HP officejet j4540 in paper

I try to print on my HP Officejet J4540 all-in-one printer, but an error message "Out of Paper".  The printer has a sufficient amount of paper & will even print a test just fine... page and deal with copies of the scanner.  I cleaned the rollers and reset the printer by unplugging the power supply on the back for 30 seconds and reconnect but I still have the error message and cannot print.  How can I fix this error?  I can't send anything to print on it.

There is a document with steps to help solve paper on a J4540 errors. Please check the steps described in the linked document here.

I hope this helps.

  • HP Officejet J4540 All In One: Why can't check my ink levels on my officejet J4540 with windows 8.1 installed on my computer

I want to check on my printer ink levels, but there is no way I can see to do since I installed

Windows 8.1 on my computer. There must be another way to check it out, but I can't figure out how.

    Hi @sneakers1491,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I see you're wondering how to check the ink with your HP Officejet J4540 levels. I'm happy to help you!

First of all, I recommend going through this guide, check the ink levels for HP Officejet J4500 and J4600 all-in-One Printer Series.

If this does not work for you, on the printer itself, press the key icon in the upper right corner, it will take you to settings, then continue to press the right arrow until you see print report, then press OK. You will see the self-test on the screen, press OK again. Will display the test page, and then you will see the level of ink on the printed page.

    I hope this information helps!

  • OfficeJet J4540: Windows 7 not recognize Officejet J4540 fax

I just got a new 780 Optiplex Dell running Windows 7.  I tried to install the HP Solutions Center, but got the message that it was not supported on Windows 7.  I downloaded the HP Document Manager as the new software.  I can scan from the Officejet J4540 and print, but the computer does not see the Officejet J4540 as a fax.  Officjet J4540 is connected to a phone line and is capable of the fax as I have to fax directly from the printer console.  How can I get the computer to see the printer as a fax device?

    Thank you in advance.

I read your email about how you are facing problems with the installation of the printer software on your Windows 7 system, and I'm hoping to help!

You will not have an installation disc to install the printer on your computer, you can download and run the installation compatible with Windows 7 here:

    Hello
Follow the steps below and check if it solves the problem:

1 open the Mcafee Virus and Spyware Protection software you are interested in, click on calendar and perform analyses. Click analysis in real time, and then click stop. Select until I restart the PC and confirm by clicking the button turn off.

If you have any other security software, be sure to disable any real-time Protection during installation.

Now, try to reinstall the HP software and check if the installation goes as planned.

If the problem persists, run the following tool:
    FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/Printers/datfileremover/installdatfileclean.exe

And then run the installation file and check all difference

  • OfficeJet J4540 habit of scanning

I have a HP Officejet J4540 all-in-one.  It will print without any problem but when I try to scan a document I get the following on my computer screen error message:

An unexpected internal error has occurred.  Click OK to close the program, then try one of the following:

    -Restart the program

-Restart the PC and then try again

-Reinstall the software Photo & Imagining and try again

I did everything above and even ran a program of diagnosis proposed by HP that came with no error.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Did a google search and found this solution.  Stop all antivirus software or spyware, you have running.  They sometimes prevent some files of configuration during installation.  Close the mine and it worked fine.  Anti-virus restarted after installation and everything is fine.

  • HP Officejet Pro - second paper tray 8600

My Officejet Pro 8500 Premium printer no longer works. Bought a new printer Officejet Pro 8600, the basic version. Is it possible to reuse the 8500 second tray paper on my new printer?

I can't say with certainty, but a couple of data points suggest 'no ':

    • The part number for the 8600 Officejet and Officejet 8500 extra paper tray are different.  The Officejet 8600 extra paper tray is the CN548A, the 8500 is CM759A.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8610: Paper feeding problems

Is it possible to manually feed a single sheet of paper in the 8610?  I have sheets simple manual power in my old Lazerjet 4Plus and find it convenient if I use 'good side paper '. (reuse, recycling)

    @Arnot41

Welcome to the Community Forum of HP.

I don't think you can "unique paper source" in this printer.

Part of the problem could be the way the printer picks up the paper - the mechanism (rollers, power, sensors) - must be "so" or something can glitch and you might get an error any.

Assuming that the paper is the same quality paper that could be used in the printer in any case, it is standard 20 # bnd, white paper, or another high-quality brand HP or equivalent, then the following should work:

You might be able to 'good use' book on top of new paper in the tray from the stack and use it that way.  If the printer not to panic because of the paper with something printed on the back of the paper, it should work.

Stack the paper into the tray with the clean side to print "hidden face".   This means that the 'already printed side' will be visible when the paper is in the tray.

You can try it certainly - if the printer doesn't like it, it will tell you on this subject.

The 8630 Pro OfficeJet print on paper one side "already used" - I just tested.

  • HP Officejet J4540 all-in-one

I have a printer all-in-one HP Officejet J4540 using 8.1 Windows 64 bit.  I downloaded the recommended driver full features and that did not help.

When I try to print certain documents (the airline tickets), the ancestry.com census results, etc. it does not print the necessary document.  It prints other things on the page, just not the document to be printed.  It will also print at the bottom of the page the source of the documents.

Any help will be appreciated.  This all started when I got a new computer with Windows 8.

Hi @cga71 and welcome to the Forums of HP!

I see that you are having problems printing.  I would like to help!

What internet browser do you use?  I recommend trying another browser, like Firefox, Explorer or Chrome.

I recommend then perform a power reset.  Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug back in the printer. Make sure that you connect the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any surge protector or power bar.

I suggest also download and run the HP print and Scan doctor.

Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting operations. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

  • HP Officejett Pro 8600: paper jam

I have a paper jam and I cannot fix it after viewing the video of HP.  The paper is visible from the front and after removal of the duplexer.  The book seems to be tightly wound around the roller.  I can't go out fron the front and it's wrapper around the roll, when I look at the back.  Any suggestions?

    Dottie

    Hey @Dottie11,

I see that you have some problems with a paper jam in your 8600 e-all-in-one printer Officejet. I can help you with that, but it is not a lot that can be done in this situation.

If the printer is still under warranty, I suggest to contact the HP Support by clicking on this link and fill out the form below.

If the printer is out of warranty, the best I can do is suggest more strength or cutting paper with scissors. Those who are not HP recommended troubleshooting steps and HP can not guaranteed that they will help with the jam, but it's the best I can do.

Please let me know the results after following the above. If you clear the jam or come up with a solution, please click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.

I don't know the terminology to search for this problem.  There are times when paper changes (for example the new color), but not always.  Hate waste, hate to lose the County. Should I clean something?

Welcome to the HP community @macandsons!

I came across your message on several pages of food through your Officejet 8600 and wanted to pop in to help. I would like to see you link below and try the steps in the order for that matter. Generally a good cleaning roll will help this type of concern.
