HP solutions Centre printer but nothing prints

My Win 7 computer was printing normally on my Officejet Pro L7780 until a couple of days - now I can't print anything. The printer is connected wireless.

HP Solution Center reports that the L7780 is connected and I can print a self-test Diagnostic Page.

I checked and where necessary corrects the following issues: -.

1. the print spooler is running - I cycled it several times without result.

2. the ink supplies are adequate. I replaced two which were weak.

3. the printer indicates that "Working properly" in Device Manager.

4. I reinstalled drivers L7780.

5. I have confirmed that the URL in the Configuration Page of HP network matches the 'rental' on the properties of the printer device manager.

6. I ran the HP print and Scan Doctor, who reported no error, but would not print a test page.

7. I turned off the printer, it disconnected for 10 seconds, then restarted.

8. using the HP Solution Center, I am able to scan a document to a file.

I'm still not able to print from any program, including Word, Outlook, and a text editor after the foregoing!

Suggestions, please.

Mark

You're welcome Mark!  As you say once bitten... I think that these non-essential errors will be useful to keep around in case it happens again.  It's like leaving bread crumbs to find your way back just in case.  You're definitely on the right track, and even though it was a long trip I am always happy to help you!

Let me know if it happens again, but if I can make a recommendation to maybe change anti-virus software (only if it happens again).  Don't get me wrong, it's a great software (as he does his job a little too well) and I wouldn't worry on this issue until it happens again, but I hope you're ready.  Certainly the computer has a few copies, but as long as you know one to print you should be fine.  I had a similar experience where my backup copy saved today and allowed me to print when none of my other printers on my computer worked.

Keep me posted, but I have to say that I think that you have won Bravo yourself to be a good sport through it all.  Thank you for your patience with me and 8lives.  I share your enthusiasm.

Here are several good years with this printer! Good printing and scanning.

  • printer has ink and looks like it is printing, but nothing is on paper

I am trying to print on my printer HP photosmart Premium. She "acts" like printing but nothing is on the page. The ink cartridges are filled.

You specify the model of your printer, but this issue seems to be pretty common with several models of the HP Photosmart Premium.  I saw no definitive answer.

The printer ejects white of paper when printing sheets - a list of 10 "solutions" of HP who seem less and less relevant and more desperate towards the end of the list

General HP Print troubleshooting suggestions.  Note that if you have not used the printer for a long time, it is possible that the print head is blocked.  Run the cleaning steps proposed could help - but they use a lot of ink.

If the print head is really in bad shape, it might have to be replaced.  I wouldn't do it until everything else has failed.

  • After upgrade to Windows 7 - printer is installed, but nothing prints

I see some posts with people who say that their printer is installed, but when they try and printing is queued for the print spooler and then disappears, or they say they can print a test page for the HP software but nothing prints.

Most of these people seem to have migrated from another version of Windows to Windows 7, and they have configurations and different printers.

Through testing, we found that this fix works.

    How to fix

    1. Unplug the printer if it is connected via a usb cable.
    2. Click the icon and select all programs.
    3. Select the HP folder, and then select the printer and select Uninstall
    4. Once the uninstall is complete, select devices and printers
    5. Click on another printer or Microsoft XPS Document Writer
    6. Click on the printer server properties in the top menu
    7. Choose the drivers to the installed printer drivers , select the printer that has been uninstalled in step 3.
    8. Click Remove and when we asked him to choose to remove the driver and driver package and click ok.
    9. Install the Windows 7 software for the printer.

I would like to say a big thank you to all who have posted on this subject with the details of their facilities, etc.  This information has helped me make this fix.

    Thank you

Check with Kodak support or website to see if there's a test or a diagnostic process that you can run to identify the problem with the printer.  It is not likely to be a problem of Windows at this point.

    Hello

    · What is the model number of the computer?

    · Were there any changes made on the computer before the show?

Check is it y of error codes and error message appears in Event Viewer: how to view and manage the event logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308427

  • When I print, the printer sounds like its printing but nothing comes out on the page. What should do?

I just installed an hp F4480 printer, my roommate gave me.  My OS is Windows XP.  When I try and print or copy something the printer looks like it's printing and the paper passes by like it is printing but nothing comes out on the page.  Perhaps is out of ink, I guess, but I don't know how to say and I don't want to spend $50 to get a new non-refundable ink cartridge to see.  I did a print test page and the only thing that came out was a light that said the Page of Test printer Windows XP Blue cap but nothing else was on the page.

It's really a problem of HP, not a Windows problem, and you should look for the HP Support help site.

    However...

One of the lights on the printer are flashing?  There are 2 'estimated ink level lights' on the front panel.  See http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01673672&tmp_track_link=ot_faqs/top_issues/en_us/c01673672/loc:3 & cc = us & dlc = en & lang = en & lc = en & product = 3742086

Genuine HP ink cartridges are installed?  The cartridges have been completed?  How long did it that the printer is correctly printed?

When you installed the printer, you have installed the "HP Toolbox" application (or you simply download and install the basic printer driver)?  See http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01892627&tmp_task=solveCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&lc=en&product=3742086#N44

  • HP4500. Wireless: Wireless HP4500 - prints Test Page but nothing else

I just bought my first iMac.  I also have a HP (Windows) laptop connected wireless to a HP Officejet 4500 Wireless printer/fax combination for work.  For the new iMac, I loaded the software from the HP drive.  The test page printed beautifully, but nothing prints.  No e-mail, not a word processor file, nothing.  I have tried the uninstall / reboot / reinstall way nothing helps.  I saw the instructions to configure a static IP address, but I'm not sure what could do to my current computer-printer link.  Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, I am not sure I can reproduce the steps but I finally got my printer to work.  I had to install a new driver from HP and Hello "Multifunction" from Apple.  After several reboots, the printer works now.  Sheesh!

    Hi goofy55,

    1. don't you make changes before the show?

We recommend that you run the printer Troubleshooter and check the result. To do this, try the following steps:
    a. see solving printer problems
    b. click Microsoft hotfix and run the tool successfully.
    c. restart the computer and check the difference.

  • HP Officejet 6500 Wireless: Print - stream paper and sounds right but nothing on paper.

Recently the summaries printed and everything was fine.   Replace the ink cartridges and now when we try to print something, the flow of paper into the printer and sounds like its printing but nothing does not appear on paper when it comes out.  When printing e-mail, it will display the title (to, from, subject, etc.), but nothing in the body of the e-mail draws.  I aligned the print heads and cleaned the print heads, but still nothing. Any ideas on what could be the problem?

After I replied that the attempts did not work, I tried cleaning and aligning the printheads again. This time, it worked like a charm. Thank you very much for your help, you have my sincere gratitude without end.

    Hi djmatthewlee

    1. How is the printer connected to the network?

    2. is the printer directly connected to the Windows 7 computer?
    3. do you have the updated drivers installed for the printer?

You can refer to the link below and use the printer troubleshooter. See if it resolves the issues -

color canon lbp 2410 printer will not install in 64 bit win7. I tried everything suggested, but nothing works. It will install in 32-bit win7?

It's an old printer and there was only the 32-bit drivers for Windows 98 to Vista. Canon are unlikely to write 64-bit drivers now.

    All-in-one HP Psc 1350

    X.7.2 OS

My utilities said printer sends the document to the printer, even shows % finished (no message offline or idle), but nothing comes out of the printer.

Also impossible to install the software as "PowerPC is no longer supported.

    Thoughts?

    Hi the4kosmos,

Indeed the software on the CD supplied with your printer, or also the software available on the HP download pages are not compatible with Mac OS 10.7 Lion. However, you can install the HP Printer Driver Update 2.8, which contains the drivers printing and scanning (via print & scan, preview or Capture of Image).

You may already have? If not and you use a different print driver, I suggest that you simply remove the current printer queue. Make sure that your device is connected directly to the USB port on your Mac. Then add the printer and you should get a message that there is software available to install - accept, so installing the respective drivers. See this document for more details: OS X 10.7 Lion: install and use the printer with Lion

If this message does not - maybe you're not connected to the internet - you can also download a full package of the HP Printer Driver Update 2.8: HP v.2.8 OS X printer drivers

Information on how to scan without the HP software, you can find here: How to perform a scan in Mac OS X 10.6 and OS X 10.7 without use of the HP software

On the question of printing, make sure that your device is connected directly to the Mac's USB port and the USB cable is not longer than 3meters. You can also try another USB port and USB cable to another if the problem persists.

    Hope the information is useful.
