HP OfficeJet G85: 10 Windows messed up my printer

I've updated to Windows 10 and now my printer prints half a page, then gets an error and stops. I ran the resolution of problems and he stated that the printer was plugged into a "USB 3.0' and plug it into a"USB 2.0 ". It's the same USB port, it's always been plugged. Windows 10 he change? How can I change this back? Or at least, how can I solve the problem?

I know just enough about computers to be dangerous so please be friendly and accurate.

Thank you

Hi @freeperkey,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see since the upgrade to the operating system Windows 10, you are no longer able to print to your HP Officejet g85. You get a ' USB 3.0 "and plug in a" USB 2.0 "message error, but you never changed the port.»

Please go ahead and start printing HP and doctor Scan > www.hp.com/go/tools

Now, make sure that you have installed the appropriate driver, because there is no comprehensive software features and drivers available, you need to install the printer using the built in driver. See below:

Install and use the built-in Windows print driver

Be sure to check all of the FAQ that some of the features will be limited.

How this work? You are now able to print?

I'll watch for your reply.

I have a PC that has Windows XP (sp-3), the HP OfficeJet G85, all works well with a parallel cable of the G85 to the computer.  I got the updated operating system upgraded to Windows 7 (64-bit).  Put everything back with my parallel cable, I installed the G85 on the computer and tried to print a page.  Nothing.  So far, help did not help and I'm getting nowhere.  Someone knows how to fix this?

I'm not sure if Win7 will come back to the parallel cable. Is there a reason any your using the parallel cable instead of USB? This printer driver is included in Windows 7, but AFAIK you must use a USB cable. • Printer HP Officejet 4620 on Windows Vista will not print

Hello. It is a replacement printer sent me after the motherboard on my first brought to stop working 2 months. The replacement printer is installed, but it stopped printing. He did print test pages when I first put in place, but when I go to print a standard Microsoft Word 2007 document, I get the flashing box that says: "the printer is ready. Click OK to continue. The flashes of the box, but when I hit okay, nothing happens and the print queue of the printer says "delete." I ran the HP scan and fix, and he reported that everything was going well. The machine still does not print!

If you can't get the program to uninstall, then it may be a problem with the way that the Windows operating system treats the registry keys.  Is there a Fixit program provided by Microsoft that allows programs that cannot be installed or uninstalled.  Please click the link below and use this utility to help the uninstall process.

  • Officejet G85 prints on Windows 8.1

I just installed a new PC with Windows Pro 8.1 as operating system.

Send a document to the result of the printer by printing a half-page, then the operating system displays an error message indicating that the printer cannot print the document.

I tried to unstall the driver using the statement of Sunshyn2005, but I could not.

The warning message indicates that the printer is in use?

I did a reboot to have its own memory, but continues to display this warning message.

I am not able to uninstall the Officejet G85 printerdriver and reinstall again according to the instructions of the manufacturer of Sunshyn2005 .

Please can someone give me a solution?

I found this answer on another site and it worked for my computer.

The G85 printer has made to get its data from a USB2 entry. You probably use a newer computer. This computer has taken USB2 and USB3.  You, like me, accidentally plugged the G85 one taken USB3. It must simply be plugged into a USB2 plug.

This video explains the difference between the two types of USB and shows clearly what to look for in the containers in order to be able to tell the difference between them and get your G85 connected on the right.

    (1) hit your start icon
    (2) select devices and printers

    3) double-click the Fax icon

  • Manual duplex, duplex printing does not work on my HP Officejet g85 all-in - One Printer running Windows 7

I have a new 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium PC which I plugged my HP Officejet G85 printer via a USB cable.

Tell the truth, the 'instructions' click on the 'FEATURES' tab on the active manual duplex duplexing aka.  My driver does not work

have a "FEATURES" tab - so I can't print double-sided.  CAN YOU HELP ME?  It is not for lack of printing, since everything still works perfectly on my old XP computer.

THE COMMANDS THAT I USE ARE:
"FILE, PRINT, HP G85, preferences and get 'LAYOUT' & PAPER/QUALITY" tabs (but not "FEATURES" tab).

Tab AVAILABLE the has a "print on both sides:" box of choice: a) return on long edges or Rtrn b)

BUT EITHER IT HAPPENS ELSEWHERE NOTHING EXCEPT THE OUTPUT PRINTER ON ONE SIDE!  Help!

XP drivers will not install in Windows 7 and XP mode, to higher than the Premium family edition.

As far as I KNOW, even if you install the printer in XP mode, I don't think you can access the printer from Windows 7.

The solutions are to use free Office or Open Office in XP mode, collect the files to print and then print out them which can result in the document formatting issues.

HP is trying to tell you that you need to buy something for their current range.

    Hello

You can run the printer troubleshooter. Convenience store solves some common printing problems.

If your computer has problems printing, try using the printer Troubleshooter to solve the problem. He made sure that a printer is connected to your computer, and it checks for common issues such as whether the printer has enough paper and toner to complete printing your document.

Open the printer Troubleshooter by clicking the Start button, then Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooting, and then click Troubleshooting. Under hardware and sound, click on use printer.

  • OfficeJet G85: G85 present in the list of devices. Do not print or scan via USB. Does scan not (seems ok) through parallel.

I have a slightly used good job G85, I've had since. It is also connected to my PC cable to printer large and more recently a USB cable. In Windows 10, it is detected as two separate printers in Control Panel. Right click on the USB watch version my OPTIONS for print or scan and solutions for the "Properties" but doesn't actually is. "Print test page" doesn't work anymore. Printer cable version prints fine but does me no scan options when right click. It's the way it has been all the time, he was running Windows 7. Today, I had the desire to analyze something so my addition of the USB cable. Has anyone has overcome the hurdle of getting the PC not only SEE the printer/scanner but actually communicate with her. BTW, I tried HP Print and Scan doctor but it blocks just about 45% of the way through 'communicate' even with my firewall disabled. I'm sure I have the latest drivers (2013). HP Web site dropped files to download for this product. Is there any generic scanning software that could help break the communication problem?

Sorry for the late reply. What you suggested did NOT work. It came with an error message that says "cannot delete HP OfficeJet G85 mode user-3 of Type x 64 driver." The specified printer driver is currently in use. Then I looked into 'restart the print spooler' but I got nowhere with either.

HOWEVER, this was working. Disconnected the two cables, uninstalled the two G85s, restarted the computer. Plugged in the USB cable, printer found by 10 PC/Windows. Test page printed successfully. THEN find new devices have crossed and had Windows search to scan it found and now it works as well.

Even if your solution did not work in my case, I thank you for the time you took to answer.

  • Cannot scan from HP Officejet G85. Printer detected but no scanner.

    Hello
I have a HP Officejet G85 all-in-one.  HP offers not only drivers or software downloads with Windows 7 support.  They recommend just plug the printer, let Windows 7 recognize it, and the WIA drivers will be installed for the basic functions.  They suggest scan from paint or Windows Fax and Scan.  However, when I try to either, it says that no scanner is connected.  The G85 is recognized as a printer and print very well.  Is there something I need to do to get Windows to detect the scanner as well?  Is it possible that the scanner WIA driver do not settle?  I tried to unplug and plug back in, but still that the printer is detected.  Thanks for any help.

He never goes to work better that it did in Vista, unfortunately according to HP, this is an obsolete unit and they do not plan to spend more on it.  If you read: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00808543&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=60399&lang=en scroll down to the section on digitization.

  • OfficeJet 6700 on Windows 7 - HP solutions Center

HP Solution Center does not recognize my 6700 Officejet printer. My first thought was to uninstall and reinstall HP Solution Center. How can I get a copy to reinstall. Or, if there is a more simple solution, I would like to know abou it.  Thank you, Sandy

    Hi Sandy,

The solution Center HP is part of the software provided for older products from HP, is not part of the HP software for the 6700 and can not be used with the specific model.

You can access the software by clicking on the Windows icon ( ), click HP , click all programs , click on the HP Officejet 6700 folder, and then click the HP Officejet 6700. The software of the printer opens.

  • HP Officejet J4540 All In One: Why can't check my ink levels on my officejet J4540 with windows 8.1 installed on my computer

I want to check on my printer ink levels, but there is no way I can see to do since I installed

Windows 8.1 on my computer. There must be another way to check it out, but I can't figure out how.

    Hi @sneakers1491,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I see you're wondering how to check the ink with your HP Officejet J4540 levels. I'm happy to help you!

First of all, I recommend going through this guide, check the ink levels for HP Officejet J4500 and J4600 all-in-One Printer Series.

If this does not work for you, on the printer itself, press the key icon in the upper right corner, it will take you to settings, then continue to press the right arrow until you see print report, then press OK. You will see the self-test on the screen, press OK again. Will display the test page, and then you will see the level of ink on the printed page.

    I hope this information helps!
