HP. Pavilion dv 7 crashes

My dv7 hp.pavillion crashes every time I try to watch a video, I get a black screen and I turn and then restart it, can anyone help please.thanks

Hello

If this problem occurs when streaming video on the internet like Youtube, try the following.

First, download the Flash uninstall utility on the link below and save it to your desktop.

Flash Player Uninstaller.

Once the download is complete, close all browser windows and start the program uninstaller.  Once done, restart the laptop.

Then, download and install Firefox , then using Firefox, download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash. Note: You can deselect the option to include McAfee Security Scan Plus before download.

Close all browser windows before you run the installer of Flash.

Start Firefox and see if the video play Ok in this browser - if they do, close Firefox, open Internet Explorer and click on the same link Adobe Flash above to get a command prompt to install the ActiveX component.  When you're finished, restart Internet Explorer and check again.

If the problem persists, try using Recovery Manager to reinstall your graphics driver (Nvidia, AMD, Intel etc.) - the procedure to use the Recovery Manager to reinstall the drivers and software is detailed in the document in question on the link below.

Recovery Manager - Windows 7

Recovery Manager - Windows Vista

Once finished reinstalling, restart the computer and check again.

Kind regards

  • HP Pavilion 17: HD crashed. New HD installed, Installer put Win 7. Want to win 8.

My laptop is out of warranty and the hard drive crashed. I took it to a third party repair shop and we had to install a new hard drive. The repairman installed Windows 7. When I bought the laptop, he had Windows 8. Now I can't update many of the drivers because the HP Support does not recognize the operating system (since it is registered with HP as having Windows 8).

I just put Windows 8 on my system without having to go back to the repair shop. I have a very hard time getting any help with this. Microsoft technical support was no help at all. I don't think that I would have to pay for another copy of Windows 8, as he was on the machine when I bought it in the first place.

Help, please! All I want is to restore my laptop to the version of the OS that was on it when I bought it.

    Hello Randhir279,

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

I understand that the computer turns off by itself. First of all, I would like to you the steps in this document: the computer unexpectedly restarts (Windows Vista)

If these steps do not work, I would consider reinstalling the operating system. This will solve the problem if it is caused by a software problem. This document contains complete information about markets: view together to recover the operating system or the operating system reinstallation

If this does not work, then the hardware in the computer is defective. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you!

    Hello

    Try the following.

First, shut down the laptop, unplug the power adapter, remove the battery and then hold the Power button for 30 seconds.

Now, plug in the AC adapter without the battery inserted, start Notepad, open windows control panel, open Device Manager, expand the entry for the battery, on the right, click on and compatible Microsoft ACPI control method battery and select Uninstall - do uninstall not something else here.  When the uninstall is complete, shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter, reinsert the battery, plug the AC adapter and start Notepad.  Let windows take over completely for a few minutes and then try to remove the power adapter - the laptop still crashes?

I am running Windows 7 64 bit.  Have all the updates from HP and Windows.  When I look at the MLB or video streaming of the screen will suddenly go black. About 10 seconds later the audio stops and I have to hold the power button to restart the laptop.  It happens with both Firefox and Chrome the most recent browsers (I don't use IE).

Also running Norton 360.  I am using an additional monitor to a second screen.

Doesn't happen all the time, but sometimes 2 or 3 times in an hour.  It happens more often if I watch it in mode full screen while watching a newspaper in a window on the second monitor.

  • My 2 months, Hp pavilion dv6 3131tx crashes / freezes during playback of movies, music or using the internet

Heya, this problem is annoying me a lot since 2 weeks, my new (2 months) pavilion dv6 hangs / freezes on the music, video and all using internet. I tried a lot of things I started with my media players, I use itunes, windows media player and vlc. they all had the same problem, so I don't think that's the problem. My second step was installing all drivers and updates of windows and hp advised me. It took forever because im living in a campus of colleges and the internet is very slow. but finally I managed to download all of them. After a rebooth, I checked if all the drivers and updated when installed. and they where but the problem was still there. My third step would open the BIOS menu and run both hard drive test and he said that there where no problems detected. Then I took a peek at all my settings on my video card, sound card and windows, but could not detect anything. If anyone has a solution, I would be really happy to hear. Thank you

    Hello

Start Notepad and let Windows load completely.  Hold down the Windows key and press R.  For the run box, type msconfig and press ENTER.  In the next window, click the Startup tab, uncheck the box next to each startup item and then click on apply to apply the change.  Reboot the laptop and see if it now works normally - when surfing the internet, keep in known safe sites that your security software is disabled.  If it runs without hooking, reactivate a substantive point to the time (start with your security software), click on apply and restart the computer to see if it still works ok.  Keep doing this until you experience the problem and you will know that the last program that you configured to start with Windows is the origin of the problem of gel.

  • Pavilion 6430f browser crashes, PC slows to a crawl

This system came with 2 320 GB drives, running Vista Home Premium. After that the primary HARD drive failed, I restored the OS on the remaining disk.  Now, after a few minutes of browsing the web, the browser unresponsive, and the system becomes very slow.  I tried to reinstall the operating system, different browsers (IE7 and 8, Opera, Firefox &), & installation of SP2.  Nothing did.  The system must be rebooted to use the browser again, and restart can take 5 to 16 minutes, if it stops.  Task Manager process shows 2 IExplores, but only one of the other browsers and will not close IE.

    Any thoughts?

Try to remove Zone Alarm, reboot, and use it for a few days to see if the system is stable. If so, try another application instead of Zone Alarm Firewall.

  • Spontaneous Pavilion dm4 embellished a key crash

My four-year-old dm4 Pavilion computer spontaneously crashed tonight. He simply went dead sitting idle.

By clicking the start/stop button does not work, and no more than to remove and reinsert the battery. Now here's the twist:

For smiles and giggles, I pressed the power button everything in the re - insert the battery. Here and she came back to life, but for just 30 seconds. Then it dies again.

I repeated several times and the result is the same: the laptop comes back to life for somewhere between 5 and 30 seconds, then dies again.

My best guess is a faulty battery. However, before I take out money on a new battery or take it to the store, I would like to get some feedback from the community.

BTW, the same thing happens regardless of whether the power cord is attached.

At this point, it might be the power adapter, power supply, power button card or the motherboard itself.

The power adapter on the rule, you happen to have another system to use it to verify that it indeed works? If the adapter did not, the battery may not be sufficiently exposed to power only and it would not power off of the AC adapter.

  • HP Pavilion DV6 6120us does not completely close

My HP Pavilion DV6 6120us crashes during stop. Windows looks like it goes through the process of closing and the screen goes black but the border mouse pad remains on and wifi (f12) button goes orange. The only way to close it completely is to hold the power for a few seconds. Once I start it again, it said that Windows was not shut down properly. After a few days ago, now the laptop battery is not detected.

I went into the BIOS and run the embedded memory test and hard drive, but both passed. I haven't done a reinstall of Windows, but the battery problem now I think it could be the motherboard, but I hope that it is something else, because it is out of warranty. I am running Windows 7 family SP1 64-bit edition.

I've seen a few posts on this forum with the same symptoms, but it never seems to be solutions. Any help is appreciated.

    Hello @Rangor and @dottorepcdotcom,.

I'm sorry to hear that you both have the same problem with your HP Pavilion dv6-6120us Entertainment Notebook PC computer to not stop correctly. I have things that you can try before you commit a material error.

First of all, I would like to you follow the steps in the HP Support document: performing a hard reset or forced to reset.

Secondly, I would like to try a stop with ALL USB devices disconnected from your computer.

Thirdly, I would like to allow you to start your computer in Mode safe. You can do so by following the steps in the HP Support document: Windows 7 Safe Mode and once it is completely started to stop him. If it stops correctly we have driver problem and I would like you to use the HP support document: use of the Recovery Manager to restore the software and drivers (Windows 7) to load the original drivers supplied with your computer. Make sure that you start with the Chipset drivers and install ALL the drivers available. DO NOT RUN UPDATES! Now try to shut down your computer. If it still has the issue make sure that you now follow the steps in the HP Support document: using HP Support Assistant (Windows 7) and make sure that ALL the HP and Windows updates are done.

Back, I would like you press F10 at startup and enter your BIOS. Once you are in the BIOS, press F9, which will save and quit with the default values.

Fifth, I want to make sure that your BIOS is up to date. You can check your update of the BIOS on the HP Pavilion dv6-6120us Entertainment Notebook PC Drivers page.

I hope these suggestions help to solve this problem for you. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Windows will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.

Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.

  • Pavillion g7: System Restore ssd

    Hello

I've read several questions regarding the problem that I am facing but nothing exacyly simmilair.

My HD in my Pavilion g7 series crashed in December last and appearantly data is also lost. We have tried everything.

Today a new HD has arrived, a Samsung Evo 250 GB Solid State Drive.

Using the recovery of this recommended HP CD to me I usually managed to format my laptop perfectly.

Now the process seems stuck at 46%.  (after you insert disc 2 to 25%)

I closed it after 30 minutes and taken over the whole of the process since the DVD will not eject.

I tried another number two recovery disk... (since I had 2 of each)

Now he's stuck again, this time on 42%.

I don't know what could be the problem and what is recommended.

I read something on the bios... or maybe that stuck to the partition, but this way, I can not install windows 7 on an SSD.

    Any ideas anyone?

    Thank you in advance!

    LaDhy

    Mista B says:

Restore will not work on a drive smaller than the original.

Seagate is a common portfolio for installation problems too.

Key will work on all the language versions or 32/64 bit & must just be same version such as Home Premium for example.

You will be able to format the drive in the stages of installation.

Google, installing windows 7 as loads of step by step guides.

You can also download a disc/usb minitool partition Wizard bootable version that actually very good preparation of the disc.

    http://www.partitionwizard.com/Partition-Wizard-bootable-CD.html

Recovery media will work with a 160GB SSD at least.

  • Pavilion a6655f crashes

I bought a pavilion of a6655f about a month ago and everything works great... except for the part when it crashes

See, it happens all the time when I run a game in 2D, it's always the same I play and that the screen move then everything crashes, computer stops responding and does nothing at all... also rest on the screen as with the stuff that I looked at, but there are thin vertical lines red all over the screen, and then I have to restart manually by pressing the button for about 5 seconds Once the computer has done this and it turns off, then when I turned it on again, it wouldn't start... He stood just at the initial start of HP screen.

I think it's a display issue or I don't know, my drivers are up to date and my computer, it is in stock, I have not changed anything.

Vista 64, integrated NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430.

After reading several forums on problems like that, I came to the conclusion that the problem is the integrated processor or a card or something else, I read that people has solved that problem by returning the machine and the store replaced a defective MOBO, in any case, it is my conclusion based on what I read also I think it's true because I just upgraded to a HD4670 and it works great, and it is not locked, so that you either, go back and say it is damaged, or upgrade, I would stay there I got rid of the problem already, but I'm too lazy so meh...

  • HP Pavilion dm4: graphics driver Intel & AMD causing Windows Crash

    Hello.

    My laptop is

HP Pavilion dm4-3107tx Beats Edition Entertainment Notebook PC.   I tried to install the graphics drivers from this link:

    http://support.HP.com/ph-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-DM4-3100-beats-Edition-entertainment-not...

but I could not install the graphics card intel. It is said that the cell does not meet the minimum requirements of the graphics driver.

I also tried to install AMD and he did. But every time that I reboot, Windows startup crashes.

I also noticed that results for starting blocked when I recently updated my Windows, including the update for the driver intel which I have not yet installed (because I know that once I did, I do a lot of recovery and repair of the system for the umpteenth time).

And now I feel really stressed out about it because I've been formatted my laptop for the second time, and the last time it was with the release of the pilot intel. I was stuck again started back and I got really tired of him.

I really need help with that.

What I have to install ALL the drivers in the link before installing graphics drivers to ensure that graphics drivers will install?

    Hi @katrinahahaha,

    Thank you for your query.

I understand that you have a problem installing your graphics drivers.  After formatting the drive and installation of the Intel graphics driver, you have a problem starting.  Did you use the Recovery Manager to format and reinstall Windows 7?

You only need to install the driver AMD of the HP driver page because it contains the two pilots.  Please try this process:

    • Uninstall and remove two graphic drivers
    • Restart your laptop
    • Run the HP Support Assistant to help find and install the graphics drivers
    • You can also after the uninstall, remove the driver and restart, download and install just the driver AMD.

    HP Support Assistant

If this problem persists, try removing both drivers and using the Recovery Manager to install the drivers:

Computers HP - using Recovery Manager to restore the software and drivers (Windows 7)

Please let me know the results.
