HP Envy Phoenix 800-060 BIOS update

HP came out with an update of the bios for my PC, when I ran the update looks like it took, but it seems that it is still the old bios version number.  The list I see is dated 80.07 from 05/06/13.  According to me, it should have updated the bios to version 80.20.  Any ideas?  Thank you.

Kevin

    Greetings,

I hope that you back up the important things on several external media and in the cloud until it happened.

The failure of food fry the HDD/SSD or any other component?

You can contact HP to service here.

HP will replace the motherboard and the MB of tattoo. This would allow you to use HP recovery media to bring the system to a factory State. You wouldn't need a new Windows product key.

Do you make or buy HP recovery discs before this catastrophic event? It appears your PC comes with Win 8.0. Recovery media, you can order here.

HP will reinstall Win 8.0 if you replace the defective components and tie the mother of replacement HP factory for the chassis number of the system (tattoo).

If you replace the motherboard on your own, you can buy a new Windows product key.

  • Add memory to HP ENVY Phoenix 800 - 070st - free space for the locations of memory behind the radiator.

    Hello

I ordered a HP ENVY Phoenix 800 - 070st with 16 GB of memory and is to be delivered Friday. My question is how much clearance is here to the sticks of memory in the slots behind the radiator and the radiator has to be removed for adding memory to these two locations. Will it take low memory footprint, or is there room for mem sticks with heat sinks. It won't be here until next week, if just trying to plan ahead.

    Thank you

    Gateb, welcome to the forum.

I can't find any warnings about any of your concerns in the specs of HP.  However, having said that, I suggest wait you receive the computer to make purchases.  HP isn't necessarily embracing third-party updates.  Memory performance with heat sinks can be very important, as you know, or you have asked the question.  Better safe than sorry.  Just my $. 02.

Moreover, it is a great computer.

  • Want to Phoenix 800-060: ID Type MB MSI

I am trying to determine the compatibility of the new GPU for my 800-060 HP but can't seem to find the MSI MB which is in this system, so I can make that determination. I ran CPU - z and it said that the manufacturer is HP but we all know that HP does not MB; in this system they are using MSI. MB MSI is listed as MS-7826 (Kaili) but I can't find the part # on the MSI site. I'm also using a website 'pcpartpicker', which ensures compatibility with MB & GPU - a very good site if you have all the information available.

I'm so looking to upgrade my GPU GTX645 and hope someone can tell me what are the options I would have giving me some missing information I need.

CTechInfo! indicates the specific MSI/Microstar was an OEM version by HP features.

The EVGA NVIDIA GTX 750ti should work without modification of the power supply.  Save you money and keep the HP 600 watt PSU.

    Hello

In this PC is a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 with integrated graphics Intel HD Graphics 4600 (GT2).

I wonder if it is possible to extend this PC with exactly the same graphics card with this integrated graphics card.

It is not possible.  Intel does not PCI express video cards.

Integrated graphics is a HD graphic chip, not a card, which is built into the chipset of the motherboard.

  • Can I install a 3rd hard drive (SSD) on my desire to Phoenix 800?

Hi, I just bought a Phoenix 800-089 wanted and I was wondering if I could use for an another SSD expansion Bay?

There are already an SSD installed and do not know if the expansion Bay would allow another?

If so, do I need to purchase a support of editing or something else so he can adapt?

    Thanks for your help.

The HP ENVY Phoenix 800-089 desktop has space for three 3.5 hard drives "and two optical drives 5.25". Using the adapter rails, you can install a 2.5 SSD "in the third-party hard disk or in the second Bay oprtical Bay. A set of 2.5 "to 3.5" adapter may have been provided with your new SSD. If this isn't the case, any computer and/or electronic store will be available adapters.

    @troubleshoot411, welcome to the forum.

I agree with using Revo.  This is my go to app for malware.  When you used Revo, you use the advanced option?  This will not only remove the program from the HARD disk, but it removes remnants of the BIOS.  If this is not the case, this could be the problem.  I suggest to try the advanced option to remove HPSA and shut down the computer.  Then, start and reinstall HPSA here.

  • HP ENVY 700-030qe: BIOS updates for my HP desktop computer

I have a desktop HP ENVY 700-030qe with Windows 8. While looking through the updates of software available for my system, I have seen two listed in the BIOS:

    (1) HP Compaq consumer Desktop PC BIOS for ROM family SSID 2AF3 dated October 2014.

    (2) HP Desktop BIOS update system for PC HP ENVY 700/800/810 with 2AF3 family ROM dated May 2014.

    1. How will I know what family of ROM BIOS I have? I have pictures of all the screens of BIOS that I could get and nothing mentioned family BIOS ROM. I still have the BIOS original version KAI 80.07.

    2. the two updates apply to my computer? The wording is confusing. It seems that only the second apply to my system unless one applies to a more general category of the office. If both apply, as the first is the most recent, which would be the one to use?

    3. There is an issued for the BIOS in June security update that I ran across here. Which does not appear in the update list. Why would that not replace the other? Can I assume that the October update would include this security update?

    Thank you

After installation of the firmware update marked Softpaq number: SP75152, F.35Ap1 Version now four of our laptops (13 "and 14" ENVY ENVY) have a HDMI port not working. The external screens are 'no signal '.

We spent a lot of time with the help of HP (via Hong Kong, we found ourselves in India). Remote control sessions. All a waste of time. The update of the BIOS is faulty, no system restore cannot solve this problem.

Same day (June 13, 2016) one of our laptops automatically installed this update of the BIOS with the HP Support Assistant and killed the HDMI port.

    C. how the hell did this update of the BIOS pass test? -> 4 / 4 updated computers laptops have a broken HDMI port. We have 7 other laptop on the left who are fortunately not updated.

    Hi there @BugFinderand @DebVancouver.

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!  It's a good place to find the help you need, other users, HP experts and other support staff. From what I understand, bothl of you experience the same problem with HDMI after a BIOS update.  I'm happy to help you with this.

I would, if possible, that each of you try the laptops HP - restore the BIOS to a restoration to the having previously worked BIOS.  The main purpose is to return you to a working state. If this method works for you, obviously do not install BIOS update again.

Edit: Bugfinder reported that restoration, the method of BIOS didn't work for him, but he had to do several times (4 times in at least one case). I guess you could say that it is true to its name, and I thank very you much for the comments.

Please let me know if it works for you and if not let me know if there is an error message any. If this does not solve your immediate problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.
