HP SimplePass causes Firefox 30 fosseen.

I used it a bit in the past, and it's great. Unfortunately with Firefox 30, there is a gap in the address bar when he flew.

Preview of the photo

Delete the following folder solved the problem of the gap:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\distribution\bundles\[email protected]

Now the software is disabled in Firefox, however. Here is the content of the original folder:

Content of files

After you restart the system, the icon SimplePass both return address bar gap.

I should mention that, apart from this issue, SimplePass works perfectly and I did have other issues.

If someone is able to make HP SimplePass and Firefox compatible 30 without a gap in the address bar, I would appreciate it a lot.

So for now I fixed it! I don't know how it happened, but I'll let you know what I did.

I realized that the Web Log has been disabled in the HP SimplePass software, then I reactivated it. I disabled it just a few days when I started to have a problem. Then I went into the menu of Firefox and selected Plugins never activate. I restarted Firefox, re-entered the menu and choose activate. The icon was back, there is no space in the address bar and hit connections worked.

because everything seemed all right, I have re-upgraded to Firefox 30. I don't see the icon SimplePass, ditch or out with newspaper on the guests. Then I went into Control Panel and repair installation of HP SimplePass. I opened Firefox and seen the icon and saw the gap with any blow to open a session. I did the same thing as last time: deactivated and reactivated in Plugins.

Somehow that fixed my problems. If all goes well, it stays that way with a reboot. If this isn't the case, I'll report.

How can I disable these background connections?

Hello, I'm no expert on the matter, but it is quite possible that the spdy Protocol, which is used by google on its secure sites (twitter atm) and is causing the behavior that you have seen.

"SPDY connections are persistent connections. For optimal performance, it is expected that clients will not close the open connections until the user navigates away from all web pages referring to a connection, or until the server closes the connection. Servers are encouraged from the connections open as long as possible, but can stop idle connections if necessary. »

You can try to disable support for the spdy Protocol in firefox (in all: config) and see if that changes the number and length of connections to the server.

  • Secondary windows are causing Firefox to freeze

Problem with Firefox freezing MAJOR. Whenever a second window opens, the browser everything freezes, and I have to use the Task Manager to close. This includes windows as a quick check for a bill pay, windows of seizure of task/link in various forums and even Firefox functions, such as clearing cache/cookies/etc window. When I open that to clear things, I can't do it. Even if the browser has not been opened, but a few minutes, it freezes. The small window does not close, I can't navigate from page, nothing. I use 3.6.28, and no, I don't want to upgrade. We have the latest version on other systems, and it stinks. Blocker does not block the things that it DOES not block on my system (things on the same site, same page, etc.), the themes have totally DISAPPEARED (and I wouldn't miss the Captain Jack Sparrow at the top of my browser window!), and various items of STANDARD browser are often missing - back button, bookmark link , discount, etc. I don't want a version with all these questions. I love the layout that I have, and I like my themes. However, since the last "update", I had this stupid question, and this severely limits my navigation. I tried to disable ALL add-ons/plug-ins, nothing helps. No change whatsoever. Tried to disable all cookies. Did not work. I can not even find mention of this issue in all the help pages, and I tried all the solutions offered for Firefox "hang." Proxy of NP to connect, no additional session files, no plugin problem, nothing. I have really to ask if this issue has not been created, to try to force me to upgrade. I will therefore do this way. I don't like to be pushed. Yes, I also checked my antivirus settings, and they are always very good. Firefox is listed as "of confidence" and not restricted at all. Never caused a problem before, either, and I don't think that is the question now.

So who else has this ridiculous problem? Who else wants a solution that does not offer a browser limited with any of the themes? Alternatively, Hey, live chat for talking with someone from real tech, what can DO something? Yes, I'm frustrated. I LOATHE HIM and I started to use Firefox because of major problems with different versions of IE, in different versions of Windows, on various computers. been using Firefox for a LONG time now, more than a decade and never had problems of this kind. • HP DV6: SimplePass causing dllhost restart

Hello. So I have a laptop DV 6 and I upgraded to Win10 when released MS it is free. Since then it has worked very well. All of a sudden, I noticed that my mouse cursor is flashing and showing a busy sign and my LED finger print scanner blinks as well.

I have used Explorer process to invesigate and found that the dllhost.exe was put on and ending and reformulating in a loop with a new process id. I disabled the biometric device and the system has stabilized.

I then activated the unit and the behavior resumed. I've disabled and scanned for viruses (not found). I removed simplepass and helped the unit, the system is stable. I reinstalled simplepass and the problem is back.

At this point, I have removed simplepass and download ccleaner to see if there is something in the registry causing and the question. I have the driver version is 4.5.235.0. The Simplepass Version is 6.0.100.244 (mentioned on the setup.exe)

  • I uninstalled an add-on, but it continues to reset my Manual proxy settings whenever I run, causing firefox to not connect to internet.

I recently installed an add-on (ZenMate) which subsequently I uninstalled because it's buggy. I never open it.

It is supported my proxy settings. When I launch FF, it now says "The Proxy Server is refusing relationship» I go into my network settings and notice that he selected the automatic configuration of the proxy, with a link to some zenmate garbage. So I reset it to no proxy and voila! Problem solved. Except that this isn't the case. Out of FF, and then run again, it restores every time of automatic proxy garbage.

    Can someone please help?

    Thank you!

Could check you something: just before the release of Firefox, make a backup copy of the file prefs.js, which must have the own proxy setting ('no proxy'). Then we will compare after his stop.

    Here's how:

Open the settings folder (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table of the page, click on the view file"" button. This should launch a new window that lists the various files and folders in Windows Explorer.

Scroll down the list and create a copy of prefs.js as follows: click right prefs.js > copy and then immediately right-click in an empty area of the margin > paste. In a few moments, prefs - Copy.js must appear in your profile folder.

Leave this window open, switch back to Firefox and output, either:

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • (menu bar) File > Exit

Pause while Firefox finishing its cleanup, then repeat them process previous and windows should create a second copy. Right-click the second copy > Edition and Windows should start the file in Notepad. This can take some time if you have accumulated a lot of custom settings. If you are looking for proxy.type is that he always set to No proxy as it is during your session:

    user_pref("network.proxy.type", 0);

    If it has been changed:

    • Change it to 0, as shown in the previous line and save the file.
    • Launch Firefox back up again and see if it works.

    If it still shows 0:

Before starting Firefox, confirm that this user.js has been recreated in this folder.
