I just installed Windows 8 on my HP laptop, I tried to scan to computer on my printer HP Envy 114 and it won't scan to the computer, I ran the store to correct what ever the problem is but the convenience store said no problem. I checked to make sure that the scan of the computer is enabled and it is, but still won't work, says windows 8 is not compatible with the scan of the computer. Any ideas?

Make sure you install the scanner/printer drivers and the scanner on windows computer software 8. Then try to scan from the computer instead of the scanner to the computer. To scan, you must have the scanner that is connected directly to the computer to win 8 (you can't sweep a scanner on a different computer) or a network scanner connected to your router. Check the compatibility site to check if your scanner is supported.

  • Envy 17 t n100: help adding 2nd drive 256 GB SATA SSD (TLC) m2

    Hi all

I'm a noob advanced and need some advice and assistance, I just bought an n-100 Envy 17 t. Lack of resources, I don't have the 2nd drive 256Go M.2 SATA SSD (TLC) or pull the memory up to 16 GB max. Memory should be 1 stick of 8 Go DDR3L-1600 to max the16GB?

    Here are my specs.

Put simply, assuming you want to migrate to Windows from the HARD drive of 1 TB to a 256 GB SSD, there is no simple way to do it.

The best way to do it, as I've done several times, is to use a third party called Macrium Reflect application.  It's free and will lets you clone (1) a drive - make an exact copy of a disc on another and (2) image/restore disks - a copy of a disc and then copy on a second disc.

If you can climb both drives at the same time, then (1) is the way to go.  Otherwise, to do (2), you must clone the drive to an external drive, plug the new external drive and then 'restore' from the hard drive to the new drive.

When the first doping, select the option "Backup--> Image disks selected" to clone the current drive to the new drive.

When you do the second, select "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key

The PROBLEM you have is that a partition of 1 TB is wrong simply to fit on a disk of 250 GB - if you have work to do.  You should run Disk Manager to narrow down the OS partition to be used in total less than 250 GB of disk space.

You can run the Windows disk management by following the steps below:

    (1) Control Panel to type in the search box

    2) click on Control Panel

    3) click on Administrative Tools

    4) click on disk management

Once there, you will see the list of partitions.  Select the one which contains the OS (or great) and see how you can reduce it.  On the 1 TB drive, you will have to drop below 200 GB - to be sure.

The PC will then probably need to reboot to make the changes.

Once you have restarted in Win10, install Macrium Reflect - and follow the instructions I left above.

Once the migration is completed, stop your PC, replace the SSD HARD drive and reboot.

If all goes well, you should start in Win10 without any problem.

    Good luck

  • HP Envy 14 Sleekbook 14-k106la: do not start after installing mSATA disc

    Hello

I bought a Crucial mSATA disc to install in my laptop Envy, initially to upgrad SSD real of this laptop, in my Ultrabook feel like I did and was very helpful, I just changed the original SSD and put the new, so I have a + 500 GB SSD and the standard + 500 GB disk.

After removing the cover plastic that laptop I couldn't find the SSD drive, I could only find an empty slot with the same configuration of pin code for my new drive mSATA, same size, etc.. So, I thought that the small SSD of this laptop is not removable, but I would directly install the new SSD and I did, I just put the plastic cover in the slot, and tried again to start.

Now, laptop does not turn on, when I push feed is directed the button lights (also wifi key, orange) and a few seconds later (approx. 3 sec) they turn again. The screen is blank, I get no message or any sound signal.

To resolve this problem, I tried several times:

-Remove the mSATA this location and try again without the mSATA installed, as the original configuration, and anyway, it did not work.

-Remove the battery, memory and standard HD, button pushed for 15, 20 and 60 seconds (without adapter), and then I plugged everything again and anyway it did not work.

-J' I pushed the power button / stop for 5, 15, 20 and 60 seconds without the adapter, then push again with the adapter, it didn't work.

-J' I Pushed power button 5, 15, 20 and 60 seconds without the adapter, then push the adapter again with, haven't worked.

I double checked that the standard hard drive (H) and other cables are the plastic cover, correctly connected that it is correctly positioned, etc. etc. and anyway I can't do possible starting from laptop, I only make possible the power LED button and WiFi key lights up (orange) for a few seconds and again it turns off no error message or beeps are received.

Thanks in advance for your help.

In fact, you might have more luck than you think if you live in a Mexican town a decent size. But you can easily find someone to do in San Antonio. The problem is your motherboard includes the processor and has enough high-quality video, so it's not going to be cheap. You're not under warranty are you? Thought I would ask. It is the part:

For use only with the numbers 14-k100-14-k199 model equipped with the Intel i5-4200U and operating system Windows 8 Standard 744758-501

It is the best laptop on eBay parts selling. I buy from them regularly. Can't say I've never had anything bad but never had a problem not solved with them.

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/HP-envy-TouchSmart-Ultrabook-14T-Intel-integrated-1-6GHz-laptop-motherboard-/291618917878?hash=item43e5d78df6:i:291618917878

If you are looking at $289 for the Board of Directors and a technician will charge you $150 for labor. The replacement of the motherboard is actually not as bad as some models as you can remove the cover and put the right to work.

I would like to know if there are other assistance I can provide.

  • HP Envy 15-ae104no: install the HARD drive

    Hello.

I have a question about the HP Envy 15 - ae104no which is equipped with a 256 Gb SSD m2.

Before burning I would want to know if it is possible to install a sata 1 TB of disk as a 2nd hard drive in this PC.

    Thanks in advance.

    What about Peter

    @Viper9

I'm not sure at 100% but with other models of HP, I saw that they did not come with the extra cable or caddy.

Hard disk hardware kit (not shown, includes support for HDD and screws)

The hard drive connector cable is available by using the spare part number 812697-001.

  • HP Envy 15 J 048 tx: mSATA SSD for HP Envy 15 J 048 tx

    Hello!

I have a HP Envy 15 J048-tx. I want to add an mSATA SSD on my PC and be able to boot from it all by using the HARD drive as internal storage device only. The goal is to make the system run faster (overall and games).

I don't want to change the HARD drive as more large SSD storage capacity are quite expensive and adding an mSATA as disk startup seems to be a cheaper alternative. Current storage capacity of the PC is 1 TB and a 1 TB SSD will fix me by about 34 000 INR (which is a lot), while adding a 250 GB mSATA is about 7-8 000 INR and 500 GB is 12-13 000 INR. Already, I have a lot of external hard drives and do not want to reduce the storage capacity of integrated system, because that would be to buy more external hard drives.

The PC came with Windows 8. Other details are

    1. Motherboard: Intel HM87 (revision of Southbridge - C2), 1963 HP (U3E1)
    2. BIOS: F.65
    3. Intel Core i7 4700MQ
    4. Storage: SATA-II 3.0 Gb/s
    5. RAM: 16 GB DDR3

The product manual indicates this (pg 5 or pdf pg 13): Support for SSD drive 24-GB mSATA (not available on computer models with memory system 16834 - or 12288 MB)

Contact HP support on twitter and got this response from there : supports 24GO mSATA (not available on models with 16834-MB system memory or 12288 MB) this should work, but the HP recovery media may not work to install, it may fail, the portion of due to the small size of disk partitioning.

There seems to be an empty slot for the mSATA, but I can't remove the lid more as I don't have the tools for the same. (pictures attached)

This post on the HP Support says that - the mSATA cannot be used for the operating system and that it is for the acceleration of a regular mechanical hard drive.

Then there was this post for HP envy 15-j003tx touchsmart which mentions that it is possible to do it with a link on Laptopmag article for the same thing that got me a little confused.

I also checked with my digital discount and the PC is not listed in the list of compatible devices. However, after going through the comments, I found there were people with any queries similar to me (but for different computers HP) and found this disc , which seems to be compatible. I thought I'd go with 128 GB one but don't know not then sought more. Then I scanned the PC using crucial.com and found these discs to be compatible too (250 GB & 500 GB).

    My questions:

    1. My PC is compatible with most mSATA SSD storage size?
    2. If so, that we go? 500 GB we have any extra advantage or a 256 GB disc will solve the purpose?
    3. The steps mentioned in the article of laptopmag need any changes?

Images of the system after the opening of the back cover (1 & 2):

You can add something big, but for 24 concerts for acceleration purposes are sufficient. If you can't find a 24 concert, you can use a 32. Any more than that would be wasted for pure acceleration. The accelerator contains the contents of the memory for a quick recovery from his sleep and also holds start-up files and then the .exe files for the programs that you frequently open like saying the browser or email.

You can use a larger disk, repeat a 64 or 128 and let the Intel Rapid Storage create say a 30 GB partition for acceleration. The partition of the accelerator is not ntfs, or anything else Windows can be used as a storage device. You can then use the rest of the disc as a storage called disk formatted FAT32 or ntfs. If you do something like Photoshop or video editing it would give you a place to put work files that could be accessed and processed very quickly. But you can not use this partition as a startup or a Windows partition and it would take much diligence to prevent fill.

If you decide to take the post of reader of acceleration from the establishment requires a configuration that is not totally intuitive.

Someone told me about this quote - "does not it was easier - works on getting smart! I need your help to get smart; (o))

    Hello

I understand that it was ok with your laptop before installing Windows 7. It is so related to hardware problem software. Can you tell if it was original iso of windows 7 or the Assembly. Have you installed all the drivers for the Toshiba driver page and the maintenance of the right installation order? What burning software do use?

Have you done this procedure mentioned in this forum:

Go to Device Manager and remove the drive from the list of devices CD/DVD.
Then access the registry and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Reboot the laptop and wait for the CD/DVD drive would appear once again

  • want 4 beats audio control pannel

    Hi all.

    I have a HP Envy 4-1010ea.

I replaced the 32 GB MSATA with a 120 GB MSATA and did a fresh install of Windows 7 Home Premium x 64

Done all updates and installed all the best drivers.

Now here's the question and read in forums for 2 days to fix this.

SOUND works, BUT... My software Dr. Dre Beats isn't the case to be seen? I did not partition recovery or DVD/USB, as I stupidly deleted it, I want to be able to use the software. I reinstalled the driver multipul times restarts, chipset, bios etc etc but now I'm stuck. the FN keys for the volume of work and the driver is installed and the music plays but no software beats.

    Help, please!

Hi, I found the problem, I didn't keep reinstalling windows and the driver, still no joy, it turns out I just had to go in audio control panel and click on beats, feel a little stupid after days of fighting... This must be on all the forum answers I know that many people with envys prefer it fresh installs.

  • Maximum size LOG_BUFFER

    Hi guys,.

I have a question about the LOG_BUFFER initialization parameter. What is the maximum size allowed for this value? I got some online forums that high values does not benefit a lot, but there is no harm in spending. What I have is a very huge table updated - that I am segmentation using parallelism DIY (from Tom Kyte) and execution of 5-6 pieces at a time. During the execution, most expect the reported event is on "log buffer space" event. If I understand correctly, it is either because of the disks slow log or a bad tuning log_buffer. Before entering disk speeds, I would get clarity on LOG_BUFFER.

Now, I tried to increase the value, but no matter what value I give in the init.ora file, does not 'see the log_buffer parameter' above 268427264 (I think it's almost 256 MB). I tried to give 2GB in the init.ora file, but it does not exceed 256 MB. How did this upper limit calculated by Oracle? And how can I increase it?

    Could you please help?

    Oracle version: 11.2.0.3.0

    OPERATING SYSTEM: IBM AIX 7.1

Number of cores: 4; Number of VCPU: 4; So that gives 16 processors

    RAM: 40 GB
