HP w2338h: view not fill screen after Windows 10 Upgrade

Upgrade to Windows 10 the display on the monitor has an unoccupied part is one inch around the entire screen. The resolution is correctly set up to 1920 x 1080. It is impossible to extend it through the display settings in the PC. The upgrade was made from Windows 7. I checked through HP and there is no 10 available for this monitor Windows driver even if Microsoft called all the software and compatible hardware for the upgrade. The adapter is version 8.970.100.9001, dated 13/01/15 date.

I don't know if the graphic card, ATI Radeon HD 4350 connected via HDMI, has no effect on this problem.

I'd appreciate any help.

To answer my own question: I plugged in just another monitor with the same resolution (Dell U2312HM), and it didn't overscan problem. All pixels are 1:1 (clear and sharp). So it doesn't seem to be a monitor + graphics driver interaction.

    Hello

Have you tried to update the display driver? Maybe you have an older version that is not fully compatible with Windows 7. Just check the Web from Toshiba site to get the latest version:

  • At the end of the factory restore, but black screen after "Windows has set up the computer.

The model in question is VC863AA #UUW

I want to get back the computer to the factory condition, so I rebooted and you press F11. Everything went exactly like this: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00814731#N72 (chapter "Start a restore from the hard drive and the computer is off")...

.. until step 10, which States:

"The computer restarts and continues in the installation of Windows. Complete the configuration screens and wait until the computer finishes the installation program. "Then turn off the computer, reconnect all devices and turn on the computer.

Yes, the computer restarts. She continues in the Windows installation (it says "medan windows konfigurerar datorn Vanta", which means roughly "Please wait while Windows configures the computer"). After that which was for about 5-10 minutes, the text disappears and the computer restarts by itself.

After that, he gives a normal load Windows Vista bar and after that black screen. It seems to be a little bit alive but jammed somehow. If I let it be for several hours, he goes to the standby mode. If I wake up, he still won't. I can plug a USB another keyboard and he will make some access to hard drive (load a driver probably). I can press the sleep button and it will go into sleep mode. But if I press the power button / stop briefly, it will NOT stop.

So finally, after several hours I forced to shut down (by pressing the power button / stop longer). When I start it, it goes back to behave as explained in the previous paragraph.

If I press F8 during startup and select Safe mode, it goes in safe mode and I get dialogue indicating in Finnish:

«Asenna Windows: Windows ei voi suorittaa vikasietotilassa asennusta.» See devam fenetresdans asennusta uudelleen tietokoneen kaynnistamalla. »

    Rough translation:

"Installation of Windows: Windows cannot complete installation in safe mode." "You can continue the installation by restarting the computer.

If I restart the computer, it goes back to the black screen after the windows loading bar.

This suggests that there is something in the installation of Windows who jams it.

I can install Windows Vista from a Vista DVD, but then I can't use the software included with the computer. (App States installation cannot install on a machine that is unauthorized, then of course they are looking for some OEM HP things.)

Any suggestions on how to fix jam that continues with installing Recovery Windows or how to install the software on a normal Vista would be very appreciated.

I solved the problem. Good thing I didn't order the restore disks, because that would not have solved the problem.

I decided to post it because I don't know there will be others who have HP Pavilion Elite m9754sc and will have to face this problem of a black screen after the restoration.

The fact is that the restore worked perfectly, but in this display card driver is buggy and it causes the screen to go black.

I thought that what I installed fresh Vista which worked until I installed the driver from the recovery partition display. I tried VGA, outputs HDMI and DVI on the factory installed GeForce GT220 and none worked.

A defective display driver should normally be no problem we could go in safe mode and fix it to the it. But as with the recovery goes to pre install state (ask what language to use etc.), safe mode does not work.

So the solution is to unlock the display of the motherboard connectors and remove the factory installed GeForce GT220. Once the recovery and installation of Windows is finished using the graphics card integrated motherboards, you can reconnect the GeForce GT220 and get a updated driver with safe mode.

  • G62 b90 - ev: black screen after Windows loading

Hello everyone, as you can see by the title I get black screen after loading of Windows at the same time as everything else works (hard drive of fans lights and sounds). I've tried several things, I read on troubleshooting thread, memory, diagnosis, diagnosis of hard drive, delete and change put the Rams, disconnect the battery and ac and keep the power button for 30secs hurry the ac without the battery but nothing. I also tried to use a monitor with hdmi cable but I get a blue screen when I try with the monitor. Also what happens during a format so I can't even through safe mode. IM really waiting for your answers and in the hope of a solution. Thanks in advance!

Just because you use the key F11 to restore to factory does not mean that the recovery partition itself is not altered.

Suggest you try instead the recovery discs or take it to the shop for advanced diagnostics.

My thoughts are that it is a driver problem. Try to update your drivers, and then stop the updated driver in Windows Updates.

    -----------------------------------------

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - Device Manager - Display Adapter - note the brand and complete model of your
video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this
cannot do anything as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
This will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party with their
own the software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restoration) and then of the manufacturer of the device
(Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for the BIOS, Chipset and software)
updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - tab drivers version you install actually shows up. This
because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a
pilot - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat if necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW on device at the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER - manually check by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver in the Windows updates,
This leaves ONE of Windows updates, but it will not install the drivers who are generally older and cause

  • Stuck on the profile screen after Windows update

After that a windows update last night, my computer is stuck on the profile screen and I can not connect.  By clicking on the icons for different accounts does not bring to the top of the login screen where I can enter a password. The screen just flashes and the wheel spins for a while and then comes back to the profile screen. I tried to boot into the different security modes but same thing happens and I can not connect. I also tried to fix the computer and restart at the last known good configuration under boot options with the same results. Short to reset the default settings that will erase all my data, (which may or may not work) is there another fix?  It seems that windows is starting up, but just the login screen appear so I can enter my password.  I have windows 7 Home premium version.

    Hello

Please provide detailed information about your question. I appreciate the step by step troubleshooting, and pain that you have taken to resolve your problem.

If the Panel username and password is not displayed during logon and the problem persists even in safe mode, then the question could be if there is a corrupted file system or some third party conflicts.

I suggest that you want to run auto repair with installation media and see if it helps you repair system files. For the execution of the task, I suggest you to try the steps below and see if it helps.

    Method 1

When you use the recovery environment (Windows RE) to troubleshoot startup issues, first try the Startup Repair option in the System Recovery Options dialog box. If this does not resolve the problem, or if you have additional problems manually, use the Bootrec.exe tool.

Because you cannot start the computer, you may need to create a bootable Windows installation media, and then do an auto repair, and if this does not help then you try to restore your computer to the previous date.

Note: When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, the programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

If you are using Windows 7 and you have the product key and then the link provided below might help you to download and create installation media if you do not.

Download Windows 7 Disk Images (ISO files)

    Method 2

If the problem persists, try to rebuild the BCD by using the Bootrec.exe tool. To run the Bootrec.exe tool, you must start Windows recovery environment (Windows RE) . To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Place the Windows 7 installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.
    2. Press a key when you are prompted. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.
    3. Click repair your computer.
    4. Click the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.
    5. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click command prompt.
    6. Type Bootrec.exe, and then press ENTER.

See the following link for more information:

How to use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows recovery environment to troubleshoot and repair startup issues in Windows

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/927392

Hope it would help. If problem persists always post back with the current state of your computer and the result of the proposed suggestion, we will be happy to help you.

  • Color calibrator may not work correctly, because the display does not fill screen.

I have a Thinkpad W520 with 1920 x 1080 HD display and the color sensor. I tried to run the color standard application but always, she will work until the end but cannot process measures. How can I set the graphics so that this application is displayed full-screen when executing? Thank you.

Yes. But I just solved the problem. I set my display to display the text, icons, etc., to 150% of normal resolution. Somehow, he was causing the application displays only a partial screen. I set the magnification to 125% and now the standard color works very well.

  • Aspire R7 572 G having a black screen after windows update 8.1. What should I do

    Hi all

IM wondering, anyone having this problem before, Im of the problems with this black screen after startup, it happened yesterday I think microsoft needs to have updated some drivers rendering my black screen after startup. Initially, I thought it was my SSD, but it turns out that I can't get into Safe Mode.

I read more info on this problem related to the other PC and try the preferred method of 'disabling' drivers Intel GMA HD. It worked, however, this means that the main driver is now reduced to a graphics card video standard with vram limited.

I tried to roll back and even redownloading and reinstalling the intel driver in version VGA_Intel_9.18.10.3215. The blackscreen after boot have yet taken place. I missed something?

This is an old version of Intel drivers.

Try this, after uninstalling the old pilot Intel:

  • SOLVED! -Bluetooth not found after Windows 7 upgrade process - U350 only or other institutions?

Man, I am hoping somone will be able to point me in the right direction...

Anyway, has received Windows 7 Upgrade disks in the mail and decided to install them today because I had little time. Chose to 'upgrade' to the previous version of Vista (don't hate me for not doing a custom installation, 'clean'), and everything seemed fine, until I realized that my Bluetooth is not working (or even found in Device Manager).

Run the separate drive Lenovo sent with the Win7 upgrade disk and made me worry more because the installation of driver told me that he could not find a Bluetooth device (which confirmed the same as Device Manager). Tried to download the drivers manually on the internet without success.

Someone at - it ideas? The only possible 'factor' would be that I usually leave the Bluetooth in Vista, and when I ran the upgrade, Bluetooth was off I would have thought that Win7 would have seen the device anyway (regardless of the situation).

    Thanks to all in advance!

Really should try to do a Forum search next time (instead of just google)...

The answer to this was the Fn + F5 to ACTIVATE the Bluetooth module FIRST, before the system would see the in-camera. Once you actually turn, drivers can be installed according to normal... Thank GOD!

CONGRATULATIONS to all the pioneers who have actually found this in the first place. Hope this was able to help some lost soul who has the same problem a few hours (and installs / uninstalls useless).
