HP Mini-250 2000: Windows 7 startup problem

My wife has this laptop, purchased in 2011 (with Windows 7 Starter installed), so much more under warranty. Something is which means that it was not possible even to enter Windows at all. We therefore ask the services of a professional. It solved our problem, but at a price! Although told he would need to reinstall the version of W7 Starter, because anything more sophisticated gave rise to an extremely slow operation, he chose to install Home Premium, with predictable results. Calls for this society have remained, despite requests to the ring, so it seems I'll have to do the work myself, because I really should have done in the first place, but domestic management refused permission.

I understand that W7 Starter is now Microsoft unobtailable, I take my chances with a web dowlnoad from another source, but I've still will of course need to know the product key, would have HP beable to help with this?

Hello

The COA label with the product key is likely to be under the guise of service - see Page 48 of your Maintenance & Service Guide.

Kind regards

    Hi all

I use an old laptop Dell Studio with Vista and I have problems trying to start. My suspicion is a questionable download has screwed the hard drive or I'm missing some drivers.

What is happening, it is start the computer to the windows startup page and that's all. This shows only the loading bar going around constantly. When I try to start safe mode, it arrives at crcdisk.sys file and stops. The diagnostic test gives a pass for everything except the hard disk, to whom he gives the error code 2000-0146.

Anyone has any suggestions on what to try next? If I can find the CD I'll try a system reset but was hoping to save the files that I have on my hard drive. Or reinstall the drivers would be worth?

    Thanks in advance :)

    Hello

A download will not destroy the hard drive, while the age will be.

That the error code 2000-0146. When you use the Dell diagnostics indicates a hard failure/failed.

  • 2000-2106TU HP: startup problem

    Hello

When I turn on my laptop, my laptop takes longer than usual to enter the word of welcome. The symbol for windows is here for a long time that flashes for three or four times and then sinks into the welcome note. What is the solution for this?

    Spoiler (Highlight to read)

    Dear customer,

Welcome and thanks for posting your question on the Forum from HP Support.

According to the displayed number, I understand that your unit takes a long time to reach the office.

I'll be more than happy to help you in this case.

Many programs will begin works invisibly in the background when you turn on your computer, slow system startup time and that can cause crashes and software conflicts.

So what led to the slow start-up, however you can easily disable these programs you don't need to start immediately:

    STEP 1:

(a). Click Start, type "msconfig" in the search bar and press ENTER. In the System Configuration window, click the Startup tab.

    (b) in the list of programs that appears, uncheck the box next to those that you don't need to run automatically at startup.

    (c) only uncheck programs that you use regularly or to know that you don't need.

As a general rule, it is best to not touch anything related to your brand of computer, HP, Intel, AMD and Microsoft.

    STEP 2:

You can also download this software on your device.

I don't know if it has nothing to do with it but ive recently partioned the other half of my hard drive that the processor recognizes (only let me use 150gigs on 350). also this issue initially started after I had to completely shut down my computer because it froze during a flash image, I was running gamebooster including some of the process essentials that run and monopolize the ram stops. but its never happened before. don't think it's important because I have completely reformatted my computer. and also im on the computer it works perfectly fine in safe mode

  • Satellite A660 - Windows 7 startup problem

Hi, I have I think the biggest problem I have ever had. I have the Toshiba Satellite A660. I have Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit (just to know.) Computer laptop freezed so I pressed to shutdown (stop) to close.

Then I tried to start it but I saw only "starting Windows" for more than an hour... When I tried to use the repair disk I saw the Green loading bar only (such as loading windows XP) but nothing happened again. So I tried to use the installation disc, but I get a "windows start" and nothing happened, even with a USB tip.

    Could someone help me?
    Thanks for all the posts.

I understand that your computer was working and running W7 64 bit.
You can or you looked in the BIOS? I don't know what you can view/change but is the HDD displayed and if memory is reported?
If you use the drive of W7 or reinstall to start the computer drive can you get to the screen install Windows and select "repair your computer". If you do not see this screen, you will need to make sure that the DVD or USB is the first boot device.

Return to this stage for more ideas or google for something like "windows command prompt repair 7.

I solved the problem using the F11 key. The correct procedure for the relocation of the OP suggests, first try the F11 key. Moreover, the Dell PC Restore appears F8 key. The user should remember the key to the recovery of the PC.

  • Windows 7 startup problems (I should go to Windows 10)

The title says it all.  I had difficulties from Windows 7, and I was wondering if it would solve the problem to him complete the installation of the new Windows 10.  The message I get when now is one where it is said that the recommendation is to check or repair drive C or start normally.  So far I could treat the computer along and start normally, but I fear that time is limited with this tactic.  I tried to allow the computer to do the analysis and automatic repair, but to no avail.

I hope that the installation of Windows 10 will be the solution, but fear it can only complicate the already ongoing issue.

  • laptop 2000: cannot complete startup on HP 2000 Windows 8

I have a HP 2000 Windows 8 (not sure if 32 or 64 bit). Some time ago I met a problem starting, which seems to be similar to that published on 21/08/2014 amount «I have a hp2000-2b19wm...» ». The system starts until it happens to my home screen, then it is totally insensitive. He feels that there are a lot of things running in the backgorund such that the reader is completely tied up. I have a lower right corner of the message that updates are available, which I can believe since it has been a few months since I've updated.

I tried on my own to do but F8 safe mode start-up assistance which was ineffective; just keep doing a regular full boot. I read the solution regarding the start-up of Windows 8 Mode without failure given in the above referenced post. However, the link does not take me to a document, just to the HP support page general.

Use F8 the right way to enter into the Mode without boot failure, or it's not like I have an another question?

  • For Windows vista: Startup Repair couln t repair problem

I am trying to repair a laptop from a friend, but I'm new to this kind of thing and it's a problem starting. I don't think I have a hardware problem because I have the video but I can't load the operating system and I ranstartup repair, but he could not fix the problem. I received this message:

The problem started when my friend has installed updates, unfortunately I do not know what they are, and she said that she did not bring any modification other than recently. If you need more info I can try to help, but I'm kinda at a loss of what to do something without possible srewing up.

What is the startup problem?  Are there any error messages, and if so what is the EXACT text (including all codes)?  Which version of Vista is?

Do you know when this problem started?  Try a system restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem started.  Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/.  Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points.  If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two.  NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates.

If this does not work, try to start in safe mode (repeatedly hit F8 key so that the start and go in safe mode with networking).  Then we will check some of your system files:

Go to start / all programs / accessories / command prompt and right click on command prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

Type sfc/scannow, go and let it run.  It will scan and try to correct some of your system files.  If all goes well he comes complete with no corruption, it could not repair (if it has these post of corruption here or try to analyze it to find the problem or files using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928228.

While in the command prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and enter and let it run.  It will scan and try to solve any corruption or bad sectors on your hard drive and remove especially as a cause.

If it does not, then thanks for posting any repetitive error message in Event Viewer on startup (Start / Control Panel / administrative tools / Event Viewer).  Here's how to use Event Viewer: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic40108.html.

If this does not work, you will need to do a repair/system upgrade using the Windows Vista Installation disc authentic (you own or that you can borrow from someone).  Here is the procedure: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/88236-repair-install-vista.html.  Although this will not affect your data, settings or programs, you should always back up your data before you start just be on the safe side. If other procedures do not work, it is almost certain to work.  You can have a lot of updates to re - install (including all you need to remove service packs).  If the version on system with SP1 or SP2 preinstalled cane and the disc is an earlier version, then you will need to do a slipstream drive as follows: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/151606-vista-sp1-slipstream-installation-dvd.html.

I hope one of these procedures can solve your problem.  If this isn't the case, after return and we will try something else.  Return message anyway so we know how it turns out.

    Good luck!
