furmark, that blocks the system if the nvidia card is enabled.

I realized that if the card is disabled, the system works very well. This should not be the case.

Help me please if you can... I spent so much money that I don't have to get this phone and all I have right now is the stress.

My laptop has been delivered on Thursday at 16:00:
After 6 hours, he started having errors around TDR (Timeout detection and recovery) of the kernel driver nvidia (could not load nvlddmkm.sys), I rolled the driver back to version factory with no luck and another unistalling installation and reinstallation, I gave up.

Friday:
... Think that all software pre-installed may interfere, I decided that I would use the HP recovery application to create a new installation of windows, this process has crashed to halfway through the process, which has damaged my full recovery and left me without usable OS or the way to solve this, because it is more no key license windows on current laptops , I could not install a new version of windows 8.

I contacted customer support online team and was invited to test the integrity of the system. All these tests came back fine.
After 5/6 hours of testing (23:00 Friday night), it was too late to contact the team once more, and thus I would not be able to communicate with them for 2 days with essentially a laptop of bricks, I decided to find a solution... I was also told that the product code for windows has been on bios, and I discovered the tool for creating windows media, which can create a boot disk for windows 8.1 lift my machine up and running.

Saturday:

Have a completely fresh install, I hoped it would end well, but nope. The same error occurred when only the OEM version of the nvidia drivers installed... which came with the same kernel error 3 or 4 times froze my computer, then crashed the laptop to a blue screen of death (dpc_watchdog_violation)

I installed the latest nvidia drivers, who fortunately does not plant a blue screen, but when even contained the same kernel errors.

I then created a complete reinstallation of windows and load each update and update HP driver and installed the drivers OEM once, I fell blue screen again, then again, I installed the latest drivers, who have been more stable, until I have a reason any received a blue screen I've yet seen. (I have the memory of the present dump if it's helpful)

Hey Kevin,

I'm afraid that your answer was too late.

I had a conversation with tech support Monday on this situation and already had a file number on this problem. I was told then to communicate with customer it's a serious problem that happened within the first 30 days of receipt of the unit.

As of today, I sent the unit to HP for a replacement as this laptop was considered faulty and should receive a replacement within 2 business days of HP got my laptop.

  • GeForce GTX 770 runs on the HP Envy Phoenix 810SE?

    I am considering buying the HP Envy Phoenix 810SE and I want to configure it with the i7 - 4930K (optional) Hexacore and 2 GB of Nvidia GeForce GTX (optional) 770. However, the power of this model is only a low 500 watts - however the recommended minimum power for the 770 according to Nvidia GTX is 600 Watts it consumes typical of 230 watts.

    My question is how this platform may run the card at all?

    I mean I'll take Hexacore i7 - 4930K which consumes 105 watt just by itself, add in 2 hdd (35 watt) as well as a dvd player + motherboard and memory. I don't see how this configuration may work.

    Any thoughts?

    power max is just what components are going to shoot when they are maxxed out.

    You can get away with running this solution, but if the execution of some heavy games can draw more power than the system can handle.

    If this is the case, you may need to upgrade the power supply.

    on the drives, you can run an SSD that will consume less energy than your spinning disks.

    While this PC is still under warranty, contact HP customer care directly so that they can put you in contact with HP Technical Support to see what they can do on the diagnosis and repair of your machine remotely.

    I did recently, and HP technology was able to remotely access my PC on the Internet and to make the necessary repairs.

    I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your computer installation failure HP ENVY laptop and factory reset and recovery. Try to do a Factory reset with the HP Recovery Manageron its own without the inserted DVD.

    I recommend to restore the default BIOS settings. You could restore the BIOS withthis document by selecting the reload the default BIOS settings. In this way, it will look at the hardware installed on your laptop.

    Trythis toWindows. A repair may help. In my view, the DVD is the issue or is corrupted.

    You could look at this from Microsoftwhich has some troubleshooting in her steps.

    Since yesterday my PC Envy 27 reports error Smart HD.   The details of the error message are:

    The hard drive name: 10000LM014-1EJ164-SSHD

    Volume: C:\;D:\

    I managed to back up my files. PC ist still restart but with repeated error note. I did the Windows 10 hard drive Diagnostics, that shows all the problems. The HP Hardrivetest shows:

    Error ID: Q0F619-7GF887-X87R6K-609U03

    Product ID: K2D53EA #ABD.

    Are there any repair tool that can solve the problem?

    HD Smart error normally indicates that the hard drive is about to fail or has not already. The only cure is to replace the hard drive with a new unit. If the computer is still under warranty, contact HP Customer Support to start a claim... If the computer is no longer under warranty, please buy a new hard drive to replace the bad.

  • HP Envy m6 1125dx: USB Ports are not working please help

    I had problems with my USB ports on my laptop Hp Envy M6 1125 DX. Only 1 usb port works and the rest do not work. I tried everything to update the BIOS updated the drivers from the site. I don't know if the driver is not installed or if it's just a bad USB port, but I didn't really notice it until recently, when I bought a headset and I couldn't use it as my only working port is used by my mouse.

    In the USB tab in Device Manager, it has the following features;

    I got this error message when you try to download the drivers to install this printer HP Envy 4520:

    Call to DriverPackageInstall returned error 5 for package "C: / Prgram files/HP/HP ENVY 4520 Series/Driverstore/NGScanDriver/HPNIA_EN4520.INF."  A caller of DriverPackageInstall must be a member of the Administrators group to install a driver package.

    What the hell it means, and how should I do to fix this?  All ideas are welcome.

If I understand your description that you see "Call to DriverPackageInstall returned error 5 for package" C: / Prgram files/HP/HP ENVY Series/Driverstore/NGScanDriver/HPNIA_EN4520.INF 4520.  A caller of DriverPackageInstall must be a member of the Administrators group to install a driver package. "When you try to install the software.

    You are the administrator on this PC, or you logged in to the Admin account? If this isn't the case, please ensure that you install on the Admin account.

    If you try to install on the Admin account, please perform a clean boot and try to install again. If you need help by performing a clean boot, click the following link: How to perform a boot in Windows.
