HP Pavilion dv6-6130tx extremely dark webcam capture

I just bought a brand new HP Pavilion dv6-6130tx of Hong Kong four days ago and I was very happy with him. The quality of the webcam was decent until yesterday when I tried to use the webcam with pre-installed "cyberlink youcam". The capture was dark, even when I checked the ' auto lighting. I searched this forum and the site of HP driver and support for a solution, but there is no driver webcam I can use to re - install. I tried to update the driver for the webcam by 'Device Manager '. I even uninstalled "Cyberlink Youcam" and installed "HP Mediasmart webcam". Everything is dark and not even my face is recognizable, it only shows the intense light. I'm not sure that this is a failure of a software or a hardware failure, but I can't seem to find the root of the problem. I know I can get a replacement with my warranty, but I live in the Philippines and models like this one are difficult to replace. All the other features worked strangely, but I was disappointed by this problem. If you know a solution or advice, please let me know. Thank you.

Fixed!  Open YouCam, click on the image quality button, then click on advanced, then at the top of this window, click the camera control.  Check Auto next to the exhibition.  Fact!

  • Pavilion dv6 problem with webcam and microphone

    Hello
I have a HP Pavilion dv6-6156ea, which is a little more than a month.  It runs Windows 7 Home Premium.
Today, tried to use the webcam and microphone for the first time, a Skype call, but none of them does not seem to work.
The webcam is not displayed in Device Manager, but the microphone is.
When I opened Cyberlink Youcam, it does not recognize that there is an internal webcam.
What should I do to activate the microphone and the cam?

I followed the link below and follow the instructions.  But the webcam is not displayed in Device Manager.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02452221

Because is not find the device, I don't know how to update the drivers.

I don't know how to solve the problem with the microphone.  I don't know if these things are likely to be associated.

    Any help appreciated

    Thank you

Feel a little silly answering myself, but no one responded and I thought it is best to share what I found out.

The webcam was defective, straight out of the box.

And the microphone is connected to these features, but uses a different driver - if your microphone works, it could be a sign that your problem is with the driver for the cam.

I bought the PC world a month ago, so there was although it is very busy.  It was the second faulty webcam in HP they had returned today - most early was a dv7.  There was no problem with replace - they took a glance, considered to be the installation of the drivers on a disc, but when it was not displayed in Device Manager and the microphone works not more, they knew right away.

It really shows control of very poor quality of Hewlett-Packard.  It's a shame that in the first weeks, I was really happy with this model, but realistically, now I know that this is what looks like their QC, when my company needs its next piece I'll go with anything other than HP.

    Hello

    Try the following.

HP now provides a version of Cyberlinks YouCam.  Download the latest installer for it on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    CyberLink YouCam.

Once the download is complete, open windows control panel, open programs and features, make a right click the entry for HP MediaSmart Webcam and select uninstall - when this process is complete, restart the laptop.

When windows rebooted, open your download folder and double-click the installer for Cyberlink YouCam start the installation.  Once this done, see if this application works Ok.

  • Pavilion dv6 Webcam does not?

I have a Pavilion dv6-1030 ca laptop, and since a few weeks, I had trouble with my webcam. When I open the HP MediaSmart Webcam, I get the following error message: "no video device detected. Please connect a video device to your computer. If you are using a built-in camera, please make sure that it is turned on. "I have a built-in camera, and (usually) lights up when the webcam application opens. I am running Windows Vista with SP1 and tried many things to fix it, nothing helps. The webcam does not appear in the device, under imaging devices Manager, nor any of the Hubs USB root. So far I have tried:

-Reinstalled the drivers of USB root hub

-A tried to fix the solution in the BIOS (that another thread suggested)
-A tried to use Recovery Manager to reinstall the driver (wasn't in the list)

-The recovery disks created to solve the problem (it didn't)

    -Updated the MediaSmart Webcam software

I'm at school right now, and I can't really afford to give my phone to obtain compensation for three weeks since I have exams coming. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

Don't pay fees to repair overpriced... it happened to dv6 my boss, lift just the frame surrounding the top and sides.  You don't need a crowbar on the bottom of the frame.  Use your nails under the inside edge of the frame, they have adhesive tape double-sided, so it can be a little difficult to dislodge.  Lift slowly so that the band can separate on its own.  Don't force quickly or you could damage it.  Make sure you are not prying the metal frame silver of the LCD, only the black plastic frame.  There are hooks plastic that will make a click sound when you lift up the frame, it will need a strength, so don't be afraid if you hear the wink, he should be able to put it back together if you did it correctly, otherwise you will need to use some tape to tape the rear frame, better than paying $100 +... haha.  Once you have pryed on the top of the frame and have access to the webcam module, you should see the cable going into it from the bottom, push the cable into the webcam, then see if the problem is resolved, the cable most likely just came loose.  If that solved the problem, I suggest to use something you can remove, as hot glue to hold it together, just in case the webcam really needs to be replaced, you can melt the glue wide and swap out.

If your microphone works very well and just the webcam does not work, then the problem is most likely a driver problem, or the webcam itself somehow has been damaged, which is highly unlikely.

  • Webcam on pavilion dv6 not detected and does not load when Cyberlink YouCam opens

I have a built-in webcam and my HP Pavilion dv6 will now display this message with a yellow triangle "no webcam installed".  How can I fix it?  My HP Pavilion really begins to fail.  CyberLink won't let me update software, because he claims that I don't have the full version. Doesn't have installed HP full version with my laptop?

After talking three times to Support HP technicians, I called a neighbor who has much better solutions. HP had me make a recovery (which ended up being useless and superfluous) and then when they could think of no more options, they said, should I back up all my data and do a full system restore. DO NOT TAKE this action until you have tried the following (my neighbor suggested some better options, including this site), but read the next paragraph to see what I ended up doing this WORK!

    solutions

After reading through the solutions and try a few other webcam software products, my neighbor suggested I uninstall the webcam using the Device Manager screen. Once you uninstall (say Yes if he asks you again if you want to uninstall the webcam material) then turn off your computer.  Wait a bit, turn it on, let warm up again, then look in the Device Manager, devices, imaging and your webcam should be re-discovered by your laptop. Once he reappears (mine did), analyzes material changes and run the driver updates (I don't remember what order I have them, but I have them).  After that, I reinstalled Cyberlink YouCam and POOF, everything worked fine! Skype was the video once again and everyone's happy.

No need to do a system restore or send the laptop to HP.  I only wish that HP has been able to tell me about this fix...

  • HP Envy m6 and HP Pavilion dv6: Bluetooth and Webcam on my two computers

Hi, my name is Frank, how do you!    I posted this elsewhere as well for maximum exposure!  That is why it says that I just discovered your post but anyway: it's here >

I just discovered your post response and I have a similar problem (the reason I'm here looking, Eureka!) so I thought that I would like to take this opportunity to ask, if you allow me to my situation.

I bought my computer a little before 12/25/2012 at BestBuy.

It of a laptop of HP Envy m6 with original 8 Win 64-bit free upgrade to Win 8.1 last year and is about to pass to Win 10 when it was released! Yes!

Operating system: Windows 64-bit upgrade 8.1 soon to be upgraded to win 10 64 bit!

Memory: Two 4 GB Samsung 1600 MHz for 8 GB Total

l would like to know if the PC above was supposed to come with Bluetooth or not? and if not, if I could buy an adapter thru HP? who would do it works through this PC

(I also have another older PC HP laptop Pavilion DV6 with Windows 7 service pack 2 (later) that I would also have Bluetooth adapter)

(This Win 7 PC has broken built in WEBCAM I need to fix at some point, advice on this issue?)

YES, I KNOW I STARTED THIS QUESTION ABOUT BT!   Anyway, I can't get built in webcam wanting to work more, it allows to work so after researching, I probably have to send it to HP (diagnostic research and trial and error to internet) for repair or buy an external (which is undesirable) but anyway:

(if you can shed some light on this topic, I would appreciate it because I'm here asking questions anyway for efficiencies sake!)

Or buy a new computer, haha, I don't really need except for this integrated feature and maybe the touch screen... (I'll probably do that if it is not repairable.)

Sorry for being verbose but I wanted to take this opportunity to get rid of all the problems I've seen all at once and spend so much time in the research and diagnosis and try to troubleshoot and fix my computers instead of just using their...  The computers sometimes can be a waste of time, you know.

I really want to use to be productive not only to maintain so I really appreciate any help I can get on it.

Thanks in advance if you take the time to answer, and if the appropriate solution is provided, I'll be sure you shower with braces and others and you honor as a true expert!

    Bravo. Congratulations to give, hurrah!

Thank you and I'm waiting... (s) to more than 3 numbers!

I bought this external usb bluetooth adapter for my HP desktop computer, and it would work very well any laptop too.

  • HP TrueVision HD webcam does not work on HP Pavilion dv6-6179er Entertainment Notebook PC

Hi, my HP TrueVision HD webcam stopped working a week ago. My laptop is HP Pavilion dv6-6179er Entertainment Notebook PC series. Its model number is QA398EA. Product number: QA398EA #ACB. Operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit Service Pack 1. When the webcam did not work on my Skype I downloaded Youcam, but it does not detect the camera as well. Thus, neither Skype nor Youcam can see the camera on my laptop. When I looked through the Device Manager, it appeared that the imaging devices category had disappeared from the Device Manager list. I tried for portable stop, remove the battery and press the power button for 10 seconds, as has been noted in this web site. However, imaging devices has not appeared. When I click Add legacy hardware (in the Device Manager Action menu) imaging devices appear in the list. However, computer does not detect the TrueVision HD driver, it detects some other driver out of place and combine it with imaging device. Looks like one of the two options: either driver webcam has been removed from the computer or a hardware problem with the camera. Is it possible that I can download driver HP TrueVision HD camera in my computer to see if it is a driver problem or hardware? Appreciate your help in advance. Thank you.

    Rufat

    Hi Sophie,.

The generic Webcam driver is part of the operating system and not available for download. Looks like it's a hardware problem with the Webcam. I would recommend that you ask a local technician or call HP. You can reach HP Total Care at 1-800-474-6836 in North America or Start here if you live outside of North America.

    Thank you

  • Please help - extremely unstable HP Pavilion dv6-2131so

    Hello

I have a hp pavilion dv6-2131so (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02065902 ; except mine currently has a 120 GB HARD drive), who constantly crashes (blue screen) after various time has elapsed.

It has Windows 7 32 bit installed (not by me) and unfortunately, it doesn't have the original hard drive more (so I have no partition recovery or original HP software or drivers). The computer recognizes even built in camera!
It also has huge problem with the .dat files - almost any time, I have download some sort of program (such as 3D Mark) on official site, it gives me errors CRC.   The computer does not recognize battery, or it does not work (the light blinks as he has been in charge, but nothing more).
I already scanned the hard drive (HDTune), and apparently there is no errors in this regard.

Someone suggested reinstall me Windows 7 (and change to 64-bit), but I have no idea if this will help, or if the computer is worth even maintaining/fixing...

    Here are my questions:

1 can reinstall Windows 7 64 bit help?

    2. where can I get software and drivers of HP Pavilion dv6-2131so origin?  (If you can't track down drivers for the exact model, as those who must work?)

    3. what happens with my battery?

I would be extremely grateful for any help! Sorry for all the different questions - I chose that the laptop freezes Council, because it is the main issue... Here is a link to all my minidump files:

    Hi Lirazel...

I'm sorry that you're having problems with your dv6!

It seems that this product has been sold in Sweden... you can find the drivers for it on this page.

I do not see that move to a 64-bit OS will make a difference for you regarding disk errors and blue screens.

The battery may need replacement.  You can see this document for more information.

    I hope this helps!

If a customer brings in his laptop DV6 we replace the hard drive (physical hardware failure on the read/write heads, click of death) and you notice the product key (of course) is rubbed off the label.  In addition, the client wants that pass us 850 Pro Samsung SSD (no problem) as soon as we have the HP recovery media.

So we order the media and go to install it, and the first thing we encounter at 6% is the error: failed to create the CDS. FLG

    * crap *.

    Troubleshooting time:

Tried an external DVD - RW drive to install OS - no dice

Tried a disk WD Black 7200 RPM (new) - No dice

Tried removing the RAM bars, different slot configurations - no dice

Many other hours of troubleshooting resulted with all the same result.  We even recalled HP to verify that they sent the correct discs which they categorically said they did.

So here we are with a laptop that should have only taken an effort of 2 hours and ended up with a happy customer, and now we are nowhere close to a successful outcome.  So I return to the forum of the assistants, geniuses and then the occasional * happy? * HP Support person asking for help.
