HP Envy 4520: WiFi / network issues

I'm really disappointed on the HP Envy 4520, I bought a few weeks ago.  I have installation and re - install, then uninstall and re-uninstalling the software/driver more than 20 times since December 19, 2015, on my laptop!  Changed the settings on the router as well (an ip address static, changed to N G mode, lowered the security on my firewall Protocol).  Nothing will fix THE problem.

Whenever it is the SAME problem: I turn on the printer, then I rush to print a document.  I should be done in an interval of 2 minutes, otherwise, I get an error message: "unable to communicate with the printer.  So, I turn it on, then go back on it and then... it prints... as long as it's not more than 5 pages at a time, otherwise, the printer goes offline in the middle of page 6 and the screen freezes.  I can't turn the printer power off, then on again, or he resumes the set from the beginning and jams print job / freezes after 5 pages.  I make sure that cancel printing, and then print page 6 from.

Today I bought a 10 ft USB cable because I'm so tired of upward and in pain (Tennis Elbow) - up to turn on the printer, then off, then on again to get the printed pages + 10 times a day has become a real danger for my mental health and my physical health.  Well, guess what?  Although it IS connected via a USB cable, the darn printer seems to go offline within 3 minutes of being turned on, although the power section is set to the following: Standby Mode = 15 min.; Auto off = never; Power Button = goes into Sleep Mode.  I have also reset the printer to factory settings more than once when reinstalling the drivers from scratch (+/-20 times).

I wanted just a printer that works in wireless mode, and it is NOT working at all.  Even if the printer sell for $10, it's not all the aches and pains for that amount.  If the Envy 4 K series all have the same problem, I will shop for another BRAND for sure (I shouldn't have sold my HP DeskJet to a printer wireless without value as this!).

I would like to know my options from that point on.  Thank you for your quick response in this case.

    Not really.

    You can try to connect your printer to your phone hot spot and then your phone to the internet.  But here, no warranty.

    In order to use instant ink, you need to connect your Internet printer at least twice a month.

    I have trouble trying to connect my Macbook Pro in direct wifi hidden from the HP Envy 4520.  I was a fool to put on to hide the name of the network through a web server built when I thought it was to hide direct wifi of my printer to another person.  Now I can't find a way to fix my mistake.  I don't remember the full name of the SSID.  I tried to do the reset factory and reset network printer, but in vain.  I can't even go back to the built-in web server because I have no direct wifi printer.  How can I cancel or solve this problem?  Or how to find the wifi of my printer on my network?

  • HP Envy 4520: HP Envy 4520 does not print Word files double face on wifi, only on USB

    I posted a question earlier of not being able to print wireless from my Macbook Air on my new printer Envy 4520. I then gave a follow-up saying: I had solved.

    What I didn't know then, was that it would only print MS Word for Apple Mac unilateral files Wireless 2011, but if the USB cable was connected, it would be too two-sided printing. Also, I didn't know that my dose to get the printer working wireless also gave rise to no sweeping wireless.

    I just spent two hours with a HP technician on the phone and work remotely on my laptop. It solves the problem of scanning wireless, but not the two-sided with MS Word printing problem. We have established that I can print a PDF to preview or Adobe duplex wireless, though. So the problem seems to be with Word.

    My old dead canon printer replace this one, I had no problem to print documents duplex wireless.

    Any suggestions how to solve this problem?

    "If you are able to print correctly in Word when connected with a cable, then Word works correctly." The wireless part has absolutely nothing to do with Word, Word has no features built in wireless. Wireless communications are between the operating system and the printer driver: the word is out of the picture at this point.

     

    The sad truth is that since HP has faced financial problems of a few years back, they have reduced the test driver, especially with the less popular operating systems like OS X and Linux. A lot of windows users who use less popular programs like Microsoft Publisher have also more difficulty with HP printers. "They just don't have enough in their R & D budget more to test each program in each operating system."

    What seems the most likely issue. It is a prlobem of dirver. Perhaps in a future version of the HP Mac driver, it will work. Do not hold my breath.

    We currently have a HP Envy 4520, which print, however don't scan or copy over the network.

    I have downloaded and run the HP doctor tool, but it crashes to Windows Image Acquisition (WIA). This article has been read a few topics here, I restarted the following three services:

    1. Remote procedure call (RPC)
    2. Shell Hardwarew
    3. Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)

    Once I finished at the outset what precedes, the scanner worked as expected. However after a reboot - the problem is more severe. The doctor program crashes at the same section and restart services fail to achieve something.

    All software and drivers are up-to-date by using what has been provided on the HP website.

    The error messages vary as well, for example Adobe, I see "fatal error. Commissioning stopped. "

    I managed to solve the problem. After you reset the windows service, you must then make sure that the printer restarts too! I didn't do that. Once done all is well!

  • HP Envy 4520: Connection issues 4520 for HP ENVY

    I have a printer HP ENVY 4520 that worked well on two laptops, I installed to use it.

    I have not moved, laptops or printer, my router, it is the same as that in the same place, but for some reason, I can connect is more the printer to one of the laptops.

    I ran HP print and doctor to analyze several times and even if I get to a screen where the printer appears so I select I get the error "unable to connect".

    On another laptop computer, the printer works perfectly.

    I'm certainly not technical but am generally OK to do things normal PC/printer but am completely confused and would appreciate advice available.

    Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

    I see that you have some problems with printing from a Windows 7 PC to your Evny 4520 e-all-in-one printer. I can help you with that.

    Here is how we will fix this problem:

    1. Turn the printer and the PC which is not properly disabled print.
    2. Disconnect the power cable from the back of the router for a minute.
    3. When all the lights are coming back on the router, turn on the printer and the PC.
    4. On the PC, click Start and devices and printers.
    5. Right-click on any icon of your printer listed.
    6. Click on remove the instrument.
    7. Repeat for all other icons of your printer listed.
    8. Click Add a printer.
    9. Select your printer from the list and follow the prompts to add your queue to your PC.

    At this point, you should be able to print. If you can't, please let me know what happened following my directions and I will be able to help you further.

  • How to connect my Time Capsule to a WiFi network?

    Happily, I use a Time Capsule for years as a WiFi router connected as a bridge to the router provided by my supplier.

    Now, I'm moving to a place where internet is already provided by an access point in my new apartment and included in the monthly cost of the facilities in this village. The access point is hidden behind the ceiling of my apartment and doesn't have any port ethernet except the one used to get the internet. WiFi which will be available for me is configured by an administrator with the name of my apartment.

    My internet needs TC that the ethernet source and I wonder what I could do to work around this problem. I don't see any option in the settings of TC to connect to an existing WiFi.

    While waiting to move to the new apartment, I did a test by trying to create a scenario similar to the House, for example by using the wifi router of my provider to create a wifi network, then using an extension of WiFi that is connected to A WiFi network and connect my TC via ethernet connected on WiFi extender set up my TC as a bridge and the creation of a WiFi B with my TC that I can use with my devices. It works fine, but I wonder if there is something I'm missing or a better solution or possible issues related to this configuration.

    In a Word, nothing. The TC must connect to a network by using a wired Ethernet cable connection. The only exception to this would be a Workbench where you already have a router Apple providing a wireless signal, in which case the TC can connect wireless to "extend" the network.

    This is how the TC must be connected to the network of the apartment. If your extension does not work with the network of the apartment, an AirPort Express could be used to 'join' the network wireless of the apartment, and then provide an Ethernet connection to the Treasury Board.

    Problem: My early 2015 retina 13 '' Macbook pro intermittently "latch" on a wifi network in my house.  Which means, if I'm on my 2.4 GHz network, it works very well and then randomly - while remaining always connected to the wifi network - will lose its ability to connect what be it for 30 seconds to 1 minute. This occurs every 5-10 minutes. If I go to my 5 GHz connection, it works very well for 5-10 minutes. I keep having to switch back so that it could respond more quickly, or let them hang for a minute until he figures it by itself.

    Meanwhile, I can connect with my iPhone, Windows laptop, Xbox, computer, etc. without any problems. If I take my macbook in wifi areas, I have never run into this issue. I don't really know what to do, and faced with the conclusion this problem online - as it is a very specific set of variables causing problems.

    Please see recommended settings of WiFi routers and access Apple points.

    Despite these recommendations, some routers will work better with the latest Mac models if you turn the radio 2.4 GHz mode in settings and only use the 5 GHz. Note, however, that very old devices Apple and some third-party devices can then not connect at all.

    Some third party routers have advanced that you may need to change the settings:

    The encryption algorithm must be AES.

    The group key interval must be 3200.

    I can't give you specific instructions on how to change these settings, because all routers are different. Refer to the documentation for the provider.

    I just added an ethernet cable from my modem and run the floor and attached to an airport express.

    I feel that I cannot expand my wifi network at the bottom and have created a new network on the floor.

    Now, these two areas have wifi under the 2 networks.

    If you can, go to 5 GHz, you will see an improvement in wireless performance much better.

    Is the second configuration of the airport as a Repeater/Extender?

    If Yes, get another cable ethernet and Garland like this-> Modem to AP1 to AP2

    Give the same AP2 SSID and password as AP1, only she set to different channels.

  • Samsung wireless surround does not work with Airport wifi network

    It works fine when it connects to the router provided by my ISP sky. But when I try to do the same when connecting to the network created by the airport, it won't work no-more precisely, I'm unable to select "link Multiroom' (step 19 in the link above).

    Note: There is no problem connecting to the wifi network - it's this last step which is the issue.

    Any ideas as to why this may be the case?  I need to use the extended network of the Hub of sky wifi is very low when the TV is.

    Here is the configuration...

    Router-> Airport Extreme-> Airport Express-> TV + Surround Sound

    (Airport extreme is the bridge mode value and the expansion of the wifi network Express).

    I'm not familiar with Samsung wireless speakers, but let me see if I can help. What is the brand and model of your router provided by Sky? You have configured to provide a Wi - Fi network? Is the Wi - Fi network, provided by the extreme and extended by the Express, a second wireless network with a different SSID or using the same SSID as provided by the router from the sky?

    I followed the instructions to use settings in chrome to save my HP Envy 4520 with Google print clouds.  I get to the point where I went to the printer to press OK, it will display"add printer, then after a while, I get this error message:

    An error has occurred. Please check your printer and try again

    Thanks for your reply, but I'm not using the Chromebook.  I followed the instructions by using the settings in the chrome browser.

    I found another way to activate Cloud Print, so I'm OK now.

    Try to remove the printer and then add it again by opening the Preferences tab and then selecting «printers & scanners»

    From there, click on the sign less under the printer icon to remove the printer and then add again using the sign.

    This may help to solve your problem of connectivity.

  • Hidden WiFi networks

    At the Office I work, we have a hidden WiFi network that I added to my HD Atrix and I can't seem to connect to it. My Atrix 4 G had no problem with that. I know I have the connection settings correct WiFi I'm the Help Desk technician he puts on all devices. Is there a setting on the Atrix HD that I'm missing?

    There is much information android on this subject... I have not tried with ICS, but basically hidden wifi networks are a violation of the wifi Protocol. Everything simply because it works, does not mean that it is correct.

    I posted at length on this subject in the past - there is zero security benefit in hiding an SSID as anyone with sniffer cand find out the hidden network.

    Google's android code page has a lot of open bug agains hidden SSID reports, but I don't think that they will change behavior because it is not a bug. The Protocol provides that the SSID.

    Someone said it may be addressed to 4.0.4 but I can't find anything official on this issue. Personally, I hope they leave such as SSID hidden gives people a false sense of security.

    I just got a new HP Envy 4520 but am find all results to be printing out at an angle so that from the top of the right-hand page is greater than the left of 2mm.

    I thought the paper could feed into a corner and I looked at the paper in the tray and tried to ensure that it is as straight as possible with the guides of shelf as close as I can get without obstructing the paper, but this did not help.
