HP OFFICEJET PRO 6830 isn't printing

My HP6830 will not print.  There is no error message. I checked for the latest drivers and software and there is no. I was able to print a test page for the printer and the computer seem to be communicating.  The ink tank is low, but no message will appear.   I have reboted the printer several times.  I use Chrome and I touched in general printing or NDRC/P icon and it prints.  Now, nothing happens. It's happened several times, but I managed to solve using HP but nothing is solving the current problem.

Welcome to the Forum from HP Support.

I am familiar with the chime you are referring in your HP Officejet Pro 6830 e-all-in-one printer.  I would like to help.

You can set the right of the front panel of the printer settings:

    • Contact preference
    • Select the Volume of the sound effects
    • Mute button

Let me know if this helps you to silence the chime. If I helped you to solve the problem, feel free to give me a virtual h.o.t. by clicking the "Thumbs Up" icon below and by clicking to accept this solution.

  • OfficeJet Pro 6830: Can't print multiple copies with my new 6830 Pro of Officejet

I installed my 6830 and have updated the drivers.  It is on my home wifi network and works well.   All functions work perfectly, but when I try to print multiple copies by selecting the number of copies in the print dialog in Adobe Reader, MS Word and MS Excel, all I get is a copy no matter how much I said.  (This is probably true of other software, too, but these are the only ones I've tried so far).  This makes print multiple copies very tedious.

Why it won't print multiple copies, and how to fix it?

Welcome to the HP community @JoetheGOM ,

I read your post about how you cannot print multiple copies of your Mac 10.7, running to your Officejet 6830. I have some suggestions for you below!

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Reset the printing system
    2. Repair disk permissions
    3. Restart the Mac.
    4. Install the complete driver here: HP Officejet Pro 6830 e-all-in-one printer
    5. Repeat your impressions.

If you cannot always make several copies, try posting this question in Apple Support communities.

  • HP Officejet Pro 6830: Get the printer and the message "the printer into an error state" will not be printed

Just received this printer refurbished HP 2 weeks ago to replace the one who had a problem with printhead.  Printing worked initially, but now I get the message "the printer into an error state" when I try to print.  The screen at the front of the printer automatically turns off as well, as he is extinguished.

    Hi @M45,

Thank you for joining the Forums of HP Support!

I see that you are unable to print because the printer is in an error state. I will definitely do my best to help you and don't forget to come back to this thread and mark "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

I would like to do a hard reset to see if that will solve the problem.

    1. Let the printer and disconnect the printer cable and the wall socket for 60 seconds.
    2. Reconnect the power cable to the output of the printer and the wall, and not a surge protector. This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.
    3. Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet (do not use a bar or a surge protector).

If there's an error message displayed in the menu on the front panel, before the display of the printer turns off?

Please download and run the print and Scan of the doctor, it will be probably diagnose and fix the problem you are experiencing.

    • What were the results when you ran the printing and scanning doctor (she print or scan, error messages)?
    • Click here to update the firmware of the printer with a USB connection.

If you have completed all the above steps and your product still has a problem, service the product.

    Check the warranty status: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/wc/public/home

  • OfficeJet pro 6830: hp accidentally utility 'off all '.

I clicked on utilities (from my Macbook) HP 'Disable all' botton for HP printer & scanner. Now, all functions (such as wireless communication) and features (each button on the touch screen of the printer) are locked.

The message appears on the touchscreen specifies "contact the system administrator or the person who set up the printer.

Where can I access the command directory "Administrator"? On my Macbook? Or via HP online account user? Or some kind of password-key - assigned to the OfficeJet Pro 6830 on the printer itself? It's very confusing that nowhere can I find the directory "Administrator" of all of the above.

Without a solution, I've looked everywhere in the HP online support, read JO 6830 Pro manual, as well as follow-up steps for the hard-reset and tried to re - start the pritner with cable router. The printer is still loked up and the wireless icon is grayed out. Then the last attempt is I uninstalled printer HP application of my Macbook and I tried to reinstall the software again, now I got the message "installation failed." At this point, I don't know what to do.

    Hey @Ruben10,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see you have some problems with the administrator settings on your 6830 e-all-in-one printer Officejet. I can help you with that.

I'll send you some instructions describing how to do a factory reset on your printer. You should see a private message to your forum Inbox shortly.

  • OfficeJet Pro 6830: replaced warranty for printer and cartridges of manipulation

My Officejet Pro 6830 AiO printer doesn't have 3 months after purchase (power supply is ok, but it no longer lights). I contacted HP support and a replacement printer is on the way.
Unfortunately I replaced all ink cartridges 'setup' 4 with brand new just a few days before the failure of the printer, so I asked the Lady to support (good person) if and how I can recover the defective device.
She told me to take off the cartridges of the faulty unit and retain them for the replacement printer, but was to serve once the "setup" cartridges sent with the unit will be out of ink.

    Now, I have some doubts:

    (1) when I take my full semi the defective printer cartridges, I fear that the ink will start to dry... should I cover the opening at the bottom of the cartridges with tape? Will it be enough?

    (2) the ink in the printhead of the defective unit will start to get dry as well. The defect of the device is clearly in electronics, while the print head has worked perfectly. Isn't bad to leave the print head is clogged by dry ink? I still have empty cartridges "setup" out (differentiation 'stock' of waste...) should I put them on the print head?

    (3) the defective printer does not turn so to loosen its cartridges, I need to manually pull the cart of the printhead to the center position. Is it Ok?

Thanks to all those who will clear this point to me.

    Hi @RickyGold,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I see that you have questions about your printer HP Officejet Pro 6830. I am happy to answer these questions for you!

    To answer your questions:

    1. To properly store the cartridges, I suggest you put them in an airtight container, such as a ziplock bag or Tupperware. Make sure that the contacts on the cartridges are not touch anything.
    2. I wouldn't worry about the obstruction with the defective printer printhead.
    3. I suggest to try to move the cartridge door manually, but don't force it, if it will not move freely. If you are unable to get the cartridges, please contact HPtelephone support for further assistance. As they would be able to replace the cartridges for you. (After you fill out the information, you will receive a phone number.) If you do not live in the United States / Canada region, please click the link below to get help from your region number. • HP OfficeJet Pro 6830 constantly go 'offline' and cannot print

    Hello world.

I love my HP OfficeJet Pro 6830. It does everything I need a printer / scanner but it is one of the aspects that are really starting to annoy me and my family (i.e. my WIFE!) - he continues to go 'Offline '.

I understand perfectly that it needs/desires to go to save mode, when I'm not using it or have not used for some time, but for now, every time I have seem to need to use it (after I have not used for some time) of energy, it is listed as 'offline' and the only way I can print is stepping on him , turn off, turn it back on, wait a while so it connects to my WiFi network and then have another go. Then it works... and prints the other five copies of the document that my eager family tried to print!

"HP print and Scan Doctor" said he of just nothing wrong and just suggest just uninstall and reinstall. I already tried and it changed nothing. Same problem with Windows 7 and 8.1. It will print a page of 'internal' test, but not via Windows test page.

I also tried to restart the spoler and checked the 'File and Printer sharing' settings, the firewall settings and looked at the network discovery and run various windows troubleshooting tools without result. Nothing works, but the HP Officejet Pro 6830 software can see / communicate with him! It's so frustrating.

Someone at - it ideas? This really, REALLY boring. Thanks in advance to anyone who donated their time to help me.

    Regards,

    Steve.

  • Printer HP Officejet Pro 6830: OS 10.6.8 and Officejet Pro 6830

I just bought a HP all-in-one Officejet 6830 Pro printer, fax, scanner, copier.  I connected it to my laptop, a MacBook Pro OS 10.6.8.  It copy in color, but it will not print from a file in color.  He apparently correctly scan in color, but not to print the scanned in color.  How to print in color?  I can't upgrade my system because I will not be able to access critical software.  What recourse do I have?  When I bought it was incompatible with some operating systems, there is no warning!

    Hey @cshein,

Welcome to the Forum from HP Support.

I understand that you encounter an incompatibility between your old version of Mac OS and your new HP Officejet Pro 6830 e-all-in-one printer.  I would like to help.  I can certainly sympathize with you on this one - even if your Mac is not old in real terms, Snow Leopard not blessed with a specific driver for your printer.  I have a workaround that you can try:

The steps I posted in another thread here suggest using the generic PCL driver for the Mac.  This thread is about a former printer used with Yosemite, this article indicates that the similarities between the latest version of Mac and Snow Leopard are close enough to my advice work with your devices.  Let me know if this approach to configuration works and allows you to print in color.

Note that the generic PCL printer driver probably won't make you analyze the features of the computer.  If you want to scan without using HP software, click here to get suggestions from HP on how to do it.  Note that this article 10.7 Mac users - oriented steps must always be relevant as Apple Preview, picture Capture and printing and scanning app are all common Mac OS applications that probably are Aussies in versions older Mac OS.

Please let me know the result of your troubleshooting by responding to this post.  If I helped you to solve the problem, feel free to say "You rock!" by clicking the "Thumbs Up" icon below and by clicking to accept this solution.

Thanks for posting in the Forum from HP Support.  Have a great day!
