HP Envy 4500: HP envy Wi - Fi printing and 4500 - half page only

I'm trying to print from my HP envy 4500 from my top of Dell Windows 7 Desktop Professional.  I only get half of the page and the printer never ends the book, so I always have to pull him out.  It's so weird, because all my HP printers before the pages flew and I always pick up out of the ground.

The amount of data, I get a page can vary - sometimes a few more lines than the other.

Sometimes I get the header of a page on another page background (for a while I thought it was a problem with the paper, but this can happen many times even with a few pieces of paper (no stuffing).)

I turned on and off several times and still no luck.  Please advise!

Hi @kwhitebuy,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I noticed that you can print half page, with your HP Envy 4500, Windows 7 wireless printer. I'm happy to help with this problem!

What happens when you try to print a test page from the printer control panel? Video: printing a Test Page. The same thing happens?

If so, please try the steps outlined in this guide, an "out of paper" message. As it will show you how to clean the rollers in the printer. (Even if the title of the guide may not correspond to your question, I think that the solutions will help.)

If the same is not the case, please try our HP print and Scan Doctorand let me know the results!

  • HP Envy 5540: Printer Hp Envy 5540 randomly printed the Network Configuration Page

    Hello!

    I bought this printer about a month ago. Set up the connection to the printer wireless with my wifi, and my understanding is that the printer is protected like my wifi and use the same password in order to print something. I kept my printer connected and 'standby mode' since I put in place. The night last at about 23:00 when I was in bed, the printer turned on randomly and printed a "wireless network configuration page" that has had a lot of information, including the IP address and listing my name wifi as well as the names of my neighbors wifi in the surrounding apartments.

    I'm trying to understand why this printed, because I certainly did not do. Anyone have access to my wifi, or has someone may simply try to print something and selected my printer as it should appear on the "list available connections on the computer of anyone, given that the printer is turned on? How could they print this sheet of network configuration if my printer is password protected?

    I'm mostly concerned about someone who has access to my internet if they could print this page somehow, but maybe it happened just when they tried to connect to it, and it did not work while trying to fix MY printer?

    I would appreciate any idea on the issue.

    Thank you!

    Hi @printerprob5540,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

    I saw your post on how your HP Envy 5540 randomly print a Network Configuration Page. I'm happy to help with this problem!

    I find it very strange considering the only way to print the Network Configuration Page, AFAIK, is with the following steps:

    • Make sure that there are size A4 or US Letter, unused, plain paper in the feeder.
    • On the printer Panel, drag the screen to the left and then press Setup.
    • Touch tools.
    • Drag upward on the screen and then tap Network Configuration report.
    • A Network Configuration Page prints up to three pages of information.

    Hi @lucky33,

    Thank you for visiting the Forums from the HP Support! I see when you print on your HP Officejet Pro 8500 a text is very large, so it prints on several pages. You have tried without success, some troubleshooting steps.

    You try to print a document or an element of a web page? What program or browser you use?

    If you are using a Windows operating system, please try the following:

    1. open an Internet Explorer browser, go to the far right click on the gear icon

    2. Select Print Preview

    3. now along the top, you will see an option to change the size of the page, please make sure that it is set to adjust or 100%.

    4. now, try a test page, the text is expanded?

    Now go ahead and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor:

    -It has been designed by HP users troubleshooting and problems characteristic needed to solve many common problems encountered with HP print and scan products related to Windows computers.

    b. the user may see them if they decide to print

    2 format pages 2,3,4 as visible print only and restrict printing to the user

    3 format pages 2,3,4 as hidden and have the form submitted as xml and import them into the complete PDF

    a. There are fields that are changed dyamically based on the selection of the user (ie. selection of fonts), so that the xml import does not work for this

    Any ideas on how to "get my cake and eat it too."

    Hello

    You could try a hidden field that seeks the username «»

    There are security problems, and the script has to be in a position of trust. You can make this place a Javascript file inside the Acrobat folder. The penalty usually with trusted fuctions is that you must send to each user a copy of the js file and it should also put it in the appropriate folder.

    In your case is not a problem, because you only want the js file on your computer and do not need to distribute it to others.

    When you put the (downloaded) file in Acrobat / folder Javascript, Acrobat will load it automatically.

    In Acrobat, make sure that you have defined a 'name' in Edition / Preferences / Identity tab:

    When you open the PDF document, your user name will be on the field. This only happens if the js file is loaded in the correct folder on the computer that you are using.

    Once it's working, it's a simple step to include an if statement in the textfield, after the script located in the initialize event:

    If (this.rawValue == "lfalke") / / or whatever your username is set on...

    {

    Page2.presence = "visible";

    page3. Presence = "visible";

    page4. Presence = "visible";

    }

    on the other

    {

    Page2.presence = 'hidden ';

    page3. Presence = "hidden";

    page4. Presence = "hidden";

    }

    This means that the visibility of the three pages would be automatic. User with the js file AND your username could see pages 2-4, everyone would not see these pages.

    I know it's a little complicated, but once put in place it should continue to work OK.

    Hope that helps,

    Niall

  • Pavilion Slimline: Printer and Webcam not working only not with Pavillion Slimline, Windows 8

    I'm writing to a friend... None of us is particularly in computer science.

    Recently, his computer had to be replaced; so, she bought a used HP Pavilion Slimline, 400-034 PC with Windows 8 OS (not sure that all the operating system to 64-bit... just guessing).  The PC seems to work very well; However, with its previous system she used a printer (HP 7410 All in One) and a webcam (HP-HD-HD3110 & HD 3100).  She can't get either auxiliary to work devices.  Can anyone tell me if these components are compatible and that, if so, wherever it can access drivers or other software that may be required.

    Also, would you recommend that she has first upgrade to Windows 10?

    Thank you

    Terry

    Hello Terry,

    A Windows 8 driver must be installed to use the printer on the new PC.

    You can either upgrade to Windows 10 or not, the printer is compatible with both operating systems and it is a matter of personal preference...

    For 7410 printers, drivers can be downloaded from the following link:

    http://ftp.HP.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL31015/MP-110171-4/Full_Webpack-140.0.408-5-AIO_CDB_FSW_Full_Win_WW_140_408-5.exe

    Note: If the printer is connected to a USB port, unpulg the cable from your PC now.

    In the devices Panel and printers and select remove device for the icon of the printer before installing the software.

    Regarding the HP Webcam, I'm afraid that it's incompatible with Windwos 8.1 or Windows 10, it is only supported on Widnows 7 or earlier operating systems:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-Web-cameras/4172393/model/4172477/document/c03162257#AbT1

    You try to install the drivers for Windows 7 by using Compatibility Mode (download the file to your computer, right click and select Troubleshoot Compatibility and then follow the steps on the screen) but it has never tested on Windows 8 or 10 and if it works not you replace the webcam with a model more late which is compatible with the operating system.

    Kind regards

  • DeskJet HP 2542: hp 2540 won't print documents from the computer, but test print and network configuration page

    My printer hP model 2540 series deskjet A9U27A not print from my computer. It passes over the Network Setup page test, also has good test print. The printer is set up wireless. Have you tried the scan and printing doctor, but it says there is a software problem. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software with the original disc, then provided with the software most up-to-date of HP. I did this step several times. Tried several drivers. Tried a static IP address. I'm through with this printer. have also tried to this cycle. Also tried to reconfigure the system. Nothing seems to work. NOTE: When I got this printer I got the same problem, but since it was under warranty Hp remotely solved the problem. They said that the issue was the software so they installed a kind of universal software. Can someone get to the challenge to help me solve the problem printer? Thanks in advance for any help.

    So after a search much more, someone else came up with a solution to my problem. For windows users, it is a question of the evolution of the drivers. A specifically. The 990c driver. I'm not sure of the exact user or the subject header, but it goes like this for windows vista.

    1. click on start

    2. click on Control Panel

    3. click on printers

    4. right click on the printer in question

    5 point to run as administrator, and then click Properties

    6. click on continue

    7. click on advanced

    8. click on new driver

    9. click on next

    10. click on HP under manufacturer

    11. under printers, click HP deskjet 990c

    12. click on next

    13. click on finish

    14. click on apply

    15. click on ok to close

    This is very similar for all windows programs operating.

    with a little research, you will be able to find the exact measurements for each operating system

    Hope this helps all who have the same problem

  • Cannot print more than two pages

    Hello here

    I have a rather strange problem today: one of my users cannot print more than two pages...

    Regardless of the printer, the application or document, this specific user will receive the first two pages printed on the right, then a windows error (cannot print, the likely reason is a failure of the network, not enough memory, etc.)

    Current config is

    -User logged on the Witch of Windows 2008R2 Server Citrix XenApp 6.5 (published desktop).

    -Print server Windows 2008R2 with something like 150 shared printers

    I tried with other printers and file formats, on separate servers, it's always the same.

    Of course, everything works perfectly fine for other users...

    I'm not sure if any parameter can block printing up to two pages only, or anything else. Before you delete and recreate the user profile, as everyone has an idea?

    In fact, the error message is displayed even when successfully printed a shortest work!  It seems that when a task is finished the unit does not release the printer for the following work, but retains all the tasks in the queue.  With respect to jobs longer, it could be that the printer prints what it holds in a memory buffer, but then cannot reload the buffer with the next segment to print.  Printer status report and test network running wireless reports revealed no problems.  I have moved away from the printer to the desktop and removed one recently added anti malware app without success.  I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer.

    Hey @saycheese,

    I understand that you get the "error printing" message when you print multiple pages of your computer Windows 8.1 documents to your HP ENVY 4500 e-all-in-one printer. I would like to help you today with this printing problem. Right now, it sounds like a conflict of WSD Port (network) takes place within your computer Windows 8.1. Therefore, at the beginning troubleshooting I'll have you run a patch to correct this problem. Please follow the steps below.

    Microsoft has released a hotfix to correct printing problems in Windows 8.1 operating system. Printing problems seem to affect printers on a network, regardless of the brand or model, and there is a conflict with the WSD Port network Windows 8.1. Please click here to download and run a Microsoft Fix it Tool. "Once the site opens for the fix, please click on the button 'available hotfix download". Please follow the prompts on the screen to install the hotfix. Once the fix has been loaded please try again to print a multi-page document.

    Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. I can't wait to hear strings attached good luck!

    Hello and welcome to the HP support community!

    It seems that you use one of the two methods of Wi - Fi connection available on your printer called "Live wireless".

    He transforms your printer into a wifi hotspot and does not require a router or an existing wireless network.  It disconnect any device that you use to access the printer on the internet.

    I suggest that you turn it off and use your home network instead.  Search for "Live wireless" in your network settings on the printer and power it off.

    I've recently updated to windows 10 and my HP Envy 4502 printer will not print.

    I removed the drivers and downloaded new drivers and software, but still the same. I can run a test print and all others using the HP printer Assistant, maintenance of your printer, I can print a Diagnostic print quality report. So this shows me that the printer driver works OK just that the interface of any software to print is not.

    When I use other milder like Microsoft word and Notepad of paper but coils I get nothing printed on the printer.
