HP Touchsmart 520 turn on after being on vacation

I was on vacation for two weeks and cut off electricity in my house, incow I'm back I turn on electrical installation at, but my computer does not illuminate. There is power to the adapter (the Green led on the box in the middle of two cables is on), but the computer does not illuminate. Does anyone have advice?

I appreciate the responsee to try to help, however because I've waited if long until I heard something I ended up taking the computer to two local repair shops. Basically the motherboard was fried and there is no repair. "Among repair shops only spoke if you have an"all in one"(with or without touch screen) because of the way they are built, they have laptop motherboards that don't last as"normal"PCs

After upgrade Office 2007 to Office 2010 on my Vista, then my computer turns off after being idle for a while. When I turn on my computer, I get the splash screen indicating that Windows has finished unexpectedly and I would like to start in safe mode or normally (pluss a couple more choice...).

Appears not to occur if there is activity going on--as if do me some work or have itunes playing music or I'm just surfing the internet. Curiously, it seems not to happen if I close Internet Explorer and Outlook.

    Hi B Odd Andersen,

I want to clarify if your computer seems to be sleeping or it completely closed after being idle for a while.

Method 1: If the computer is in power saving mode, check if you can wake the computer from this State by moving the mouse or pressing any key on the keyboard.

Method 2: Change the power to another and check to see if the problem persists
Change, create, or delete a power plan (scheme)

Method 3: check the logs in event viewer for more information on auto-off down

    Open event viewer

What are the information in event logs? (Event Viewer)

Note: For your safety and security, it is not recommended to disable Windows Update.
Activate the update or disable automatic

  • The screen of my laptop not turn on after being in mode 'sleep'

Let me start by saying that I am a novice in computer repair, so advice please put in laymon's terms! My problem started a few weeks ago, when my Dell inspiron 1526 would not resume when I opened the lid of the laptop.  (I rarely have to cut the power, just close the lid) When he started to arrive, I have to cut the power and turn off several times to get my computer to come back.  I did research on the internet for a solution (because I had resorted to all leaving the lid open).  I found one that worked for me... I did the following:

Click on the start menu, then right click on "computer" and click Properties.
Click the Manager option of devices on the left.
Under "System devices", one of the first should be the appliance close the lid.  Right click and click on "Update Driver Software".
Click "Browse my computer...". ", and then"Let Me pick from a list... ". »
    Uncheck it "Show compatible Hardware".
In the list on the right, scroll down, select Manager of Volume and click Next.

It was running great until the other day when I accidentally clicked on the Start button and then put the computer in mode 'sleep'.  Well now the computer screen lights up not at all.  All my family and I spent the weekend all put under tension of the laptop then turn it back, nothing will do.  I am now in panic mode since I use my computer to work from home as well as to take some college courses online! I found a lot of advice on this subject, but all of them are to be able to actually see what is on the screen! I need to know how to put the screen on the first!  I tried to take out the battery and unplug it but that no longer works. I know the computer becomes power b/c I can hear fans and restarting, but the screen does not light.  Help, please! From what I read it seems that it is a big problem with windows vista users!

    Hello

Since it is not initialize, I suggest you to contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer for more help with this.

  • HP Touchsmart 520-1130: problems after upgrade to Windows 10 with child safety settings

The PC above has fantastic built-in safety for children - called "magic desktop" which has locked access to the chosen computer other than the programs and Web sites.

Since the upgrade (wish I had not!), I can not access this Magic Desktop.

PC and web competely now open to children and am only able to restrict access to Web sites by setting up an e-mail address for them and parental on devices etc. No local locking through Internet as on Windows 7 settings.

While above is priority No. 1, it does not protect the rest of the PC to access.

    Can anyone help?

    (Don't know if I'm 32 or 64-bit)

You must uninstall the program and install the latest version for WIN 10

  • TouchSmart 520-1010 has itself turned off everything in video game

My 2 week old Touchsmart 520-1010 a (Windows 7 64-bit) turns off each time after the video for a few seconds (8-12). Windows gadget pointed to the temperature of the GPU reaching up to 120 ° c in about 10 seconds after the beginning of the video (anything like video streaming online, or offline video MP4, etc.). GPU temperature was about 74-90 ° c If NOTto play the video.

This Touchsmart PC is a refurb at HP and has no problem if no video is played. One day I worked up to 4 hours on the Touchsmart without any problem at all. So I think that the problem is with the GPU overheating.

Is it a hardware problem can only be fixed by the technician or service center?

    See you soon

Hello, so the problem was really a hardware problem with the video card, and as I suspect me, you would need for that unit controlled by the repair center. Good to know that your issue has been resolved, thank you for your comments and your message. Kind regards

  • Screen becomes black after being left idle only recourse is to turn off the power

Our screen goes black after being left idle for some time.  The only recourse is to turn it off.  The keyboard does not (without CTRL-ALT-DEL).  I tried to return to the previous registry spot without success.  Any ideas?

    Hi Flair24,

-Have you made changes on your computer before this problem started to happen?
-Set the screen saver vacuum? If so, change the screen saver to another and check if this might be the cause of this problem.
-Do you have any particular power on your computer(sleep/hibernate) model?

  • TouchSmart 520 TV tuner stopped working

I have a 1190EA Touchsmart 520. I have recently upgraded to Windows 8 to 8.1 Windows and now the TV tuner stopped working. I've already used Windows Media Center to watch TV. I ran install MCE and windows MCE is unable to find all channels. My TV card is an Avermedia A859.

I tried everything to fix the problem without success. I suspect that the card is is most recognized in the PC and have tried to find a driver windows 7 or 8 for the card A859. I was not able to locate a driver from the sites, including the Avermedia and HP. The only thing I could find is on the HP site where there is a patch TV card 'channel search fix' for Windows 7. I tried running it, but it returns a "HP not compatitibility" error message during the installation.

I also tried to install other programs of TV tuner (no windows MCE) to see if these would work. These don't work and I think that they are not detect any signal. Yet once this leads me to think that the TV card needs a driver.

If anyone can help here it would be really appreciated.

    Hey X 1199,.

Tuner TV being not able to find any signal / channels, since the upgrade to Windows 8.1. After checking the HP Software and Driver download page, it takes up to 8 windows are supported. I've included the document 'what happens if I do not see my operating system?'. He will inform you of the various options you have.

Now since you have tried to get the drivers from the manufacturer and 3 third-party sites and are still unable to get the job of TV tuner. You have options, restore your computer to the previous version. Or wait for the pilots to become available. I've included the document "performing a recovery of HP (Windows 8) system."

    Kind regards.

  • Receiver location/How to Access Receiver/how do I synchronize manually on HP TouchSmart 520 wireless keyboard

I own a HP TouchSmart 520. Today my wireless keyboard has stopped working. The mouse works perfectly, titles like a charm, but the keyboard won't be any type. I tried to change the batteries and turn the computer (because the keyboard is supposed to automatically synchronize to start the computer). Neither have worked, so I looked on the HP Forums Web solution.

I found useful information wonderfully. Apparently, my keyboard needs a manual synchronization. After searching how to do this, I have found information indicating that I should 'hold the sync button on the mouse/keyboard located on the waterfront of [my] PC. ' I've searched high and low and have not yet found such a button.

There are a few suggestions indicating I should remove my receiver located at the back of my computer and then reinsert and see if that helps. I find the receiver the most, but it is blocked from my reach by the cover at the back of the computer. I tried to remove this cover, but it does not work. There is a small rectangle in the middle of the sign with a symbol of locking over him. I don't know what that means, but regular pencils/paper/cardboard rectangles do not work. I know that my computer came NOT with a sort of plastic key, so now I am at a loss. Help, please...

It's actually more the dongle's problem, actually. I got my keyboard works by transferring the dongle on USB port, but I'm afraid it is not the right solution, because now my computer is unable to detect as much of as a WiFi signal. I think I'll start another discussion on this topic. Thank you, however, for your offer.

  • iPod 5th generation won't turn on after falling in the bathroom and then dry with rice! What should I do?

    Hello

My iPod touch 5th generation won't turn after being immersed in water bath for about 15 seconds and then dried to rice. I tried pressing both the House and the buttons but nothing happens! My iPod is about a year and a half and it usually works very well.

It really scares me because it's the only small portable device I have, which means that if I lose, I'm stuck carrying my iPad autour, which is quite heavy. Also, I wrote something about the iPod that I really like, but I didn't sync it to my computer, as I was traveling while I wrote it and then also when the machine broke.

This is an urgent matter, because I travel by plane in twelve days and there's a pretty long flight. I want it fixed right here - what can I do?

    Thank you

  • TouchSmart 520: The computer is stuck on the opening of the screens.

    Hi all

It will be a little long because I try to give as much detail as possible. I have a desktop HP Touchsmart 520. The other day, I want to run an OS based on Linux from a USB key. I did once before, so I did what I did the last time. I unplugged, take off the back, then removed the hard drive, then plugged the USB key. I was hoping that since I didn't drive hard in, the computer would then operate the stick because of the boot order. He did bring up the screen of the OS, but gave me an error on failure. I turned it off and then return and go to the bios to change the configuration. I found the USB from the menu, but couldn't move, so I tried to disable the first option for the hard drive. I plugged the USB back in, but it does not still work, so I tried to drive hard back. Something happened somewhere in all this, the computer froze, so I tried to hit different buttons to see if I could get an answer, but nothing, so I cut. When I cut back on, I can't no longer to enter the BIOS. The usual HP screen comes up and says press ESC to enter on the start menu, and if I hit him in the first second coming he will take me to a black screen that has my computer on this subject record, starting with the processor type, processor speed, etc. (if I hit any button in a moment the computer hangs on the HP screen). This black screen is as far as I can go and the computer always crashes here, no matter what button I push, but it is said in the lower right corner of the activity for any button I pressed on, for example if I press F2 on the HP screen, it will go to the black screen with my characteristics and in the lower right It will read Diagnostics; If I am pressing F10, it will do as above but read the configuration. He never goes beyond this screen. I know that's not my hard drive, because he wasn't in when it started happening, nor is it possible that a virus has been on the USB port, as it's a BONE checked and I do not use this stick for something else. I know that something happened when I was in the BIOS, but I don't know how to fix it. Nobody knows what is happening or what I can do to try to fix it? It would be very appreciated that I can't afford to take it in, and I don't think it's a bad thing in the first place, I don't know what I'm doing. Thanks to you all!

    Hello

seems that there is a corruption of the bios. First try to make BIOS clear CMOS. He must go, unplug the power supply, open it on the back and to remove the RTC (real time clock) battery for a couple miutes and then turn the unit and go to the bios and load bios defaults. As a guide to go and use the services for your product guide. You specify exactly which model you have (model number or product number), but look on hp.com for service guide: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03357415 for more details.

Note that this operation to be experienced user but you wrote that you have disconnected the HARD drive, you have already opened the unit if you wait is at the level to do so.

If the RTC cmos clear won't help, report back and we will help you make bios flash BACK.

  • HP TouchSmart 520-1030: recovery of the disks are no longer available from the HP Support

I am trying to help a friend who's HP TouchSmart 520-1030 hard disk is dead.  I have the HP support site, fill out forms to buy 5 DVD System Recovery Disk Set Kit for this system. He even asked for my credit card information. Only after that I entered all this information, the system told me that the recovery kit was no longer available for this system. I tried to download a Windows 7 from Microsoft, but because the key of Windows 7 has been an OEM key, they told me I'd get from HP. I called HP support and they said that they could not get the kit. I asked them if I bought a new copy of Windows 7, the drivers would be available at HP. The phone technology said he didn't know. I asked him if he could tell me how I could know, he says 'No, good night' and hung up. I was not rude or anything. Very professional, in my opinion. In any case, I'm stuck. I know that my friend should have the recovery disks, but it didn't. Does this mean that he should throw a 3 year, $750 all-n-one computer? Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

If HP does no more, it is available here:

  • HP Touchsmart 520-1020 PC: installation of operating system/recovery on the new HARD disk media?

    Hello everyone!

I recently bought and installed a new hard drive on my Touchsmart 520-1020 after that started to spoil. Given that I don't return to the top of my media and the model was old enough, I had to buy a whole new pack of system directly from HP recovery disks. I tried to install them several times, but each time that the process of recovery achieved 39% the disk #2 (in 4 total) that breaks down just, and a message appears saying that there is an error 0xe0ef000e. I thought it might be produced because the hard drive is not compatible, but the hard drive is reading for diagnostic tests, so is not the problem. HP support suggested that the problem could be with the discs, but I bought it on the official HP website to make them new. Please let me know what you think the problem might be. Thank you for your time.

More than likely disk 2 is bad, call HP for a replacement set.
