HP Pavilion DV9720 on XP - SP3 - material sound does not exist

Well I am fairly certain that this topic has been beaten to death everywhere on the internet and well, I'm sorry to have to do this post but I have to do before giving up finally. Like many before me, I thought downgrading to XP would be a good choice. I learned quickly (after already doing) that this would be quite in the company. I spent 26 hours yesterday get this laptop here where she is now.
I can't say it wasn't worth it however. It works especially well with no hiccups more. But I digress completely.

I made this post because despite all the time spent to get this thing to work, I have a big problem.
IT NOT THERE NO SOUND
And with this issue, there is also no visible way for me to get the operation. I'm not a nerd but I sense enough to understand there can be no way to get the proper functioning.

The first time I installed XP on here, I crossed the drivers and many of them and eventually find a set, that I rescued. But I had a problem with the audio. In devmanager, there is an entry under the sounds, etc. that mentions audio drivers I have installed but I have had no functionality of them. I checked the sound module and sure enough, no audio installed.
Stupidly, I uninstalled them, tried other things and then those who have failed, installed it again. This time, however, there was no entry listed as it was before.

I have seen no progress since. I have wiped clean, reinstalled and did thing pilots since then but the mysterious entry is no longer present. I have no warnings about the lack of drivers, except one of them, I'll make mention of the later since it is not related to this, I think.

Currently, I'm trying a few executables of the post-it on my precarious situation, but I'm not holding my breath. I've never met such a problem before and that's why it boggles me.
You see, I still get that, rather irritating sound that emits a sound when you don't have the audio drivers installed. Yet, in devmanager it shows no audio hardware that is missing drivers. In fact, it shows not hardware audio at all. It's as if he doesn't know that it is, again, when I open my laptop and unplug the speakers shipped, no sound! (duh)
So I do not understand how it can be use the speakers and at the same time, do not know they are there. No driver to find the hardware for that. I can't assign pilots on a device that is not listed.

Now on the other entry of thugs.
The only other thing that is not working properly is a device called "NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller"
It has a (code 10) cannot be started. the device instance ID is:
{1A3E09BE-1E45 - 494 B-9174-D7385B4BBF5} \NVNET_DEV054C\4&25F657C5&0&00
This device is the only other thing that is not working properly. Everything else works like butter on hot glass.

Any help is appreciated. If no solution is found, I'm happy to give it up. This pc is the best thing I've had in my life and him do even start was a 2-year wait.

OH, one last thing, it is that sometimes when I start it up, there is a malfunction usb device. I can't get an instance ID of device for her however. I triple checked and everything I use via the usb port is functional and represented. I don't know what device he could talk. I don't know how I have 7 usb root hubs. In hindsight, it might just be one of the ports does not, because I know that there is a usb port on the side which does not work properly.

Sorry about all the frustration, believe me, I've seen a lot of it on hundreds of XP downgrades made on the forums of HP Enterprise and consumer during the last years 4 and 5. Most of the problems seem to come with XP SP3. Most assume that SP3 will give them a better supported with the drivers, not the case in most of the cases.

If you can start with a fresh install of XP SP2, that would be my approach. Then follow the steps in the XP Guide, part 2. Jonah has also made a guide specific to AMD machines of materials in the XP Guide which covers AMD & Intel. (also for XP SP2)

BTW, the device you mention may be the Nvidia ethernet controller. When you install the Nvidia Chipset, it's when you restart after that (if I remember) where you can select what to install or leave out. Never install any network management tools, like some Sedona.

Regarding MS UAA, look under system devices MS controller Bus UAA for HD Audio (similar wording, not on a XP machine at the moment of check). If it is there, right click and uninstall. Reboot the laptop.

    Hello

If I understand your right all devices listed correctly in the Device Manager and you don t have yellow exclamation points?

Normally, for high definition sound cards, you need two patches from Microsoft:
    KB835221 and KB888111.
Normally, these patches are integrated into SP3 but it works only if you install the audio driver after SP3. So, if you have an older version of XP without SP3, you must update to SP3, all first and then install the display driver.

So in your case, you must delete the current sound driver and restart the laptop. Then use CCleaner to clean the registry and system files. Reboot the laptop. Then download and install the driver of his newest Realtek Hompage.

    Hello:

Then I recommend that you follow the instructions in the guide to the link I posted above.

After you install the MS UAA driver, you may need to install the audio driver updated the posted on this link:

Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221 drivers (ModelC700, Vx5xx series and dvx5xx and ABOVE )

    Pilot modded by silver here

Unzip it to a folder... Use the device, right click "Audio Device on HD" Manager, choose Update driver,
Not to connect, install from a list or specific location,
Select don't search, I will choose the driver to install.
For the hardware Type select 'show all devices '.
Remove control "Show compatible hardware" and click on 'disk '.
Next... Navigate to the unzipped folder and choose the "WiSVHe5.inf".
Ignore XP when he complains, Reboot.

If none of this works, try to reinstall XP and start from scratch. If you do not see your appliance an audio controller if you reinstall XP, then more than likely it is a hardware failure of the audio chip.

I have a Tecra M10 with XP and all the drivers installed, but sound does not work.

I checked the Device Manager and everything is fine, no red cross or whatever it is on the driver realtek audio.

Everything on the sound properties. I even uninstalled and downloaded the audio driver from the toshiba site again but still no sound and no mistake.
    Can someone help out here?

    Thank you.

    Hello!

The sound is turned off on your laptop? With the FN + ESC key combination you can enable/disable it.
    Check it!

In addition to the high definition audio devices you need two patches from Microsoft to go looking for the proper functioning. Have you installed the two?

    See European driver of Toshiba.
Here, you can try to install several drivers of different portable Satellite P100.
    Try all series.
Fact is that some units of the Satellite P100 and Satego P100 series were delivered with the same features.
Therefore, it should be possible to use the unique drivers of these series.

If the sound does not appear on your laptop, you must first check the volume control on the side of the laptop. Turn it up to the max level.
Then check the sound devices and audio in the control panel if any controller is disabled or turned to the lower floor.

Additional connect headphones and check if you can hear something.

By the way: have you installed the correct drivers? On the Toshiba page, you will find two different sets of portable Satellite L30

First check the status of the sound card in Device Manager.
If there is a yellow climbing brand then you should try to reinstall the driver. (first remove it and after reboot, install a new)

  • Satellite L655 - sound does not work on the new install of Windows 7 Pro x 64

    Howdy all,

I bought a Newegg L655-S5111, which was on sale, put an SSD, and then installed a legitimate copy of Windows 7 Professional 64 - bit, I got from my current employer (I'm a computer scientist). I've updated to the latest revision of the BIOS (1.70), and I have all the updates installed Windows, all drivers installed, including the correct drivers Conexant HD Audio and ATI HDMI Audio. Unfortunately, the sound does not work. Sound works briefly during my first install of Windows 7, then I cut it up until I could get it set up with a helmet. When I disabled it, she had stopped working.

This laptop is less than 3 weeks at this point, old and I get no audio on headphones or speakers, even if Windows displays clearly no problems with the drivers, they have the latest version on a new installation, and I can see the audio mixer game. The laptop built-in microphone captures sound as well. I think that's probably not a matter of the physical interconnection, but more likely a software problem, I just have trouble identifying where it is.

I have also no related error message than any where in the case of newspapers.

Can you please do a test and install original recovery image Toshiba, that you got with your laptop on this new SSD, just to see if it will work with the original image.

Recovery image contains all the necessary drivers and OS is perfectly configured so each piece of hardware in your laptop should work correctly.
