HP ENVY Sleekbook 6-1006sa: cannot start computer laptop
My hard drive seems to be corrupted, and now my laptop does not start.
Of course, the normal solution is to use the HP recovery disk, but my laptop can't even attempt to boot from my DVD drive (external). Market, I get a message in the lower left corner, saying "Press ESC for Boot Menu". At this point, if I press the ESC key all that get's the message replaced by 'ESC. '... Pause for Startup' - and no other update screen - never (well, at least 10 minutes). If, while in the stadium "Press ESC for Boot Menu", I press F2, the message is replaced by "F2"... Check startup' but then no progress is made.
So now I'm at a loss to know what to do next. Please can someone help?
Regards Tony.
I solved the problem by:
1. visit this page: http://hp.com/go/techcenter/pcdiags and using the last link to download ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp75001-75500/sp75230.exe which puts the s/w of recovery BIOS on a USB
2 turn on/off my laptop while now the key Windows + B
3 wait a long time for my PC boot from the English channel and set its BIOS
Once this is done, everything was OK again.
Tont regards

Hello
I have an Acer Espire E40 and I recently installed a kind of "PC Optimizer", he worked in the first, removal of unnecessary files. However, I then noticed deletion of system files. I killed the process and then restarted my laptop. When I turn it on, the Acer logo appears with "start auto repair. He proceeds to diagnose my PC and I am presented with the fact that windows may not start and I need to restore the operating system. So I click on restore but nothing happens, the Acer logo appears again, but nothing happens, its been like this for 10 minutes. Any help would be appreciated.Thank you
Ethan. If you press Alt + F10 at startup you're able to enter Acer erecovery?
If so, you probably have a restore or refresh options, try this.

HP ENVY m6 1206 TX: cannot start Windows (8.1)
The other day I wanted to turn my computer off and let it, because I was in a bad mood and wanted to get awy and do something else. But when I went to click on update and stop, I clicked on update and restart. I more wanted to leave everything to rest because he was for a long time on the computer. But I waited for the update that stopped on 27% for a long time, after going quickly through the others. It probably would have been fine, but I was imptient and took the incredibly stupid decision to force the computer to turn off because I was tired. The next time that I turned it, Windows wouldn't start.
When I try to start the computer, it says:
Auto repair
Your PC did not start successfully
So, I can either tap on restart to restart my PC that it can sometimes solve (this isn't for me). Or go to advaced options.
In options advanced > troubleshooting, I can update my pc without losing the files but that fails.
Then options are more advanced. I can do a system restore, but there is none. Same thing with system image recovery. Starup repair fails. Command PROMT... I don't know what to do. Even with the settings of the UEFI firmware. There is start parameters also right up. I don't know what to do with them.
In a quick test of the system, everything going except Hard shore short check the DST, who said the warning. No info was given, which doesn't really help.
I can do with these options that could help? Or should I send repair? Or, if the reset in advanced options option is different to the first, what should I do? I doubt that it is the same because he says that I will lose all my files, whereas it would appear to the other literally just restart the computer. Thanks for any help.
Hello;
Let me welcome you on the HP forums!
I read your post on your PC is no longer to leave and wanted to help.
The description of the problems you are experiencing generally indicate one or two of the following ways:(1) defective hard drive
(2) damaged/missing bootloader filesAlready, you did the second and said that has not fixed the problems.
And you have already received errors on the first. To confirm the status of hard disk, please follow the instructions in this link to test your hard drive: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00439024
If that confirms that your drive has failed, then you will need to replace it. Please report back if this is the case.If the drive has failed, you will need replace it and order the HP recovery media to restore your PC to a working state.
As for recovery, onlu Refresh keeps the files; the other delete files - so before you make them, you must save all the files and folders you want to keep. If you cannot start the PC enough to do this, you would need to remove the drive from the PC, buy a USB-to-Hard-Driver adapter, connect the drive to another PC and copy files and folders there.
Good luck

If that suits him fine. If this is not the case, use system restore to go back to an earlier date at the beginning of the problem. To run system restore, click Start-> programs-> Accessories-> System Tools-> system restore. Click on the box that says show more restore points.
-
You can check the corrupted system files. Open an administrator command prompt and run SFC if the above does not help. Click START, and then type CMD in the search box, right-click on CMD. EXE and click run as administrator. Then, from the command prompt type sfc/scannow.
-
Finally if all else fails, you can look at the rather cryptic system event log. To make, click Start-> Control Panel-> administration-> event viewer tools. Once in Event Viewer system log-click and scroll entries looking for these "error" with indicator see if you can find guidance on where the problem may be.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

I don't know what the resolution would be better, but is the 1600 x 900, I think that before the problems started.

Find out if a check mark is set to boot in Safe Mode.
Start button > in the search box, type msconfig > press the Enter key > uac prompt > click on Startup > make sure that no checkmark found nowhere > click OK when finished.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

Hello
Here is the complete troubleshooting tool. Make sure to run the system restart, then SFC/scannow tool
and chkdsk /f /r (CheckDisk) from the command to a startup disk. You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel
-Double click - Driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - device Manager - map - graph
then right click on the device and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.Another method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure)
is CTRL + ALT + DEL and the processes tab find EXPLORER.exe and END PROCESS on it.
then on the tab Applications - lower right - new task - the type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is
accessible by tapping F8 as you start several times.First check this thread in case it is simple and if not to come back to this thread.
Black screen problems are extremely difficult to repair and all hotfix is usually a hit or miss

adds to the difficulty. Often using a restore point or Startup Repair will have no effect.

Hi, I currently have a serious problem with my Pavilion g4 laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
Last night after I finish using my laptop, I closed the lid as I normally do and we both fell asleep.
But this morning when I opened it again, instead of start normally, I got this error: Oxc00000e9 and I was unable to start Windows. I had not any attached USB devices so I'm afraid it might be a problem with the hard drive.
I tried in Safe Mode, but after loading of the files it has stopped working and I was given a Startup Repair option.
After that the laptop has been blocked for a few minutes in a gray with slider Windows screen until the repair window appears. He work and asked me to reboot to see if it worked or not.
He took a little everything restart, the Windows loading icon came but then instead of booting the system I was sent again to a screen that looks like the Startup Repair, with the cursor above but nothing else.
He was blocked for half an hour on this screen, then this window will appear:
Windows Script Host
Script: X:/Rita-tool/Start.vbs
Line: 93
Tank: 14
Error: The system cannot find the specified file.
Code: 80070002
Source: (null)Then I got another window:
HP restore
Create file FailA click on OK
Got another window:
HP Recovery Manager
Contact HP customer care
Recovery not taken in charge to the title of the current configuration, please turn on the option for the Intel Smart Response Technology, and try again. After that the laptop turns itself off.
I'm out of warranty of two months, but would like to know if there is anything I can try before you take it to a technician.
Help, please!
Thank you

I was able to solve the problem of boot from the Windows CD repair and run repair there system.
