HP Officejet Pro 8500 a on Mac full install

I have the HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 has more software installed on my HP Pavilion DV7 (wireless connection).  It works very well on all the features, including the scan and e-Print.

I recently bought a MacBook Pro with OS X 10.9.2 Maverick.  If found the HP printer without my nothing to do and I can print from it without any problem.

I want to install the update of the driver to make it me scan to it for the Mac.  However when I look on the net, everything seems to be able to find is the update for the e-print, I have already installed.

Can anyone help?

Hi there obxperson99,

I read your discussions and messages on your concern with the digitization of the Mavericks.

Even if you have been informed that no full functionality driver and the software is available for your 8500 has more and 10.9, there may be a work around options for you can scan. See the link below for details.

How to perform a scan: OS X v10.9 - click on "Scan without HP software" and you will see 3 methods to choose from.

I hope this helps!

  • HP officejet pro 8500 a909g driver for mac 10.10.3

    Hello

I am not able to scan/print through HP officejet pro 8500 a909g 10.10.3 Mac.

I think because of no proper drivers, scanning/printing does not work.

    What should do?

    Hi @pan1490,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you cannot print or scan with your HP Officejet Pro 8500 a909g on Mac OS X 10.10.3 Yosemite to. And I'm happy to see it for you!

To verify that your printer hardware is functional, you are able to make copies of the scanner glass? Copy of a multi-page Original.

If you are able to copy, then I recommend to install this driver, HP v3.1 for OS X printer drivers, which is the only driver I know for this printer on Mac OS X 10.10.3 available. Please see this post, Re: iMac OS X 10.9.3 scan driver for HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 a A910a to iMac doesn't seem to be, by my colleague @Sunshyn2005. How to scan without HP on Mac software.

Hope this solves your problem and have a nice day!

  • Network scanning multi-page Officejet Pro 8500 a w/o ADF (Vista and HP Print software)

Without using the ADF on the 8500 has, can I scan multiple pages in a PDF file if the scans are done from the PC? How?

My version of Vista is 6.0.6002 Service Pack 2 Build 6002.

My HP Officejet Pro 8500 has e-all-in-one printer - A910a is the standard model, for example, the premium product of mid-range. It is connected by LAN cable. It scans, prints and can provide the status of ink level.

The 8500 is connected via the network, and on a Vista PC, I use a desktop icon to launch "HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910.exe". The new software is very different from the [Photosmart c6150 dead] [uninstalled] old HP Solution Center, and I looked in the new textbooks at least briefly, so I hope someone can same thing me some time with a basic question/issues scan. My research forum has failed, but if someone has a link to a relevant thread, that would be appreciated.

Without using the ADF on the 8500 has, can I scan multiple pages in a PDF file if the scans are done from the PC? How?

I also tried scanning browser based and there is a drop down for sweeping on both sides, but the drop down menu is not activated and cannot be used.

I only went through the configuration of the network folder, which may be necessary to get the ability I want. On this subject, I wonder if I set up a folder for all users, or just for my login.

    Thanks for any help!

    Success?

Well, I created a folder network and was then able to scan to a PDF file of several page without using the ADF (ADF) documents.  To do this, (1) install the software provided with the Officeject Pro 8500 has, (2) the installation program a network folderand (3) run the scan of the touch screen located on the Officejet Pro 8500 has.

    (1) install the software supplied on CD (or probably downloaded from somewhere near here). You may be able to work with only the web browser interface, but I wasn't before install the software provided on the CD, and I suspect that some software is required on the PC.

Install the downloaded software or the software provided on the CD-ROM titled

    HP OFFICEJET PRO 8500

    A910

    (2) Setup a network folder. The installation of the software created a few new icons on my Vista PC.  Double-click the icon of the desktop titled "HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910". On my Vista PC, it runs,

    "C:\Program HP HP Officejet Pro 8500 Officejet Pro 8500 A910.exe A910\Bin\HP"

An application window should appear. Mine has a title, "HP Officejet Pro 8500 A910 (network).

The application window has a section of Scanner Applications on the left. From there, the scanner to the network folder Wizard. Which can be done by double clicking on the 'scan to network folder Wizard"or by the first double clicking on"Scanner Actions"and on the screen that appears, click on"Scan to network folder Wizard.  Otherwise, you can get this done through the web browser, if you know the URL for your device's built-in web server. Because I use my DHCP router (to allocate IP addresses in my local network), I currently access the 8500 a of http://192.168.1.19/. From there on, I can access the Scan tab, and I can access the ability to "Setting up the network folder" on the left.

Using the scan to network folder Wizard, I clicked on New and used the Browse button to select "C:\Users\Gordon\Documents\My Scans" to set up a folder named "Gandalf Gordon". The next page of the wizard, it will take your network password (or local password if he is counting on the local PC) required to access the PC where the path "C:\". "sailed above is located. When I clicked on finish, the wizard opens a web browser which indicated a certificate error. I chose to continue to the site, which turns out to be the web server integrated in the 8500 has. So now you know a URL where your built-in web server on your network if you were already uncertain. If you do this URL a favorite browser, the favorite should work even if the IP address of the 8500 a is changed in the future.

Display (3) initiated a sweep of the touchscreen located on the Officejet Pro 8500 a. tap the icon "Scan." Tap the 'network '. Select the network folder. Place a page to scan on the glass of the scanner without using the automatic document feeder. Press 'Start Scan '. When the touch screen prompts, "Page another Scan", select 'Yes', place another page on the scanner glass and click, 'Start scan '. When the last page is analyzed, answer 'No' to the prompt "scan another Page.

Note: When loading pages additional manually, you have to work a little faster or unit will then expire and close the file with as many pages that you managed to scan. I did three pages as a test.

If there's a better solution out there, please share!

  • Upgrade of wired wireless Officejet Pro 8500 series A909a

Can I put my Officejet Pro 8500 A909a to wireless by installing the 802.11 card?

No, I don't think there is such a thing as a card for the 8500 802.11 (or any consumer HP printer I know).

That said, you can connect the printer to your router with an Ethernet cable for the same functionality.

Solution Center works very well from the XP computer. On the Windows 7 computer, I just downloaded and installed the latest version of the software from the HP website. I can print to it and he ping the computer 7, but the center of Solution does not work. When I try to open the solution Center, I get the following error message: "HP Solution Center cannot work because your installation of the device is not complete." I have downloaded and run HP Print and Scan doctor, and we found no problem. I hope someone can help. Thank you.

but for my HP Officejet Pro 8500

    Thanks for the support

I read people talking about pushing the book button and the button nine as they plug the unit back in... I'm confused because my 8500 has isn't ONE of these buttons, unless there is a hidden pannel I don't know.

My printer refuses to print any of the computers on the network. You turn off, turning on and maybe he'll print for a few minutes, maybe not.

I also left unplugged overnight and it was always the same questions. Today I did a software factory reset, then reconnected to the wireless network.

Any suggestions appreciated because I'm SUPER irritated with this device.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 a: 8500 a plug the USB to the PC and wireless for Mac

Our Officejet Pro 8500 a is connected via USB to our HP Pavilion running Windows 7. This connection works well. However, I tried to connect my iMac (OS 10.10.2) to the wireless printer with no success. If I disconnect the USB from the PC, I can connect wirelessly from my Mac. My question is: the Officejet Pro 8500 a does support multiple types of connections - one by USB and the other by wireless? If so, then I would appreciate help to understand why my Mac is not the 8500.

Other details: our wireless router is Apple Airport Extreme. The wireless connection on the printer seems to work (I can print the details of this connection). However, when I try to add the 8500 to the Mac by using add printer, the printer does not appear. (The printer is lit and shows five bars of signal strength, SSID is correct and a valid IP address).

My Mac is connected to the wireless network.

    Any suggestions?

I was able to solve the problem of the printer with ethernet connection to the router that provides network wireless for PC and Mac. Now two machines are able to access the printer with no problems. By connecting with an ethernet cable, connect the printer wireless has been disabled. It had to be done because the wireless radio had become unreliable. The idea was that the blue wireless light never came. Thus by connecting wired LAN, all problems are gone. • OfficeJet Pro 8500 909 a will not be re - install Mac 10.7.5

I am very frustrated with this issue, I'll have. Here are the bullets:

    • Running Mac 10.7.5 (Lion).  Printer is connected to this computer through the USB port.
    • Has started to receive messages on my all-in-one HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 909 a scanning would work not and check the documentation for the aid.
    • While looking online and through some troubleshooting, I deleted my print printer to attempt to reinstall fees.

The main problem I encounter is that I can't seem to re - install this printer no matter what I try.  Here's what I tried...

    • Tried to launch the HP (ver 2.3.15) CONFIGURATION UTILITY and DEVICE MANAGER HP (1.5.8) that was installed on this machine for the printer.  When going through the Setup utility, my device is not seen, so it is considered for a screen and then I invited me with a message that says that my device is not supported by the installer and I had to go to hp.com/support for more help.
    • When I go through SYS PREF > PRINT & FAX and try to click on the '+' to add a PRINTER, the printer never shows in the choice of 'default' as being same / connected.
    • When I go to find help on the support site, the indications only can I find tell me I should use for the Lion, update the Apple software to download the latest update (which I'm sure has already downloaded on this machine in the past).  Tried to restart my Mac, reboot and disconnect all the wires between the printer and Mac, to see if it would work the update of software this printer is connected.
    • I scoured the HP website to try to find the "utility installation hp for lion" install file, but it doesn't seem to be available as a manual download - each direction pointing right back on software updater.

It is where I am at-I feel like I'm stuck in this small black hole where I can't use the HP Installer on this machine b/c it is too old and I can't download something 'new' of Apple Software Updater.  I did go to the Apple website and download the drivers for Mac OS x Mountain Lion & Lion. I have installed for this machine, restart and still nothing that shows this as a connected USB printer.

    Help, please.

I have not had any problems using the printer or scanner on the HP Officejet Pro 8500 has more when I had my old laptop to Windows 7. There was some HP software installed from a CD that allowed me to open the HP application and adjust the settings for scans, save multiple scans in a single PDF etc...

Since switching to a new Mac OSX desktop computer, I can't install it whatever that either the old CD from my Mac has no CD/DVD drive. The only application of HP on my Mac is now HP ePrint, and which does not seem to offer something to scan with.

The other option that have left me is to connect the Mac to the printer by USB, then choose:

If you are using Snow Leopard or Lion and you have the HP software before Snow Leopard (either from a CD not marked as compatible with 10.6 or you recently upgraded to Snow Leopard or Lion and had the software HP on your Mac before you upgrade - even if you made a standard from the old software uninstaller or installed new software on top of it) , you must uninstall the software by using the "scrubber":

Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard / click Uninstall HP
    Click on continue
Highlight your device in the left pane
    Press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Cmd keys on the keyboard at the same time as you click on uninstall< this="" is="" the="" scrubber="" option,="" there="" is="" no="" button="" labeled="">
There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall all hp software. (At this point, if you continue, all HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)
Click on continue and let it finish

    Restart your Mac

    Download and install this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907

    Now reset the printing system:

    -Sys Prefs, Print & Fax
-Right (control) click inside the box that lists your printers and select Reset Printing System.

    Kind regards

    Hello Sabrina,

    Welcome to the HP Forums.

I see that you need the software and drivers for your printer on the Mac 10.10 operating system.

The reason why you are not able to locate is simple because they are not available at this time.

I have a suggestion that you can try.  Please click on the following link for HP v3.0 for OS X printer drivers.

This driver will give you the possibility to print from your Mac.  You can use the scan to Apple for any analysis software that is already on the Mac.

I hope this information is useful and if you have any other questions, do not hesitate to ask.

    See you soon,.
