HP Officejet Pro 8000 A809 wireless printer

Recently I had to install a new router that has a new password, and now I have a wireless connection between the printer and my Macs (OS 10.7). I had read that I need to run the installation using the original HP cd, but I couldn't get to re-establish the wireless connection. Anyone has an idea on how to restore the connection with the printer?

Hi Pastel_paper,

Thanks for your post, I will do my best to help.

I understand that you have replaced your router and should now connect to the new network.

I reset the network settings and run the Wireless Setup again.

Here is a link to a document on the reset network settings

Connect your printer with a USB cable for Mac and turn on.

On Mac, go to applications/finder/Hewlett Packard / utilities/HP setup assistant device.

Open the installation wizard and follow the prompts to complete the installation.

Once wireless has been established, you can disconnect the USB.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8000 A809- and ePrint

According to this document, my printer HP Officejet Pro 8000 A809-should support the apps mobile ePrint. To do this, however, it seems that the printer needs an e-mail address. I looked through the built-in Web server and cannot find anything on an e-mail address for the printer. (This printer does not have an interactive control / display.)

Can someone tell me if the printer has an e-mail address, and how do I access it? Or is there another way to make it work with ePrint? Thank you!

Hi, your printer is not capable ePrint has therefore not his own e-mail address. However, it is compatible with the application print ePrint mobile that does not require the pritner to have an e-mail address. When it is installed on a mobile device (smartphone or Tablet) the app should search for your printer to the printer and the device are on the same WiFi network. Here is a link where you can find more information about the print application mobile ePrint http://www8.hp.com/us/en/products/smart-phones-handhelds-calculators/mobile-apps/app_details.html?app=tcm:245 - 1220078 & platform = tcm:245 - 1220080

  • My Officejet Pro 8000 A809 do not print, but there is no error message

When I try to print on my Hp Officejet Pro 8000 from my Windows 7 laptop wireless, the laptop is of the view that printing took place. I get no error message. But nothing comes out of the printer. Sometimes this small error on the printer flashes, but because the laptop thinks everything is fine, I can't understand why. I've run the troubleshooter, who says he has no problems, and rebooted the printer and the computer more than once as well. My printer (HP Officejet 6500 a) wireless works fine. Does anyone have a suggestion?

    Thank you for your help.

    Kat

Thank you for you a message.  My printer worked fine with my Windows 7 laptop as I upgraded from Vista in May.  This the first time this problem has occurred.  I have change a color ink cartridge in the morning that it has stopped working.  But, he continued to work for about 3 hours after the replacement of the cartridge, so I don't really think that's the problem.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8000 double-sided printing will not respond to the control software #2

    Win XP Pro SP3

    OfficeJet Pro 8000 Wireless

Does anyone know why Officejet Pro 8000 had control of double-sided printing, removed from the spec software?

Does anyone know if there is a printer of this type which will respond to such control?

    UPDATE!

    ----------

This printer is now works very well with total control on duplex printing. But how did this happen...?

Two things have changed - well, maybe three.

But first of all to mention another very annoying problem: wireless printer to my network connection always collapsed which was a double nuisance (23/06/2016 see also installing the driver wireless Officejet 8000 Pro says default gateway is 0.0.0.0)

The road to happiness... I've finally updated my PC to a laptop HP Win7 (there is a problem with the laptop, but that's another story...)

During the process of setting up laptop, I had to set up the network and add the printer. In between aid was a FAQ something like "the wirless connection drops regularly." What interested me.

The fix was so simple - mychosen IP address has always been in the DNS range which was probably not very smart, but I didn't know any different. No one had ever mentioned before.

The idea is to select an address in the static range IE outside the DNS. So I took a number x.x.x.249 and bingo!, a solid and reliable connection that is always there.

Given the new laptop for download the drivers again. What went well and of course, the new machine is much faster.

Anyway after a few tries, much to my delight I discovered that two-sided printing worked with auto rotation if I check the box. Printing a document like that I would see in portrate (horizontal spine) and read down the two pages, turn to the next page and the same thing at the end of the document. Or, if you use the rotation of non - normal mode - the printing orientation is 'normal '.

It's a shame that it was necessary to buy a new laptop with a new o/s just to discover the problem by chance...

  • C9297A-hardware issue wireless HP Officejet Pro 8000 A809

I removed the printhead cyan/magenta yesterday to manually clean print heads.  Today printed Self Test diagnostic page, then tried to print the print quality diagnostics page and the jammed paper. When I opened the top, the print head Assembly was arrested a little right of Center.  Next to it is an approx. 3-1/2 "thin metal bar attached somewhere on the front of printer. bar a hook on the free end that runs through a small slit in a 2 "x 1/4" piece of black rubber with ridges on it. I have a picture...

My question is, is the rubber belt broken or is the hook of thing supposed to attach to something, all of the above or none of the above; and can it be repaired at a relatively low cost, like max $50-75? Thanks, Debwillard

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, the belt that holds the broken son, and HP told me it was an irreplaceable part.  They offered me a reconditioned HP OfficeJet Pro 8100 at a satisfactory price.  I must say that I am VERY VERY happy that I got the 8100, because it's a lot better than the 8000 printer.   Everything is better. Ink cartridges are much easier to install; Printing speed is fast; paper jams were virtually nonexistent.  It saved me a wealth of anguish and frustration. My 8000 is now on the ground with the papers and records stacked on it.  One day I'll get the water and lift away, but I'm too busy right now to care.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8000 A809 loses wireless connectivity

This printer is connected via USB to a PC running Windows HP Home and wireless to a Mac running OS 10.6.  The printer works with the Mac occasionally, but most of the time, I get a "printer offline" message on the Mac.  Sometimes power cycling the printer restore connectivity, but not always.  Any suggestions?

    Bill Piercy

OK, great.  Thanks for the details.  I understand better now.

First of all, I will turn off printer sharing on the host PC, if you do not use.  In addition, remove the instance of USB printer shared on your Mac if you do not use.

Now, there are a few things we can do to improve the situation.

-First of all, make sure that your router has the latest firmware.  Need help?

-Second, after the firmware is updated, we will set an IP address of the printer:

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). Range of your router is 192.168.0.100 a.199 we will use 192.168.0.200

-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Let the gateway and DNS white. Click 'apply '.

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

Finally, we will restore the print on your Mac system:

    -Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
-Right (Ctrl) click the box of the print queue and select Reset Printing System.
-Select the sign + to add again. Search for the printer, select it, and wait until the button 'Add' becomes available. Until it clicks.

OK, now, why don't use you the printer on the network with your computer and lose the USB connection?  The PC is connected to the D-Link?  If so, no matter if the PC is wired or wireless, it will have access to your printer.

Hello @roger232 , welcome to the forums!

I read your post on "Print quality" issues you have experienced with your Officejet 8000, and I wanted to answer you with my suggestions.

I would recommend troubleshooting using the guide I posted for you below. Cartridges seemed its OK for me personally however, the problem may be with the printhead (s), and it is still possible with a good read to them (as you mentioned). Give a procedure and if the problem persists, call us directly to discuss your printing with HP options. I'll leave details below as well!

  • OfficeJet pro 8000 a809 offline

I have my computer set up through my router att wireless. I was constantly having a problem with my printer to random disconnect. I continue to reinstall my officejet and it will print for awhile. Then in a couple of weeks off not where it will say that it is impossible to print again because it is offline. Wireless passes, everything is turned on and ready, but the connection fails.

    Help, please.

    Thank you

Oh, a 169.254.x.x IP is a printer gives himself, when it cannot connect to your router.  We will do this:

Sometimes Internet service providers have more control over the router like the printer.

-Unplug the Internet line, which runs between the router and the wall
-Cut the power to the router, wait 30 seconds, then turn on the power.
-Go through the normal process of the printer connected to the router.
-Now to find the IP address of the printer (it should be on the self-test printout), type it in a browser.
-On this screen, you will find a tab management network, then on the left wireless, then the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). If you know what it is, set an IP address outside this range but not exceeding 254 (the last number of the address). If you do not know, use the current IP address.
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Let the white gateway and DNS
-Finally, connect the telephone line, restart the router and the test.

If you always reminants of the HP software meant for 10.4, you must uninstall the software by using the "scrubber".  If you have already uninstalled, reinstall from the CD, then:

Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard / click Uninstall HP
    Click on continue
Highlight your device in the left pane
Hold down the Ctrl and Opt Cmd and click on uninstall< scrubber="">
There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall all hp software. (At this point, if you continue, all HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)
Click on continue and let it finish

    Restart your Mac

    Now run a software update.

Finally, download and install the "Full Featured" driver and software from the "Support & drivers" link at the top of this page.
