  I recently had the misfortune of screwing up my Win7 installation beyond repair, corrupted restore points, you call it.  To the point I started from scratch and have caught up with quite reasonable.

  I noticed a new graphics driver previously unpublished while I was busy to destroy my previous Win7 installation, and then the facility he discovered that every time I completed the installation, it would reboot, Blink a few times (whose video pilot facilities tend to do), then Aero should be turned off and a popup would say that a reboot was necessary due to "changes done."

  So I will re-start, and before even I could connect, I saw the flashing, which will take place as the login screen loaded.  Connection, there it was again, "restart the changes."

  This has happened seven times.  I finally have to load a restore point of entry and things are fine now.  Here is a screenshot of iolo System Mechanic and the Windows Visual Update of the driver.  I know that my ProBook has interchangeable GPU capabilities which was originally a bit of stress, so I was wondering if this was just meant for my particular laptop, but I would like an idea of community.

  Can someone verify or provide an overview to the user an incredible machine otherwise very confusing?  I always like to have best graphics drivers as possible for the game this laptop is capable of running (D3 to impressive FPS, WoW too.)

  I, personally, store HP downloads offline and delete the files after their application.  Since they are self-extracting archives, it is a simple matter to copy to the PC and relaunch them - if I need to reinstall one of them.

  I agree that if the old drivers work OK, then I wouldn't change them just because a newer version is released.

  If you encounter any problems with HP Support Assistant, forcing upgrades that plague the screen, then I remove or disable HPSA - because it is very unlikely that HP still is producting updates for an older PC. You will always be able to get updates of Windows without HPSA in place.

  That is right.  This model is a single band with bluetooth wireless card.

  If it was me, I replace the card with a network card wireless Intel 7260 AGN dual band with bluetooth wireless or check one of the other dual-band patterns in the maintenance manual.

  If you want one of the AC adapters, you need a router wireless AC so it runs at full capacity.

• Get a new laptop Win7 for dual boot with Win8

  So I bought a new laptop with Win7 installed in it and decided to take advantage of the offer low cost upgrade Win8 - just in case. I am unwilling to well to commit myself to Win8 yet but I'd like to tinker with it anyway, and so I tried to create a dual boot on another partition that has failed because of the disk being style GPT.

  Now, after reading a bit, I have this: I would be able to delete existing partitions and reformat the MBR disk and then reinstall Win7 (since a recovery DVDs) in that new partition and then install Win8 after that on a second partition? Would this work (as to not to hurt the disk itself) and get my system dual-boot for both of them?

  Windows 8 Pro license is an upgrade, so you are not able to even dual boot with it in any case. You can not install Windows 8 Pro upgrade on a blank partition.

  As I am passing to sift through messages about laptops - I thought I'd post my own as my requirements are a little different.  I am looking to buy a new windows laptop.  I work with Photoshop and Illustrator and office programs such as outlook, word and excellent.  I have CS2 but will upgrade with purchase of a new laptop - in course of execution CS5.5 (or better) is required.  I want to spend what is necessary to get the job done right - no more - but I won't be cheap either - it must work well & not hinder my workflow.  This will be my only computer. Be effective is the key.  I use Adobe to make graphics for clothing: (embroideries, prints, logos, etc.) and small business (logos, print media, etc.).  I work in actual size - so a lot of what I do is on a 20 x 30 art Board. Suggestions on the sheet or real laptop models would be great.  Thanks a lot for your help: it's all too confusing!

  The Scratch disk location occupies PS via Edition > Preferences. It will be by default C:\, who would be your only option if you have only one HARD disk.

  Ditto for Windows virtual memory (file). By default, it will be implemented, with the installation of the OS, which will be managed dynamically (size of the BONE by need) and will also be located on C:\. On all my computers, I put the management of the files of static Page and size it, as is required. I do it before I add other data/programs on the disk where to find, so that it will be created in the same place at or near the outside of the disc and is created at startup at this location, so that it doesn't get fragmented, nor moved.

  With one HARD disk, you have no other choice, other than to set up how the pagefile is successful and for most users, and most of the applications, leaving the default setting of dynamic management works very well.

  The latest driver did not work. But as I knew that now, for which he was, I used the most recent on the HP site, which worked correctly:

• new laptop returned for warranty before disconnection

  Now I have the computer laptop back after repairs, but they reset all factory settings and lost all schedules.  Now I can not recharge 6 drive lightroom because serial number still think I'm connected.  My two computers max.   I need to keep a copy on the old computer, while I transfer all my stuff on this new computer.  Bottom line... I've lost the ability to have it on two computers.  Help, please.

• Need a new laptop computer for my wife

  SORRY for THE LONG POST, but I wanted to try and get my questions / situation has responded (seeks advice) all at once.

  Here's the deal.  My wife is currently using a laptop XPS 17 4 year.  500 GB hard drive, 8 GB mem with a 2nd generations i7 processor, that was fast, 4 years ago.  Time for an upgrade.

  Its use is: absolutely no game (we are too old for it), so don't want to pay for any card/video enhanced feature - lots of photoshop retouching with Photoshop Elements - will use MS Office Word, Excel, and OneNote - a lot of genealogical research (mainly Ancestry.com and family tree) - internet surfing (mainly shopping) - email - wireless - and I think that's about it.

  Probably do not have a barn-burner system, but I don't like powerful systems because you don't know what might appear in the future - so I prefer pretty processors high-end with lots of memory, for photo editing work (was told that Photoshop Elements do not use the video card that is my reason to minimize this feature).

  Probably will not replace the system for another 3-4 years, which is another reason to prefer a high processor range.

  I thought processor i7, 16 GB memory, maybe 1TD of hard disk and minimum graphics card.

  I have sort of a question on the display.  It is currently using and like the screen 17 ".  But if one were to get a 15 ", with the same size of HD (number of pixels I guess), the image on the screen seems to have a finer resolution because the pixels are staring closer together.  Or a 15 "display would make it more difficult when Photo editing editing and cleaning of old photos (she does a lot of that is related to his work of genealogy).

  Oh and one last thing.  We want Windows 10 and think that we are not particularly interested in touchscreens - although if you get a touchscreen, it does not hurt, he likes it.-, do not use it if you do not want, you do.  I wonder too, if you save a lot by getting a non touch screen, since most of the systems is underway now configured with a touch screen - which is a real perception.

  And one final point may be of interest.  I was thinking somewhere around $1,000 for the system.

  I hope that you stuck with me and read the whole long post and give me some advice as to what type of Dell system would have these requirements and needs.

  Hello!  In my opinion the Inspiron 17 5000 should do you very well.  If you like and are used to a 17-inch screen, it can be a bit uncomfortable reduce the size of 2 inches.  In response to your question about pixel etc, if you have a screen 1080 p on a 17 inch screen and drop down to a 15 screen inches most people would say the image seems a bit sharper because the pixels themselves are smaller, but it also depends on how far you are in the screen , the brightness of the screen, the quality of the screen, etc.

  Watching the series, I mentioned, it is one that has everything you are looking for, but only 8 GB of RAM for 849,00, or the 16 GB for 1099 version.  Even if you don't really want a dedicated graphics card, it comes with the AMD r5 which used to bad at all.

  If you wanted to drop to a 15 inch screen, you can get the Inspiron 5000 15 series for 799 which has all the technical features you are looking for, or you can switch to the Inspiron 15 7000 series itself, but that is more oriented towards people who like a little play.

  Here are the recommended GPU in system requirements. Any GPU more 1 GB VRAM should be supported, but the more VRAM, the better. Your more 2 GB so you should be OK. Hope that helps!

• AE freeze for a while during the passage of Premiere Pro using dynamic linking

  I use Premiere Pro with dynamic links to AE constantly. In this particular computer I had it for 3 months without any problem. A few days ago began almost every time I change first Pro AE (CMD + Tab), a little bit at the beginning and now, a LOT of freezing. It takes several minutes for AE start working again.

  Looking at activity monitor the % CPU for AE when this happens is over 100 and often red (not admissible). Time range from 10 seconds to several minutes. I work with this constantly so I have to be able to move quickly from one to the other.

  Some details of what I am working with:

  OS X Yosemite 10.10.3

  iMac (retina 5K, 27 inches, end of 2014)

  4 GHz Intel Core i7 processor

  32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 memory

  Graphics AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4096 MB

  First Pro CC 2014.2 Version 8.2.0 Build (65)

  After effects CC 2014.2 Version 13.2.0.49

  I tried to uninstall and re-installation of AE, Premiere Pro and Media Encoder (in desperation) and the recommendations of Adobe support I run repair permission to drive on the boot drive, as well as through all the permissions in disk for all the Adobe folders and subfolders... No use, it keeps freezing like I use it. Memory RAM remains a good 20-25 GB when this happens. I'm running out of options.

  I found the problem. HAVE nothing to do with the files, but with the huge amount of compositions that are related to the time wherever I have reach about 30 or so it starts to slow down.

  Solution, keep the compositions related to various projects of the AE. Works like magic again. Thanks for the help anyway!

  You need to perform a test of battery status you can do by pressing F2 when you rewind upward to enter diagnostic mode. If you are out of warranty and the laptop is older than 2 years, the first thing we think of battery problems are that the battery is old and needs to be replaced.

  On 15 may, I noticed that my laptop freezes for 2-3 seconds every 10 minutes.
  I use the original Windows Vista 32 bit.

  I remember my firewall (Comodo) program update and Toshiba TEMPRO that day.
  I tried to restore the system to the State on May 7, but the problem persists.

  What happens if you try to uninstall the firewall that you have updated? In my view, this could be the reason of this problem because with the new TEMPRO version, I have very good experience and it s faster than the old version.

  Then uninstall the firewall and use CCleaner to clean the system. Maybe that's market and then you must use another firewall (Windows Firewall for example).
