My dv6 became very slow. I am running Windows 10 and now it takes 15-20 minutes to wake him up from his sleep and connect. Ive done a lot of cleanup and optimization, but nothing got better on that. It get very hot very quickly and the fan always seems to be at the top. I'm looking to try to upgrade the memory and perhaps the (quad-core) processor at least if possible, to see if the performance is going to do better. I can hardly do anything on this issue now because it takes too long! I have a 1 TB of HDD installed there a few years and who works well, but everyday navigation, products microsoft office and editing photo/video light from time to time are almost impossible! What memory and processors are compatible with my device that I could look in the upgrade? Any help is greatly appreciated! I'm new to upgrades of memory and others so I had a bit of a problem of the research/understand exactly what I would like to search! I will post the form below!

You have a model dv6-3155dx. Here are your specs:

    http://h20564.www2.HP.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docid=emr_na-c02548013

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

See p. 23. Your laptop has the CPU i3 - 370 M and UMA (Intel HD) video so, unfortunately, the processor is not extensible because it is soldered to the motherboard. Put video updated would also require the replacement of the motherboard. CPU upgrades are very difficult and rarely justify financially, in any case, but in your case is not possible at all unless you replace the motherboard, which is even more expensive and less be justified financially. The cost of high end motherboard and CPU and work, you might as well buy a new laptop.

But all is not lost. The best upgrade, you can do is to install an SSD. You can also switch to 8 GB of RAM. An upgrade will be useful, together, they would be a game-changer.

You would need 2 x 4 GB modules specified thus:

    Memory module (DDR3 PC3 - 10600 1333 MHz) - 4096 MB 599092-001

    https://www.Amazon.com/HP-VH641AT-4-GB-DDR3-PC3-10600/DP/B0030L3B8E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8 & qid = 1472066313 & SR = 8-1 & Keywords = 599092-001

This model is very, very picky about the memory and it must have 8 black blocks on the side, not 4. Also very intolerant of memory not specified in general. Remember that I bound will work. 'How to' on the manual p.60.

SSDS are a little harder to choose (as many options) and what I need to know is your budget. I recommend at least a concert 500 class SSD and which will cost $120-160. Since you have 10 Windows, it would be easy to download the Microsoft recovery media directly and simply reinstall, then find the drivers and applications and migrate the data. The installation will be ignited automatically the first time that the computer is connected to the internet. You can also clone the existing content of the new SSD hard drive, but I do not recommend with a facility that is malfunctioning.

We also probably discuss blowing dust and verification of thermal management in general. A laptop that suddenly becomes very slow, as you describe may have a hard drive problem, too. You need to run diagnostics on the hard drive and also just to check to see if it is full. Drops of performance as a rock if the hard disk reaches 90 percent and more capacity.

  • Integrated with HP Pavilion dv9715nr notebook PC webcam problem

    Hello everyone,

I hope someone can help point me in the direction of a fix of webcam for the problem that my laptop has developed. I spent the last few days browsing the internet looking for a solution to what seems to be a widespread problem, but with no satisfactory solution.

    The problem:

A few days ago my integrated webcam works with Youcam and other applications of webcam with the message 'not found webcam' or 'Please turn on integrated webcam. Dutifully, I went to the device manage and felt that there was no imaging device listed.

    Related problems:

In addition to this problem, I sometimes get an installation of an unknown USB device. This device is, I'm sure that the webcam, but try as I might I cannot point to the drivers of webcam or update its driver to something other than the best driver that is already.

    What I've tried so far:

-Reinstall the drivers from the HP website. None of the many different types of pilot managed to bring the webcam life or showing in imaging devices.

-Follow-up guide HP for the problems of webcam that ends up pushing me towards contacting HP help desk. Which, I imagine, will cost you a lot more money than the I have no money.

-Uninstall all usb devices and reinstall using scan for the hardware changes. This has, once or twice, brought back the web cam and imaging device and worked for a while. However, before I can update its drivers computer freezes and turns itself off.

    -Flashed the bios. No change.

-Downloaded the drivers from various other cam as suggested in the huge amount of bugs, there are online for this problem. Unfortunately, none of them worked.

-Recovery plant recovery drive. The webcam is still missing in the imagery of the Device Manager section.

    Technical specifications:

    HP Pavilion dv9715nr notebook PC

    Vista 32 bit premium - service Pack2

AMD Turion Mobile Technology TL-60 2.00 GHz Dual Processor

    1.94 GB OF RAM

    BIOS F.33, 3.09 M

Webcam integrated into the lid of the laptop.

    Demand:

If I understand the large amount of online discussion on what is a common problem and I hope that, among the pages and pages of bugs I looked, I missed a fix somewhere.

If you have had and solved the problem, or if you have an idea how to sort it out, I'd love to hear from you.

    Hello again,

First of all, let me thank the support forum HP for all their advice and now down to business.

After a week of problems webcam and extensive research on the internet for a fix for the problem that I finally managed to get my webcam - however, I'm not sure how I did it.

Below is a step by step guide.

Now, I know that's not exactly the most empirical of bugs, however, it worked for me. From what I remember last night, the key points seem to be the following. If I insist I was very drunk and I tried almost every difficulty in the two websites above. (The bullet points below are not related)

    • Installation of a very old version of Quickplay.
    • Install the drivers from the DPinstall32.exe.
    • Get a webcam driver update Ricoh are displayed in windows update.
    • Go to Panel configuration/program and using change to the webcam repair and modification.
    • Play with the Services Windows Image acquisition.

There was, no doubt, many other things I've done and, quite frankly, I am surprised that I did not kill my laptop I did most of them at the same time. However, the webcam is back and running so I recommend drunken stupidity and perseverance as key elements of this fix.

Finally, somewhere in the two threads I linked will be your fix. There are a lot of different patches so keep and you can do with one of them.

Good luck. Mines a pint of the black stuff.

That's why I'm here and ask for your help. I'm not a computer person and have no idea on what is NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150. The message means that I have no hope of getting Windows 10 unless you consider a new PC?  Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the Forum from HP Support.

Officially, your model does NOT support Windows 10 and there are no drivers for Windows 10

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-TX2000-entertainment-notebook-PC-series/3650975/model/3658347

It's a bit old for Windows 10, it was factory well before Windows 10 came to settle. In fact, Windows 10 has been designed not even when this model was released.

I would recommend that you do not upgrade this model to Windows.

If you plan to stay on the 8.1 Windows, it will be supported until 2023.

If you plan to go back to Vista, it will rely on Microsoft until April 2017.

There is a tiny chance to install Windows 10 by performing a clean install using the ISO method:

    https://www.Microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/Windows10

    http://www.howtogeek.com/197559/how-to-install-Windows-10-on-your-PC/

After installation (if it fits) she can use a compatible driver for the video card and others. However, I do not recommend this and I would say that you stay with the current OS for this model.

    Hi @2JANI ,.

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook and noisy fans.

I recommend to restore the default BIOS settings. You could restore the BIOS withthis document by selecting the reload the default BIOS settings. I recommend not updating the BIOS because sometimes this causes noisy fans.

    I hope this helps.

  • Radeon AMD in Pavilion dv7 notebook driver problem

I have a pavilion dv7 notebook and for a few months, I had problems with my graphics driver.

It began with a notice that my license was expired, so I went on the AMD website and tried to install the update. I ran dxdiag to find tool that I use an AMD Radeon HD 6620 G graphics card. I could not find my product on the list to manually install the update, so I tried the Downloader tool from amd driver and he had a problem of recognition of my graphics card. I then tried to update with the help of Support HP and that seemed to work for a while.

Yesterday my screen changed the lowest resolution and a notice came it was not recognizing my graphics driver. Yet once, I tried to update manually from the AMD Web site. When this does not work I downloaded the driver AMD Downloader and after installing everything he said is that "your computer does not contain a correct graphics card" and closed the program.

I am lost at this point uterally, and any help would be greatly apreciated.

    WARNING *.

This is NOT official HP customer service and I, like most other people on this forum do not work for HP. It is a forum for users of peer-to-peer supported for class for the HP consumer products. HP maintains no official presence on this forum and it is unlikely that HP will respond in an official capacity. Response of an employee of HP represents his own opinion and not that of HP.

AMD does not support the graphics system from HP to address personalized and won't provide any drivers for it. As a general rule, HP does not provide "routine maintenance" updates and usually only releases updates to fix known problems. You could take the computer to a professional, however they will be able to do anything more than I suggested and maybe even not so much than that.

Product name: HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC, product number: QJ920AV #ABA, Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit Service Pack 1

Hello, I use headphones from Turtle Beach X 12. They are USB headphones that connect both in the port of microhone and another audio port. When I connect everything well, sounds only once through the speakers of my laptop and not the helmet when playing music in Windows Media Player, Youtube, video games, ect.

How can I get the sounds and the voices of other players and myself to pass only through the headphones?

My friend who has the same computer has its own pair of X 12 and it has the same problem.

Acutally, I found the solution! I just had to move some default devices under sound options.

So when I'm done with them, I need them back each time.

    Hey,.

right now im using win 8 in my pc now I want to upgade to win 8.1, what should I backup so that I can update my pc in win 8.1. When I will update it back to win 8.

    Hello

If you are upgrading to Windows 8.1 of Windows 8 and if you refresh, it won't have to Windows 8. Therefore, create a set of recovery disc before do you the upgrade, and then if you do not want to go back to Windows 8, you can then run the system recovery using the floppy disk that you created.

    Hello @srinathkn,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I read your message and understand that you try to use Miracast on your Pavilion dv6 notebook. As noted in your post and Maintenace and Service of Guide, Miracast is not supported by this type of laptop. There are a few third party options that don't use Miracast, more commonly known as transmitter and receiver HDMI systems.

For more information please provide your product model using the link 'find my product'.

Thanks, I look forward to your response with the result.

  • RALink RT5390r 801,1 1 b/g/n 1 x 1 wifi adapter in a Pavilion dv6 notebook works with WiFi on 5 GHz?

The card Ralink RT5390r 801,1 1 b/g/n 1 x 1 wifi in a Pavilion dv6 notebook wireless adapter works with WiFi on 5 GHz? I need to change the network card?

    Hello:

Any card with a bgn suffix is a single 2.4 GHz single band card.

A card with agn or abgn is a dual band.

I doubt you will find a dual band compatible to your laptop wireless card.

The BIOS has a whitelist which hangs in the cards wireless not supported to be installed.

The service manual may indicate a card dual band for your model, but the part number will be probably wrong.

  • AMD Mobility Radeon driver for HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC

Product name: HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC

    Product number: QJ920AV #ABA

    Windows 7 64 bit

I'll try to find the latest official (non-beta) driver for my amd computer graphics card, but it is difficult to find because AMD archive not their drivers to facilitate downloading and their latest drivers are incompatiable with mine.

In addition, the laptop manufacturer, despite saying that I should download drivers of them, does not update their drivers at all, so I have to go to the AMD website to download the latest drivers from there, which I can't do anyway...

So, can anyone link me to the latest driver for mobility non-beta amd for an AMD Mobility Radeon series 6700 map m is compatible with switchable graphics?

Note: The official amd driver check tool does not thereby. Whenever I try to use it, it tells me to use my manufacturer provided to pilots, but those are outdated, so the circle continues.

Provided official HP Windows 7 drivers for your computer can be found on the page of CTO Edition Entertainment Notebook PC drivers HP Pavilion dv6t Quad - b 6, 00. The official drivers only function correctly with graphics switchable HP are those provided by HP. try to use the downloaded drivers directly from Intel or AMD will not work because they do not support changes made by HP.

An option that is very popular with people who want more drivers, is the third-party provider http://leshcatlabs.net/.  -I recommend read you and well understand why driver signature enforcement must be disabled to load these drivers and what risks it may pose. I have a HP Pavilion dv4 Notebook PC for sharing with my little cousin when he plays his games online. The space on the drive (C :) was almost released because of the many games that it has installed. As such, it has deleted the recovery disk (D :). However, now I need to reformat my computer as it is way too slow with all installed games. How can I proceed without a recovery or a recovery CD/DVD disk?

Is it possible for me to buy a CD/DVD somewhere or download entire file recovery on a page online?

Thank you and have a nice day ahead!

    Hello

Thank you to write back, I do apologize to let you Kow that if the unit was purchased in the USA or at the Canada Shipping of CD would be the only country, the only thing I could think is to have the CD delivered to a person in the United States or the Canada that can send the CD in the country that you are. Other than that, I would recommend instead you to get a retail version of the operating system of any local store and install this file on your computer.
