  It works, but there are some caveats:

  • Firefox may disable the use of SimplePass anytime the permenantly
  • Use the most recent series 8 HP SimplePass

  I have used Explorer process to invesigate and found that the dllhost.exe was put on and ending and reformulating in a loop with a new process id. I disabled the biometric device and the system has stabilized.

  I then activated the unit and the behavior resumed. I've disabled and scanned for viruses (not found). I removed simplepass and helped the unit, the system is stable. I reinstalled simplepass and the problem is back.

  At this point, I have removed simplepass and download ccleaner to see if there is something in the registry causing and the question. I have the driver version is 4.5.235.0. The Simplepass Version is 6.0.100.244 (mentioned on the setup.exe)

  Ideas to help solve this problem will be apprecaited.

  If the update to the latest version of Trusteer does not help then you should disable Trusteer for now and to contact their support site.
