HP ENVY 850se Phoenix: HP ENVY Phoenix 850 DVD Drive

Hello

I just bought two HP ENVY Phoenix 850se computers.  I would like to return the DVD drive on one of them, 180 degrees so the axis to the other sense.  I studied the material and can't really tell if it is possible.  It seems that the bezel for the reader includes a curved upper part if it complies with the case.  I can't determine if this piece is 'readable' or not, and I thought that I post and ask here before tearing into it.

Thank you!

For those who follow along, the DVD player can not be returned because the bezel attached only one way.

    Hello

I'm looking for one of the new HP Envy Phoenix 850 models and ask yourself it is possible to:

    (1) add an additional optical drive? I have a spare Pioneer BDR-209EBK, (W148mm x H 42.3 mm x D180mm)

    (2) or replace the DVD SuperMulti HP standard burner (probably this one, which is THIN; H 12.7 mm x D126.1mm x W128mm)

The marketing material says "busy; external drive bays One available,"but looking at the photos in the 'upgrade and Guide service' I can't identify where the additional drive would be, and how it would be accessible.

    from the front panel.

The new models look slick, but if I'm not able to add/replace the optical drive, it may be a no-go - and I have to stick to the last years´ 810-models - or a competitor.

    Thanks in advance.

Any 12.7 mm mini-SATA Blu - Ray writer will work.

Just drag on the engraver of DVD and sock it to its place. You may have to port on the front, but this isn't a huge deal.

  • Envy Phoneix 850 160SE: USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 ports

    Envy Phoneix 850 160SE (new)

I have not found any manual on HP site with photo showing what USB 10 locations (6 are 3.0 and 4 2.0) tell me that are 3.0 or 2.0 and none came with the office.

There are 4 USB ports on the front panel, say two specifications are usb 2 and 2 usb 3,.

two of the ports have a small ss beside them, but I can't find how to identify

which 2 are 2 and 2 usb usb 3 or what that means little ss.

(If I had to guess I think the 2 ports with the ss little beside them are usb 3)

The back of the desktop computer has 6 usb ports, 4 usb 3 and two usb 2, again not manual

or spec identifys who are usb 3 or usb 2.  Also there is a group of 4 slots usb in a part of the back and another grouping of 2 connectors usb on the back, I guess that the Group of 4 is usb 3 and 2 group

are usb 2, but not sure I'm right.

    Anyone know?

    Thank you

    Hi Gary,.

Review of the below pictures for the types of USB ports.  SS refers to USB 3.

  • HP Envy 350 changeable x: drive DVD No on more than $800 wanted, I bought.

I didn't know when I bought my HP Envy last winter (more), it did come with a DVD/CD player.   I assumed that all laptops came with them. If I had known that there is no, I would not have bought the laptop.  Burning DVDs and games are a fun thing for me. How in the world can you download some things to the laptop if there is no CD/DVD drive?  I don't know much about computors, but for me that this is was an epic disappointment... I will never get my money on this laptop and I can't certainly allow me to replace it.  All I can do about it?

Buy an external CD/DVD drive that plugs into the usb port.

  • HP ENVY M6-1105DX hinges + DvD Drive to good work done?

Hello. I have some problems with my HP Envy m6-1105dx I received some time around Christmas 2012 from BestBuy. It has been a year of very pleasant to use, especially for games and social networks and other, and I was take care of it, ever since. I've never taken to anywhere outside of my home. I just leave it on a cool table where I can use it as a way to office everyday. However, all about the summer of last year, I noticed from my right hinge becomes very sensitive when closing it. So I thought that maybe I should close more slow the next time. After that around December 2013, the right hinge sprung loose on the right side, make some gaps between the right side of the hinge, on the side of the laptop screen and my monitor display 3 slim blue and purple lines, that irritate me.

After that, I sent my laptop to be inspected at first sight to a trustworty computer repair store I've visited when my old Office XP does not work. They were my only hope to the fixing of envy, because how my warranty expired around December of the same year, and someone in my house unfortunately threw the case and the reception I got from BestBuy. They mentioned how some companies use cheap adhesives and plastic to make new laptops. Above all, they took note of my DVD drive, which had a yellow bracelet that was not supposed to be as damaged as it seems. (I never really used the DVD player, since I already have music and videos on my phone). They charged me $30 for another review of the laptop inside, and if they found something seriously wrong with the laptop, they would charge me around $20 - $200 extra. At this time, I refused, looking for another way to fix. I tried to visit other repair shops and got the same answers, needing further inspections, etc.

I really need advice on what to do. I am only a teenager in high school, barely received any money to afford to repair. I have seen videos of YouTube on the repair of several screens of laptops Envy M-series, searched through the internet for several replacements, hinges, etc., screen or other repair shops. The thing is I'm not really confident in my ability to repair a laptop, and it feels like theres really nothing I can do.

My left hinge is at the point where its about to pop, and I'm starting to see good glue cheap ripping off the hinge, as if it was made in fact at a great price. I really need advice to find a way set these hinges and get my laptop back into shape.

Thank you for the time and I'm sorry if I wrote too.

  • HP Envy 15-J009WM w / no CD/DVD drive

    Hello-

I just replaced my old PC with a new laptop HP Envy, which I was love until I discovered it is not a CD/DVD drive at all. (It does not have a card reader).

It's common these days or I buy a bad model?

I have the camera software and some photos on CD. How do I get this on the laptop. What about the future software.

    Thank you.

    Hello

Many machines now do not have optical drive (CD/DVD drive) because sellers want to save a few hundred grams (that's why they call saving weight or similar terms). You can buy an external ODD, they are now very cheap if you need. For your camera, you can go to the support site of the seller to download updated driver (s) and the software, and then install on your new machine.

    Kind regards.

Have you tried The Microsoft Fixit for ligthscribe problems yet?

    Hi all

So I am desperately looking for a replacement hard drive cable for my laptop. (Envy Touchsmart 15-J144na)

HP part number is 718432-001. (Directly from repair HPs)

I tried the company I used to use FAE Supply Chain and after taking the money, they said two weeks later that they do not have, nor can they get it, for having issued a refund!

I am now hunting around but with very little success.

I only really need the cable, but fortunately buy any combination of products and parts to get to the bit, I want!

I'm self-employed, so that each day that passes that I lose money.

If anyone knows of any good company in the United Kingdom (or even in the world, im not picky!) would be great get your suggestions.

(Prefer original HP parts, but I can't afford to be more fussy!)

PS I tried all the companies on the site Web of HPs for the part and none of them have or even know what part im speaking of! (With the exception of Europarts EET I'm waiting for)

    Thank you

Just got a new 850se want Phönix and get all my fixed gear and functioning before joining the Windows 10 unit (under construction factory of Windows 7).    This product has Realtek HD Audio hardware and software of Bang & Olufsen.  The two configuration screens to test the connected speakers, but only produce a sound to two loudspeakers, which are connected to taking 'green '.  Bang & Olufsen config display 3 speaker inputs (6 channels) must be placed in the catch of green, pink and blue.  Realtek configuration screen appears to show that only the 'green' Jack is used for the output from the speakers.

    Find a setting that works.

On the Z906 Control Panel, disable the option NO EFFECT (3D, 4.1, 2.1) and all stakeholders work as needed in the right order (position).

Also for reference, a good connection has been determined as follows:

    Green (subwoofer) to green (PC)

    Rose rose (PC) (subwoofer)

    Black (subwoofer) to blue (PC)

Anyone who has used the Intel UERX to overclock their machine?  I'm a biy intrigued by what I see...

I just bought two of the 850-065se PC.  When I run the UERX on one of them, I get more options than others.  For example, the 'Memory' option does not appear in the list on either of the computrs.  I checked BIOS settings repeatedly and they are identical.

  • HP Envy Phoenix 850-055qe: I just bought the HP ENVY PHOENIX 850qe, what brand of RAM DIMM DDR3 - 1600 HP uses it?

I just bought the Office of series 850 want phoenix with 16 GB of RAM DIMM DDR3 - 1600 (2x8GB). The problem is I intend to switch to 32 GB of ram, but I don't know which brand to buy to match the stock ram that would usually come standard with the machine. I buy ram online so he comes the same day as my office. Does anyone know what brand hp uses? crucial? Corsair? PNY?

    Thanks in advance!

HP uses ram from different manufacturers, depends on which it can provide at any time, it isn't the brand but the specs that matter.

I would call Kingston or Crucial on the phone for help on the selection, as they ensure the compatibility.

  • HP ENVY Phoenix 850-065se: HP ENVY Phoenix 850-065se Power Supply replacement Question

On point to start using my new 850se and, like others, have long-term supply concerns with the unit from 500W to come with this model. Finally the PSU will have to be dealt with during the upgrade or this power will die quickly.  I thought I could just install a Modular 750W Cool Master PSU I have to just to fix the problem from the outset for the life of the platform. I jumped open the case and power supply cables was moving to look at and check the PSU is actually 500W (it is).

At first glance, everything in the 850se looks compact and compatible with a new PSU standard - then something cought my eye. Someone else saw the connector connecting the power supply that connects in the CD player? I'm not some tech pro by any means, but I'm not completely new at this stuff, and for the life of me I can't understand what is the connector. I am confused where I am fearful that it's some exclusive HP nonsense. I have never seen him and can not find maps while rummaging around looking. My only thought was there must be an adapter for the FDD or the 4 pin connector. I hope it is something simple that, for some reason, I just never saw.

If it's something completely owner, then I guess I can go along without the cd player. It's not like I need for what these days - but would of course I would powered it so it is an option.

Help at all or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Specs below:

    Kupchr36, welcome to the forum.

The PSU is ATX standard.  You should be able to update without any problem.  However, until you decide to upgrade the video card, it should work fine.  There is a lot of power for OEM components.  Personally, I love the Corsair products.  They are lovers of quality at a reasonable price.

  • HP Envy Phoenix 850: Using two monitors

I just updated my PC and bought two HP monitors.  Specification PC says he can support up to three monitors.  I'm not sure is how exactly to set up two monitors:

    -I.e. the ports to be used at the back of the PC.  I have an HDMI cable, but it seems that to adapt to one of the ports - yet there are 3 others in the back of the PC;

-Sounds like a silly question, but there are 3 other major ports at the back of the computer, are these a different type of HDMI port.  The monitors that I bought the HP Pavilion 23xw will have VGA and HDMI (the rear ports are labeled HDMI 1 and HDMI 2).

As noted, it might look like a very stupid question, but I can't find any help online to detail the ports on the back of my graphics card.

    Hello

He did 3 display ports, 1 HDMI port and 1 DVI port:

    http://support.HP.com/in-en/document/c04714105

You can use 1 Display port and HDMI port 1 or 1 HDMI port and 1 DVI port the port on which you have on your monitor. This video card can connect up to 4 monitors.

Yes, you can add that and it will work perfectly. I don't know what this beating around the Bush is all about. Its a pretty simple answer and I'm sorry you have not received a clear answer until now. If curious. You are not happy with the stock? Or perhaps do not provide for something else and just want more punch?
