HP Envy 700-327C: walk of recovery materials (D); What would they

Believe it is 64 bit, but not sure if that makes a difference. It's Windows 10

Content of the recovery disc (D) seems to be ALL the files that are located on drive C with the exception of the info Office more a section marked or named "Recovery". Is it the way it is supposed to be?

The reason why I ask this is that I saw a question in a forum of Support HP indicating "Recovery Drive Full - new HP Envy Windows 10" and the answer was - "If your recovery disk is displayed as having a drive letter, which could be the source of the problem, as there may be a default download setting (as in a browser you use) which writes that animate its temporary files instead of disk. OS. " Then there were know get into disk management to see if the volume of recovery has a drive letter (D) and if so, how to erase it.

My d drive recovery - is not complete; It shows 1.89 GB free of 15.4 GB - (I'm not sure of what he showed when the PC has been implemented) and, as noted above, has all the files that are located on drive C with the exception of office. When I go to disk management the recovery volume shows the drive letter D. So delete it or not? Must drive D materials reproduce what's on drive C as described. Delete "D" drive Mgmt will create problems?

Thanks for yoour help

@OPAMA, welcome to the forum.

The D: partition is only recovery files.  There should be no other data on it.  However, that said, if you did the recovery media when you bought the computer and are positive that it works, you can delete the D: partition.  Normally I leave just to be sure.  Is the best solution to your problem, check which drive is when you save the data.  In addition, you can remove all the data that are the same as on the C: drive.

  • HP Envy 700 series: D Image Recovery

With regard to the D recovery image on my system.  How can I tell if it's a Windows 10 image a windows 8.1 or even an image of windows 7?  I did not have a new image after upgrade to windows 10 and don't know how or if I have to.  The calculation updates than on its own or I have to delete the image and make a new one?

    Yes, that's correct.

I always recommend that do you the recovery however W7 image.

Here is the link for Macrium Reflect.  I used it to create images of system on my PC.

    http://www.Macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx

I also did system images using the tool of imaging system (Windows 7) found at W10.

I used the W10 DVD I made Microsoft experimenting with a clean install of W10 on my PC that I had upgraded to W7 to test W10.

The installation ran flawlessly and since W10 has been previously activated, the new facility in W10 activated automatically because we "knew" that he had previously been legitimately installed and activated.

When you go this route, you will have the choice to enter a product key (which none of us have since we have updated for free), or click on the option 'I don't have a product key', which I did, and turned, off he went.

I tried restoring from an image of W10 performed through the tool of Windows 10 and it failed.

I wasn't a restore from an image of Macrium yet.

  • HP Envy 700-327c: Realtek RTL8151GH-CG

So I just got this office of second hand without a hard drive so I put a new in reloaded windows with the cd key on the side of the tower and when I booted the system up, I noticed six devices without drivers.

    List

    Blutooth controller

    Ethernet controller

    Network controller

    PCI Simple Communications controller

    SM Bus controller

    (USB) Universal Serial Bus controller

All listed so I jumped on the HP site and load the drivers from the website well is when things went from bad to worse. I managed to get everything except the SM Buss and PCI Simple communication drivers on the hp site I was able to find the rest of them without too much trouble and had all this work.

Then, I hit windows update and just a flood of errors which none come into play THAT AFTER I installed the drivers. I even went to the length of the purchase of a NEW copy of windows 7 just to play it safe because I didn't know the State of the series on the side of the case and even if he says he's active, I realized that the devil may be that is the question.

I ran SFC he didn't found any problems with the installation I used a number of tools from microsoft to attempt to repair that I managed to go up to SP1 before my update of windows would just stroll on the updates. Yet once, I guess it's the drivers because none of this started after I installed the drivers. Anyone has any ideas on this one?

Finally solved the problem after installing SP1, I just let it check the updates at night and this morning about 10 hours later he finds updates and worked without problem.

  • Pavilion laptop DV4 disk recovery installation issue what would it be?

I formatted my HARD drive using a bootable floppy to CD (Dariks Boot and Nuke) - who has written on the C and possibly partition D (HP Recovery)... Everything went well with that.

    HP DV4-1543sb

Original operating system was Win 7

    Laptop 2 years

    1. I then inserted the factory purchased HP disk recovery and booted from it (2 discs and 1 extra drive in the game)
    2. Installation went well with disc 1 that it then prompted me to two disc I did. Subsequently requested the extra disk I inserted.
    3. Once it is installed, it restarted the PC automatically and then start configuring Windows 7 up or at least begun to load (Win 7 was also my original OS).
    4. Process is completed and it still rebooted itself.
    5. Laptop computer loaded a little Windows (an icon appeared) and then suddenly a message saying error has occurred could not finish loading Windows)- or something of this nature
    6. Tried to reinstall and got the same scenario.
    7. Once more I formatted the HARD drive with a full format which took 2 hours.
    8. All that above was repeated with the same results.

    Any suggestions?

The BIOS may be corrupt and if yes, how can I install a fresh BIOS with no available Windows application.

    Thank you.

    Hello

I suggest to try the following workaround.

If you have (or can borrow) an installation disc Windows 7 at retail which is exactly the same version as your OEM installation - IE if your laptop comes with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit is the exact retail version, you would need.

If you do not access to the retail drives, you can create an installation disk yourself - just download good picture disc from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO on a CD blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

    Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key Windows located on the underside of your laptop when requested and when the installation is completeuse the 'method of phone", described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system - this method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want just a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally delivered with OEM installations.

    http://www.kodyaz.com/articles/how-to-activate-Windows-7-by-phone.aspx

Additional drivers, you may need to find from here.

    Hi there @BobMarley

I understand you are looking for assistance for the recovery of the BIOS by using the shortcut, or by using a USB key. I'm happy to help you with this.

Here are two documents for you to check. Of course, the first is specific to desktop computers and covers the shortcut key. The other property that for laptops also includes a section on the use of a USB device.

    Desktop HP - BIOS recovery

HP Notebook PC - restore BIOS

  • HP ENVY 700-210xt: how to reinstall after upgrade windows 10

I bought a HP ENVY 700 - 210xt delivered with Windows 8.1 and included a recovery for the same partition.  At one point last year, I used the free update of Microsoft to take the system up to 10 Windows.  As far as I know, it has no effect on the recovery partition.  Now, I met a hard drive problem, where the system will not start or recover.  My hypothesis is that I need to reinstall from scratch, but I have some problems.

    • If I order the HP recovery discs, they will be for Windows 8.1, but not my upgrade to Windows 10 invalidated the original license key?
    • If I get somehow 8.1 Windows reinstalled with the original key, can I still the free update me for Windows 10 of Microsoft?  I guess that their records show that I've already updated.
    • If I can't get this path to work, is there a direct way to return to Windows 10?  As part of the upgrade, I've never seen a new license key, but maybe it was and I never saw him.

You need a support SSD (like this) so he can climb properly.  I also was called to tie an SSD in the case from time to time... since it has no moving parts and is not fragile like hard drives disk.

    Hello again @Joebarnes,

Ahh well integrated graphic card does not work with the new card is installed. This means you will need an active USB-> DVI or Active USB-> HDMI graphics card to connect the additional monitor. These can be easily found via a search online. Be warned that they will not even display those directly related, quality but they have audio and video capabilities.

I hope this helps. Thank you again for post you on the HP Forums. Have a wonderful day!

  • HP Envy 700-430qe PC: Installation of SSD

I just bought a HP Envy 700-430qe PC and want to install a new 256GB Solid State drive.
    (1) can I just use the factory reset HP recovery option to install OEM Windows 8.1 on this operating system? Since the splash screen?
    (2) otherwise, what happens if I first install Windows 7 on SSD? I could then use the HP factory reset to clean install Windows 8.1? From the desktop?
    (3) or could you point me to a tutorial on installing a SSD using the OEM 8.1 operating system?

Apparently, many people have this issue, but I can't find an answer with a reliable consensus.

    Hello

You can use the external HP recovery media to install a new factory on the SSD system. It is the recommended approach.  Just follow the posted HP recovery procedures.  These extra HP posted articles will also be beneficial.  Read these articles before beginning the process.  Maybe twice would be wise.

  • HP ENVY 700-000z Desktop PC with 8 and the need to know if I can install Windows 7

Just bought HP ENVY 700-000z Desktop PC equipped with 8 and need to know if I can install Windows 7 on this computer without problem.  My work does not allow the use of Windows 8.  If I can install Windows 7, what version of operating system do I need to buy to do a clean install.

If I understand correctly, I could order the Windows 8 Pro, who has right to demotion and then install Windows

7 pro, I have then I should be able to get the drivers, I need HP is correct.

    WARNING *.

HP does not recommend installing Windows 7 on a computer comes with Windows 8, and it will support the installation of Windows 7. HP doesn't provide drivers for Windows 7 and the appropriate drivers are not available for the hardware in the computer. In addition, Windows 7 can not take in charge some of the hardware or software designed for the computer.

Make sure you create your media recovery HP or USB Flash Recovery discs before you edit or change anything.

    You should ENABLE 'Secure Boot' and maybe 'Legacy Support' in the 'BIOS Setup boot secured' on the settings page below, before you try to install Windows 7;

    or

In addition, as the hard drive is partitioned as TPG, you must start the computer by using the "UEFI - CD/DVD drive" in the start menu "F9". If "UEFI - CD/DVD drive" or something to that effect does not exist in the start menu, please post a screenshot and/or make startup listed options.

I suggest using Windows 7 SP1 for the best installation experience. If you need Windows SP1, see 'How to install Windows 7 without the disc' to download and create your own. If the DVD does not start as UEFI, you may need to use a USB Flash drive (can ask "Quick start" DISABLING in BIOS) as the installation media. Please download the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool to create a Windows 7 SP1 USB Flash drive.

Most of the Windows 7 drivers from the drivers of HP Pavilion p7-1299 c desktop PC page should work on your desktop HP ENVY 700 - 000z CTO. Both models use a variant of the motherboard HP Jasmine. If you have missing or unknown devices after installing the drivers, please post the "Hardware ID" Device Manager for devices as shown in the example below.

    Hello:

Support pages are working again and all the W7 x 64 drivers for your PC are on the link below...

Don't forget to make your set of recovery disks before installing windows 7, because once you do, the recovery partition very probably will not work any longer.  See this guide for how to do this.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03481733

In order to start from a DVD and to run Windows 7 on your PC, you must first change two settings of the BIOS.
