HP pavilion 2006sq g6: 1 TB Hard drive 7200 RPM for g6 2006sq pavilion

Hello

I am planing to buy a new hard drive for my laptop because my current is on alert

I found this one:

HGST Travelstar 7 K 1000 1 TB, SATA-III, 7200 RPM, cache 32 MB, 9.5 mm

http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=9SIA2W02KN0922

and wanted to know if I can use since I read the manual of the laptop, and it indicates that it supports only 5400 RPM hard drives 1 to?

Any 1 to 7200 RPM hard drive will work with my model?

Thank you!

ALex

Hello

Thought the same thing so I decided to take a decision on a viable alternative
WD7500BPKX
I install windows 10 on that as we speak.

Thanks again for the clarification!

  • Info for: mSATA SSD 80 GB and 750 GB hard drive (7200 RPM)

I buy the 14-2160SE Envy Beats Edition and it has a double drive; SSD HARD DRIVE &. I can't find any definitive info on the HP site or on the web. I am familiar with both types of readers, but not both on the same computer. How does it work? What is the purpose? If it switches automatically or pass them? And, especially, it works for the intended use? Although this is my first post, I'm a believer in public forums, so I don't know that I'll be back as soon as I got my desire. Thanks in advance for your help. Sam

The 80 GB SSD can contain the operating system and the 750 GB hard drive will be for storage. SSDS are very (very) fast but expensive, so you can get the speed without the monstrous price advantage by combining a little cheaper SSD with a hard drive for storage. I have a 500 GB SSD and it costs more than $600, but I thought I got a good deal. My laptop takes only a single drive. You have the advantage of being able to use the same laptop 2.

Readers will appear as readers symbolized under "Computer" (Windows Explorer). The SSD will be "C:\ >. Just be sure to move the "My Documents" folder to drive hard (if this has not already been done). Also when you install a new program and it asks the path where you want to install it, put it on the hard drive. In this way, you keep the SSD of McNeil. 80 GB will be plenty as long as you don't try to store large media files.

  • Failure of SATA 1 TB hard drive 7200 RPM

Hello, never posted before, so this is. My i - mac 2010 hardrive failed.

I would like to get a replacement can anyone point me to a reliable source... For a good replacement hardrive if you please. I think also, apparently the hard drive must be SATA II, not III. Those from my local computer store seems to be III SATA, SATA III does not work?

I would be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction. Also, I'm in the United Kingdom. If a British supplier would be great. Thank you very much.

My first suggestion is to make an appointment with the Apple Genius Bar for the service. If you need a Apple Store - find a store - Apple. Check first to see if they can replace the drive for you. Unless you know how to disassemble your iMac and fix, I wouldn't recommend that you try. In regards to a disc, you should look into disk utility to see what is the serial number and the model for the wrong drive, if you can. Good replacements are made by HSGT. You may need a special connector to replace the disk temperature probe or your fan runs at full speed all the time. Looking for more information and tutorials at OWC.

Almost all SATA III drives are compatible with SATA II disk controllers. They will work unless the model States that is not backward compatible.

  • Satellite A210-128: I want to change the 320 GB HARD drive 7200 RPM

    Hallo all

Can someoane help me with this little problem?
    I have a portable satellite A210-128 with a hard drive of 250 G 4200 RPM (* slowest *)... I want to change the hard drive with a hdd 2.5 "Western Digital 320 G 7200 RPM (* speed *).

    Question:
    1. If I buy a disk sata2 hard can I put on my laptop because my A210-128 has a disk sata hard?

2 can I I install vista on this new hard drive on my vista dvd, im asking this because I want to be shor that my recovery dvd * RECOGNIZES THE NEW HARD drive * and I can install a new copy of windows or installing dvd can * only works with disk drives hard toshiba *... ???

    Thank you.

    As to the question;

    (1) I think a SATA2 HARD drive would go because the standard SATA2 is compatible to the bottom. But I assume that the system will operate as a good HDD SATA.

    (2) Yes, you can install vista using the Toshiba Recovery DVD. It shouldn't be a problem with a fresh install

    Good bye

    Hello

According to the information of requirement system of HP, the device is compatible with windows XP.

You are located in the United States? If not, where? Country only just so we can connect you to a source for hard disk and memory.

Page 62 on the hard drive and 66 for the memory.

You must open the door to the memory and see if you have a 4 gig stick or a 2 x 2. If you have 1 x 4, you just need to get another to have 8. If you have 2 x 2, you need get 2 x 4.

You need DDR3-1333 mhz SO-DIMM memory and you need a 2.5 inch width 9.5 mm thick hard SATA. 2 TB disks are not really available on the market. 1 TB is about as big you'll find there.

Post back with your country of residence, and we can connect you to a good online store. If your hard disk does not well at the moment you use the HP Recovery Manager to burn DVDs to put the software on the new recovery disc.

  • What hard drives are compatible for a Satellite L300-1AP?

My HARD drive is somehow broken :( What hard drives are compatible for a Satellite L300-1AP so that I can something eBay?

    Thank you.

    Hello

    Satellite L300 supports SATA HDD!
SATA controller having no physical limit, you should be able to use any HARD drive 2.5 SATA. So, for example, a 500 GB 2.5 SATA 5400 RPM HARD drive should be compatible.

    Welcome them

  • Best hard drive Mac Mini for CC

I get my grandson a Mac Mini to run CC and I would like to comment on the choice of hard drive. It will be a high school sophomore in the fall, taking the Junior trail class multi media and use Photoshop and the Prime Minister a little.

    I'm looking at: Mac Mini

    • 2.3 GHz Quad - Core Intel Core i7
    • 16GB

Now, if you had your choice what drive would you and why. I take into consideration price, speed and scratch on the disc and want to get the best bang for the buck. I am considering the SSD for speed and then perhaps down the road I might add an external for Scratch disk space. I have not use CC but was prepress for many years and has spent a lot of time in Photoshop myself so I know he has a lot to learn and wants to maintain its level of frustration to a minimum. Any thoughts?

1 TB 5400 RPM Serial ATA hard drive,

    1 TB Fusion drive,

    256 GB Solid State Drive

Thank you for your comments :-)

    Ask https://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere/hardware_forum of Premiere Pro

In general... SSD for the OS and all the software... internal 7200 RPM for data files... If external, it must be USB3 or eSata, USB2 not

    It's a Serial ATA-150 record. Can I replace it with a Seagate momentus 7200 RPM disk SATA-150?

    Hello

I put t see why you should t be able to install a 7200 RPM SATA HDD for serious reasons.
The higher speed rotation shouldn't have a bad influence on the use of the laptop

  • HP Pavilion 15 laptop: HARD drive SSD update for HP Pavilion 15 laptop

    Hey there!

I own a HP pavilion 15 notebook PC, [model number: F6C42PA #ACJ]. Currently, it is equipped with a 1 TB SATA HARD drive. I was going to upgrade to SSD. Kindly guide me through the steps and the compatible products. Also is there a simple way to just walk into an authorized service center of thm Center and ask to do the upgrade?

    Thank you

    Here is the Service Manual:

Any form factor of 2.5 in SATA SSD will work and I recommend a Samsung Evo 850.

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16820147372&cm_re=Samsung_850_Evo-_-20-147-372-_-product

There is a link for all sizes available on the page. I recommend that at least a 256 and 500 are quite affordable nowadays.

Where do you live? Country only, please. I heard that HP Service centers will perform memory and SSD upgrades on these 'closed' systems but I don't know where all of them or what they would charge. You should be able to find a competent local computer shop to do. It does not put security at risk, but the warranty is not revoked if the work is done properly, without damage to the laptop.

  • Pavilion p6310y: WD10EZEX hard drive is compatible for the Pavilion p6310y?

    Hello

I'm looking for a replacement of the hard disk of my Pavilion p6310y. I found a hard disk WD10EZEX on Amazon. It has the same features as the WD10EADS came with the pc when I bought it. But with some better features. The WD10EZEX is compatible?

Hi, the active drive WD10EADS is a HARD SATA 2.0, while you are looking in WD10EZEX is a SATA 3.0. However, this should not be a problem since the SATA standard is backward compatible and a SATA 3.0 drive should work on a SATA 2.0 port. The difference in the size of the buffer and the ROTATION speed should not be a problem too, so you should be able to use a WD10EZEX in your system. Be sure to do a good backup of all your data on an external HARD drive before you start to replace your HARD drive. Good luck.

  • Re: Replacement of hard drive / memory level for a Pavilion dv1000

I just got a used dv1000 PC (laptop).  It works and I have the original system for her drives but 60 GB hard drive is a failure.  So I want to replace it with a new one that I get from newegg but I'm not find the documentation useful in the choice of a specific player that is compatible.  It applies to increase the RAM of the current 500K to 1 or 2 GB.

Any recommendations on a new HD and RAM increased?

Also with a new clean HD and an increase in RAM will be this thing then work with (32-bit), Windows 7?  My goal is to be able to use this for basic word processing and surfing the web and the old games that are not compatible with my 64 bit Windows 7 computer.  So W7 is not a must have, it's just smoother and faster to run than XP.  But I really need to replace the HD and add some more RAM.

Ok.  The new RAM has come a little more than a week, installed and works perfectly.  Obtained the hard drive Western Digital 320 and who arrived Thursday or Friday.

Took out the old HD, taken the sleeve out of it, put it on the new and apparently not very well.  Started with and without the XP CD and it could not find the new HD.  Out the new HD for a closer and saw that he could not plug into the Jack of the laptop for her.  PANIC.  Then I remembered the HP manual, there is another piece that I had to remove the old HD; He was there, the small plastic socket adapter.  Plugged into the new HD and it fits and started and let me load up XP from the original CD included with the laptop.

Now, it was time to download updates of 1,000,000 XP.  But no luck, it wouldn't connect to the internet through the LAN cable or wireless no matter how, I tried to set up a new network connection.  After that a few days of market and stop messing around I went and started to search on other forums of HP and by blind chance stumbled upon the one who pointed out that I had to download a bunch of drivers HP specific to the laptop via a computer from work to a flash drive or a CD.  The drivers from the internet no first and then connect to my network home wireless, but not via the LAN cable permitted.  So I let the XP updates, most like that why I exploded and did some useful stuff.  Yesterday when I got time I got all the HP and loaded and installed all drivers and this gave me access LAN network/internet cable at home, without further problems.  Tested both wireless and cable by turning off one and using the other and both found to work really.  HP drivers also made a few other nice improvements in the laptop, especially the graphics performance.

The computer starts rising very fast now too even if the XP it works started out Edition service pack 1.

So now with the computer base and OS upward functions running I want to install the Antivirus & Firewall and then can start loading some software I can not or do not want to put on my regular computer 64-bit.

    Detective Conan, I hope.

  • Seagate Hard Drive Firmware Update for the drive model: ST1000LM024

I have (HP Pavilion dv6-7180se Entertainment Notebook PC). All the drivers for this model installed correctly except the drivers Frimware (Seagate hard drive Firmware Update) and (PLDS Optical Drive Firmware Update). the first one says "this hard drive model is not supported. Model = ST1000LM024"but my hard drive came from the factory, so what is the practice solution to install this driver? images .view of problems:

    This is to seagate:

    and for PLDS:

    Need help. Thank you.

What mean of these messages, is that these "Firmware updates" do not apply to material in your specific computer. The two "Seagate Firmware Updates" are respectively for the hard drives of 250 GB / 320 GB and 500/750 GB hard drives. Your computer comes with a 1 TB hard drive, which is not subject to updates of the firmware. The "PLDS Optical Drive Update" is for another drive to CD/DVD only installed in your computer and also does not apply. There is no further action to take... Do not attempt to install these updates of firmware, because they do not apply to the hardware in your computer.
