• Dual graphics card port to use 2 monitors on my HP a6614f

  We have a new HP a6614f and run the 2 monitors. It will be used for text and business, applications do not play.

  Does anyone have a recommendation on what type of graphics card works with this system? The computer has 2 open PCI Express x 16 slots and a 300W power supply.

  If you just need decision-making supported dual monitor, you will not need to upgrade the power supply. It is really only necessary for game cards that does not fit your situation. As for what the card specifically, I can't recommend a specifically because really, you can't go wrong with any of them! I recommend the following guidelines when looking for a card:

  • Make sure that they have double video outputs
  • Look at those $ 100. They work for you.
  • See if they need an extra power connector. Try to go with those who do not have a need. Those who can function in your system, but it depends on the map.
  • Make sure that the resolutions are supported by the card to work for your monitor. Applies if your screen is very high (above 1600 x 1200 or 1920 x 1080) resolution.

• a6614f, card reader will not read

  I'm having a problem with my desktop computers a6614f media card reader. I tried 4 different cards, and it does not recognize one of them. When I go to explore > computer readers do not yet show upward, everything that is here is my C drive, a recovery disc and the drive of dvd., it's as if the card reader does not yet exist.

• HP pavilion a6614f not start

  Recently, I cleaned up my hp Pavilion a6614f. It was super dusty autour and fans and the CPU cooler, so I removed and pulverized dust eater on the radiator.  The CPU has managed to detach glued to the cooler. I placed the cooler back on the processor after cleaning, reinsert. After the 1st reconnect I started my PC and kept the side cover away just to see everything.  I noticed that the power light was conducted, the GPU fan increased and running and then all of a sudden the fan on top of the CPU stopped running and a few seconds later the case fan stopped running too.

  Help, please.  A simple clean turned into an hour four troubleshooting melting down. (

  CPU cooler fan and processor have a thin layer of compound radiator, transferring heat. When you remove this link, you must clean the compound to both fan and processor and reapply.

• HELP on upgrading HP a6614f

  I just bought a desktop computer HP a6614f during Thanksgiving. I think to make the games a bit on that by replacing a better on the original GeForce 6150 SE video card. But the problem with it's low supply of office. Can someone give me please a few suggestions on the choice of the right PSU such as specific size or a model if I want to move power around 600W? The Office requires that all special size of power supply? Also, what are some decent game video cards that correspond to this desktop computer? Thank you very much

  I want to buy this desktop computer and add a Nvidia GeForce 9600 video card, which requires a 400W power supply, but I can't find any info on what the computer is supplied with power supply. Any help?

  Hello. I'm on a HP a6614f with screen w2216h.

  I have upgraded to a Nvidia GeForce 9500 GT from PNY video card and have been connecting the monitor and the card via VGA. Today I received my DVI-HDMI adapter (down a cheap eBay HK if it makes a difference) in the mail and tried out. The image was horrible! There are vertical lines everywhere. I could solve this problem by going to the Nvidia Control Panel and change the format digital color of RGB to YCbCr44. However, I always had other problems.

  The screen flickers a lot, sometimes to two or three seconds at a time, or even longer. Text would also look too strong, making it hard to read, and it is an area in the middle of the screen where the text would be a blur. The blur seems to correct itself (I didn't really do anything but to disconnect and reconnect the HDMI cable to the end of the adapter) but the problem of a text sharpness and flicker still exists. Also, the colors were a bit off. For example, the red underlining of Firefox for misspelled words appear gray.

  My resolution when you use VGA is 1680 x 1050, which is the native resolution. When I switch to HDMI, the native resolution is higher than this and when changed to that resolution is horrible. The edges are cut off or something, so I left it to 1680 x 1050, which is what I am anyway.

  Anyone has ideas how solve my problems? I am currently using VGA.

  Juggle with the ClearType settings seems to have solved the problem. Hooray!

• Windows 7 does not start after the C disk cloning

  I got a new SSD and hope to clone my drive C for the SSD, then start with the SSD. I cloned the C drive using the software that came with my SSD (NTI Echo iirc). Cloning is completed and the system stops. I started the PC and went to the start menu to change the boot for the SSD device. It wouldn't start up, gives me the following error: "cannot start Windows. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. "Then it tells me to insert the Windows installation disc (that I have not since he's back in the States and I currently live in the Japan) to fix the computer. Boot from my original HDD with SSD unplugged gives me the status code "0xc000000e." Boot from the SSD with the original HHD unplugged gives me the status code "0xc0000225." Info for both was, "the boot selection failed because a required device is not accessible."
  
  I made a recovery disk using my laptop (which I am currently working on) and started via CD/DVD. The System Recovery Options appears and Windows 7 appears on the list, but the size of the partition is 0 and the location says '(unknown) '. I can't click Next or whatever it is because it's just loading all the time.
  
  I tried to go into the system recovery on the first screen (where you enter in the start menu, etc.) and by pressing F11 (System Recovery) doesn't do anything.
  
  My PC is a HP a6614f. I've updated the PSU with a 500W modular one and put in a dedicated GPU. Everything worked fine until I cloned the drive C on the SSD and now no player starts. The primary HHD is partitioned into two with Windows and programs installed on the C drive (personal files are on drive D partition). Drive C was 103 GB and my SSD has 119 GB of free space so I don't think it should be a matter of space.
  
  I am at the end of my tether here since I don't know why the hell my C drive cloning should affect the original drive. At least, I should be able to boot off the original drive, otherwise the SSD. really need my PC to work (with or without the SSD) so any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

  Has managed to solve my problem. All I needed was a Windows 7 installation disc for 'repair my computer.' I managed to download (legally) of Digital River and after that he did his thing, I was able to start my new SSD. Whoo Hoo!

  I have a HP a6600f, it is about 4 years old. I install Windows 7 from scratch on an SSD.

  I was told to get the advance drivers so they would be available during / after installed Windows 7.

• Card reader keeps disappearing

  Hello. I have a HP a6614f running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.

  Lately, my guard card reader disappears from my computer and stop reading my SD card. It is a problem that suddenly appears a year ago. I fixed it by closing the PC, by unplugging and then plugging in the media card reader connector. The problem would come back every now and then, but could be solved by using the same process.

  Lately however the problem that happens almost every time I take my SD card. I withdraw, snap a few photos on my camera, put the card back in and there is no green light on the drive or drives appear in my computer. I can solve this problem at once more have disconnected and reconnected in the connector, but it's tiring because it always forces me to shut down the PC and open the tower.

  Is there a reason why this happens and is there a permanent fix?

  I ended up buying a USB multimedia card reader.

• PC frequently crashes after waking up

  I don't know if my mouse is originally, but after that I went to the VX Nano for notebooks, Logitech wireless laser mouse, often, my PC crashes after I wake him up from his sleep. This NEVER happened before that I went from mouse. Anyone know if the mouse drivers causes conflicts on the system or something? I've got SetPoint 4.80 installed to customize the mouse buttons.

  FYI, I'm on Vista Home Premium 64-bit. My system is a HP a6614f.

  Upgraded to Win7 and the problem seems to have disappeared now.
