HP Pavilion M7470N: Size of CPU fan

Wondering if anyone can tell me the size and the rpm of the CPU for this HP Pavilion M7470N fan?

Here's how to measure: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1716550/measure-fan-size.html

CPU fans are generally 80mm or 92mm square and 25mm thick. The speed of ROTATION can be found using HWMonitor, exe version.  FANIN0 (on my m9200t) is the CPU fan.   You must run this to know the minimum RPM.   Any slower fan appreciation will cause an error and probably trigger a stop.

BTW<> could I know the reason?

Simply with the help of the battery, I checked the CPU fan it is running perfectly alone. but it does not work with the laptop.

I understand that since you had the laptop he had an overheating problem with a loud fan noise that causes freeze it.

Recently, you have received the message that the CPU fan has stopped working and you couldn't hear the rotation of the fan to the top.

You have removed the fan and checked, but the fan works.  It is possible that the connection was not safe in Notepad.

    Hello

Use a can of compressed air to clean any dust from the fans in the PC.  With the side panel, power on the PC and still observe the rotation speed of the fan.  What do you see? slow, medium, or high speed?

  • Pavilion Elite d5000t ATX Desktop cpu fan is bad sound

started making a bad sound yesterday today it was worse, I don't want to burn the CPU can someone help me find a pretty good fan to replace it by I have that $25 I am disable on SSI so I'm on a fixed income HELP Please HP Pavilion Elite d5000t ATX Desktop

    Some added info to consider...

The fan is a separate item. It is mounted on the radiator with screws.  This fan is a 4-wire PWM unit. You need:

    (1) the low fan speed. Use of this program.  The CPU fan is FANIN0

    (2) measure the fan using this guide. Fans are 80 mm, 92mm for typical CPU/heatsink.

    (3) WARNING: If you buy a fan at low speed, the system does not start.

  • Pavilion 423.teleglobe uk replacing the cpu fan

Hi, first post so hope gives enough information.

The CPU fan above radiator has a missing Blade (no idea what happened and not in the case!).  The computer has been used very slow for a few months and this may have a role to play.  I formatted and replaced Windows XP a few times and always very slow.

I tried to get a replacement without success and I was wondering if anyone can help on where to get a new?

    Thanks in advance

    Thanks again.

Hello livingstonc, I'd be a bit wary of this model, because it has only 2 000 rpm and speed to other Coolermaster is 2 500 rpm. This may not provide enough air cooling of the CPU under load.

  • Error: Failure of CPU fan

The original motherboard was not on my Pavilion a6528p. I got fed up with accidents several blue screen whenever I started to use it. Once he ran for a while (an hour or two), he has generally kept running. Worked to try to eliminate the virus/malware (multiple programs found no no), the memory test (used memtest86 +, ran all night without fault), CPU test (Prime95 torture test used, ran all night without fail) decided to try another motherboard. Not able to find a new, so decided to take a chance on a used.

The jury used (so far) has never crashed. It is therefore a good thing. However, every startup I get the message "ERROR: CPU fan failure! Press F2 to continue to start. "I believe that this message is incorrect because I ran Prime95 torture for hours test and the temperature of the Processor reported by CPUID HW Monitor program is around 52 degrees c for each carrot. When I run Prime95 torture test, the temperature of the CPU are much lower, around of 38 degrees C.

The HP support document http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00013522 describes in detail by selecting Hardware Monitor in the Advanced BIOS menu. There is no choice in the latest version of the BIOS, I installed on the HP website, which identifies as BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. 5.43, 10/09/2009.

Because the help document is incorrect and no help, someone has ideas how to eliminate this message CPU Fan has failed, what happens whenever I start the computer?

    JimK Hello,

Not all BIOS versions have the same settings and you're right that your BIOS is not this setting. Looking at what the settings you have (http://goo.gl/1mCvq) there is no parameter, you can change even not to ignore the message.

The motherboard doesn't like not the CPU fan that is currently installed, if the fan is not mounted in quick power enough, do not provide enough cooling, or is simply not sufficiently powered is unknown, nor can it be determined. You can try to unplug the CPU fan and reconnect to ensure a solid connection. Probably, you should be able to say that the CPU fan turns so you can figure out if she has no or not enough quickly.

Your options after that are to
    1. process by pressing F2 at startup to work around the error
    2. try another fan for processor to see if you can get the motherboard like.

  • Desktop HPE-210y noisy CPU fan

I bought my house in 2009.  In recent months, there was a buzz in the chassis.  I thought it was a hard drive failed, so I replaced it, but the noise continued.  In fact, it's the CPU fan.  I cleaned the dust off everything inside, including under the fan heatsink.  The noise continues.  Should I replace it?  It seems to be fixed on the heat underneath sink.  If I do not need to replace it, how to find the right part? When I enter my serial number in the search of part of HP, it lists 30 components. It is said the cooling fan system is 5188-3722 and says that it can be ordered from HP.  It also lists the "heatsink for AMD", 575691-001. It then lists on the fan itself, the STROKE part number.  In another search using a BOM component, I see "Cooler STROKE AMD 125W PCB AVCFAN", Assembly p/n 466715-001.  What exactly should I order? Once I find, I can replace it myself or I have to find someone to do it?  (I replaced the memory and hard drives). Thank you.

I understand that you are looking to replace your radiator and fan system on your desktop HP Pavilion Elite HPE-210y PC. The heat sink is the heatsink and fan assembled between them then (5188-3722) system fan is the fan on the rear part of the housing. According to the noise is coming from will depend on who you are replacing. The system fan is NOT the fan on the heatsink.

I do not think that you should really have a problem replacing the heat sink, just make sure you clean and replace the thermal grease while you're there.

    Hello @Nana2004,

I understand that you get the error CPU fan has failed on your HP Pavilion a6030n desktop PC. I provided you with the HP support document: error: CPU fan failure, who will provide you with steps to try before spending money on a fan that you may not need. In the case where you need to replace the heat sink search number is 5187-5704 and can be found in a Google search.

  • CPU fan run full speed constantly

I bought a Pavilion Elite m9510f liquidation of Circuit City a week and half ago. Big mistake... because I can't look upon return, but anyway. The compters CPU right at full speed, the box fan works all the time. When I call the technical support they had me check the connection of the fan to the motherboard and set power options to save energy. Problem still exists. They had me also pull the video card to be sure it wasn't this fan, but it was not. They tried to tell me that this is normal... No way should the CPU fan spin full speed all the time. I have no patients must remember and discuss with them righ now since I spent 3 hours on tech support Saturday for a new LAN card wireless, sent me. ERRRR.

    Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. I downloaded Speedfan to check my cpu core temp and it all say core 4 times are are hormaux 35 c or lower. So I don't think that I have an overheating problem.

Your pc has 2 BIOS updates. 5.32 5.35 second updated and contains a fix for the problems of your siding.

  • CPU fan replacement

Re: Pavilion 523n (AMD Athlon CPU) purchased 12/2002

    Windows XP 32-bit

Is it necessary to replace the radiator and the fan as a unit when replacing the CPU fan or can I leave the old radiator attached and just replace the fan?

    Farm37, welcome to the forum.

You may be able to replace the fan, however, I would feel personally safe, replace the fan and the heat sink.  This way, you will know they are entirely compatible.  I don't think they are too expensive.
