  Hello, I just put our J6480 to send and receive faxes. I tested it and am able to receive faxes, but get error 388 when trying to send a fax. I put the J6480 use the same line that our another fax machine used before he died Tuesday, (Ricoh fax/copier). We had no problem with faxing so far. Any help would be appreciated.

  Hey guys I just built my first system and it was a lot. I used the trial version of Windows 8 64-bit for about a week I had to wait for my windows 7 to arrive. Windows 8 everything went fine with no problems. Then I installed windows 7 and ever since then, every time I leave my system alone for an hour or two, I'll be back to see that it crashed because of this error message below. Can I use my computer all day, video, editing, etc, but when I close all and leave for an hour, I'll be back to see that I have broke down. I try to leave it overnight to install my steam on games but crashes after about an hour.

  The first thing that I would recommend before you do the radical and re install Windows or upgrade to Windows 7, is to make sure that you have backed up your files. Make sure that you have a separate player and follow the steps described in this article.

  Check what type of cable you are using. It requires a null-modem cable, but if you use it, try a straight through cable. The manual should specify the type of cable.

  It is likely that a WIndows reinstallation may be necessary.

  I would start by getting a good backup of all your data to an external device.

  Then Ifyou know a date that you restore your system to forward affected by the error, a restoration could solve the problem.  The log output, gives us a good indication of when the errors started really first.
