  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 a909g wireless connection problem

I have a printer wireless OfficeJet Pro 8500 a909g.  My PC is Windows 7 (64-bit).  Recently, the printer wasn't working reliably and we took to reboot our router frequently at the same time.  Router problems seem to be solved because my PC at home and the work laptop are well connected and running.  However, the printer would not work last night when I really needed.  The documents would appear in the queue, but never reach the printer.  Today, I uninstalled all the software of HP using the CD of origin and reinstalled all the latest software and drivers from hp.com.  Of course, I rebooted the printer several times during this process.  Using the Network Wizard wireless via the screen of the printer, I am able to locate my SSID and enter the WPA key.  The printer confirms that it is connected to the network.

If my computer and printer are both connected to the same network why can't the HP software locate the printer?  Whenever I try to run the installation/Setup program it tells me that there is no HP printer on the network.  As I said, this printer has worked on this wireless network in the past.  I also downloaded and run the scan HP and difficulty of the program to see if she could solve the problem without success.

    Any other suggestions?

Well, what I'm going to make you, it's just a basic uninstall and reinstall the printer. I'll describe the steps and you are right, we can use the USB > wireless Assistant. You can access that by running the software after the installation of the USB. Here are my steps...

First of all, if you use a USB cable, be sure to remove it. Do not plug it in again until the software instructs you. Through devices and printers, programs and features and issues Device Manager and make sure that all copies, files, and programs related to the printer are removed. As indicated, and then restart the computer.

The START menu type "%temp%" and press on ENTER. Here, I want you to press Ctrl+A and press on REMOVE. Some files you cannot delete them, ignore these files and delete the majority that allows it to.

Follow this link to download full feature software and drivers of the printer:

    Hi RatChat007,

Please make sure that you only use the link in my previous post and not any other source, it is a newer version of the software that should solve the problem.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 use on network home

We just installed a HP 8500 at home, connected by ethernet to our router.

My wife has an HP 8500 (also just installed) at his office.  His has been installed as a connected USB design.

My wife's computer can access our local home network.

Is it possible that the computer can access, for example to print files, through our LAN House other than copying the files to an another legacy and printing from there?

OK, I'm not sure it'll work without Admin rights.  Here's how:

Firstly, right click on the printer that is already installed with USB (in the control panel > printers) and rename it to something like "8500 USB.

Print a test network or wireless from the printer control panel: Setup > network area.   Note the IP address of the printer

Verify that you can access the printer's internal web page by typing its IP address in the browser address bar.

    1. click on the 'Start' button--> printers and fax machines.
    2. under print jobs, click on "add a printer".
    3. click on 'Next' on the Add Printer Wizard window.
    4. Select "local printer attached to this computer. Deselect "automatically detect and install my Plug and play printer." Click "next".
5 under, select a Printer Port option, select "Create a new port" and choose "Standard TCP/IP Port" and click "Next".
    6. in the "Welcome to the Add Standard TCP/IP printer port Wizard" make sure that the printer is turned on and connected to the same network that your computer is connected to. click on the button "next".
    7. under "Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port" enter the IP address of the printer. Click 'Next' and then click 'Finish '.
    8. now select HP in the manufacturers list, select your printer in the list of the models of printers and click the button "next".
    9. If you can't find your printer, you will need to find the installation CD and use the 'Disc' option to select one of the files hp*.ini. You can also select another model of the same type HP printer.
    10. Add the name of print spooler, and then click "next".
    11. click on "next".
    12. click on "Next" and "Finish."

Finally, you can rename the new network printer as you did the USB one.

    Hello

It seems that the name of the computer doesn't really work in this scenario.

I used the IP address instead (you can find your Mac IP in the network system preferences pane) and everything worked.

In addition, you don't have to write the full local path to your shared folder, such as/Users/JAWA /...

Just write the name of the file just after the IP address.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909G wireless

I recently started having a pale line on copies using the ADF. The line aligns with one of the rollers. In the past with different printers, the small glass Strip under the doc need to clean the ADF. The manual for this printer displays a different feeder than on the printer and I couldn't access this glass Strip where I suspect that the problem may be. The line does not appear when I print from the computer or when I make a copy with the original on the flat, only when using the document feeder. I cleaned everything that I have access to but does not reach the band of glass under the automatic charger. It started after that I had to change my black ink cartridge (#940xl). The printer is two years and has been in a box with the document feeder already attached.

    Hi genedoms,

See the document below. If you have the scanner that has an inch 1 scan glass next to the main scanner glass, then you will want to clean the piece of 1-inch glass. If you do not have the thumb 1 scan glass then you need to open the main scanner, and then you can lift on the feeding mechanism that then gives you access to the glass for the ADF. I would like to know if you are able to get cleaned up glass?

  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 Wireless: Recording of my printer

I am trying to install my printer Hp Officejet Pro 8500 A909g Wireless - towards the end. The automated process directed me register my product. Despite the fact that during the process that my printer has been identified correctly, trying to "choose your product" registration - this particular model is not not to be found. There are other printers A909 - but not the A909g - that is the wireless. Because I'm not able to continue the registration - automated installation just keep running the message "installation."

Any ideas how to overcome that?

I managed to understand the bug in the system:
At the beginning of the installation process, it asks you "How do you connect to this device. If you answer 'USB' I have to do - you don't get to choose a printer model that can be used also by WiFi. When I started the beginning and chose the 'WiFi' or network then only will be the "WiFi" - as the A909g - models appear also on the selection of the devices list.
I hope that guys in HP will fix one day. After all, the 'main' desktop PC can connect to the device by USB, while other devices in WiFi.
Thanks a lot for your response however.
    I was almost desperate.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 first stopped scanning

My Officejet Pro 8500 has stopped scanning.  The message window says it is not connected to the network.

I changed my DSL provided by the local cable company to ATT U verse a few months ago, but the problem does not seem to be related to this change.  I say this because when I ran the diagnostics, the printed page says that my problem is "the wireless radio does not work. Contact HP support. »

HP support offered advice tech for $29) warranty, or sell me a new all-in-one.

The wireless radio can be fixed? Is it a software problem.  I have to buy a new all-in-one?

    Hello JessicaD,

I see that you have a problem with the wireless radio fails on your Officejet 8500. To inform you in this regard, if the radio has failed, it is not a replaceable part by customer, but I'll try to help you with the problem.

Start as a result of this document: printer does not maintain the wireless connection.
With this document, I would like to track:
    (1) restore your default settings of network on the printer.
Go to setup (can be a wrench), network, and then restore the default settings of the network. After that the power on the printer.

    (2) turn off the wireless radio.
Go to Configuration > network > wireless radio, you must have the option to turn it off.

    (3) hard reset of the printer.
While the printer power cable for 30 seconds, while the cable is unplugged, press and hold the power button for 15 seconds. It's draining the printer of all power. Reconnect the cable.

    (4) turn on the wireless radio and reconnect.
Go to Configuration > network > wireless radio - on. Then, go to Configuration > network > wireless are running the configuration wizard.

If it was not successful in entering you connected to the network and or print wireless. You still have another option with the printer to try before replacing.
If you have an Ethernet cable, you can set a wired network connection. Plug the Ethernet (cat5 cable) cable into the printer and the router. It will be assigned the printer a new IP, which means that you will need to add the printer to the computer. This will still allow the printer on the network and communicate with a wireless device.

Please try all above and I would like to know how everything goes. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums.

    Hi @teebone22,.

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I read your thread on your printer HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909a and get the error B87126D0.

Plug the power supply directly to a wall outlet works. Do not plug it into a power strip, surge arrester, or secondary power source. Like that might be the cause of the error.

Here is a link to the HP print and Scan doctor. HP print and Scan Doctor performs a check of your system and check the firmware of the printer.

Here is a document on the error codes and their meanings. First Solution: reset the product

  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 will reinstall not connection

Hello!  I'm terribly frustrated and don't know what to do next.  I have a printer all-in-one HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909g wireless that is about 3 years old.  Recently, I replaced my laptop for a HP running on Windows 7 64 bit.  Easily, I installed this printer on the phone two months ago and had no problems.  However, over the weekend, while on vacation, I tried to install another printer hp (5510).  I had the disc, followed instructions, etc.  But the printer would not work... period.  I ended up uninstalling.  But for some reason, try to install this printer screwed up of all impressions.  It's a different story, but I finally got my Adobe PDF printer works again.

Back to today... I'm trying to print something and realize my 8500 printer is listed under "Devices and printers" and all programs are installed, but it will not be printed.  It shows no communication with the printer.  I am sure that he had to do to try to install the 5510.  After hours of troubleshooting, I finally uninstall the 8500 and try to reinstall.  (Remember, it worked fine before this past weekend!)  I downloaded from HP site because my installion CD does not support Windows 7.  For some reason, all the drivers will not download.  I tried FOUR TIMES.  I ran troubleshooting, diagnosis... you name it.  The printer appear in the programs, but not the devices and printers.

I have connected the printer via USB directly to my computer and it has yet to install correctly.  Wired and wireless configurations show no connection to the printer.

I'm not an expert, but can generally understand things.  I installed this printer even on three different computers all current to run Windows 7 and have never had a problem.  Help, please!

Curiously, I did this throughout this process today, and it could find the drivers of 4 numbers.  Being extremely frustrated, I decided to restore to a point before that I tried to install this second printer (which I am certain is the root of all my troubles).  By some miracle, it's what needed!  Everything works now.  Thank you once again, Shane, for all your help and patience.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 a: printer no longer works after reset wireless network

OfficeJet Pro 8500 has, MacBook Pro, running the Mavericks.

For 3 days, when we added a password and blocked our router wireless (modem ATT UVerse), our printer is "offline" print jobs queued, but do not print.  When I go and check it says "printer offline".  Or in the print queue, it is something like "looking for printer."

He worked briefly when we found a power cord and plugged into the laptop, but will not work wireless, which he did before.    No changes except to repeat password for the network.

I have the manual and you have turned off everything, then return in the order recommended (router, printer, then laptop).  Always offline.   Can someone please?   Thank you!

    Hello @LindaGrace,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that since to add a password to your wireless router your HP Officejet Pro 8500 has e-All-in-One Printer not communicate wirelessly with your computer Mac OS X 10.9. I would like to help you today with this problem of wireless communication.

Now, make a change to your network, as an addition to a password or change a password, translates into having to reconfigure your printer on the wireless network. At this point your printer is to be 'blocked' access to your network wireless because of the change you made. To correct this problem, you simply raise the Setup wireless for your printer to "say" the printer network name and password. Once the wireless installation runs successfully all will continue to work for you according to the normal.

To run the Wireless Setup Wizard on your printer, please follow the steps below.

    1. On the touch screen of the printer, press the right arrow key () to display the second navigation screen.
    2. Press network () to open the network Menu.
    3. Touch Wireless.
    4. Press the Wireless Setup Wizard, and then press continue.
    5. Please wait while the printer is looking for the routers that are nearby. Appears in the menu Select Network (SSID) .
    6. Scroll the list of network names until you find the name of your network.
    7. Tap the name of your network.
    8. If you are prompted, enter the WEP or WPA key. This is the password for your wireless network. The password is case-sensitive.
    9. Wait for the printer to connect to the network

    -Source

Once your printer is connected to your network again, please try to print. If printing still fails, you need to add the printer to your Mac because of the connection of network new printers. Please follow the steps below to add the printer to the Mac.

    1. click on the menu of Apple , then Preferences System.

    2. click on Print & Scanand then check if the name of your printer appears in the printer list.

    3. If your printer is already listed, remove and re-add the printer to check the communication with the Mac. Click on the name of your printer, click the minus sign (), and then delete the printer

    4. click on the plus sign (), click Add a printer or a Scanner, click the name of your printer

    5. click Add to add the printer to the list.

Now that the printer is properly configured on your network and added to the Mac, please try again to print wireless.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. Good luck!
