HP Notebook: optical drive

I just bought a new Hp laptop touch screen Windows 10 edition.  Where is my dvd player (I guess they call an optical drive now) my dvd does not fit.  The circle that goes on in the middle of a dvd in the optical drive is triangular in shape instead of round.  I am trying to add my printer with a dvd to this laptop so it's embarrassing, and more I can not download any cd this could be a misunderstanding because I don't know much about laptops and other computers.  Any help much appreciated.

You are not sure if you can tell from the photo but my CD and DVD doesn't fit on it in my computer? Thanks for the reply

I can see it. But you need to stick with some force of pop in the spindle if you try and these three fingers in the spindle so you can see them don't retract or compress at the time ' there's something wrong wit the drive PIN. For the test using your fingernail or something small, like a flat head screwdriver and press each of these little fingers in and if they go in which means that it works and if not, you should get the replaced disk as soon as POSSIBLE under warranty.

  • HP Envy Phoenix 850: HP Envy Phoenix 850 - optical drive add/upgrade

    Hello

I'm looking for one of the new HP Envy Phoenix 850 models and ask yourself it is possible to:

    (1) add an additional optical drive? I have a spare Pioneer BDR-209EBK, (W148mm x H 42.3 mm x D180mm)

    (2) or replace the DVD SuperMulti HP standard burner (probably this one, which is THIN; H 12.7 mm x D126.1mm x W128mm)

The marketing material says "busy; external drive bays One available,"but looking at the photos in the 'upgrade and Guide service' I can't identify where the additional drive would be, and how it would be accessible.

    from the front panel.

The new models look slick, but if I'm not able to add/replace the optical drive, it may be a no-go - and I have to stick to the last years´ 810-models - or a competitor.

    Thanks in advance.

Just drag on the engraver of DVD and sock it to its place. You may have to port on the front, but this isn't a huge deal.

  • HP Pavilion 15-p263nl: 2nd HARD drive cart, replace the optical drive for HP Pavilion p263nl 15 Notebook PC & Windows 10

    Hi all!

I intend to add an SSD for my HP Pavilion p263nl-15 Notebook PC. I found some sites that I can remove the optical drive and put a second drive using a caddy adapter in the optical drive Bay. I found that some people on the forum did it successfully, but nothing on my PC model. I want to know if he could work with my product.

In other words, there is my plan:

1 remove the real disk HDD hard bay and replace it with the new SSD.

    2. remove the optical drive and replace it with the adapter caddy containing my old HDD.

    3. do a clean install of Windows 10 on the SSD using a USB key recovery made with my real Windows 10 system (which has been updated from Windows 8.1 July 2016).

I already have a 120 GB OCZ SSD (OCZ Vertex 3).

I have a few questions before buying the adapter:

1 - the two drives (my old HDD and the new SSD) are recognized by the motherboard / BIOS and the operating system (Windows, 10)? Is there a limit to a unique HARD/SSD disk drive on the computer?

2 should. What size the card be? I found offers for 9.5 mm and 12.7 mm that are supposed to be suitable for HP Pavilion in general

3 - these parts work together and with my computer (size, compatibility)? You can expect any problems with this upgrade?

4 - clean install Windows 10 quote, because I intend to install it on a different drive than the one I used to create the key USB recovery flash? I have never done a clean install of Windows before.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

    Hello!

I intend to add an SSD in my two years 15-e073ca HP Pavilion Notebook PC. I found some sites that I can remove the optical drive and put a second drive using a caddy adapter in the optical drive Bay. I found that some people on the forum did it successfully, but nothing on my PC model. I want to know if he could work with my product.

    3. do a clean install of Windows 10 on the SSD, using a recovery USB stick made with my system Windows 10 real (which has been updated from Windows 8.1).

I plan to purchase the following parts:

    1 - a HDD / SSD cart adapter for HP Pavilion 15 (model OBHD9-SATA-SATA-BU9), of NewmodeUS (http://www.newmodeus.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_5&products_id=583)

    2 - a SSD 128 GB (article SDSSDHP - 128G), SanDisk (http://www.sandisk.com/products/ssd/sata/ultra-plus/?capacity=128gb)

I have a few questions before I buy parts:

1 - the two drives (my old HDD and the new SSD) are recognized by the motherboard / BIOS and the operating system (Windows, 10)? Is there a limit to a unique HARD/SSD disk drive on the computer?

2 - the height of the SSD is 7mm, and it seems that my old HDD is 9.5 mm in height (model WDC WD10JPVT-60A1YT0). It would cause no problem (I need to add spacers)?

3 - these parts work together and with my computer (size, compatibility)? You can expect any problems with this upgrade?

4 - clean install Windows 10 quote, because I intend to install it on a different drive than the one I used to create the key USB recovery flash? I have never done a clean install of Windows before.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

    Haghe

Your plan is perfect. The SSD to will of 7 mm that always come back fine it just will be lower in the caddy. The holes and SATA connections are in the same place as a hard drive of 9.5 mm. You can use a spacer (many SSD include one in the box) but not really necessary.

Installing SSD for Windows 10 the way you expect is not really "own", that he will again introduce files and programs, in my opinion and certainly drivers. Whatever it is, it works perfectly and activates the old installation has been enabled.

The hard disk in the optical adapter will not be bootable and will transfer the data a bit slower than a drive in the main compartment, but will still be usable for most cases. If you need fast input/output like Photoshop or video editing move the job file to the first SSD. Alternatively, you may wish to consider documents and photos and other migration on the HARD drive to keep the 128 GB SSD to fill. You can right-click on these files and select 'place' and move them. After the back if you need some help with that.

    Enjoy.

  • Portege R500 - Bad optical drive delays the start - how to fix?

The Portege R500 has recently begun does not start. Initially there not some time later, frequently. By chance, I discovered that if I left alone for a minute or two, he will continue to start. That and the noise coming from the optical driver, made me suspect the problem was not with the HARD drive, as I feared at first, but with the optical driver.

I read in the thread below that other people had this problem. MrBear mentions * I pulled it out again and pushed on the Ribbon connecting the CD-ROM to make sure they were safe. Turned on again and he pulled up without problem! *

    Link: [http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=43300&tstart=0]

Could someone clarify in what ribbons must be treated? Only those who are visible by opening the drive? Or it is necessary to open the notebook?

Furthermore, if I booted into Windows, it stopped again, for a minute or two, while Windows is loading. With Ubuntu, there is no such problem. Perhaps Windows tries to communicate with the optical driver for some reason any.

    Tnaks for any help!

    Hello!

Is your laptop still under warranty? If so I put t understand why you try to solve the problem by yourself. Go to the nearest EPA and ask a technician for help. These guys are very useful and they have the most experience on laptop repairs.

On the Toshiba site, you can search the nearest ASP:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported downloads & => find an authorized service provider

And the problem with Windows, it is difficult to tell why Windows stops for a minute. Maybe it s a software problem so disable all programs that you start n t need in msconfig.

    Hello!

I need to replace the DVD burner for my SP10-554 (PSP10E-00NK5-GR model number). Which drives should I use?
I don't have a DVD burner, a CD burner will do for everyday...

    Thanks for your replies!

    Martin

    HI Martin,

If you replace your CD player because of an error, then it is probably better to replace it with a similar model. This way you can be assured that it will be fully compatible.

However, you can replace your optical drive with a variety of other brands as long that you choose one that is specifically for portable use. These are usually referred to as 'slim' or 'slimline '. You may find that some components, such as the collar do not exactly match your laptop.

Drivers tend to be fairly generic Windows XP, but you may need to download additional drivers if you want to use DVD-RAM discs.

Toshiba to adapt different brands in their notebooks (Mat * a, TEAC, Toshiba, etc) then you a reasonable range from which to choose.

Try Googling for the appropriate players. Prices vary slightly.

  • MS Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 300 - no longer works

I have a laptop with Vista as my current program.  I have a Microsoft Notebook Optical Mouse 3000 since the first day Wirless.  The mouse was working very well!  I use computer a day and the wireless mouse no longer works.  Green light on the USB key is on, red light on the mouse is on.  I'm in the peripherals - mouse and it shows active.  I even remove the USB and it shows then it isn't here.  Here's my question - why the mouse will not talk to the USB port and works now?  I even went out and bought a different MS Mouse and it didn't work either.  All known manufacturing, programming, software between MS and Vista mouse problems?

Perhaps Windows does not recognize the mouse as real human interface device. If you go into Device Manager, highlight unfamiliar material, choose Update driver and then manually point it on either

    C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\mouclass.sys
    C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\mouhid.sys

... did allow the mouse to install?

laptop optical mouse 3000 not totally work as it is in win 7 64 bit, but very well under win xp.

Hi, a problem with my laptop optical mouse 3000 with windows 7 64 bit.

the problem is that I am not able to scroll in the yahoo mail Inbox and in the Favorites of google chrome, but others such as scrolling through site Internet is fine. Makes me kind of stay away from windows 7 and stick to windows xp.
Another thing, it was that the experience with movement/pointer speed in windows 7 64 bit was totally different. experience with the speed of movement/pointer is at the time when I uninstall the driver and use the default windows HID-compliant driver.
all this problem never encounter in windows xp.
I doubt it could be the driver problem.
I tried to reinstall windows, reinstall intellipoint, reinstalling a newer version of intellipoint (7.10.344.0), but it does not help.
What should I do now? wait for a newer driver for notebook optical Mouse-mouse 3000?
I hope someone could fix that.

In the affirmative, please go ahead and uninstall them and then try to install the driver software IntelliPoint 8.2 in compatibility mode as stated in my previous post dated 22 December 2014. • Need help to install Windows 8.1 on the partition, bootcamp on Macbook Pro 15 "mid-2010 w / no optical drive"

I tried for almost a week in all possible ways to get windows installed on a boot camp partition on my main SSD 1 TB drive as a partition, or on my HARD drive, which is installed in place of the optical drive.  So far, everything I tried to give me some sort of error at some point in the process.  It seems that many of them are case by case, so I thought that I invite you all and see if you can help!

I use a Macbook Pro 15 "mid-2010 that I improved with a 1 TB SSD drive as the startup disk.  My optical drive was not functional, so I moved my old 500 GB HARD drive to the location of the optical Bay.  I am also under the latest version of El Capitan (10.11.6)
    Here are my system specs:

    Presentation of the material:

    Model name: MacBook Pro

    Model identifier: MacBookPro6, 2

    Processor name: Intel Core i7

    Processor speed: 2.8 GHz

    Number of processors: 1

    Total number of cores: 2

(By heart) L2 Cache: 256 KB

    L3 Cache: 4 MB

    Memory: 8 GB

Processor speed of interconnection: 4.8 GT/s

    Boot ROM version: MBP61.0057.B11

Version of the SCM (System): 1.58f17

What I tried (from what I remember):

I tried to change the Bootcamp info.plist file for my version of the macbook pro to use a USB stick for the installer.  It seems to have installed correctly but once I partition the disk and restart the computer, it gets stuck on a white screen with the Apple logo and I am forced to make a hard stop and then hold down option to boot into OS X, recovery, or the EFI Boot.

If I go through the windows installation to start the EFI system, I get an error of:
"Windows cannot be installed to this disk.  The selected disk is a MBR partition table.  On EFI systems, Windows cannot be installed on GPT disks. »

I also tried to create a partition by using disk utility, and that too made me an error in the installation of windows.

So far, the only way that I'm away from windows to run at all has been using the free trial of VMware Fusion 8... but I intend to use windows for more intensive tasks like audio pro, and merger simply does not offer the performance necessary to run these programs.  I'm hoping to install windows 8.1 on my internal SSD or HARD drive, regardless of the work - as long as OS X and files associated with it are left alone.

If someone could help me please understand this point, I would really appreciate it!

    Thank you
