  The only other way to install XP on this model is to go into the bios, the storage section and change the setting of sata ahci to ide emulation, save the setting here and once again, when you go out.

  The problem is that if you do this, you cannot change the setting for the preferred setting of DCIS, unless you know how to install the correct ahci sata driver after installing XP from the controller.  If you try to just change the setting back on ahci without having to install the controller driver, the PC does not start upward.

  Try "slipstreaming" the drivers first and if you can't swing, install XP in IDE mode and I'll help you get the drivers installed, so you can change the BIOS to ahci setting.

  To be honest, I agree with Akuma and it could be related to a dysfunction of HDD the error you described, but ensure 100% there s no software problem, you should try the Toshiba Recovery disk Windows installation.
