HP Envy4500: print 5.5x8.0

I want to add a new paper size in the print paper for this printer list.  I read on one of the answers where you could click the HP folder and add it. I don't know where the folder is only that they are talking about

Hi @daddysmurf

It seems that the size more close support is paper A5 148 x 210 mm (5.83 x 8.27).  - Source

You can try the following steps, but because 5.5x8 is not a supported paper size, it may not work;

To create a custom in Windows XP or in Windows Server 2003 page format:

1 open the "Printers and faxes" folder

2. under the 'File' menu, select 'server properties '.

3. Select the "Forms" tab

4. check the 'Create a new form' and fill in the fields "Description of the form" and "paper size".  It is best to leave the fields 'Printer area margins' as 0.

5. Select 'Save form' and close the window.  Your form should now be available

I hope this helps.

The deleted files on laptop for free space, must have deleted something important, like the printer does not work well.

Tried to uninstall the software and then remove device.   Inserted the CD, then reinstalled.  I can print with USB cable.

Print and scan doctor 4.9 ceases to work, so have difficulties to find what the problem is.   Any suggestions?

Thank you. This was my first post to a forum and I am glad for a quick response.

I ended up uninstalling programs printer, restart, then deleted the printer device, restart, then goes on HP site and download software and implementation.

Always impossible to use printing and scanning doctor. Same message as it closes. Hope that I won't need it. Don't know what the problem is with the diagnosis. Will retain the option of restoration in mind.

I can print with USB and wireless, so I guess I'm ok now.

Found a solution that works in Windows 7.

    1. Go to the control panel

    3. Select the icon for the printer HP OfficeJet 8600.  A set of actions is displayed at the top of the screen

The size of the named paper should appear in the dropdown for the paper when this printer is selected.  I tried Microsoft Publisher 2007 and it worked.  Same duplex print worked.

  • HP Envy4500

    Hello

I just installed a HP Envy4500 printer, and that works perfectly. Today, the experiences have begun and we tried to print from our iPhone and iPad. The connection was no problem and it printed instantly, but was cheating the page orientation.

How do I change the orientation (and probably the color) of the iPhone please? Not a lot of sense if you must go to the printer to change these settings on the screen?

    Thank you.

    See you soon!

    Hello

For more flexibility in terms of selection/board of media, orientation, scale etc, please download the HP e-Print app on the app store and use it to print wireless.

The Airprint service on apple devices limited printing options.

  • Do the "keys" on each side of the Envy4500 lights when the printer is turned on?

I just bought two new Envy4500s and at the same time on them, the "key (i.e. up/down, 'ok', etc.) on each side of the display screen does not light up when the printer is turned on."  HP rep said they should, but on any machine they light up. Thus, all "keys" are essentially impossible to see. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    Hello @paularose,

Thanks for posting in the Forum from HP Support.

I see that you are curious about the screen of the HP ENVY 4500 e-all-in-one printer.  I would like to help.

The arrow keys do not light up when the printer is on, but as you can see when you look at your own models, they are clearly identified.

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards

  • Envy4500: Computer says printer is offline and will not print, but it's online

I jumped through all the hoops of tech and there seems to be no perfect solution to this problem. However, can I change my settings wireless direct on with security on without security on Off, and at any time, I am doing this, work in Quebec will begin. But I have to do it almost everytime I have print something. I need to scan from my remote IO. Let me know if HP has a better solution. Obviously, the computer is not properly talk to the printer. I started having this problem after Windows 10, but yet curiously, so I don't think it's a matter of Windows.

    Hello

Thank you for using the HP Forums.

    You can try this:

    Creating a TCP IP port

    1. print a Configuration Page to get the printer IPv4 address (you can also tap on the icon wireless on the front panel of your printer to obtain the IP address)
    2. on your PC, go to the Panel control, devices and printers, right-click the printer and on the left, click printer properties, select the Ports tab.
    3. click Add Port, select the Port TCP/IP Standard, then New Port and follow the instructions in the wizard.
    4. Enter the IP address of the printer.

Note that you can ALWAYS go back to the original port the HP software installed by selecting the HP port on the Ports tab (in the properties of the printer)

    Hope that helps!

  • D110 printer custom page size

I have a PC of HPE-400y under Windows and Office 2010.  "I have a document in Word that has a size of custom page 5.5" x8.5 ".  It will not be printed on a paper 5.5x8.5.  In Word when I select Preview before printing, the D110 shows up the print, the page size as 8.5x11.  "If I click on the page and go to"more formats of paper and dΘfinir the page size to 5.5x8.5, the box shows custom page size 5.5"x 8.5" with one "! "in the box.  When I click on print, it prints it centered in the middle of a page of 8.5x11.0.

So I have shows the properties of the D110, and saw that the driver was list as Micorsoft.  So I download the driver full features on the HP site.  It made no difference.

If I go in Word and open the document and select the printer preview and select Microsoft XPS Document Writer printer, the size of the page shows that education 5.5 x 8.5.  If I then select the D110, it shows the size of the page as letter 8.5 "x 11".

So, how can I print 5.5 x 8.5 page size in the D110

HP Chat has solved my problem.  We open the print properties, then choose the features tab.  You click size, and then in the drop-down list, click Custom...    It then opens a window of the custom page size.   In the name field, enter the name you want the custom size to call.  Change the width and length you want, and then click on SAVE and then on OK.

I then went in Word and the name that I created in the custom page was there.  And it prints correctly.

  • HP Envy 4500 will not print computer

    Hello

My HP Envy 4500 works perfectly for some time now.  Unfortunately, it stopped printing from my Dell laptop, running Windows7. It scans to the laptop very well.  It copies fine, and it prints from my iPhone fine.

I've reviewed a ton of messages and tried many things:

    * Uninstall/reinstall wireless (at least 8 times) - via the website https://123.hpconnected.com/activate/woobe/ENVY4500

    * Uninstall/reinstall via USB

    * ran doctor utility printing/scanning (or whatever it's called) and says it all looks very good

sending a test with a HP tool page is fine, however, the internal test via the tool HP Print page fails

I'm losing my mind and would be really grateful for the help.

    Thank you!

    Hey @JNZM,

Thanks for getting back to me on this subject. Normally, I get a notification email indicating that you had replied to a post that we are working on. In this case, I never had an email, so I just found this post unanswered today. Normally I answer as soon as I come into the office. I have some more tricks up my sleeve that we can try to solve the printing problem you feel. Can I please have you follow the steps below to load another driver on your machine and test print.

    1. Click on the Start menu

    6. When the new driver window just press 'Next' until you see a list of manufacturers on the left and a list of Printers on the right.
    7. Select HP as the manufacturer on the left
    8. DeskJet 6980 select the printer on the right. If Deskjet 6980 does appear to only select "Windows Update" at the bottom left and once the update is completed, you will be able to select Deskjet 6980.
    9. After selecting Deskjet 6980 hit Next to complete the wizard driver new
    10. Under the printer properties window, select "Apply", but don't hit not OK
    11. Select the general tab
    12. Rename your HP Envy 4500 printer
    13. Click OK
    14. Finally, right click on your HP Envy 4500 one more time and click on Printing Preferences
    15. Left click on the paper/quality tab
    16. Left click on the drop down menu 'Normal' for quality printing at the bottom right and change its normal fast

Now that the other driver has been installed, test printing from your Windows 7 computer again.

  • Envy4500: HP Envy4500

    I recently glazed an Envy4500.

I chose to connect via USB, and no wireless. Do I have to change any settings for this reason? The printer seems to work fine.

With my printer was a small stick on the label with a bar dode and a number. What is this for?

How can I register my new printer?

    That's all.

    Thank you

    Bob Burns

    Hey @chopperbobby,

Welcome to the Forum from HP Support.  I hope you enjoy your experience here.

I see that you have general questions about your HP ENVY 4500 e-all-in-one printer.  I would like to help.

If a usb installation works best for you, no sweat - it won't limit your options unless you plan to use the features of your ePrint printer.  If you are interested to learn more about ePrint click here.

In addition, if you ever want to convert your printer wireless, touch the printer icon. Run the Wireless Setup Wizard, select the name of your network (SSID) and enter the password wireless using the arrow keys.  Once you're connected, make a note of the IP address.  Then, double-click the icon of 4500 WANT on your PC desktop and click 'Connect new printer.' If the software does not automatically recognize the printer on the network, you can manually enter the IP address to connect.

I guess that the bar code sticker you see me would be useful if you need to send your printer in for maintenance. I got either hold that it adheres to the back of your printer or there's space.

Finally, you can click here to save your printer.  If you have any questions let me know I am always happy to help you.  If I helped you to solve the problem, feel free to say "You rock!" by clicking the "Thumbs Up" icon below and by clicking to accept this solution.

Thanks for posting in the Forum from HP Support.  Have a great day!

  • ENVY4500: UP/DOWN, ISSUE OF HOME LIGHTING, BACK, ETC.

I just got TWO printers Envy4500 where the up/down, home, back, question mark, keys etc. DO NOT LIGHT. I got HP pull together and may not understand what is happening. Also I got contradictory answers as to if / when these keys should BE lit.

Seems to me that if you do not see the keys when they are not lit, they should be on permanently.

Can anyone confirm that these keys should be lit PERMANENTLY?

    THANKS IN ADVANCE!

    Hi @paularose,

I can answer you on the lighting of the screen on the 4500 desire.

You can see in these YouTube videos, that the only thing that comes on is the display screen itself. The buttons on the outside framing do not light.

Please let me know if these steps solved your problem, or if there is anything else I can do to help.

I look forward to hear from you!

    Thank you

  • What new photoquality garlic in those support paper size in the printer driver?

I have a new HP Photosmart AIO 7510.  Much to my surprise the printer driver does not support create 6.5X10 inches, 5.5X8.5 inches for card stock for example custom paper sizes.  I used to have this feature in my old HP Photosmart 5150C all-in-one.  My PC is Windows 7 Edition home premium, SP1 operating system.

Is anyone know 1. What new models - printer or in a single - support a photo quality printing and custom paper sizes?  Am open to return my current template and replace it with a new model of HP.  Or with Canon, Epson. anything that works to regain this ability.

or 2.  is there another driver that is compatible with the 7510 which will create custom paper sizes and quality photo printing.

You can use customized with the 7510 paper sizes, but you must use another driver to do it. Follow the steps in the post below the link for your operating system. With the help of the other driver should get the custom print size to work. Hope that helps.

  • Why print multiple pages per sheet reduce the image?

Two pages of 5.5x8.5 must print 2-up on 8.5 x 11 WITHOUT reducing the size of the image. Taxation of basic page! (I'm talking about Acrobat DC, specifically.)

    The answer is very simple.

Acrobat does not currently a tool of imposition of real page. How Acrobat reduced the size of the pages has to do with areas conscious as defined by the printer driver and therefore, even if you try to make a booklet of 5.5x8 pages on paper 8.5 x 11, Acrobat reduced the size of the pages to accommodate the unprintable margins.

There are third party for Acrobat plugins that perform this and much more sophisticated tax functions.
